For Emergency Contraception "Dear ladies, it's my turn to report on my experience as this page kept me sane. Firstly - NO protection, NO connection!!! Secondly - Don't wait on a man to get you Plan B. Do it yourself ASAP. I had UPS with a pub guy, yes due to alcohol making it easy. Sex on 5th May, fully came inside me and had no shame to admit it. The next day I took it upon myself to get the pill and take it within less than 24 hours. I began reading and got freaked out because of the weight limit. I am 38 years old, obese as in 120 kg. Before the 72 hours, I purchased a 2nd Plan B just in case of my weight not making it work. Symptoms weren't too bad for me, just weird stomach cramps. 1 week later, spotting for 3-4 days. At some point, I had bad lower back and pelvic pain. The stress was all too real the closer you get to your period date. I read it all and naturally you do but shouldn't. TODAY I am happy to see real blood and it's 5 days past my period date of last month. I don't recommend the ordeal for the stress but I do recommend Plan B!"

For Birth Control "The insertion process of Liletta was great, mild cramping. Spotting at first for about 4-5 days after. I am now 7 months in and I spot for 3 weeks at a time. I’m good for 2 weeks then spot for 3 more weeks. My sex drive is incredibly high, and it’s putting a strain on my sex life. This is my first time getting on birth control. I was never a heavy bleeder, just a fertile mertile. Got pregnant easy. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful I am not pregnant, but I love sex and I am bummed with all this spotting."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Got my Mirena about a month or so ago, and the spotting will stop for 3-5 days, then start up again for another 8-10 days. They say it should stop completely after the first 3 months, but has anyone else experienced this, and it did stop?"

For Emergency Contraception "My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex around 11:30 p.m. on 12/3, and I was due to ovulate on 12/5. He claimed that he completely pulled out before he ejaculated, but I wasn't completely convinced. The next day, around 7:30 p.m. (20 hours after the act), I took a Plan B One-Step. Since I was so early in my cycle, I knew I would have to wait a while to see if it worked. I did not experience any symptoms until about a week later, when I started having sore boobs, headaches, and light brown spotting that lasted a couple of days. I was due for my period on 12/21, and it came a day early on 12/20. For everyone out there worrying: STOP! If you took it within the suggested time frame, it WILL work! Relax and let the pill do its job :)"

For Emergency Contraception "I had unprotected sex at the start of my ovulation window. Plan B did cause my period to be 10 days late. After I took the pill, I had brown spotting as if I was getting my period around the time I would normally get my period. After 5 days late, I got nervous and had a pregnancy blood test, which came out negative. On day 7, I started brown spotting again, and my period came 10 days late. Yes, Plan B can cause a delay in your period since it causes a delay in ovulation."

For Emergency Contraception "Like many before me, I vowed to return to this site and share my full review—so here I am. I’m a 45-year-old mother of four. I was done having kids, and my oldest could have his own at this point. But the unexpected happened—my husband didn’t pull out. OMG! I checked my calendar, and it read, “high possibility of pregnancy.” Oh Lord! I took Plan B seven hours later (I was NOT playing around). Everything seemed fine—until the next day. I experienced mild bloating for a couple of days, then cramps that lasted two weeks, along with discharge that mimicked pregnancy symptoms. Jesus, take the wheel! Then came spotting—Eureka! I thought I was in the clear, but it was only spotting, and you can definitely spot in early pregnancy. This lasted about five days. But today, my period arrived! On time, as expected. Praise the Lord! It came with a vengeance—super heavy! My second day is usually the worst. Well, ladies, that’s my story. I hope it helps someone!"

For Birth Control "After reading the reviews, I was terrified. Then I got to thinking, most of the time people only volunteer to share their reviews if they have had a negative experience. I am on a weight loss journey, so I was scared I would gain weight on the Mirena, and also, even after having the Paragard two times, I was scared to have the Mirena inserted after reading reviews. Monday, I went in to get the Mirena, my doctor reassured me that less than 5% of women gain weight and that most of the time the weight gain is caused by other factors. The procedure itself was quick. There is a small amount of pressure as the IUD is inserted, but nothing to get worked up about. I have had the IUD in place for four days now and have had minimal spotting and minimal cramping. I will update this in about three months. If you are considering the Mirena, please do not make your choice based on reviews from others. As I stated before, people are quick to complain but rarely reach out to leave positive reviews."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second Mirena, and I think it's great! The first one I got took a long time to stop spotting. I was frustrated and wanted it out. My doctor's office suggested waiting and giving it a chance. I'm really happy I listened! Each month, it got better. Those beginning days are so far behind me now. I haven't had any problems at all. Definitely worth it!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I wanted to share my positive experience with Mirena since there are a lot of negative reviews. All the negative reviews almost scared me off from trying it for myself. All women are different though, and I figured more people who had problems would get online and complain than women who had positive results. I am in my 40s, have 1 child, and have a really bad problem with extremely heavy flooding menstrual periods. It had gotten so bad I was flooding through every 2 hours, and that was affecting my daily life during that week. I had to do something, so I went for it. Insertion was painful but over quickly. I had mild cramping that day and spotting for about a week. After that, I had some discharge for several more weeks that I only noticed when I used the bathroom, and then it stopped. I have had 2 periods now after insertion, and they have been wonderful. I went from flooding to not even needing to wear or use anything! I have not had any side effects or problems. I am so happy that I did not let the negative reviews scare me off! Good luck to all the ladies who give it a try! Hope your experience is as positive as mine has been!"

For Birth Control "I love my IUD for many reasons. A lot of these reviews are just based off of the initial side effects and insertion. While I admit it was mildly painful for the first 24 hours and the spotting lasted 1-2 months, I am now 3 years in, and couldn't be happier. My period is 95% lighter and lasts only an hour, I never get cramps anymore, and I am comforted by the fact that it is so reliable! No weight gain or mood changes, and my skin is still clear. Some people say these cause infertility, but that is not true. IUDs have undergone many, many clinical studies which show that is not the case! Don't let people on here scare you :) If you want the facts, go to a credible source."

For Birth Control "3rd check-in - 3.5 years with Kyleena! Yes, there have been side effects - specifically hormonal acne and some intense cramping once every 2-3 months, but I honestly am very happy with my decision. I will keep the Kyleena in until the 5-year mark. Everyone is different, but after bad aura migraines on the pill, awful systemic effects with the Nexplanon matchstick arm implant, I am relieved I found something that worked. Something to know: my OBGYN said today that spotting may become a little irregular as you round out your last year of the IUD. I can attest to this. Had virtually no bleeding of any type the first 2-3 years with this, now I spot every month or so. Still nothing bad. Hope this helps!"

For Emergency Contraception "I promised myself that as soon as I got my period, I'd leave a review, so here I am. Early this year, my boyfriend and I had sex for the first time together: he didn't have a condom, so he was telling me that he'd pull out. At the end, I was so stressed since we didn't have any protection besides God's willing that I couldn't enjoy it, and he didn't come because of that. I was still extremely scared because he penetrated me a couple of times, and you can still get pregnant by precum. The next day, I woke up with so much anxiety, and I knew that I had to take Plan B. So I did. I was feeling perfectly normal without any symptoms. A week after, I started spotting, cramping, and I bled for like 3 days. DO NOT READ ANYTHING ON REDDIT OR OTHER WEBSITES. I did it, and it was a huge mistake because you're gonna convince yourself that you're pregnant. Thank God I found this website because it was the only thing keeping my last straw of sanity. Finally, today I got my period, and it was a huge relief. IT WORKS! TRUST IT."

For Birth Control "Had Skyla inserted 3 months ago. Side effects: first 2 months I had the annoying spotting every day. After that, I started to finally have clear days in a row. Had periods lighter but longer than usual (7-11-12d), but they should shorten now. Some PMS, nothing serious (breast soreness, mild to moderate cramps). Haven’t had any other side effects! Sex: My partner didn’t feel the strings, so I’m relieved. I didn’t have any pain during or after, no bleeding (I was scared that an “accident” might happen). Sex drive is just as high as usual. But I spotted the day after. Gym: I do CrossFit, and I was scared I might get cramps or it might move, but so far so good (just minor cramping after gym in the first month). Sometimes I spot over the next hours after gym due to increased blood flow. I’m trying to be patient with all this “shedding.” Bio: 32 yrs., NP, first form of BC. I read and watched all reviews until I drove myself crazy, but decided I will give it a try! Best luck, ladies!"

For Birth Control "I got my Mirena almost 6 months ago now, and I absolutely love it. I read so many reviews that made me hesitate to get it - it took me months to decide which birth control to get, but my doctor recommended this, so I trusted her. I have had 1 child previously, 2 years ago now, so I think that helped make my experience smooth. I took some ibuprofen before getting it put in, and there was discomfort, but nothing unbearable. I spotted and had irregular periods for the first 2 months, it was really annoying. Then I spotted occasionally for another two months or so. My periods have stopped completely now, so it was worth it. Also, the cramping was not bad at all. Nothing more than the moderate period pains I used to get. And my partner never notices it."

For Emergency Contraception "Ladies, do not fret. I was on here reading all the reviews. I was stressed. I had unprotected sex 2 days before my ovulation, January 23rd, which I could still have gotten pregnant. However, it is now February 9th, and my period came!!! Super heavy. I’d have to say I had all the signs of pregnancy. I woke up fatigued for no reason, and I was so moody. I also had spotting throughout the days, like super light red spotting about 3 times before my period actually came. I also have diarrhea, like bad. Anyone who says the side effects are bad and gives it a bad review. Sheesh girl, the point is for you to not get preggo."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "If I could give the Mirena a 20, I would! I had it inserted in August 2013 for endometriosis, and I have had one period since; and I use the phrase 'period' loosely (I barely bled for around 36 hours. It barely warranted the use of pantyliners). My primary reason for getting it was to keep my endometriosis at bay; it is an estrogen-dependent disease that thrives during your period, so my doctor killed two birds with one stone. My insertion was mildly uncomfortable during the part where they opened my cervix, but my doctor also had me take 800 mg of Ibuprofen an hour before my appointment. The whole insertion process took less than two minutes. I had absolutely no spotting or cramping for three days. Added bonus, my sex drive is through the roof!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had the Mirena inserted on November 4th, 2019. Today is January 16th, 2020, I am still spotting. I wasn't even told that I was going to be spotting for that long, only told a month by the nurse that insisted I be put on it. I noticed the cramping last up to a month and a half. I am sick and tired of the bleeding. It seems to stop between 1-3 days and start up again. So I just wear a liner every day. I do notice random pain in my ovaries, but it feels like an uncomfortable pulse, and then it's done. So I am not too worried about that, probably just my lady parts fighting back. I sure hope the bleeding stops soon because I am considering taking it out, up to 6 months of bleeding or spotting is absolutely ridiculous. I think they don't tell you about the spotting/bleeding so we get put on this. My overall experience is positive, I do recommend this product to others, just be forewarned about the bleeding, I can't express this enough."

For Emergency Contraception "I hope this helps, girls! I took Plan B for the first time, 6 days before ovulation, the beginning of my cycle. On 08/22, I had unprotected sex and took the pill 3 hours after that. No side effects, just felt tired and weird! A week after, I experienced sore boobs, cramps, mood swings, appetite changes, and even had a yeast infection. Then on 08/28, I started to spot, 7 days after the pill. Spotting was light, then it got a little more, I needed a pad! That lasted 4 days! Then I was fine, there was a white, thick, odorless discharge! Then a week went by, and on 09/07, I had these weird cramps and extreme bloating! It seemed like my ovulation day. Anyway, from that day, I felt weird and pregnant, with mood swings, emotional, and hungry all the time, with white and clear discharge! Anyway, on 09/17, my boobs were super sore, then cramping! I also felt nauseous, with a lot of cramping! My period was a week late! I spotted 2 days before my period, and my PERIOD IS HERE!!! 09/24, a week and a half late!!! Side effects suck! Don't stress, you will be fine!"

For Birth Control "I had the Mirena IUD placed in July of 2007, 6 months after my husband and I had our first baby. My doctor recommended it over the Paragard. When the doctor was placing it, I was extremely uncomfortable. However, I felt back to normal after two days. There was mild spotting for the first couple of weeks, but that stopped. Then my period stopped. In fact, I haven't seen my period since 2007. I haven't felt any different since I had it placed. The only thing that could be a bother about this is the strings, it feels like fishing line. The doctor said the strings would soften over time, and they did within the first year. I love Mirena!"

For Emergency Contraception "My boyfriend and I had sex on the 21st of August. It was my first time (I was in my fertile window), and of course, the condom broke. I started freaking out and took Plan B 30 minutes after. A week later, I experienced super bad cramps and spotted for 3 days (which I thought was my period). I took a pregnancy test after spotting (which ended up negative), and then another one 2 weeks after Plan B, and it was negative also. The pregnancy test didn’t ease my mind because I hadn’t gotten my period, so I just waited and hoped for my period. It has now been almost 3 weeks since I took Plan B, and I started my period 5 days after my predicted start. Plan B will throw off your period, stress can also do so. You will most likely have symptoms that resemble pregnancy, such as spotting, fatigue, breast tenderness, etc. But these are all also very common symptoms of Plan B. Stop stressing and stay off the internet, it will stress you out even more. Don’t worry, girl."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm 46 years old, on my second Mirena, and will be eagerly lining up to have my third fitted next year. During my mid-30s, I began to experience heavy periods to the point they were interfering with my ability to leave the house. My doctor recommended Mirena. It took many months to settle down (4-6 if memory serves), and I was at the point where I wanted it out, but my doctor told me to wait another month, and sure enough, the daily spotting stopped. Mirena has worked wonders for me. I love the freedom and convenience of not having periods."

Only a small bit of spotting you 7 months after, very rarely, but now all of a sudden, the last week there's spotting and a strange chemical smell. Just now, a huge gush of bright red blood with clots came out. A lot of abdominal pain and tenderness last week also. No idea what it could be. Done a pregnancy test, it was negative."

For Birth Control "I LOVE my Mirena. I had it inserted in January 2019. It ended my heavy periods (I don't get them at all) and PMS with no side effects, just spotting now and again. Insertion was painful but brief. I don't have to worry about remembering anything. It doesn't contain estrogen (I get migraines), and it lasts five years. Wohoo!"

For Birth Control "Had my Kyleena inserted a year and 2 months ago. Was it painful to insert? Honestly, yes. I had bad cramps for 48 hours after, but my doctor was great and filled a very small T3 prescription for me, which was great! I had on-and-off spotting for the first 3 months and then no period for 10 months. I just had my period and no cramps at all. I got Kyleena because I used to have 9-day, heavy bleeding periods, so this has been amazing for me. 10/10 worth the pain during the insertion and adjustment period. I did have 2 months of pretty bad hormonal acne around my jaw, which was new for me, but I was also having a rough time then (lol thanks COVID). Overall, I highly recommend it and have had zero pregnancy scares even though my partner and I have unprotected sex every time."
