Reviews for Liletta

For Birth Control "I had Liletta inserted earlier this month. It was the worse pain ever. I had Mirena prior to this and my nurse practitioner reminded me of that procedure. There is no way I had this type of pain with Mirena. I am sure that if I did I would not have agreed to this. There were problems with the insertion and I was told thankfully this device was reloadable. I had cramping days later as expected but weeks later I am still having cramping. I am certain that I will opt to have this removed because it is very painful."

For Birth Control "Today marks 6 months with my Liletta IUD...which I love. Insertion was painful, as expected, but nothing I couldn't handle. Cramping and spotting lasted a few days after...and for the first 4 months I spotted lightly for 8-10 days, always 28 days apart...so I tracked those times as my period. Very minimal cramping aside from the early cramps due to insertion. Didn't take long for the strings to soften and curl up so my partner could not feel them during intercourse. My side effects do include weight gain and a struggle to lose it despite consistent exercise and healthy eating, and dry skin, and bloating/constipation."

For Birth Control "I absolutely freaked out TODAY when I went to get my IUD Because I read every. Single. Review on this website. Girls! Don't freak ourself out! My pain rating was in the negatives! And it completely stopped my very heavy period in 12 hours. I know everyone's story is different but don't rely on reviews when it comes to your body :)"

For Birth Control "I decided to write a review because I was reading all the comments saying it's extremely painful when inserted and I wanted to share my experience. I had a baby in December (3 months ago) which may have attributed to the lack of pain and discomfort. The only real pain and discomfort I had was from the speculum aside from that I couldn't feel a thing. I didn't really get any cramping afterwards either."

For Birth Control "Had IUD inserted on 2/14 while on my period and it hurt a ton. Period immediately disappeared, to extremely light spotting and then left all together after having it only 2 days (usually 5). I do not feel the IUD at all and I really like it. However, I have noticed that my skin is acting up and that was never an issue for me (used ACV and got it under control). Also, I just got what was supposed to be my period, but only spotted for 10 days, no regular period ever came. Not sure how I feel about the 10 days but my periods before were TERRIBLE so I'm happy that's gone. I had tried the depo shot, 3 different pills and the pullout method prior to this and this is by far the best one. Take ibuprofen before insertion and you'll be ok."

For Birth Control "Dang this word count! I'd love to share my full experience, but here's the quick version. Insertion sucked, but I would do it again looking back. I was prescribed misoprostol and a strong NSAIDS to take prior to insertion. Very bad cramps for 5 to 6 hours.. Think of if you've ever had to go home from school because of bad cramps in your teens. Brownish discharge for a couple days, then clear until my period. First period lasted about 16 days, pretty normal for an IUD. Second period was 4 weeks later for 5 days. Periods are now 3 months in between, only lasting 1 day of light spotting. No mood swings at all compared to pill. More body acne but it's manageable. Slight cramps are very rare. Overall love it!"

For Birth Control "I got the Liletta March 2016 after I had my daughter. The procedure wasn't too painful for me and was quick. When I first got it my periods was light and had spotting here and there. Since November of 2016 my periods have actually stopped. Personally I love this birth control and glad I got it."

For Birth Control "I'm happy and unhappy with this birth control. The pain of insertion was fine for me because it was fast and the doctor said I wouldn't feel it as bad because I just had a baby 4 months ago. Reasons I'm happy with Liletta - doesn't make me moody or sad like the pill did, no breakouts other than what I had before which is 1-2 hormonal pimples per month, and can't feel it. Unhappy - Got it 5 weeks ago and have spotted pretty much every day since. My first period was longer and heavier. I get random cramps, especially after a work out and it is annoying. My check up is next week and if the doctor doesn't think my spotting will stop within the next 2-3 weeks then I will be taking it out. Hate worrying about spotting every day."

For Birth Control "I got my Liletta September 2016. I was a little scared that day and I thought they where not going to insert it because I had my period. But my doctor said it is better to insert when your on your period. It was fast and minor pain. I had painful cramps for one hour that day only. For the next 3 months my cycles where normal and everything good. But for the past 2 month's I started having some discomfort. Hot flashes , back pain, mood swings, fatigue ,chest pain, very low sex drive and minor depression . The worst is the hot flashes. I've done Thiyroid , estrogen, pregnacsy test and others. All the results are good. I don't know if it's the Liletta it's the only recent change l have done."

For Birth Control "Had Liletta inserted mid November 2016. The doctor did her best to make me comfortable and walk me thru the process. First, came the cold clamps that open your cervix. Then, the doctor inserted something to measure my cervix to make sure the device would fit properly. This was a pinching pain coming from deep inside me. After this came insertion. The insertion felt like a combination of pinching, pushing, and pulling all at once. I cramped, badly, after. I had some spotting for 4 days following. I've had a regular period monthly since then. I have been spotting again recently, which has lasted over a week. No pregnancy though, and my acne has stayed about the same as with the pill. Hoping my period stops soon as well. So far I am happy."

For Birth Control "I heard from a bunch of mom friends IUDs were the way to go and really not very painful at all especially after you've had kids. Well after a stupid amount of research I had it inserted February 24th 2017. Its March 7th 2017 and I have not stopped bleeding. The procedure was very painful for me but it was quick. My husband came with too. I don't think I could have driven myself after. I did take ibuprofen like suggested an hour before and I have had two normal vaginal births of 8 pound boys. Also I have a bunch of piercings, tattoos, and broken bones. Thought I had a high pain tolerance. I've been having mood swings and hot/cold sweats. Irritable/crying/sad mainly. I'm thinking about removing it at the 4 week check up. No sexy time yet :("

For Birth Control "I aImost didn't go through after reading these reviews. I have had Liletta for about 2 months. I have no tolerance for pain whatsoever. I took a tramadol 2 hours before my appointment. My doctor advised that it would be painful for a short while especially since I have never been pregnant. She was very good during the insertion about letting me know when pain would occur. It was very painful for about 3-4 hours. After that, it was similar to my normal cramps for 2 days. I spotted for the first 4 days just enough for a panty liner, not even a pad, and have not had any spotting since. I have had no issues with my boyfriend and the strings or being dry "down there" as I have read with some others. My sex drive has increased since having it."

For Birth Control "I had my IUD inserted on Jan 21. Almost a month later, I started to bleed as if it were my period. It was very heavy. My periods normally last 5 days and taper off almost completely by day 7. Since February 15, I have been bleeding heavily. Soaking through tampons and pantiliners with no end in sight. It's now March 3 and I'm not sure how much longer I should let this go on before I see my doctor. They told me to expect bleeding but I'm afraid this isn't exactly what they meant."

For Birth Control "I have had liletta for almost 3 months now and I'm loving it. I was nervous to get it put in because I have a low pain tolerance and it did hurt a lot for about a minute when they were positioning it. The planned parenthood nurses were very nice and let me lay down for about 15 minutes after the procedure and then I took the bus home. For about an hour after I had horrible cramps, but then I had period-like cramps for the rest of the day. Since I had a week left on my pill pack, they told me to finish it because liletta isn't 100% effective until 5 days later. After I finished the birth control pills, I had my period for 8 days, which is about twice as long as it usually is. But my next period was only 3 days and very light"

For Birth Control "So my insertion was August 2016. It was HORRIBLE. Everybody said it was gonna feel like a pinch and be over in 5 mins. The clamps that they used to extend your cervix hurt so much. and they were having a really hard time inserting the IUD. I had to take numerous breaks I was in so much pain. I have multiple piercings nipples being one, multiple tattoos so pain isn't too much of a problem for me. After insertion that day I had terrible cramps. I bled for 2.5 weeks. but 6 months later I love it. my periods are super light if I get it at all. No pain. I can't feel it during sex. and I'm still not pregnant. I am noticing I am a little extra emotional but it doesn't bother me"

For Birth Control "I wanted to share my experience after reading several reviews. I had the procedure about 10 hours ago, and I do have a high pain tolerance. I felt as though the procedure was uncomfortable but not really painful. I have not had any cramps or discomfort all evening with very minor spotting. So far things are going well. I did take 800mg of Ibuprofen before the insertion but nothing since."

For Birth Control "So I got the liletta about September 2016 and the insertion was super painful for me, during and after. I got out the doctor and felt super light headed and the cramps were terrible I had to sleep for the rest of the day my cramps literally lasted 3 days. I mainly got it because I have fibroids so I needed something to make me bleed less. As I thought the liletta was suppose to give me less periods granted my periods are lighter before my periods would last 6 days but after I started this IUD they last for two weeks! I barely have any time to get intimate because I'm always bleeding and it's uncomfortable for me. I'm already going to have 6 months in and I think I'm going to remove it. Everyone is different, but it's a no for me."

For Birth Control "Had the IUD put in 2 weeks ago....painful (yet quick) insertion. Cramping that night. Spotted for 4 days. Had to go back today to have it taken out. Pelvis felt inflamed. Does cause acne/oily skin....but otherwise no symptoms. Not a fan of the IUD. Unfortunately first and last."

For Birth Control "I've had my liletta for almost 3 months now and everything is great. The insertion process isn't pleasant but it was pretty quick. I'd say a 4 or 5 on a scale from 1-10 and but just for a minute. I had a lot of cramping afterward for several days and I felt light headed after the procedure (eat something before, take 800 mg of ibuprofen & stay hydrated!) I have had some irregular bleeding but it's been light & infrequent. Definitely manageable. I love having birth control that I don't have to think about! The only negative side effect that I've noticed is that my skin is more oily than before when I was on the pill."

For Birth Control "I'm not sure what other people experience months after the insertion, but I had my Liletta inserted in mid November and I have bled or have had spotting every day since insertion. I either have to use tampons or a pad depending on the day but I can never go without one or the other. It is super effective as birth control for me, as I never want to have sex with my husband per all the blood. I will be looking for an alternative birth control method."

For Birth Control "I had the liletta inserted on February 9th, 2016. The insertion was a little painful with some cramps following the procedure. With questions and all, the procedure only took about 10 minutes. I was really nervous after reading some reviews, so I wanted to share mine since mine is more positive than others. I was on my period during the insertion and it actually stopped the next day and I've had minimal spotting since and was told that would last up to 6 weeks, but it's really been maybe two full days since the procedure. All in all, glad I went through with it."

For Birth Control "I'm 32 and have 1 kiddo who is 7. I'm been on the birth control struggle bus for years trying to find something that didn't make me unpredictably moody. I've tried almost all birth control pills under the sun and nothing seemed to work. My doctor took me off of birth control completely for 3 months and I felt great. He told me about Liletta and that the hormones would stay centralized (meaning it would not affect my mood). So I opted to get it inserted. Insertion was god awfully painful! But a day later I knew it was worth it. 3 days after I broke out into hives! I was allergic and had to get it removed today. Quick and painless for removal. I wish it had worked for me."

For Birth Control "I got the liletta inserted today. I'm 18. It didn't hurt much during but it's now that I feel the pain. I'm laying in bed and I can't get comfortable. I have awful cramps and lower back pain to the point that I'm actually crying writing this. My mom said I should give it time but all I know is this hurts. I guess time will tell how effective it is."

For Birth Control "(Liletta IUD) I have a high pain tolerance (everyone is different). But in this case, that does not matter. During the insertion you will feel a slight pain/cramping but it is bearable! You will tense up a little, but breathing in with your nose and out with your mouth will help! The vaginal clamp did put pressure on me more than the actual cervix opening for the IUD. It's a quick process and rating the pain out of 10, it was about a 4-5 (deep breaths help!). I went while I was on my period which is recommended for easy insertion (true!) And my period stopped the same day, but got light the next day (normally heavy flow). You will feel a little light headed & crampy after but no joke, ice cream or a milkshake will help the pain! Good luck!"
