For Insomnia "Like many posting here, lifelong insomniac here. I started taking 5 mg Dayvigo. Had horrible sleep paralysis—simply terrifying. I have figured out a way to make it work. I make sure I'm not taking it on an empty stomach - and I only take half of the 5 mg pill. If I do this, I avoid the sleep paralysis but still get like 7 hours of sleep."

For Insomnia "I tried it for a week. The first night I took it around 9:30pm with good sleep practices.I didn’t sleep at all that night. The next night I tried again and didn’t sleep at all. After that I was tired, and had really bad headaches and felt groggy, confused during the day. These were different from what I get after a regular bad sleep. Day 4, 5 and 6 I started getting very intense bad dreams, sleep paralysis and my daytime depression got worse. The side effects actually started really effecting me, I’m so glad I’m off it now. Biggest dud I’ve ever tried."

For Insomnia "HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE BEWARE!!! Do not take this medication at all cost, side effects are atrocious and frightening, this drug should be pulled off market. I was prescribed this medication for my difficulty staying asleep. I have been taking Ambien for a few years. I took Dayvigo last night and I am still shaken and traumatized by the experience. The drug starts working pretty quickly, I had difficulty staying awake, I felt myself drifting but in a vertigo style sensation and then straight into vivid nightmare where I was under water and could not breathe, all this within minutes, I struggled to wake up and come to my senses, panicked and shocked. I calmed down and slowly felt the same spinning sensation and entering into another nightmare unable to breathe. I forced myself awake, had to turn on all the lights and open all the windows in the condo. I paced for hours to stay awake to avoid experiencing the feeling of dying. Struggled whether to call 911, paced nonstop until 4AM."

For Insomnia "At first, the 5mg didn't work. My doctor said 10mg is okay to take. I get these as sample boxes from him. After I took two 5mg pills, I felt a little like I was drunk, minus the drunk feeling when walking and talking. This drug does wonders for me. I'm able to sleep 8 hours a night continuously, even after waking up. I have tried everything from zopiclone to trazodone, prazosin, benzodiazepines, and even herbal Chinese teas. I do sometimes get night terrors or feel like I can't breathe enough, but it's worth knowing I'll be fine and I can finally sleep. I operate heavy machinery and do not notice a lack of strength or alertness the next day like it warns. If this medication had too many cons, it would be in the garbage. But luckily it works for me. I am a female, 5'7, 30 years old, and weigh 165 pounds. I have been on it for two months now and hope it has a long-lasting effect. I tend to develop a high tolerance for medications quickly, and they start to stop working sooner than later. We shall see here."

For Insomnia "Took 5mg for 4 nights and did not sleep. I was made incredibly restless and kept violently tossing and turning in bed. It stressed me out so bad I developed back pain. The few moments my body has been exhausted enough to lose consciousness, I got much worse, much more vivid nightmares than usual and had to fight and literally slap myself in the face to wake up. I seem to have been grinding my teeth as well, which I've never done before. I'm stressed, exhausted and annoyed. Never again."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo has been a g-d send for my sleep. I had crippling insomnia and used Ambien which literally starting causing cognitive issues during the day, I was groggy and a zombie. Dayvigo works and has been safe for me to use everyday if I need to, no grogginess in the morning and well rested. Takes 20 minutes tops for me to fall asleep. I do get vivid dreams, but they are all pleasant and have even been informative and prophetic. I write my dreams down in a dream journal. I’ve been taking dayvigo for two years with no negative side effects."

For Insomnia "I've been on and off of Dayvigo (the 5mg dose) for the last 4 months. On for up to a couple of weeks at a time, then off because I need a break from the side effects -- I'm cognitively impaired the next day... not sleepy, just can't concentrate at all, sometimes can't even read. I'm glad to have it on hand to take when needed, because Dayvigo does actually put me to sleep in 30 minutes to an hour BUT the sleep is quite fragmented, and I wake up a lot. Vivid dreams, but nothing problematic and no sleep paralysis. It definitely works best if you take it on an empty stomach. Not addictive like the benzos or ambien, so worth trying if you're looking for an alternative to those (which I was). If you're coming off from a long time on one of those, you're not getting the true effects of Dayvigo on its own and might be experiencing ambien withdrawal instead -- wait for it ambien (or whatever) to get out of your system before determining if this works. It still might not, but..."

For Insomnia "My dr gave me some samples of this to try and sleep better. I had mirtazapine but didn't like it. I would be a zombie the entire next day and I have a prescription for clonazepam but don’t want to get addicted so I’d take it maybe 1-3x per month to help sleep and I would always have the best quality sleep ever. So my doc gave me DayVigo to try and I’ve taken it 5x total and I must say I love it. I seem to sleep very, very well and get up to use the washroom maybe 1-2x and when I wake up to go I’m like a zombie and instantly back to sleep and the next day I feel great no issues. The vivid nightmares/ dreams I actually enjoy to be honest so no complaints there. I actually look forward to the wild crazy dreams I experience on this medication. Now that the samples are gone I just asked my pharmacist to fill a one month supply."

For Insomnia "I suffer from treatment resistant depression and sleep problems. I have been taking zopiclone as needed for years but my doctors aren’t keen on it. I was given Dayvigo samples to try. I was told to start on 5 mg each night which might later be raised to 10 mg. At this point my depression was under control from ketamine infusion treatment, I’d had a very successful treatment that day and my mood was good. On the first night on Dayvigo I didn’t feel it had much effect and the day after taking that first dose, my mood was slightly lower. On the second night, it wasn’t helping me get to sleep so after a couple of hours I tried another tablet (so 2 x 5 mg, for a total of 10 mg.). I did fall asleep, but the next morning I woke up feeling so depressed I was almost suicidal. I told my wife I would have to be taken to the hospital. Luckily my wife suggested it might be caused by Dayvigo. Stopped it that night and felt fine next day. Be very careful with this drug!"

For Insomnia "Works wonders and keeps me asleep without night terrors or night eating. Anxiety that leads to nights with no sleep even with 2mg Klonopin. I've run the gauntlet of Trazadone, Seroquel (off label), Lunesta, Vistiril, Clonidine, some off label blood pressure meds and this has been the most successful. Timing can be tricky as I never know what's going to trigger a night of zero sleep and the recommendation of an empty stomach but I sleep through the night, I don't have deep rapid sleep cycles that bring night terrors, nor am I dreaming of food in my house and sleep eating or with one med I was throwing away silverware in my house. I also have ADHD so I may be lucky in that I have something to kick my butt in gear in the morning other than caffeine but I can actually sleep on nights when my anxiety is out of control."

For Insomnia "Don't let the negative reviews turn you off from trying this. I was nervous to try this for my anxiety-related insomnia, but it worked well at only 5mg dose per night. I don't have any nightmares, I don't even really dream at all on this. However, it does leave me pretty drowsy the next morning, and my noontime post-lunch drowsiness is also more intense, but it's well worth it for a good night's sleep."

For Insomnia "I’ve been taking zopiclone 3.75 mg (broke 7.5 in half) for years. My body got so used to it that I either had to increase the dosage or change the medication. I did try zopiclone at 7.5mg and the next day my head was too heavy, it affected my functionality. My doctor suggested I try Dayvigo and gave me samples. Tried it last night for the first time. I got absolutely no sleep. I will try again tonight, but without getting any sleep I don’t think I can keep trying."

For Insomnia "My regular sleep med is Ambien. Hoping to find a better aid, my PCP sampled me Dayvigo. Sleep came in about 20 mins. Along with very vivid, almost lucid dreams. Some very erotic. No good sleep after 2 hrs. Other than the very sexy, vivid dreams, this drug was worthless for me."

For Insomnia "Caused complete paralysis including vocal cords along with terrifying hallucinations every single time I took it. The Orexin sleeping medicines shouldn't be on the market. I've never been so scared in my life, and I don't get scared easily at all. The hallucinations are always terrifying, never neutral or in a non-terrifying manner. I just tried Quviq and the exact same thing happened, you can't even yell because your vocal cords are paralyzed along with every muscle in your body. In 40 years worth of insomnia treatments, I have never had such severe side effects, not even something 5% as bad. Be prepared for this side effects because it's common. Once it happens, it will scare you so bad you will never even think about taking it again. Not sure why it's called sleep paralysis because when it happens you are wide awake and unable to fall asleep. Insomniacs need meds that work, not scare them to death."

For Insomnia "This is the first medication that actually did what it says without making you feel bad the next day. Even though I only get a few hours sleep that little bit makes me feel like a new person. I highly recommend really reading the info that comes with it. I was a little afraid of the “sleep paralysis” but I learned I could pull myself out of it if I wanted to. Also the medication works better or stronger on an empty stomach. So now that I have learned the ins and outs of taking it. I get comfy and just enjoy it because I know I will go to sleep. So far no night mares and I hope I don’t start that. I am on 5mg. It makes me feel awesome when I wake up. I was able to find an online coupon that makes out only $30 a month."

For Insomnia "This medication changed my life for the better. I've tried and failed just about every sleep aid and supplement, including off-label ones: trazodone, zopiclone, zolpidem, doxepin, mirtazapine, clonazepam, diazepam, pregabalin, hydroxyzine, diphenhydramine, promethazine, neuroleptics, antidepressants, melatonin, valerian, passionflower, chamomile, magnesium, L-theanine, ashwagandha... The only medications which have helped me are nabilone, prazosin, cannabis, and now Dayvigo. I have primary chronic insomnia as well as insomnia related to PTSD. At its worst, I got 0-2 hours of sleep for 2 years. This is the first medication that lets me sleep like I did when I was a child. I thought it wouldn't work, but it really does. I can now taper off the 4 other meds I use for sleep. I'm in Canada where Dayvigo costs $45/month, so it's definitely worth it. I take 5mg. BE SURE to take it on an empty stomach, right when you go to bed. It doesn't work on a full stomach."

For Insomnia "One 5 mgs pill, and that's it. Never again. I have a traumatic brain injury, but I didn't see anyone else who had a bad reaction to Dayvigo say that he had a TBI. I could have put up with a night with light to no sleep, but dang, twenty - four hours later, I'm still hungover from that one pill. I didn't have any of the dramatically bad responses to the drug which others have had, but this is bad enough. Now, I have to try to get to sleep with a limited amount of alprazolam ( Xanax ) left to me. The medical establishment is making a typical, terribly stupid mistake again, this time, in its shunning of benzodiazepines. Doctors get on a kick about something every few years, and millions of people suffer terribly as a result. Thank God, there is beginning to be some fight back by doctors against The New Truth: benzodiazepines are horrible! Except, of course, they're not, not for many, many people. They must always be used carefully, but some people absolutely must have them."

For Insomnia "Please do not take this dangerous medication! I took one 5mg pill a few hours ago and had horrendous nightmares and extremely frightening sleep paralysis for 3 hours. I almost suffocated when I turned my face halfway into the pillow and was unable to move due to sudden sleep paralysis. I have chronic insomnia and the doctor gave me a sample pack of this med today, and I now am afraid to go back to sleep tonight in case this horrible med isn't out of my system yet, so doubt I'll get any sleep at all tonight after this wretched experience. I came across these reviews after I had taken it; had I found them beforehand I'd never have tried it and hope no one else does either. I'm convinced the positive reviews were written by the manufacturer. I'm going back to the herbal supplements I've been taking and would rather just get 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night at this point than ever risk any sleep medication a doctor hands out in a free packet again, or prescribes for that matter."

For Insomnia "HORRIBLE DRUG I don't know how Dayvigo was approved, I have sleep insomnia and was taking zopiclone 7.5 mg, my body got used to it and started to be less effective. My doctor prescribed Dayvigo 10 mg to replace it. I tried it one night and it was the worst night I had in my life. I felt totally wrong my heart was racing, all my body sensations were wrong, I felt I was in a horrible nightmare, I don't have enough words to describe the horrible experience that I suffered. I am writing this review hoping that I can help other people avoid such horrific experience. I drank lots of water to get rid of it from my body. I am rating it 1 because there is no 0 or negative rating"

For Insomnia "Helps with sleep, but after the first couple of weeks I found that it lasts only about 3 hours. Therefore I take half on falling asleep, and the other half late in the night. Coincident with starting the Dayvigo I've had severe nausea and vertigo on and off during the day. I don't know if it's related to the Dayvigo, or due to something else. Has anyone else experienced nausea and/or vertigo during the day? Unfortunately, I've become dependent on Dayvigo, and so stopping it to check will be difficult."

For Insomnia "Did not experience sleepiness whatsoever. 5mg caused hyper-awakeness, and migraine headaches. After 9 hours awake finally fell asleep to extreme nightmares, sleep paralysis, then hallucinations, and repeated screaming. Disturbing results from such a small dose. The drug was extremely expensive. I'll return to Zopiclone."

For Insomnia "Excellent sleeping pill for me. Without a sleep aid, it takes me a while to fall asleep but I can do so naturally. BUT: I wake up at 2am and am then wide awake. I used to sleep like a baby. Then came peri- and menopause. I was taking Belsomra 20mg. That worked okay, I fell asleep quickly but often I still woke up in the early hours and sometimes could not get back to sleep. I found out about Dayvigo through my own research. It worked immediately. I took 5mg last night at 9:30pm. Slept soon after and stayed asleep until 6:30am. I woke a few times, could go to the bathroom and easily fall asleep again. (Tonight I’ll try halving the pill to see if a smaller dosage has as good an effect.) No crazy dreams, no sleep paralysis. None of the known possible side effects as described in the literature about this drug. This drug works for me. It may not be good for you. That’s all there is to it. Good luck. Insomnia is a nightmare! Female. Healthy and slim."

For Insomnia "I have insomnia for 15 years, for last 3 years taking Trazodone which I don't like taking so doctor offered new drug Dayvigo. I am tapering off Trazodone started Dayvigo, first night great sleep but then went downhill fast. Here are some side effects, nausea that does not go away, loss of appetite, feeling sleepy all day but can’t sleep, feeling tired and weak, burning in my gut, head feels blown up, walking unsteady, sleep is awful (I call it sleeping awake), feeling of not caring. After 2 weeks of this I quit taking Dayvigo. This drug gave me hope but never lasted."
