For Insomnia "Never, under any circumstances take this drug if you have insomnia due to an overactive brain. The best way to describe it would be like taking an entire bottle of sleeping pills while drinking a case of red bull. It caused paralysis in all 4 of my with numbness/tingling. My heart started racing out of my chest while it felt like 500lbs or pressure. I had beads of sweat dripping down my face, couldn’t breathe… I tried to scream when I discovered I couldn’t swallow, my jaw locked. Had to slowly talk myself into moving one finger at a time until I could use my arms to push myself physically out of bed. Began pacing for 2 hours before vomiting everywhere. Absolutely worst experience of my life. This drug should never be responsibly prescribed to anyone! Giving this medication a 1/10 seems irresponsible."

For Insomnia "Just to put this in perspective, I don’t have any dependencies on Z drugs, benzos, etc. Unfortunately Dayvigo is another failure just like Belsomra. At least I had zero side effects from 10mg. IMO, this will not benefit the hardcore insomniac."

For Insomnia "Please keep in mind that a lot of the low reviews seem to be going off Ambien, benzos, or other stuff. I was reluctant to try Dayvigo due to these, but after trying everything short of the above and at the recommendation of a pharmacist, I decided to try it. Thus far, with a few side effects, this stuff is pretty great. Some things to keep in mind: - The first few nights will be strange. Night 1 was vivid but pleasant dreams and some sleep fragmentation. Night 2 was my one and only incident of sleep paralysis, but I knew it was coming and so I was able to shrug it off. Nights 3 and onward were better and better. I fall asleep fast and, best of all, stay down most of the night. I haven't slept this well since my teens. - There will be some daytime drowsiness, but it does gradually get better. - Do not eat three hours before taking this stuff, as it makes it far less potent. Avoid liquids as much as possible too. - Getting out of bed is a bit of a struggle."

For Insomnia "Starting using this 2 months ago after years of insomnia. Tried diverse therapies, alternative meds and prescribed sleeping aids. Nothing helped. Side effects of said prescriptive meds were ghastly. Dayvigo 5mg completely changed my sleeping life. Vivid dreams and a bit groggy in the morning which espresso soon cures: that is it. Must say that I have a healthy, active lifestyle and happy marriage and network. Those things, combined with blessed sleep is heavenly."

For Insomnia "I have to say I’ve struggled since childhood to get to sleep. I’ve tried every medication and natural supplement under the sun, and this is the only medication that’s worked for me. I’ve never had a nightmare in the 3 months I’ve been on it. I did experience sleep paralysis one time since taking it. The only thing I’m not a fan of is I get random nausea, and I'm told that’s a side effect. Hopefully that subsides because I’m finally sleeping after years and years of not. I’m also someone who hates taking meds but grateful for this one."

For Insomnia "My husband has had lifelong insomnia (possibly because of his Asperger's/ADD) that has only worsened into adulthood. Before we found Dayvigo he was taking a lot of different pills and large quantities of alcohol throughout the night to get to sleep and stay asleep. I DON'T recommend this, I'm only telling the ugly truth so that any one out there in the same boat can maybe see that there is hope. He has been on Dayvigo for 8 months, and it is the only medication he has ever found that actually gives him a good night's sleep. He no longer needs the other prescriptions or (more importantly) the alcohol, thank goodness. The Dayvigo does cause him some daytime sleepiness (not enough to make driving dangerous), and it does increase his sleep paralysis episodes, but he says it is worth it, because insomnia is a living nightmare for him."

For Insomnia "I was given a sample pack by my doctor to try because I was having trouble going to sleep and waking up with only 4-5 hours of sleep. I tried it for almost a week but the horrible side effects weren’t worth it. I had vivid nightmares and would try to scream for help but couldn’t get the words out in my dream. Weird doesn’t begin to describe it. I’m sure there are people that will benefit from this drug but not me."

For Insomnia "I have had a hard time getting to sleep most of my life, but the last half year it has been impossible. I have tried all different kinds of natural sleep aids, Ativan, Lunesta, and others. They (prescription medications) worked for a short while, but I was always feeling groggy the day after. Brain didn't work. I also tried Belsomra, but it only worked 50% of the time and I was really tired the day after. Enter Dayvigo. I take 10 mg 30 minutes before bed and go to sleep immediately. I have no side effects, except some light tiredness (a little harder to leave the bed in the morning). My head feels clear. As I understand it, it has no bad side effects on the brain. I got my life back. Grateful."

For Insomnia "Like many posting here, lifelong insomniac here. I started taking 5 mg Dayvigo. Had horrible sleep paralysis—simply terrifying. I have figured out a way to make it work. I make sure I'm not taking it on an empty stomach - and I only take half of the 5 mg pill. If I do this, I avoid the sleep paralysis but still get like 7 hours of sleep."

For Insomnia "I have had insomnia my entire life and been on Ambien since 2004. It works but it's a wicked drug and I tell everyone not to ever take it. My doctor gave me the ten tablet, day 5 mg freebie pack today and I took one. Well, holy moly...I had the sleep paralysis big time. Tried to call my son in the other room but could not get a sound out no matter how many times I tried. Then either I imagined it or it happened, but I crawled to the bedroom door and tried to open it. That's my last memory which may or may not have happened. I woke up in bed later but feeling my breathing getting shallower and shallower - and all the while I'm trying to convince myself that this too, shall pass. Well, got up roughly five hours later and my butt hurts - so not sure if I fell off the bed. I guess if I have a bruise in a day or two I'll get the definitive answer. I was so hoping this would be a Godsend...instead God sent me to a trip to Disney-nightmare land and the rides there are NOT fun in the least."

For Insomnia "I have been on every sleep medication you can think of including Rx and holistic and OTC and nothing has ever worked until I tried Dayvigo. It literally only takes 20 mins to kick in and the lights are out for 8 to 10 hours of sleep. I haven't ever had this great a sleep in my entire life and I'm in my mid 50's. This works great and I have zero side effects. I love it."

For Insomnia "Had I read all the negative reviews prior to trying Dayvigo, I probably would've never tried it. Fortunately for me, the medication worked exactly as needed. I have chronic insomnia where I fall asleep fairly easily, but then wake up every hour or so for at least an hour at a time, leading to 3 to 4 hours a night tops. I've tried Xanax, Ambien and Seroquel and those first 2, although they worked, are now being linked to dementia and Alzheimers which I have no desire to develop. Seroquel also worked, but kept me tired all day. Dayvigo 5mg has thus far (3 weeks) worked like a champ. I sleep through the night every night and fall asleep within 15 minutes of taking it. I have noticed a few vivid dreams which I've found an added benefit if anything. No sleep paralysis or other negative side effects. Because its new, it is very costly, but I'll pay anything for a peaceful night's sleep."

For Insomnia "I’ve been taking Zopiclone off and on for years as I struggle with falling and staying asleep. I was recently given a trial of Dayvigo and while it’s not perfect I definitely feel like I’ve had a more complete nights sleep since I’ve started. I still have a tendency to wake up a few times during the night but have gone back to sleep quickly and easily. The downsides have been I feel groggy for about the first hour or so upon waking up and I have had vivid dreams (not nightmares). It’s fast acting (feel ready for sleep in about 20-30 minutes), if I do wake up getting back to sleep is no issue, I haven’t needed to get up if I do wake, and most importantly I feel like I’ve had a more complete nights sleep in the morning. I’d recommend trying Dayvigo if other meds haven’t worked. It won’t be for everyone but don’t let the negative reviews scare you."

Dayvigo is terrible. One dose caused me sleep paralysis and night terrors. Save yourself. Flush this garbage down the toilet."

For Insomnia "I am a busy trial lawyer with severe, chronic, primary insomnia. I took Ambien for 20 years and it was terrific. Then it just stopped working. Completely. Next my internist tried off-label uses of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics. I am neither depressed nor psychotic, and these drugs made me feel bizarre. More importantly, they didn't lead to sleep. And now, Dayvigo. A literal nightmare. The first time I took it, I was listening to the TV with my eyes closed, hoping for sleep. I did sleep -- sort of. I thought ten minutes had passed, but it was two hours. I did not feel rested, I did not dream, I had a severe headache. And I couldn't go back to "sleep." I took it four more times and then gave up. Second night, it didn't work at all. Third and fourth nights, it was like I was awake, but time had passed, so I had a rough sort of sleep. Unrestful, headachy, awake-sleep, non-rem sleep. Fifth day, I took 20 mg., and it still didn't work. I gave up."

For Insomnia "I have been taking Dayvigo (5mg) for 2 nights now. My Doctor told me it could take between 4-7 days to work properly. I had been taking Zopiclone 7.5 mg but my Doctor was worried about interactions with my Lupus medication. I go to bed at 10pm and read. I will fall asleep while reading but as soon as I put my book aside I wake up. I will lie awake until 3 am and sleep until 7. This makes my pain intolerable. The Dayvigo I take at 10 and start reading. With in 20 minutes I am very sleepy. I put my book away and sleep until 7 am. No vivid dreams, No anxiety, No side effects so far. Just restful sleep. After night 2 of sleeping my joint pain is nearly gone. My ankles are still sore but my foot pain is gone. I am hopeful this continues to work."

For Insomnia "I take DayVigo 10mg each night for diagnosed chronic insomnia. My doctor prescribed it to me because it’s supposed to be the new top sleep drug. Well it doesn’t work on me. At least not alone. Because it didn’t work on me, my doctor paired it with Quetipine and I have to take them separately at two different times so that the Quetipine has time to activate before taking the DayVigo. To say I have tried nearly everything would be correct but with DayVigo alone - it doesn’t work well with me. Signed, Chronic Insomniac"

For Insomnia "The first few days this gave me sleep paralysis where I would feel like I couldn't breathe and I would just wake up in a panic after trying to fight the sleep paralysis. Then after that it stopped with the sleep paralysis problem but it stopped making me tired and instead just made it really hard for me to fall and stay asleep. Sleeping pills work different for everyone though, so just because I had a bad experience doesn't mean it won't work wonders for someone else."

Groggy. I do wake up to pee and go back to sleep pretty well. I do take medicine for anxiety but lately after taking dayvigo I feel more anxious. Not sure if I will keep taking it."

For Insomnia "This has been a great drug for me. I have tried other insomnia medications in the past and they all made me incredibly groggy the following morning, and/or I rapidly developed a tolerance. Not with this drug. However, in the beginning the effect was not too strong. I had very bad insomnia and irregular sleeping patterns, this drug would help me get to sleep well but then I would wake up just a few hours later. However, I kept taking it and over time it has helped fix my sleep schedule, and I can now fall asleep quickly and stay asleep 7-8 hours with no problem, when I was unable to fix my sleep like this without medication. I have no side effects from this medication. It doesn't hit me hard, it's gentle on 5 mg, and I feel great and well-rested when I wake up."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo paralyzed me and made me trip and it was not fun. Dual Orexin inhibitors are the worst solution for insomnia ever developed. Not only is this med isn't just ineffective it's dangerous. I will stick to Halcion etc. it's ostracized, but is way safer than this nightmare pill."

I tried belsomra didn’t work but on day one I fell asleep shortly after taking it but only 6 hrs then my dr went up to 10 mg I slept for about 7 and a half hours I was shocked. I didn’t feel groggy the next day I’m not cranky and I feel rested"

For Insomnia "This "sleeping aid" gave me sleep paralysis for 6 hours. I experienced extreme discomfort between the sensation of physically wanting to pass out uncontrollably and a superconscious mind that was NOT sleepy at all. Then, the horror began. I was stuck in lucid nightmares, only to "wake up" in dream after dream, like a loop from the underworld that I could not get out of. The worst part was, I couldn't move. Despite my original intention of taking the sleep aid to get some decent rest, I feel the absolute worst that I have EVER been this morning. Take with CAUTION. I took one 5mg oral tablet."

Next day hung over for 8 hours which caused increased anxiety from lack of sleep. Will never take a his class of med ever a gf win. Had tried Belsomra 3 years before. Was never affective."
