For Insomnia "After taking Dayvigo I wake up with headache and I'm groggy till about 1. I never did that with ambien. I stopped taking ambien because I was having memory loss so my doctor loves this sleeping pill better than any cause he says effects different part of the brain. I’ve only taken it 3 times. The best dose is 7 and half milligrams. I can’t deal with being groggy that long or headache but I’m going to stay on and see if I get use to it. Hoping it will be okay!"

For Insomnia "I have used Ambien, Xanax, Klonopin, trazadone, halcion, remeron, hydroxyzine, baclofen, doxycycline, Benadryl, seroquel, the list goes on. None of these have been as effective as Dayvigo. I take it at 11pm each night and it is impossible to stay awake past 30 minutes. No nightmares, no sleep paralysis, just restful sleep with no drugged out side effects. This medication has been a godsend for me. My daily functioning has improved substantially. The best thing is you can take this every night and not become physically dependent like the z drugs and benzos. Have also lost weight on this med."

For Insomnia "In 25 years of taking sedatives in which I have been on everything including Xyrem. This medication paralyzed me and I was having auditory hallucinations. Once I was able to move I took Halcion and clonazepam and went to sleep finally. This ineffective medication should have never been approved by the FDA. Paralysis and hallucinations are not acceptable to me, not to mention it doesn't put you to sleep.NIGHTMARE drug. Good riddance right in the trash."

For Insomnia "5 mg did nothing, but 10 mg was the sweet spot. Folks reading through these reviews, please realize: each person is an individual, with their own lists of medications and issues. What may be horrible for you may not be for me, and vice versa. Anyways, the difference for me with Dayvigo as opposed to trazodone, Ambien, Belsomra, and Lunesta is my ability to wake up but still get back to sleep with ease. My sleep has been consistently solid. One thing I'd note for folks: don't take this and try to stay up/fight it. I wouldn't. The 10 mg dosage is strong. I do my evening routine, take my dose, and go straight to bed, allowing myself no diversions or distractions. Twenty minutes later, I'm out. I hope you have a similar experience, but if you don't, there are other meds. Keep trying, and may your dreams eventually be sweet!"

For Insomnia "I’m 61 and have battled sleep problems since I was a kid. I have been on everything for sleep, including 10 mg of Xanax at night, prescribed by a doctor. I started on Dayvigo, which I suggested to my psychiatrist after reading up about it. It has been a miracle. I sleep well at night. I am alert all day. I’m happy and no longer fear going to sleep as it was a nightly battle. I’ve been on this for almost one year. I cannot stress enough that one should try and stay with this. I hope others find their sleep answers."

For Insomnia "First night trying this useless medicine. Took it two hours ago and I am more awake then when I took it, only now with a miserable headache. Add to that the hefty price (with good rx), $279.00 for 30 useless pills! Why don't Dr's, or in my case nurse practitioner, tell you the prices of medications prior to giving you a sample??!! I would NOT recommend this medication for any reason! I wish I could have given it a zero rating!"

For Insomnia "I have tried literally everything on the market for insomnia. Was using Quetiapine, but I get next day grogginess a lot. My Dr. had some samples of Dayvigo and said it would be a more "natural" sleep and not knock me out. I am very tolerant to almost anything with a sedative effect. It took a while to kick in, but it was the most horrible "sleep" I've ever had. I had horrible, vivid nightmares and when I woke up I felt so drugged. I woke up so much during the night, but was so groggy I couldn't actually get up. It made me restless and I don't ever snore, but my husband had to leave because I was snoring so loud and he said I was sitting up and talking to him but I was obviously asleep. I will NEVER take this again. Throwing them in the trash."

For Insomnia "I want to know how long they researched this drug, and how long the trial lasted, how many people died. I'm definitely going to find a way to spread a warning about this. Don't you know that this drug can cause paralysis? Aren't you worried about the risk that it might cause you to stop breathing in your sleep? Yeah I'm definitely going to make some loud noise about this."

For Insomnia "So I've seen reviews on this drug, I’ll give a real review. I've tried Belsomra first last month, decided to give it a try since nothing else worked. Didn't work for sleep onset, but helped somewhat keep me asleep. This month I tried Dayvigo. First night, it felt like a natural sleepy feeling 40 minutes after I took it. You have to somewhat give in to that sleepiness to fall asleep, but hey, I've been sleeping so well ever since."

For Insomnia "Over the last several years, I have gone through most of the FDA-approved insomnia medications and a plethora of off-label meds as well. Dayvigo has been the most effective at building healthy sleep architecture with no real side effects. Also, after six months, I haven't experienced any tolerance issues or rebounding insomnia."

For Insomnia "This has to be the worst drug. I've taken ambien for over 20 years but my doctor wanted me to switch. He gave me DayVigo - I tried it for a couple of days and it had many side effects. My doctor insisted that I needed to take it for 3 weeks. I’ve taken it for 5 nights and I’ve had the worst nightmares or rather terrors! I have woken myself up every night screaming and in fear. The most lucid violent dreams ever ~ I’ve been murdered every night. And in the day , I have become less functional and feeling depressed. This drug needs to be re-evaluated for safety by the FDA. It is harmful and should be taken off the market. After reading other reviews this looks to he a common complaint. I’d give this drug a zero if I could."

For Insomnia "Dayvigo has given me my life back. Seriously - don't let the negative reviews deter you from trying this medication. I have had insomnia for most of my life and Dayvigo is the first treatment that has worked consistently to help me fall asleep (and stay asleep throughout the night). If I do wake up, I fall back asleep very quickly. The best part is that I wake up feeling fully rested and sharp the following day. A few things I have observed: 1. Try different strengths. 5mg did nothing for me, but 10mg was perfect. 2. Give it some time. The longer I've been on it, the better it has worked. 3. You're going to have some vivid dreams and possibly nightmares. I personally enjoy dreaming! 4. I've personally had zero side effects and it does not interact with my many medications. This is awesome as most sleep medications have a laundry list of side effects/interactions. 5. Don't expect to wake up if someone needs you. Once I'm out, I'm out. I hope this helps!"

For Insomnia "The dual orexin inhibitors are terrible drugs, and they keep releasing new ones despite these drugs getting the lowest ratings of all time. It paralyzed my entire body I couldn't even yell or make a sound and I felt really bizarre. I also tracked my sleep on these pills and I sleep worse on them, and I imagine most people do, but they don't know because they don't track it. Please refuse to even try Dayvigo, Belsomra and Quviviq chances are you will have negative effects and definitely no positive ones. They are also controlled drugs, which makes about as much sense as making Trazadone a schedule 2. It's insane the useless drugs they push on us, and we are insane for taking them. Terrible class of drugs by companies that don't want to develop a new effective sedative it's too hard and cost too much, so you get Dayvigo and you like it"

For Insomnia "Had my first experience of sleep paralysis with this medication last night. It was the most horrible experience. In one night I had 3-4 episodes of the sleep paralysis. There was a time too where I felt like I couldn’t breathe but at the same time I couldn’t move. Never again. Although it did help me fall asleep. 10 mg, what it does is it makes your eyelids sooo heavy that you’re not able to keep them open thereby forcing you to fall asleep"

For Insomnia "Life long insomnia sufferer. Z & benzos became entirely unreliable due to tolerance years ago but rotated them anyway for hope. Very positive experience with DayVigo (10mg) - for me as it improves sleep issues in all respects. My tricks: Empty stomach only. It just won't work for me otherwise. I take it when I go to bed, not when I stay up hoping it will "knock me out." It won't. I have a small window of time for it to gently work for sleep onset, so I get in bed, take it- and I don't ruminate ("Is this working?"). This is critical. I wake up 1-2x/bathroom; fall back asleep (to my own surprise, never happened prior). Insurance denied, so I paid out of pocket, but just too expensive, and returned to my old sleepless self (Belsomra didn't work for me, at all). I discovered the DayVigo coupon works regardless of insurance denial. So, I'm back on it with same success. Rarely- vidid dreams, which I happen to enjoy. No morning hangover for me. Worth a shot. I'm lucky I guess (finally)."

For Insomnia "I have had insomnia my whole life and I haven’t found a long term effective treatment yet. I took Dayvigo 5mg for one night, right at bedtime. (10:30PM) I stayed wide awake all night feeling deeply tired with no possibility of sleep despite following proper sleep hygiene and CBT-I techniques. Eventually around 3AM I was feeling extremely depressed and having suicidal thoughts. These thoughts continued into the next day. For the entire day I felt numb and I now understand what real depression feels like. Otherwise I do not have clinical depression or a history of suicidality by any means. Interesting to note— I have ADHD and I find that stimulants are more likely to help me fall sleep rather than hurt. So perhaps a drug that inhibits wakefulness is not for me in the first place. I’m glad this works for some people, but do be cautious. If you do take it be aware there may be unpleasant side effects and have someone you can talk to."

For Insomnia "I’ve been on 10 mg for 11 days and I haven’t been sleeping any better. I haven’t had any side effects other than a headache. The headache could totally be unrelated so take that for what it’s worth. I hope the drug works much better for other people than it did for me"

For Insomnia "Finally something that works for me :’) !!!! I have tried about 8 different prescriptions in the last 3 years for parasomnia sleep disorder. Most have either not kept me asleep, or I end up feeling hungover, slow, and dumb the following day. I was a little nervous at first trying Dayvigo since it’s new to the market, but it is an absolute godsend. I feel rested, I sleep, I stay asleep, and I can function the next day. I do not feel disoriented on this medication. It is also the most articulate I’ve felt in a very long time, mostly due to the grogginess/cloudiness other sleep medications have caused me. I do not get nightmares from Dayvigo either. It will require a preauthority at your pharmacy because it is a very expensive drug. Mine ended up getting covered due to my long history of other sleep medications that did not work. I am shocked at how little side effects I experience on Dayvigo. Please try it !!!"

For Insomnia "I have taken Dayvigo once so far. I fell asleep right away. I woke up once to use the bathroom. But I fell right back to sleep. However I did wake up 2 am for no reason, took some time to get back to sleep. Woke up 630 as m, had to go back to sleep till 830 as I was not fully awake. I was waking up 1 am, 3 am, 4 am. So I guess I would consider this a victory. However I cant be sleeping till 830 every morning."

For Insomnia "A terrifying experience. Only tried it one time, but it was enough for me. Weird nightmares started after about 2 hours of taking it. Then, I started experiencing several sleep paralysis episodes with high heart rate and shortness of breath sensations. It was just like horror movie being played in my head. I am a 35 years old male. Under amitriptiline and zopiclone as treatment for insomnia. (Sleep issues started about a year ago. During the pandemic)."

For Insomnia "I’ve been on 5mg of Dayvigo for a week now and I get restless legs, vivid racing thoughts and a headache. I finally fall asleep 1-2 hrs after taking it. Sometimes the restless legs stay with me through out the night. It’s not like Ambien which relaxed me and put me to sleep within 20mins and I woke really, really refreshed. I’m bummed as I was hopeful as I have chronic insomnia."

For Insomnia "I have finally found a sleeping med that does what it promotes. To me battling disturbed sleeping patterns and plain ole insomnia. This is literally a miracle sleep pill. No crucial hangover, did experience vivid dreams my first night but does also help my PTSD related insomnia and keeps my sleeping hours straight. Best to take on an empty stomach I suggest. I would give this 15 stars if possible. Thank God for Dayvigo."

For Insomnia "I have the best experience with this drug. I experienced no side effect at all with the 5mg dose and I am able to fall asleep in less than hour. Most importantly (and that was my main problem), when I am taking Dayvigo, I am able to fall back asleep if I wake up during the night. Best night of sleep in a decade. I recommend everyone struggling with insomnia to try it."

For Insomnia "My new insurance company, in its infinite wisdom, decided not to approved a med I had been on for years for insomnia - Belsomra. They did approve Dayvigo which from what I can tell is relatively new. I fall asleep quickly, but wake up after a short time (30 mins to an hour) and can't go back to sleep. I've been on it for 2 months and told my doc enough. Just another example of an insurance company 'fixing' something that wasn't broken. I think I can get a Belsomra coupon...so will go that route if the ins. co. refuses to cover."

For Insomnia "I started taking this medication last night. Started with the 5mg dose which made me a little drowsy, and I finally went to sleep but it took awhile. I soon woke up but went back to sleep easily. I started with the free ten day trial prescription. Gonna give it some time and see what happens after the ten days. Maybe it takes time to get into your system."
