Reviews for Dayvigo
"I have had very bad insomnia for years. I have tried everything. Ambien and Lunesta make me forget everything. I started on Dayvigo 5mg and found that it made me feel like I was in a trance and I had some GI issues, HOWEVER, once I increased it to the 10mg dose, I feel asleep fast, get very restful sleep. Have no side effects, and while I may not sleep 8 hours each night, the sleep that I am getting is more restful. It feels like I am sleeping naturally like I did once upon a time!"
"I have never been able to just lay down and sleep. As I child I hated going to bed because of that. I have tried everything, Ambien, flurazepam, every holistic sleep aid with little or no help. Even if I eventually fall asleep, I don't stay asleep. My doctor gave me the Dayvigo 5mg sample box, advising I take one to begin, which I did. I slept like a baby. I woke up seven hours later to go the bathroom and went back to bed and slept another 3 hours. I was so sleep deprived. I feel a little groggy from sleeping so much and glad I didn't take two of the 5mg. I am beyond happy to find something that works for me."
"BEWARE. DO NOT USE DAYVIGO. I've been taking Ambien 10mg for approx 1.5 years and had no issues. My doctor suggested Dayvigo as an alternative. I gave it a go. Took the 10mg version 1 time and had the worst sleep of my life. The onset feeling was dizziness and very heavy eyes, I was laying down in bed and attempted to sleep. Within minutes, I experienced tremendous amounts of anxiety, feeling of racing heart, heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, headache, restlessness, agitation. It felt as if I was on an upper and a downer at the same time. I tossed and turned. It was a miserable experience. After about 1.5 hrs of taking it, I forced myself to throw up in an attempt to rid my body of this toxin. This accomplished nothing as the drug had already been absorbed in my bloodstream. I drank a lot of water and ate food to try and minimize the drugs effects. The half life for Dayvigo 10mg is 19 hrs! So I'll have to be patient while my body metabolizes this awful substance."
"I would not give this drug to my worst enemy. I have struggled with insomnia since I was prescribed lexapro 3 years ago. I have tried many sleeping pills-all just do not sit well with me-eventually become ineffective. My psychiatrist gave me a sample of Davigo and I took it for the first time last night-5mg. Needless to say, I literally thought I it was the end of me. Took it around 10pm-30 minutes later I felt very dizzy and could hardly move. My heart was racing and consistently felt out of breath. I would have to consciously tell my body to move-it took several minutes to just lift a finger. I was so scared to sleep because I thought I was going to die-was up until 4am just praying I would make it through the night. If I would have taken 10mg I don’t know if I would be here. Please be cautious. I would rather never sleep again than to take this pill again. I’m still shaken up today."
"I have severe insomnia and have had no luck with Ambien, Lunesta, trazadone, and others. None of them worked. Dayvigo did. I have finally gotten sleep. No side effects. The first day I was a little groggy but that went away the next day. I do wake up a few times in the night to go pee but I fall back to sleep quickly which has NEVER happened for me. I hope this works for other people too. Oh I take the 10 mg pill."
"Tried a lot of sleep meds and this is what works best for me. Belsomra is good too. I take 5mg and prozosin at night before bed. They work good together think I may need to go up to 10mg though after I get adjusted. Been about 3 weeks or so now and it really does work. Prozosin helps with night terrors so I don't get any of that but I will say I was a bit "high" the first few days of adjustment when I woke up. No crazy side effects just a bit of a headache here and there but that's pretty normal on new sleep meds. I would recommend you try it if others are not working for you! I won't say it's "miracle cure" but works better than anything else has for me. Idk what all these bad reviews are about it so just keep an open mind is all I will say. Never hurts to try and get off if it's not for you. Hope this helps someone. Insomnia sucks. Sleep well everyone"
"I am on Day 7 of the 10-day trial pack. I have been suffering from Insomnia for 24 years. My most recent medication quit working after 15 years (Clonazepam). My doctor gave me the Dayvigo sample pack to try. It immediately made me fall asleep within 20 minutes. I wake up 1-2 times in the night to urinate. I am immediately able to fall back asleep which I’ve never been able to do on any of the previous meds I’ve taken. I sleep anywhere between 7-10 hours with Dayvigo. So far, I’m impressed and will request a prescription."
"Two years into trying script after script, all had side effects and reactions to other meds. Dayvigo has been by far the worst. Extreme nightmares and even worse, sleep paralysis. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC, THE MOST TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! Never again! I'm done with this stuff, I rather have three hours of restless sleep than this mind tripping."
"Female, 66.5 yrs old, about 107 lbs. I started using Dayvigo in June of 2020; began at 5mg, went up to 10mg the following month. After a while I began to wake up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. So I started cutting the 10mg pills in half, taking 5mg at bedtime, and the 2nd 5mg after I got up to use the bathroom. That worked for me. Though after a month or two like this, I only needed the initial 5mg at bedtime, and could easily go back to sleep, even if I got up during the night multiple times. At this point I don't have any side-effects. I've been using Davigo 9 months, and I'm happy with it. I'm really sorry for those of you with bad experiences; some of them sound terrible! Before Davigo, I had used Ativan, and also Klonopin (and herbal meds, which were ineffective), but my husband and I were concerned about serious addiction. Partly my insomnia resulted from PTS, and also post-menopause. We have good insurance and it only costs $60 a month."
"I was prescribed Dayvigo after trying and falling everything under the sun (no pun intended), and nothing worked. The 10 mg dose was given to me because of my history with chronic and near debilitating insomnia. I can say after trying the full 10-day sample box I was given by my doctor that this medication WORKS. I used to take Ambien, but it lost its affect after about 30 days."
"I have been taking Dayvigo 10 mg for one month now and the only side effect is very vivid and bold dreaming. I wake up to go pee 1-2 times but I am able to fall back asleep very easily. I have worked nights as a nurse for 15 years and this medication works the best out of any I have tried. I am able to wake up easily with no grogginess throughout my shifts. I was able to get a sample packet from my primary care provider that had a 12 month savings card, medication is only costing me $30 a month for the next 12 months. My insurance would not cover any of the cost. When my 12 months is up, not sure I will be able to continue or afford this medication as the cost out of pocket will be $322 a month :( I sleep well on Dayvigo but I’m not willing to shell out $322 a month for it."
"I’ve been taking ambien 10 mg everyday for the past year. My dr wanted me to try Dayvigo. I’ve been taking for the past 3 nights and have not been able to fall asleep a single night - at all. I’m so exhausted. My entire body feels weak and restless. I haven’t felt drugged or affected at all even after taking the 10 mg. I’ve laid in bed just tossing and turning. I’ve cut down on caffeine and screen time to help with sleep hygiene, as well but still can’t sleep. I’ve tried to nap during the day but still just can’t fall asleep. My experience on this medication hasn’t been good. Hopefully everyone else has a better sleep and better experience than I have."
"I thought I went I had dropped into a live-in nightmare 2 times in one night. It scared me so bad when I finally woke up I swore I would never take this drug again. It was the most horrific dreams I've ever had. I took 1. 5 mil pill. I'm still shook up after taking this drug. I hope this helps some one. It is not for me. I have never been scared of meds un till now"
"Dayvigo has worked really well for me! I have been on the 5mg for a week or so and it has helped me fall asleep. I only wake up once to use the restroom. I feel so rested and calm the next day. I just upped my medicine to 10mg to see, and I think that may be too much for me. I plan to cut the pill in half to stick with the 5mg dosage. I would say give it time to work. (Also it doesn’t knock you out like other sleep aids, since it is working with a different part of the brain)."
"Took Dayvigo last night and decided then it would be a good time to research this medication. My sleep was comparable to every negative review on this page. I had incredibly vivid and stressful dreams and was woken multiple times during the night with the most unpleasant physical sensation. So discouraged that this medicine is highly pushed by doctors as a superior alternative to other z-drugs."
"I want to know how long they researched this drug, and how long the trial lasted, how many people died. I'm definitely going to find a way to spread a warning about this. Don't you know that this drug can cause paralysis? Aren't you worried about the risk that it might cause you to stop breathing in your sleep? Yeah I'm definitely going to make some loud noise about this."
"Since I've been taking this Dayvigo I've been getting headaches having memory loss and burning stabbing pains in my feet and bad joint pain in my legs. This medicine is the worst thing I think it should be taken off the market, some of the bad affects aren't even listed"
"Drug worked fast. Slept comfortably through the night. No vivid dreams. No nightmares. Not sure how people say it’s the worst drug and should be taken off the market? Dayvigo is a useful sleep aid and I’m really skeptical about all of the reviews that give it 1 out of 10."
"I took the first tablet last night, I was restless did not sleep (may be slept for less than one hour) it is just not helping at all, Dayvigo is another failure just like Belsomra, and Rozarem. they do not help with Insomnia"
"I took my first 5 mg Dayvigo two nights ago. After 90 min sleep I awakened with horror as I hallucinated crazy scary dream. Felt paralyzed to move. Wanted to scream and could not make a sound. Was able to touch my husband's arm and waken him. He said he never saw such terror in my eyes. Sat with me 2 hours until I was over it. Never again. The med would have cost 70$ for a month but I was able to get a free 10 day supply."
"First night trying this useless medicine. Took it two hours ago and I am more awake then when I took it, only now with a miserable headache. Add to that the hefty price (with good rx), $279.00 for 30 useless pills! Why don't Dr's, or in my case nurse practitioner, tell you the prices of medications prior to giving you a sample??!! I would NOT recommend this medication for any reason! I wish I could have given it a zero rating!"
"Dayvigo 5mg. Dr. Advised to take in bed. First night, headache. No sleep. Second night, headache worse, pacing, swore I had to make myself stop thinking strange things. Third night, same only now agitated and on edge. No sleep. Fourth night I went back to my old meds and called my Dr . Not a drug for this insomniac."
"In 25 years of taking sedatives in which I have been on everything including Xyrem. This medication paralyzed me and I was having auditory hallucinations. Once I was able to move I took Halcion and clonazepam and went to sleep finally. This ineffective medication should have never been approved by the FDA. Paralysis and hallucinations are not acceptable to me, not to mention it doesn't put you to sleep.NIGHTMARE drug. Good riddance right in the trash."
"Dayvigo works for me. At first I was skeptical because I had not had success with most other insomnia medications, but I found relief on Dayvigo very quickly. I hope it continues to work. I will be refilling."
"I have taken this medication for the past four nights as I have not been able to sleep for more than three hours a night in the past year. Unfortunately for me, this medication did not improve my situation at all. I felt really drowsy within 30 minutes of taking it and fell asleep quickly but I woke up 1 hour later and still only slept a total of three hours. This medication was really useless for me."
