For High Blood Pressure "I plan to go off of Irbesartan as soon as possible after reading these reviews. I am a young 71-year-old female and have been on 300 mg of Irbesartan for approximately 6 months after quitting Valsartan. So excited tonight after reading all of these reviews! I feel like maybe I can get to feeling well again! I have had so many stomach problems in the later years since starting Valsartan and even much worse after going on Irbesartan - aching, bloating, burning, and nausea. I have had such horrible foot, hip, and leg cramps also. I get only a few hours of sleep each night. I used to be such a very energetic person and I have been so very tired since going on these medications, maybe even a little depressed. There's so many things I want to get done and I have had such low energy, which is not like me. I have had problems driving at night from the horrible glare of headlights and night blindness. I am, however, so very appreciative of these reviews! Thank you!"

Irbesartan for High Blood Pressure "Recently had to up my dose, and had to take it at bedtime because of dizziness. I noticed I was not feeling well and thought I was fighting off some bug, but it continued. I noticed that the nausea and headache occurred after taking my nighttime dose of Avapro. When I quit taking it, I felt fine."

Irbesartan for High Blood Pressure "I was prescribed Avapro by a neurologist this month for consistent mild high blood pressure and numbness in hands and left foot. Also, an MRI, which I had today, to exclude cervical stenosis. I am already MTHFR genetic mutation that depletes vitamin B12, folate, vitamin B6. I have had increasing numbness in my left hand on waking and general weakness and strength. Since taking Avapro, symptoms have gotten worse. I am tired with depleted energy, nauseated, aching hips, disturbed sleep even with a sleep apnea machine. Just saw my doctor who suggested taking Avapro in the evening as that’s when my BP is the highest."

For High Blood Pressure "Just switched to calcium channel blocker type meds over this type. Valsartan (now recalled) and irbesartan both caused weird nausea issues (mostly exertion-induced - couldn't exercise in any way without feeling nauseous) and general malaise after about 2 months of use. Lightheadedness kicked in at about 4-5 months, and started to get significantly worse after about 1-2 weeks of manifestation."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been on irbesartan 150 mg for 2.5 years, and the side effects have been terrible. I have been experiencing nausea, headaches, heart palpitations, nervousness, and shortness of breath. At first, I thought my body would ultimately adjust to the drug, but some of the symptoms did decrease but were still present. The pressure was not controlled, and my readings were still high. After reading these reviews, I feel much better knowing I am not alone and I am not crazy. I would explain my symptoms to my doctor, and he would act like it's just in my mind and I should try relaxing methods. I am coming off this drug as I can't be feeling this sick all the time, that's ridiculous."

Irbesartan for High Blood Pressure "I've quit using Avapro after three days. I am someone who has had chemo, but the side effects of Avapro were worse: slept almost all day, no appetite, night and sometimes day sweats, nausea, difficulty urinating."

For High Blood Pressure "Taking this medication as the combination irbesartan + hydrochlorothiazide. After graduating from 150 mg to 300 mg dosage, I find this medication does no longer control my BP. Side effects are fatigue, stomach pain, and nausea. Unfortunately, I can't take calcium channel blockers as an alternative because of the painful side effects of edema."
