For Hepatitis C "I was terrified to start this medicine. But much to my surprise, the experience so far is great! I haven't had any side effects except some slight nausea when waking up on the first two days, but that passed quickly. Highly recommend this drug if you have hep C!"

For Hepatitis C "I've had Hep C for about 20 years with minimal side effects, so it was easy to forget about. I'm 42 and just recently started to feel tired and sluggish, so I figured I should talk to my primary doctor about treatment. With all of the new medication out there, it was a no-brainer. My insurance approved my Mavyret treatment, and I've been taking it for about 8 days now. I have definite side effects from it: headaches and pretty terrible nausea, and an all-around crappy and tired feeling. The nausea is almost nonstop, but the tired feeling seems to come on shortly after I take the medicine and lasts for several hours. Regardless of the side effects, I still feel blessed to have been approved for this treatment."

For Hepatitis C "True to what it is meant to do, but this medicine was a complete nightmare. I was on the couch for the majority of my 8 weeks. 2 hours after taking a dose, I would be falling asleep anywhere. Unable to keep my eyes open, and that was only the beginning. At the halfway mark of my 8 weeks, I started to get nausea and horrible headaches. On top of that, diarrhea sometimes, with the worst stomach pain. The worst part was the chest pain and chest tightness that lasted for a week. Went to the hospital and was told nothing was wrong. I dealt with it thinking it's just 4 more weeks. Now I have just finished my treatment as of 3 days ago, and the aftereffects are worse. I am running to the bathroom all day, trying to take it easy through the chest tightness, and just straight-up feel overwhelming anxiety, which is yet another side effect the doctor swore could not be from this medicine, like the chest pain. But others have it too, so maybe it's time to change that side effects list."

For Hepatitis C "I've taken Mavyret now for 7 weeks. With the exception of constipation, weight gain, and nausea, my first blood test has shown that my viral load has decreased substantially. Those side effects are nothing compared to living with a disease like hep C. I can't give a definite answer with this medication, but so far, so good. Let's pray it does the job in the end."

For Hepatitis C "I’m on week 4 of Mavyret, and I take it at night. I was diagnosed with hep C genotype 1a in 2015. I have battled mild depression/anxiety before taking this drug, however, since being on it, the depression/anxiety has gotten significantly worse. So, I started an antidepressant 4 days ago. I just noticed today in the shower that I’m also experiencing hair loss. I have had incredibly low energy the past 2 weeks and some nausea and diarrhea since starting this Mavyret. But I am so grateful to finally have an opportunity to try this medication in hopes of a cure."

For Hepatitis C "Day 7 on Mavyret and have had mild side effects. Some headaches and light nausea. Was really nervous to take this but so glad I’ve started. Going well so far. Side effects totally manageable. A little tired and seem to wind easily but still working out with a trainer. Keep you posted for week 2!"

For Hepatitis C "So I am 3 weeks in. I take mine right before bed and woke up throughout the night with diarrhea and would have a weird intense headache in the first week. After that, I felt fine, but today is kind of rough. I missed a dose because I was too nauseous to eat. So I took it this morning, and it’s not going very well. Major stomach issues and vomiting. I may have a stomach bug because it’s very intense to the point I can’t go to work. I just wanted to see if these symptoms are common, and I see they are just not so intense. I have to remind myself how lucky I am to have the chance to take such an expensive medication to change my life, so this is a small price to pay."

For Hepatitis C "I have been taking Mavyret for 8 weeks, and I feel super tired. Completely drained to do anything. My body hurts, and sometimes I get sharp pains in my side. I get severe migraines. I have lost all my energy. I am waiting to go and take blood work to find out if it worked. I take 3 pills at night."

For Hepatitis C "I've started Mavyret 1 week ago. I'm on a 12-week prescription. At the beginning, I had slight headaches, nausea, but not too bad as of now. I'm having irritating itching, but am grateful to be on the medicine. Looking forward to a clean bill of health at the end of treatment."

For Hepatitis C "Have just been approved for Mavyret. Presumably infected in 1969 after being transfused with 17 pints of blood during emergency surgery... no IV drugs, tattoos, or piercings... not even ears. Learned of the infection in the late '90s after donating blood. Symptom-free and a low viral count since I started following this thing. Interferon and ribavirin for 18 months (!!) in the late '90s. Was brutal. Virus went undetected but returned. Insurer refused to approve Harvoni, MD said because my viral load was too low. Would like to hear more from people who report symptoms similar to Interferon: aches, joint pain, brain fog, nausea, headache, hair loss. I had them all with Interferon/ribavirin. Not supposed to happen with this drug. Waiting to see if I can get some help with the cost. Will be reporting back when I begin my 8-week program. Doc wanted me to do 12 weeks because of the relapse, but insurance would only cover 8. I'm very hopeful."

For Hepatitis C "Just finished week 2 of Mavyret. The side effects I do have are very weird! So far, no headaches or nausea, and I'd say only 2 out of 7 days are bad or crappy ones. Most days I feel fine! Side effects I've experienced so far are hot, burning in my face, dizziness, achy sore body, fatigue, and just a weird anxious, disassociated feeling. Also, today I am feeling a weird feeling in my hands and other extremities that is hard to explain. I've gotten two episodes of really bad anxiety, but they passed. Sometimes I feel like I have icy hot on my hands and body, and restless limbs. But I am so glad I haven't felt any nausea or headaches! It's flying by, and I am so happy to have this all over with soon."

For Hepatitis C "Week two - have no liver damage or fibrosis. Initial count of 7 million. Have had the usual reported side effects, headache, nausea, etc. I already suffer from abdominal issues and chronic diarrhea, so difficult to pinpoint whether or not the drug has made things worse. We are currently in the middle of an excruciating heat wave, so thought my worsening symptoms were a result of heat exhaustion. My usual diarrhea, tummy pain along with chills, fever. When the projectile vomiting and muscle cramps started... so. I was 108 pounds when I started treatment, I am now 103. I put that down to dehydration, inability to eat for the last two days, etc. I intend to stay the course, as there is some concern that this may be immuno hep C."

For Hepatitis C "Took Mavyret for 2 months, only got headaches and nausea the first few days of taking, then nothing after the first week. Got first blood test halfway through the meds and the virus was gone. Got blood test 3 months after finishing, and the Hep C virus is still gone and I am now cured. Miracle drug!!!"

For Hepatitis C "Just finished my first 7 days, no side effects at all. Actually, I chose to take mine in the evening as I was afraid of the fatigue, and it's the opposite. Make sure you take with a meal, as it also increases the effectiveness and keeps you feeling nauseated. I cannot wait to see how well it's working in a couple of weeks."

For Hepatitis C "It all started with a strange feeling in the stomach area, nausea but no vomiting, then continued anxiety-like depressive symptoms in parallel, a rash on the inside of the hand, and constant cracking of the lips and even bleeding, and finally fatigue, lethargy, and absolute lack of strength. I have not had an appetite for 4 years and lost about 10 kg, from 68 kg to 58 kg. ALT and AST liver enzyme indicators were raised, so hepatitis tests were done, and the diagnosis was hepatitis C 1GEN. I got Mavyret for 8 weeks of treatment, which is financed in the EU. The strangest thing is that doctors deny my side effect symptoms. I decided to take the medicine in the evening with dinner, it is very important to drink plenty of water throughout the day, eat healthy, and avoid alcohol. I hardly felt any side effects except weakness, diarrhea, and nausea. It is now 4 months after treatment, I am still being treated for liver fibrosis F2 and often have diarrhea. I hope it will pass, and I feel so good. Therefore, the disease is not as innocent as the doctor."

For Hepatitis C "I am on my first day of Hep C. I have had it for about 5 months, and when I first got diagnosed, my genotype levels were way too low to start. When I went back 2 months later, they increased, and she wanted to start me on Mavyret. I received this medication today and took the 3 pills tonight, and so far, so good. I feel slight nausea. I am extremely happy I got approved. I will post an update on side effects and how I am feeling."

For Hepatitis C "I am a 34-year-old male from Mexico, 1.68m living in Germany. I’ve had Hepatitis C since 1986 after getting a blood transfusion during surgery. Got HCV diagnosed in 2014 and couldn't do anything because of the high cost of the medicines. In 2018, I moved to Germany. I had forgotten about my HCV because the doctors in Mexico told me that the virus in my liver may be sleeping. I am on my 5th week of 8 with Mavyret and absolutely no side effects. I take the doses daily at 11 AM with breakfast. Perhaps in the 2nd week, for two days, I felt nausea, but nothing major. Also, the first three days, I felt very slight dizziness, also not major, and lately only when I lie in bed, I sleep suddenly as if tired, but this does not happen when doing normal activities. I feel that my stool is back to normal, I mean I no longer have diarrhea-like stool after eating spicy foods. My liver showed signs of early fibrosis."

For Hepatitis C "So I started Mavyret 2 days ago, and so far my symptoms have been headache, fatigue, slight confusion, and dizziness. But other than that, it's going okay so far. I'm the type of person that my stomach gets upset very easily if I don't eat or if I work too hard. I need to eat more often, so I'm really hoping that this stuff doesn't mess with my stomach. So far, I haven't been nauseous, and I really hope that I don't get nauseous. But I will come back in 8 weeks when I complete and give an update. Anything is possible, you just got to keep trying."

For Hepatitis C "I’m on week 7, and at first wasn’t too bad. I take it at night with dinner. I feel drained and have been having sickness in the morning. It's weird, honestly. If I eat and drink, then I’m usually fine, but if I wait, then I feel sick and will get sick. But there are some mornings I wake up and get sick as soon as I wake up. I read about how it can make you feel nauseated, so it's better to take at night. I guess it is different for everyone. Oh yes, the thirst is real! Lol, when I wake up, I need a water hose connected to my mouth."

For Hepatitis C "I have hepatitis C, gen. 3. I am a 31-year-old female. I found out I had Hep C when I was pregnant. I had my baby 10 weeks ago, the baby is healthy. I am on day 6 of Mavyret. I have experienced some pretty uncomfortable symptoms so far. Right after I take the Mavyret at night with a meal, I experience dry mouth, extreme fatigue, nausea. The next day I am very tired and have some stomach issues and am very tired. I know it’s worth it to keep going, so I will finish the medicine for the 8 weeks. I just hope there are no lasting ailments afterward."

For Hepatitis C "I'm on week 2 of Mavyret. I take it at 9 pm with a meal and drink plenty of fluids. So far, it seems to be working alright. The side effects I've experienced have been nausea, a slight headache, and tiredness. It has seemed that my menstrual cycle is heavier than normal, but I think it's due to the meds and my body fighting the hep C. I should be getting blood work done once I finish the first half of treatment. I will update and let everyone know how things are going."

For Hepatitis C "I’ve had hepatitis C for 30 years. I have also had Hep B. I was told that there had been cases where my Hep B could reoccur. That could be very dangerous. But the benefits of being cured of hepatitis C outweighed the chance. I will be checked on and have been informed of any signs of Hep B reoccurring. I am on day 9 of Mavyret treatment. I am grateful for the opportunity of being cured. I have had a headache, a bit of nausea, but it has seemed to calm down. Last night and today I’ve been having some cramping in my stomach area. If it continues, I’ll call the doctor. I will stay in touch with my journey."

For Hepatitis C "I had hep C for over 30 years. Started to really not feel well, and my Dr. said my hep C levels were so high he didn't know if I would respond to treatment. Now, after 8 weeks and having finished the treatment, oh, after 4 weeks had blood work and no hep C detected. I do feel a little better, and I did have fatigue, headache, and nausea. I actually only completed the treatment 2 days ago and am hoping to start feeling better like I did when the virus was dormant."

For Hepatitis C "I finished an 8-week treatment on 2/4. I was terrified before taking them, mainly due to a mistrust in medicine. The first 3 days were the worst of it. I experienced severe lower chest/upper abdominal pain. I thought I was having a heart attack or something. I was in the fetal position and hunched over in excruciating pain. I called the pharmacy and my doctor, and they felt strongly that it was severe heartburn. The only thing that seemed to keep the pain subsided was grazing every hour or two and staying hydrated. I also always took it with a big glass of milk and a savory meal. It took the first 3 days for me to figure it all out, but when I did, it was glorious! The rest was a breeze! I was less nauseated and fatigued while taking the medication than before I was taking it. The most difficult part for me, other than the first 3 days, was my fear/difficulty with medication and swallowing pills. I am excited to get my first blood test on Mondays!"

For Hepatitis C "I am a recovering addict with opioid-assisted treatment using methadone. I have been on Mavyret for the beginning of my 4th week now. I have genotype 2 Hep C, 1 year sober. 5 ft 10, 300 lbs approx. This medicine I am determined to finish. I live in silent fear every day that I won't be able to withstand the symptoms, however, my thought process is I have spent THIS LONG sick from using, getting sober, and dealing with Hep C symptoms, so I am fully capable of spending eight weeks in dismay taking a drug to make that ALL go away. I was told type 2 is one of the easier Hep C genotypes to cure, and I work overnight, so I take my meds before bed in the morning with food. I also don't smoke cigs anymore, I think that helps because the nausea and vomiting really suck, with the adverse sensitivity to smells and food right now too. Some days I have no appetite and feel terrible, and other days I have so much energy and I feel so good I don't remember the last time I felt this way. My depression has improved."
