Evolocumab for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "24 hours after my injection, I had a really bad sore throat and runny nose. Within 48 hours, I was in pain everywhere, and by the third day, I couldn't even walk upstairs. I was in the worst pain of my life, my throat was so bad I literally felt like I injected myself with poison. I feel like this drug should be taken off the market, this is the worst I have ever felt."

Evolocumab for High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I have been on Repatha for 12 months. I had 1 hour of sleep a night for 2 months, but I am back to normal now. Before I started it, I was not able to do any lifting without collapsing due to heart disease. I can now do anything I used to, and recently underpinned my house by hand. It seems like a miracle drug, but my cholesterol seems to be going back up. It started at 9, went down to 4.1 after starting Repatha, but is now 5.3. Still okay but worried about the future, will it keep going up again? I am now starting to get pain in my knees. I live in England, so I receive the drug on the NHS, so I don't know the cost of the drug."

Evolocumab for High Cholesterol "I was on rosuvastatin for several years, started with some cramps here and there. But over time, it became worse, a lot worse. I was at the point I could barely walk, I went off my med, and a week later, I was up on my feet. Then I decided to go back on the rosuvastatin again to double-check. Within 3 days, all the pain came back. I took myself off it. Went to my doctor and was put on Repatha, in 5 months, my cholesterol dropped from about 200 to 133. No more pain, I'm up walking to the grocery store and around the neighborhood. Still need to get it down further, though."

Evolocumab for High Cholesterol, Familial Homozygous "Have suffered with worry for 12 years. Off and on statins which I cannot tolerate. Zetia is poison to the mind. Cholesterol 346 9/23, 263 2/24. Started Repatha 3/24..wait for it...180. Yes. Has been a lifesaver. Does not cause pain or cross blood-brain barrier causing depression or brain fog. I feel so much better and getting over the injection part is gradual. I recommend Repatha Sureclick to anyone that has suffered statin side effects like I have including small fiber neuropathy in my feet from Crestor. Repatha is a wonder drug."

For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Because of too little effect of three different statins, the cardiologist referred me to take up Repatha (very good service surrounding the application, by the way). I was not really aware of problems, it seemed fine after the first two injections. However, I started Repatha just before a four-week break from work. Slept a lot these weeks, walked more. The pain in my legs I thought was caused by hikes, and drowsiness because of really relaxing. Upon return home and after my third injection now, things seem to get worse: have problems concentrating, listlessness, urge to sleep two to three times during the day, stiffness, and blurry sight that comes and goes. I also suffer from asthma, since my second injection, I have greatly increased cough and inflammation. Just found this site, and many of the symptoms reported here I recognized. Being an academic with access to current medical literature, I looked for recent research. New independent reviews and medical publications give rise to be suspicious about the use of PCSK9 inhibitors."

Evolocumab for High Cholesterol "I have been taking Repatha for about 18 months now. To start with, 140 mg injection once a month and then each 14 days. At first, reactions like Hyde’s. But persisted. Today, I could not be happier. No reaction and LDL level down to 0.7. This drug has saved me as I cannot take statins. Statins caused peripheral neuropathy, trouble standing and walking, pain, and forgetfulness. A neurologist diagnosed my statin-induced peripheral neuropathy. All I can say is I am so happy I kept at the treatment and am so thankful to the drug company for this amazing medication. I accept it is not suitable for everyone, but it is for me."
