Evolocumab for High Cholesterol "Been on all the statins. My body is unable to tolerate them. The worst being Lipitor. It is a horror drug and was a current affair program in Australia some years ago. Unfortunately, my diet has a limited impact. Triple bypass and three stents further down the track, I felt doomed. Then my new cardiologist suggested this Repatha. Great! And it worked wonders for me, and there appeared to be no side effects other than a nose drip when I did physical stuff. Been on it for approximately three or so years, and it helped keep my cholesterol in check. But in the last six or so months, I have been feeling more fatigue, plagued with lightheadedness, a rubbery weak sensation in my legs, arms at times feeling weakish, along with a head fog. I now suspect it being Repatha. Been on a plant-based diet and now just try that on its own."

For High Cholesterol "After a profound ADR to statins with confirmed motor neuron disease, resolving after discontinuation, I managed chronically elevated cholesterol with diet, exercise, niacin, and Zetia; however, I was never able to reach the desired target levels for LDL and was started on Repatha 7 months ago. After two doses, I noted multiple low-grade but rather obvious constellation of symptoms, all listed on the Repatha drug information. None were debilitating at that time as they are presently. After a dramatic lowering of my LDL (160 to 50), I elected to stay on and see if the symptoms abated; however, they never did. A common thread in the patient reports herein, as well as in my experience, is the insidious nature of these symptoms, including easy muscle soreness/fatigue with activity, reduced athletic endurance, back pain, stiffness, general fatigue, and a general feeling of rapid aging and unwellness. I am due for my 8th injection next week and will not be taking any more, only hoping that I can recover to my baseline."

Evolocumab for High Cholesterol "I am a 60-year-old male. Very fit and active. Family history of very high cholesterol led me to a triple bypass last year. Tried statins (all of them) for years with little reduction in my cholesterol. On Repatha now for almost a year. Worked beautifully to lower my cholesterol to almost nothing. Have some minor side effects I attribute to this medication (neck muscle tension pain, fatigue). But without it, my bypass plumbing would soon clog, and I would be a dead man. Of course, I will keep taking it. By the way, if it isn't obvious, this forum isn't scientific. Nobody should make a decision about whether to take this (or any) medication based on what they read here. The reason is, most respondents are here precisely because of their side effects. Thus, feedback from folks like me, who have had a generally positive experience, is fewer. Listen to your doctor."

Evolocumab for High Cholesterol "I just read some of these comments and cannot relate to them. I started on Repatha and my LDL went from high 90s to 24, and I was very happy. Other than old age pains and pains from statins, which I have been working with my doctor to reduce, it might be causing, it seems I am taking something different from what I have read in these comments. It does what was expected. It lowered my LDL and cholesterol. I am monitoring my fatigue, but I believe it is work-related and caused by my gym being closed for one year now. I have read scientific articles on the drug and have not come across these other comments. Age mid-70s."
