For Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I was prescribed Repatha for high cholesterol and cardiovascular risk reduction. I tried many statins and Zetia, which all caused muscle and joint pain, along with severe abdominal pain. I was prescribed Repatha a month ago. After the first injection, I felt a little sick about 3 days later. I attributed this to the bugs going around. After the second injection, I became severely sick, foggy-headed, weak, and developed muscle and joint pain, I couldn't even use my right arm due to shoulder pain. I have stopped taking Repatha, but from what I read, it will take several weeks to get out of my body."

For High Cholesterol "Had high cholesterol (250+) for years. Because of Inclusion Body Myositis arm and leg weakness, no statin drugs, niacin, or Zetia could be taken. My doctors wanted me to take Repatha because they felt that it would be OK for me. The Repatha website did not show any side effects of 'muscle weakness.' I called a nurse at Amgen, maker of Repatha, and she said they had no reports of muscle weakness. Ordered Repatha. Pharmacy script and info sheet in the packaging from Amgen did not mention any muscle weakness issues. Started 140 mg/ml injections on September 30, 2021, every two weeks. I did notice some weakness, however, the bloodwork just prior to the fourth injection showed excellent reduction in most cholesterol numbers. With doctor's approval, went to three-week injections. I had several bad falls, very weak. Prior to starting Repatha, I only raised my lift chair halfway. After the seventh injection, I was lifting to the top after adding a 4-inch pad to the seat. Very hard to walk or get out of my high-seat rollator. Stopped Repatha."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "Have been taking Repatha for two months, with an injection every two weeks. Almost immediately began to feel the malaise, sinus pressure, dry eyes, and leg weakness. After the last two injections, began to have severe low back pain, pain in both hips, and increasing numbness in both feet. Blood pressure has also increased slightly. Doctor states that it is not caused by Repatha, however, when treated by the general practitioner for the symptoms above, they have been unable to identify the proximal cause."

For High Cholesterol "Been on all the statins. My body is unable to tolerate them. The worst being Lipitor. It is a horror drug and was a current affair program in Australia some years ago. Unfortunately, my diet has a limited impact. Triple bypass and three stents further down the track, I felt doomed. Then my new cardiologist suggested this Repatha. Great! And it worked wonders for me, and there appeared to be no side effects other than a nose drip when I did physical stuff. Been on it for approximately three or so years, and it helped keep my cholesterol in check. But in the last six or so months, I have been feeling more fatigue, plagued with lightheadedness, a rubbery weak sensation in my legs, arms at times feeling weakish, along with a head fog. I now suspect it being Repatha. Been on a plant-based diet and now just try that on its own."

For High Cholesterol, Familial Heterozygous "I am a 66-year-old male with familial high cholesterol and triglycerides. I have been unable to take statins and other meds for lowering cholesterol due to elevation of muscle enzymes, which causes muscle pain and weakness. After a stent, the doctor wanted me to take Repatha. I took it for 5 months, and due to other health issues, I did not realize I was having issues until a heart catheterization came back normal. I had chest pressure, shortness of breath with minor exertion, sweating very easily, body aches, fatigue, back pain, and muscle aches all over. My muscle enzymes test, which I had to request, was very elevated. I immediately stopped Repatha. Chest discomfort stopped immediately, breathing is better, and sweating stopped, but I am still having severe back and muscle aches in my legs, with my legs feeling very rubbery. My advice is to pay very close attention to muscle aches if you take this medication and have problems with other cholesterol medications."
