For Birth Control "I had been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for over ten years, which worked great for me. I lost my insurance two years ago, and my doctor put me on Trinessa. I have always had bad acne, even in my 30s and on Ortho. Trinessa has totally cleared up my face!!! I feel so attractive now! I do have depression and am on medication for that. I have not had any bad side effects from Trinessa. The only thing (which is minor to me) is that I sometimes spot a tiny bit in between periods, but not every month. My boobs also become tender during my period, but they haven't grown. :( Overall, I LOVE Trinessa!!!"

For Birth Control "I got a prescription for TriNessa about 5 months ago, mostly just to help with my acne, and so far so good. My breakouts last a shorter amount of time and are smaller in size. My period has also gotten shorter and lighter, and I hardly get cramps at all. The only drawback is that in the first 2-3 months or so, I would get dizzy, slight headaches, and a little more fatigued than usual. Other than that, this pill works great. My acne hasn't completely gone away, but it does help."

For Birth Control "Been on Trinessa for 8 years for mild acne and birth control. At first, it helped with my acne significantly, but it also made me gain 15 lbs (even though I was working out like usual); I feel like the medication decreased my exercise tolerance and motivation. Now that I'm in PA school, my acne has returned. Part of the weight gain was in my breasts, but also everywhere else. It also worsened my PMS symptoms, making me more emotional and irritable. Not fun to feel like you're always in a bitchy mood. Overall, it did its job, helped with my acne (at first), and was cheap, but the weight gain and worsening PMS symptoms were not fun. I recently switched to Implanon because I hate taking daily pills and want something more long-term."

For Acne "I have been on Trinessa for six months and have decided to switch to Loestrin. I have the worst acne I've ever had, not just my face but my back and chest too. I get headaches all the time, and I've gained 20 pounds. It's like my appetite for food skyrocketed. My appetite for sexual activity, however, got depleted, which is frustrating."

For Birth Control "I began taking this medicine primarily to not get pregnant and a little for the acne part. I have not gotten pregnant, and it really didn't do much for my skin. You definitely need to have food in your system when you take it, I figured that out the hard way. My only complaint on this is I have TERRIBLE mood swings with this medicine, and it has worsened my already present anxiety and depression. I thought it was just me, but other women I know taking this have said the same thing. Going to talk to my doctor about switching during my next appointment because the moods are unbearable and affecting my relationships."

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for 3 years now, and I couldn't be happier. I always start my period on a Tuesday or Wednesday, and it only lasts until Sunday and is very light. It is also very inexpensive. I pay $4/month for a pack. When I first started, the only side effect I had was a little bit of weight gain (3-4 lbs). It definitely helped clear up my skin, but I do get the occasional zit here and there. I still have a little bit of cramping before my period, but the doctor says that is normal, and no pill can really prevent that. Just the natural part of the body. I haven't had any changes in side effects over the years, and it has definitely done its job of preventing pregnancy. I would highly recommend it to others!"

For Birth Control "For anyone coming on here and reading all of the unfortunate side effects TriNessa has caused - don’t worry yet! It might work great for you. When I was first prescribed it, I read what the internet had to say about it and I was terrified! I’ve been on it a little over a year now, it cleared my HORRIBLE, PAINFUL acne! That was the original reason it was prescribed. On top of clearing my acne, it also shortened my cycle from 7 days to 4, a much lighter period that isn’t getting in the way of my life. This pill also significantly reduced the amount of migraines that I get. Good luck to everyone, hope you find what works for you! <3"

For Birth Control "Ever since I got on TriNessa, horrible experience by far! I'm nauseated all the time, even with a meal, even changed times to see if that would help. Nothing worked, and I have anxiety, that went up so much ever since I've been taking TriNessa. I don't feel motivated to do anything. I just don't feel myself. I'm officially tossing this out, I have 6 more pills left, not worth it!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Trinessa for almost 6 months now, and I haven't seen many issues with it. When I first started, I was a bit moody, but now that side effect seems to have gone away. Also, I've had somewhat irregular periods while on the pill. I've had no headaches, weight gain, my skin has cleared up a lot since starting it. I'd definitely recommend it."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa on and off for about two years. I was on it for a year straight, and it seriously saved my life. Cleared up my acne, lost weight, no periods, didn’t ever get pregnant. This birth control is the best."

For Ovarian Cysts "I took this stuff for 8 years. I have felt awful that long. I have thyroid problems, and so I thought the symptoms were due to my thyroid. I was depressed, lethargic, it was as dry as the Sahara down there, and I could hardly get out of bed no matter how much I slept. I stopped taking it 3 weeks ago. I feel human again for the first time in 8 years! Curse you, TriNessa! I give you a negative one million. Don’t make yourself suffer as long as I did. Stop taking this poison!"

For Birth Control "I've been on TriNessa for almost a month now. I'm 18, and ever since I was 15, my periods have been outta whack! I skip 3 months at a time with no period. My doctor put me on TriNessa, and so far, I haven't had anything wrong! The only thing is I hate the placebo pills. My period has been terrible! I have terrible back and stomach cramps, but my bleeding isn't so bad. I highly recommend it to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I like it. TBH, and I’m a very paranoid and picky person. I’ve been on it for 5 years, and I rarely get cramps or much PMS. I didn’t gain weight. Didn’t lose hair. I’ve always had depression and anxiety, so I don’t genuinely see a difference in that. The only thing is I didn’t see much of a difference in my acne."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this birth control for quite a while now, and it's made me very depressed. Especially when I'm alone and not doing anything, I feel very sad and depressed. And every other month or so, I'm bleeding abnormally. Though I don't have a period every month, I shouldn't be bleeding all the time."

For Birth Control "I've been on Trinessa for years as the generic to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It was free compared to the expensive version. I have not noticed issues with this pill at all, at least not that are very noticeable. I think the mood swings and emotional distress others are mentioning would happen with or without any BCP because of PMS. My skin breaks out only the week before my cycle starts, but nothing crazy. I don't have breast tenderness, cramps, or discomfort either. The periods are light and painless as well. I do notice the bloat like clockwork a week prior to the period, but it is what it is. I have not gotten pregnant while on the pill though my guy and I are highly fertile, so it's obviously working. Overall, I'm happy with it."

For Acne "My dermatologist put me on this to regulate my acne, and I am currently on my third cycle using TriNessa. I had been on birth control for the same reason almost 2 years ago, but I had a 15 lb weight gain in under 4 months, which is crazy since I'm a runner. She told me these pills would not make me gain weight, yet I've gone up around 7 lbs and noticed that my boobs have grown a lot. The only other side effect I have noticed is dizziness and headaches. But as for its effectiveness: my period is very regular and light, and my face has completely cleared. I still get a few breakouts right before my period, but it's usually not bad at all."

For Birth Control "I wanted to share my review with TriNessa. I came here to read some reviews about 5 months ago or so. I was scared to try this birth control, my insurance made me switch from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (after over 5 years). The first month, I immediately started breaking out like crazy, and it only worsened as the time went by. By the third month, I did not want to go out and show my face, it was awful. But I did not want to give up on this birth control, it should be almost identical to Ortho, right? So why wouldn't it work for me? I almost gave up on it until the fourth month, my skin started to clear up. The redness is now completely gone, my skin is soft and glowing. I am going into my 5th month now, my skin feels amazing. I would suggest giving it some time."

For Birth Control "So the doctor recommended Trinessa because my periods have been inconsistent. So I have taken the first 10 pills for the pack, and the first 5 days felt great, never had any of the side effects. Then I slowly started to notice I would get hot and headaches out of nowhere. Then things got worse, I would start crying and getting extremely emotional for no reason. I would feel like I was in a dream with fever, no energy, headache, and cry for hours for no reason. My hormones are all out of control now from just taking the first 10 pills. I wouldn't recommend this pill, but then again, I'm sure it affects people differently, just like any other birth control pill. Just my first experience with the pill (Trinessa) has been terrible."

For Birth Control "I've been on all kinds of birth control since having my son 21 years ago. I got on TriNessa because my current insurance doesn't cover the Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo I was on before. I'm almost 40 and have had a problem with acne my whole life, even while being on the Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. Well, I am VERY happy with TriNessa because my face has cleared up and looks beautiful for the first time in my life! My periods only last 4 days, which is awesome. So far, I've been on TriNessa almost a year and will definitely continue it."

For Birth Control "THIS. PILL. ALMOST. RUINED. MY. LIFE. I managed to destroy countless relationships while on this pill - luckily, my mother (the only one willing to stick around when I became a sobbing, irritable, and unbearable mess) told me to stop taking TriNessa immediately. Within a matter of days, my dark thoughts (which I was having for the first time in my life) disappeared. Although my friendships have been mended and my mental state is now back to normal - I am still dealing with the embarrassment and guilt I have over the way I acted. PLEASE, SPARE YOURSELF! I do not want anyone to experience what I went through."

For Birth Control "I have been on Trinessa for the past 7 years. I initially started taking it so I could have a normal, predictable period and to see if it would clear up my acne. It did help tremendously in both areas. Since I've used Trinessa, I've never had a pregnancy scare, but I do take it religiously at the same time every day. The only reason I'm switching off of Trinessa is because it hasn't helped with how heavy my periods are. Otherwise, I've obviously been pretty happy with it for the past 7 years and would recommend it!"

For Acne "I've been on this pill for a month now, and I'm loving it. I had acne on my face, chest, and back, and now that I'm on this pill, it has gone down considerably. The rest of the acne on my body is healing, but I don't see any more breakouts occurring, and I'm so happy. The only issue I have with it is that I have to take it every day. (I'm kind of forgetful, but I've only forgotten once, and I'm not sexually active, so that's okay) and that I've noticed a gain in my weight. It's not extravagant, though. I just eat more now that I'm on it, and I'm trying to make better eating choices, but that has nothing to do with the pill. I'd say give it a try, it's not bad."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for 10 months. So far, I have had breast tenderness, fatigue, weight gain, 104 lb to 127 lb (yes, huge difference), lower abdomen pain. Headaches, mood swings not so much, but I do cry a lot, and I mean a lot. The pill is doing its job, although I've had one scare. My period comes three days late and lasts about 3-6 hours, my period hasn't been longer than a day. And it's light, very light, like spotting. TriNessa is a good pill, it has done its job, but the side effects are like symptoms of pregnancy. I could do without the side effects."

For Birth Control "I love TriNessa. I've been on it for about a year and a half now. Unlike other birth controls, the most weight I gained since I started it is 2 pounds. I love it. Simple, easy to use, and effective. Give it a shot. Plus, it cleared up my acne!"

For Birth Control "I switched to TriNessa after being on a lower estrogen pill for three months. The previous pill caused some irregularity in my periods. TriNessa did regulate my period. But the improvements in my acne on the other pill unraveled a bit. I get acne just like I did before ever going on birth control. Sex drive has decreased slightly, but nothing detrimental. No weight gain, but I do have one terrible evening of nausea once a month during the week before the placebo pills."
