For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for 3 months. My insurance no longer covers Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and I've been told this is the closest generic to Tri-Cyclen Lo. It's been terrible. I've been emotional, sad, and irritable. I have highs and lows throughout the day. I've had very depressing thoughts. I have cramps the first day of my menstrual cycle for the first time in my life, and I'm 32 years old. I spot between periods. I now have acne, so I am going to the dermatologist to get a prescription for that. Everyone says to give it more time. That, because I was on Ortho for almost 20 years, it will be an adjustment. They tell me that TriNessa is forgiving and my body will come around. I don't know what I'll do..."

For Birth Control "My regular birth control was discontinued and was switched to Trinessa 3 months ago. I had weight gain 1+ months later, but didn't put it together. I'm now in my 3rd month and I've gained a total of 15 pounds, anxiety, acne, and breast tenderness. I'm done! I'll be 48 years old this year and don't need the extra problems. I see good and bad reviews, and I'm so glad that I googled it."

For Birth Control "After being on Trinessa, I can confidently say that this drug has more cons than pros. I get nausea EVERY morning to the point I want to throw up. My face looks terrible, due to all of the acne from Trinessa. My periods are 7 days long now, and I bled like crazy. My cramps are horrendous and make me call into work sick. DO NOT GET THIS. My doctor recommended this instead of the IUD, which was a mistake. I am now going to get the IUD, but here's the best part, ladies! I take my Trinessa every day, at the same time, but just took a pregnancy test and it is positive. So please, look at other forms of BC, and stay away from Trinessa."

"Trinessa is the best birth control I've tried! I've been faithful to it for 5 years now, with no side effects whatsoever. I used to have bad acne, and within a month or so of taking it, my face is completely clear! A godsend. It also doesn't affect my mood whatsoever or weight changes. I love it! I moved to the UK, and Trinessa isn't provided here, so I tried a different pill. It made me break out and made me very depressed, so I stopped. I'm having someone send me Trinessa from America because it is so good! I've also tried other pills before, and they all made me moody, whereas Trinessa just makes me feel calm. Definitely recommended."

For Birth Control "I have been taking birth control for the last 8 years for my period. I was having a period every two weeks, so I was put on the pill when I was 13. I am 21 years old now. I got put on TriNessa about two years ago. I don't remember the name of my birth control before then. But it worked so well for me, cleared my acne, easy periods, no problems... until last week. I got admitted into the hospital on Friday for a blood clot in my left lung. I have no family history of clots, and I don't smoke, so they ruled it that it was the birth control. I wanted people to know to be careful. Because I'm so young to have something like this happen. So please take with caution. It's a very slim chance, but it happened to me."

For Birth Control "Well, I personally do not recommend this pill. I have been so sick since I began taking it about a month and a half ago. I was doing some research today and think I might be having a bad reaction to it. Not only have I developed acne, I've been having palpitations, racing heartbeat, depression, severe anxiety, chest pain and heaviness, and to top it off, unbearable migraines every single day! I feel like rubbish every single day, and I do believe this medicine is the reason. Bummer."

For Birth Control "I have had horrible cystic acne since I was 18, which gets worse around my period. I've tried so many different birth controls and gone to the dermatologist so many times with no luck. This stuff changed the game for me. I rarely get cystic acne anymore, and my skin just looks so much better and healthier. I used to never leave the house without makeup, and now I don't even give it a second thought! I am so grateful for this medication. My periods are also normal and fairly light. I never have cramps during my period anymore! If you have acne problems and want to regulate your period, definitely try this first."

For Acne "Better than anything I’ve tried! Started trying birth control when I was a sophomore in high school. Tried Lo Loestrin, Depo shot, and a few others over the past 5 years. They all gave me horrible cystic acne, mood swings, extreme weight gain, etc. UNTIL TRINESSA. Yes, it will take MONTHS for your body to get used to it, and yes, your acne WILL get worse before it gets better, but this is a long-term fix once you get used to it and take it at the same time every day. Everyone’s body reacts differently, but this is an 8/10 for me (which is better than anything else I’ve ever tried). I do get very bad side effects if I miss a pill or have to double up, but that’s my fault. I do get a minor bump here and there, but if I ever get actual breakouts, it’s because I’m eating dairy or unhealthy foods/not working out, not because of TriNessa. It has also shortened my periods from sometimes even 7-8 days to 4-5 days. Some weight gain, but it all went to my breasts, so not complaining."

For Acne "So, I am only within my first month, and this is scary. I have always had bad acne, but within this first month, it has made it worse. The kind of cystic acne I get now, I cannot get rid of as soon as I used to be able to. Most pimples would go away for about a week, and these have lasted for almost a month. I am also starting to take tretinoin and doxycycline in addition to the birth control because I feel so hopeless. Please, someone tell me this is supposed to happen? You know? Worse before better? Thanks."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on TriNessa for about six months now. I used to take Microgestin, but I was getting two periods a month, so my doctor switched me to this one. The first month or two, my face broke out horribly, honestly, I was debating getting my doctor to switch me to another one. With some time, I'm guessing my body got used to the hormones, and now my face is super clear, we're talking I maybe get a pimple around my period, but that's it. I now only get my period once a month, honestly, this is a blessing because pads and tampons are expensive. The only thing is that it didn't really do much for alleviating cramps or the flow of my period. I still get it for roughly the entire time I'm on the inactive week."

For Acne "This medication definitely reacts differently for everyone. This is my ninth birth control I've been on in my life. I used to get cystic acne terribly on my face, and every birth control has had a different side effect for me. This one has been pretty bad. I no longer have terrible cystic acne on my face, but now it has appeared all over my back. Also, if you are taking depression medication, I really don't recommend it. This has absolutely made me more depressed, and I've also gained a lot of weight after almost 3 months of it. I think the pill makes me need to emotional eat."

For Acne "I was on the mini pill for about a year and really didn't mind it at all. However, I was weaning my baby and had some breaking out, so wanting to try the regular pill instead as recommended by my doctor. One month in and so far it is TERRIBLE. I get terrible cramps now, nausea all day, headaches, and my emotions are out of whack! I already have slight depression and anxiety, this pill made it SO much worse. My acne is the worst it's been since I first had my daughter, especially around my jawline. I am going to give it two more packs and then switch to something else."

For Birth Control "I started taking TriNessa in November, and this is by far the worst pill ever. During the first and second month of taking this pill, I was super nauseous, and I experienced terrible ovulation pain if I did not take my pill at the exact time every day. Currently, I have horrible mood swings, depression, and my skin is breaking out like crazy. The only thing this pill didn't do was gain weight. Going to my doctor next week to change my BC plan."

For Birth Control "I've been taking TriNessa for about 4-5 months now, and it hasn't been too bad. It's the first birth control I've ever used. I never have had bad acne at all, but the first month I was on it, I had terrible acne, but that's normal, and now I'm seeing I get acne more the week before my period on this pill. Also, the first month and a half, I noticed I was getting depressed, but that went away. I've had a severe decrease in my sex drive to the point where I usually don't even want to masturbate, but it's kind of coming back 5 months later. I haven't tested out its effectiveness yet because of my low drive. Other than the low drive, I don't really have any problems with it, but if I forget to take it, I will get a headache until I take it."

For Birth Control "I absolutely hate this birth control. Not only do I get the heaviest periods I've ever gotten in my life (I have to change my super plus tampons every couple of hours the first couple of days), it sometimes comes a week early. Also, weight gain, some acne (which I never experienced my whole life), and terrible PMS. The only reason I'm giving it some 'stars' is because I didn't get pregnant."

For Birth Control "I have been on TriNessa for 3 months now. I am 14 years old and am taking it for consistency in my period, acne, and consistent flow. I was very excited to start it because I didn't have a doubt in my mind that it wouldn't work the way I wanted it to. The first month I was on my period for 24 days. In the short time I've been on it, I have gained 15 pounds!!!! I used to weigh 100-108 pounds, now I weigh 120! Makes me want to cry. I haven't changed my diet, and I have always exercised daily and remain very active. My acne has not improved, these two things are very devastating to my confidence. It has left me somewhat depressed and moody. I don't think I would recommend this, however, every person is different, and it may work differently for them."

For Acne "I've been on TriNessa for 3 months now. This birth control has taken away my menstrual cramps, which is a plus, but it has made my acne the worst it's ever been in my life, and I've never had such low self-esteem. Personally, I would not recommend it, but it works differently for everyone."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So I was on TriNessa for about 2 to 5 years. I loved it for the first few years. My cramping intensity went down to where I could go out and function without any problems. My period was very regulated to where I can predict the exact day and almost the time. It didn't help with my acne at all. After about 3 years, I'm starting to have cramping again to where I have to stay in bed. And my regulation is off. So it's really good while it lasts."

For Acne "2nd review (2nd month on TriNessa). In my first review, I gave a 1 star because I got TONS of cystic acne in the first 3 weeks of taking TriNessa. I'm now on my second month, and my cysts seem to be slowly disappearing, or at least shrinking, and I haven't gotten any new cysts. I'm starting to feel a bit more positive with this BC."

For Acne "This is my third month into TriNessa. I can't say I hate it, and definitely can't say I love it. During my first 2 weeks, I experienced very awful breast tenderness (making roller coasters at the time not a pleasant experience), and some nausea and major headaches. My first period on this was a little hellish, but my periods before the pill were 8 long, heavy days. I was put on this pill for my acne. Before the pill, I always got acne before and after my period on my forehead (cystic), and when I started this pill, I started only getting whiteheads (which is doable). It's the week after my period, and for 3 long weeks, I've had awful cystic acne on my chin and forehead. I am planning to give the pill at least 3 more months."

For Acne "Let's start off saying that medications work differently for everybody. Personally, it has not been bad for me like all of these other reviews. The first couple of weeks, I did have mood swings, I was debating on stopping TriNessa Lo, but I said maybe just my hormones need to regulate. Well, they regulated. I started taking this birth control so I can stop getting hormonal breakouts mid-cycle. My acne wasn't horrible, I really just had oily skin and a few cystic bumps that would leave red marks that looked ugly to me. I probably would get 7 a month? Something like that. Well, the first 3 months I broke out a little more than usual. I had about 10 bumps on one cheek. On my 4th month, my skin is crystal clear!"

For Birth Control "I began taking TriNessa to clear up my skin. I have never had perfectly clear skin, but before and during my period, my skin (including back and shoulders) would break out horribly. After only a week of the pill, I noticed my skin was very clear. I have never had such amazing skin! During my period, I still get a few zits, but not bad enough to wear makeup. My period never starts until the 5th placebo, and has always been short, but I no longer cramp! My mood is stable, and I have gone up a cup size. I am stopping the pill due to a 10-pound weight gain in three months. I'm a runner, and have always been able to maintain my weight. I intake 2000 calories, burn 2400/day, and went from 120 to 131 in 3 months."
