For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for about a year now. The only positive side effects of this pill are that I have almost no acne now, and my breasts have grown a lot, but I have gained 20 pounds within the last year, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with this pill. I have a lot more mood swings and am usually depressed and feel terrible about myself."

For Birth Control "My gyno switched me to this because it was cheaper than my birth control at the time. I experienced horrible cramps and bloating, not just when my period arrived. Also, I gained almost ten pounds in one month, which is completely not normal because I could barely eat since the pill made me nauseous and dizzy at least a few times a week. My periods were heavy and seven days, when before they were light and only four days."

"I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for 4 years, it works well to avoid pregnancy and regulate my period, but I've gained almost 20 lbs, and I have spurts of intense anger and sadness. Sometimes I'm really hungry, and other times I can't eat a thing without feeling sick and bloated. Sex is usually painful, but my sex drive has escalated greatly, especially the week after my period."

For Birth Control "Since starting, it has helped a lot with my periods. Haven't noticed any changes in acne, unless I'm not paying too much attention. Overall, I feel it's a good birth control and it's effective, but I've only been on it for 3 months. When I started this pill, I weighed 145 lbs and am now weighing about 160. With that being said, I'm not happy with my body or myself because I was wondering where this random weight gain came from, and then it occurred to me that I started a new birth control. If you are sensitive and have low self-esteem like me, consider that this might make you gain weight before taking."

For Acne "I've had cystic acne since the beginning of college. I've been on Orthotricyclen Lo, Tri-Previfem (generic Orthotricyclen), Beyaz, and now I'm currently on Tri-Sprintec. The Orthotricyclen Lo helped a little with my acne, but I still had a lot of breakouts. I was on it for around a year. I then switched to Tri-Previfem, which worked great for me (no side effects whatsoever). It helped regulate my period really well, too. I was on it for around 2 and a half years, and my acne started coming back. A different doctor switched me over to Beyaz since she said my body was used to the Tri-Previfem. I was on Beyaz for 7 months but noticed many problems, such as weight gain (I gained 8 lbs) and moodiness. I switched to Tri-Sprintec, and it works great."

For Birth Control "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 3 years now. It was pretty bad for months after starting this pill. I had mood swings, I had moments where I felt depressed. I changed for a few months to the patch and Depo. I liked the patch, which I lost weight on, but I constantly worried it would fall off, and the adhesive gave me a rash. Depo made me way too emotional and hungry. I gained weight on the pill, but I'm not sure if it was because of the pill or because I started college. I have lost some of the weight since. I love that my periods are predictable and regular as well as short. I still get a few cramps and acne, but that only happens the day before my period. I no longer feel depressed or have crazy mood swings."

For Birth Control "Bad, bad, bad. I have taken this pill for 9 months now, my acne has gotten worse, I have gained about 15 pounds, my cramps are worse, and I'm very emotional. My boobs hurt all the time, my sex drive has lowered, and after I finish my 7-day period, I have 6-7 days of spotting. And my cycle is all messed up."

For Birth Control "I just started taking Tri-Sprintec after my last period, and I'm now on the week of placebo pills. I was really worried that I was going to have all the terrible side effects everyone mentions. So far, I have had no negative side effects, aside from some spotting during the third week of pills that got heavier the closer I got to the placebo pills week. I've had no weight gain, no nausea, no mood swings, and the best part is I don't have near the cramps I used to. My acne is a little bit better, but I read that it may take a few months for it to help my skin. I also read that the breakthrough bleeding is normal when you first start taking any form of birth control, so I'm going to continue taking it and hope that it decreases with time."

For Birth Control "Don't take that pill. I gained a lot of weight. I got depressed and had anxiety. I always wanted to eat... I took it for only one month, and now I have like 4 days without that pill, and I feel like I'm gaining more and more weight (I'm eating so well, I go to the gym every day...)"

For Birth Control "First birth control medication I have ever been on, and it has turned out to be the worst experience for me! I got on it for heavy periods, which it has helped, but the side effects are not worth having a light flow for me! I have gained 20 pounds at least from this in two months (how is that even possible?), I have constant headaches and stomach cramps, and frequent diarrhea. Also, I have never had a problem with acne in my life. I got on this, and within a month, my face is breaking out like crazy! Needless to say, I am officially scared of contraceptives, and I will just take my week-long heavy, painful periods for the rest of my life."

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication for 4 months, and it has been awful. I originally got on it for my horrible stomach cramps and my irregular period. I will say that it has regulated my period and even made it light, which has been great. But I have been sick almost daily. I have gained a bit of weight since I started taking it 4 months ago. I have awful headaches every day, as well as stomach cramps. I would not recommend this medication at all!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this brand not a whole year now, and I have experienced mood changes, and my sex drive is down the drain. The thought of sex is not appealing at all. I have noticed when I take the pill at night before bed, I instantly have cravings, but luckily I'm able to control it to avoid weight gain. The only best thing from this experience is not getting pregnant, which I have no sex drive, like I'd mentioned. In my opinion, no birth control is perfect or good for you physically or mentally, but we all need something to help to avoid pregnancy."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for about 3 years, and I have gained 25 lbs since. I went to the gym and also ran when I was on it. I feel like being on this pill makes it really hard for me to lose weight. I gained a lot of weight in my belly and boobs. Also, my boobs are way too big now, I went from a C cup to a DD. I quit the pill and lost two pounds, gonna keep trying to lose more weight. It worked well as birth control, I just don't like the side effects of weight gain."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-Sprintec and its predecessor for about 4.5 years. The first 3.5-4 years were great! My skin was perfect, except for an occasional blemish here or there. But then it started to go downhill fast. I was hungry ALL the time, and even if I ate my normal meals (not giving in to my hunger), I still managed to gain a good 10-15 lbs that I could NOT lose. Also, towards the end of my usage, I became violently angry. Like I would be angry allllll the time, and that's just not me! I'm normally happy and pleasant. Also, my skin started to get really bad as it was prior to being on BC. Overall, it wasn't that great."

For Birth Control "So, I was taking Tri-Nessa for 3 years and had 0 problems with it. Best birth control pill ever. Anyways, my insurance switched me to Tri-Sprintec, and it has been the worst 6 months ever. I STILL get nauseous after taking it, and I feel that way for hours on end. I get period-like cramps every single day, even when I am not on my cycle. I find myself crying randomly, and my mood swings are outrageous. I have always had clear skin, I never had an issue with acne while growing up, and now I am 25 with a forehead full of acne that I can't get rid of for nothing! Not like all those symptoms weren't enough, I was on a weight loss spree before I was switched and had lost 25 pounds before taking these meds, I literally gained 20 of it back after taking this. I hate this pill and already talked to my doctor two days ago about changing it. Next refill, I am getting something different. Do not take this medication, it is the worst!!!!"

For Birth Control "I used to take Loestrin, but I had breakthrough bleeding problems. So my doctor changed me to this pill. I am very pleased with it. I have gained about 15 pounds, though. I do get headaches, too. But overall, it's a pretty good pill."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for about 3 years. The first week of pills makes me incredibly nauseous every new pack, and although it did a decent job clearing up my acne initially, it’s started to get worse. I’ve experienced weight gain and increased anxiety, but it has made my periods very regular, which is nice. A decent birth control option, but I am going to start looking for others out there."

For Acne "I am just starting my third pack of this birth control, and it has not been a fun experience at all. I've gotten headaches every single day, gained weight due to an increased appetite, and my acne has gotten worse. I used to get minor breakouts leading up to my period, but now I get 2-3 new cystic acne spots nearly every day. The only time my acne calms down is during the placebo week. I am going to finish this third pack and see what happens, but if nothing changes, I am definitely switching. As of right now, I would definitely NOT recommend this birth control."

For Acne "I was on this pill for 3 or 4 years before I realized that it made me depressed. I wasn't necessarily a ball of darkness, but I had a small gray rain cloud always hanging over me. Also, I've steadily gained 5 pounds each year I was on this pill-Not sure if it is completely due to the pill or the depression since I haven't changed my eating and exercise habits over the years. This pill was subpar for acne control compared to past birth control pills I've been on (they had higher estrogen). This pill wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best for me."

For Acne "I started taking Tri-Sprintec to treat acne, and I just finished my first pack. My acne has always been moderate, but after a couple of days of the pill, I had a HUGE flare, but then it went back down to normal after a week or so (normal for me being 2-6 new zits every morning and every night). But, I know it will take 3-6 months for it to regulate my body, so I'll be patient and wait. I will comment and say that it did have a few negative side effects. I started to get headaches later in the night. I'm very irritable, tired, and down. I gained a little weight, but nothing that bugs me that much. I'm not recommending against this pill as I've only been on it for a month, and everyone's body is different. Just be prepared and wait, they say."

For Birth Control "This is my second month taking it, and my breasts are so sore. The first month I took it, I was fine. I feel nauseous all the time. I'm gaining a lot of weight. It's sad, never had I felt like this on BC, but only one more month left. Then I can try to have a baby. Been irregular all my life. I'm 25 now, still no kids."

For Birth Control "Worst experience ever! I hate it. I have been taking Tri-Sprintec, and I can't take it anymore. The side effects are just out of control. I gained weight within the first two weeks of taking it, and I don't eat a lot, just regular three times. Then I started breaking out horribly the first week, which I have never had a problem with. Acne has always been clear for my skin. And don't let me get started with the mood swings. This has been such a horrible experience with this birth control. I know all bodies are different, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'm on my third week, and I'll finish the month. But after that, I'm not taking it."

For Birth Control "I have read some of the reviews and sort of agree with all of them. I am 20 years old and a first-time user of birth control. I did not want to gain any weight, and my doctor assured me that this was the best one to be on. I am on my second pack, and I feel like I have gained a whole other person, and my breasts feel and look enormous. I eat healthy, and I exercise constantly. The best part is that I was not in any type of pain whatsoever when I got my last period. I think I will stick with it for another month or so to see if I gain any more or see any other effects. But I do agree everyone's body is different."

"I have only been on Tri-Sprintec for 20 days now, so I am trying to give it a little longer, as I know it takes a while for your body to regulate it. However, it is very hard. I went from being very happy to depressed and moody within a week of starting it. I now have very little patience, which makes me feel terrible, especially because I have a dog and work with children, and I want to be patient with them. I also have had an increase in acne since starting it. Painful cramps (which is why this was prescribed to me in the first place-to eliminate cramps) and weight gain. The worst part is that I have had a full period for 20 days straight, not just spotting. This pill is negatively affecting my life and my relationship. I hate it."

For Birth Control "Tri-Sprintec has been a nightmare for me! It made me extremely moody and irritable to the point where no one wanted to be around me. It gave me insane, crazy headaches, and I’ve never suffered from any kind of migraine before in my life. It claims to help acne but made my moderate acne as bad as it’s ever been. And lastly, it caused me to gain weight and eat ungodly amounts of food as if I were always hungry. I do NOT recommend this form of birth control!!"
