For Birth Control "I've been taking it for about three months, and I have no problems. Maybe a slight spike in emotions here and there, especially around the days of my period. I take them every morning as soon as I wake up. My skin has also been pretty clear, a zit here and there maybe. I've had no weight gain. My period has been extremely regular, like mind-blowingly regular! And it's also extremely effective for the prevention of pregnancy! I love this pill. I was previously on LoEsterin, and I had significant weight gain, so this stuff is miraculous! Love my birth control!"

For Acne "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 8 months now, originally was on Trinessa for 1 year and a half before that. Trinessa cleared up my acne and made me lose 15 pounds, I was at my peak of a healthy complexion and body. After being on Tri-Sprintec for these several months since Trinessa was discontinued, my acne has gotten to the worst degree it's ever been. I have massive cystic acne and even textured pimples all over my face, with a couple body pimples here and there. My hair feels beyond damaged even though I don't feel as though I've done too much different to it, and I've gained close to 30 pounds since the switch. Absolutely hate it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for the past 6 years, I had only went up a cup size, and that was perfectly fine. I never had a problem with it, and thankfully never got pregnant. But due to the stupid Obamacare changes, the insurance forced my doctor to give me Tri-Sprintec. I've only been taking it for the past 2 months, and it has been hell! I have gained 20 lbs in the first 2 months! I went from being a 34DD to a 36DDD, and I count calories, and I am an avid gym-goer! I'm already near 30, and losing weight is especially hard when you're at or past 30! And along with that, I ended up having a low libido, ridiculous amounts of fatigue (like wanting to fall asleep standing up), vaginal dryness, constant calf muscle cramps, depressive moods. Do not take!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely the worst experience of my life. I’m honestly considering switching doctors for even thinking this was okay to prescribe. These pills have made me very depressed, and my periods are heavier, longer, and more painful than usual. I also gained weight."

For Acne "I am nineteen, and I've been on this pill for almost two months now. I am being forced to give it another month, but I can't wait to switch! I have had horrible breakouts, weight gain, nausea, cramping even off my period, mood swings, depression...the list goes on. I have never felt more horrible. I will be trying Yasmin next. Also, if your skin isn't improving in three months, I would definitely switch birth controls."

For Acne "Slow and steady definitely wins this race. I was skeptical going on birth control to fix my ongoing acne battle, especially since I am not sexually active. I have been on it for 3 months now, and I am so grateful I did this!! My acne has cleared up 80%, and I expect it to be closer to 95% for the next pack. It was hard to be patient those 3 months of wondering if it would work, but it did, and I'm so happy about it. At first, I noticed some swelling and tenderness in the chest, but that subsided after about 2-3 weeks, once my body got a bit more used to it. I had a few pounds of weight gain, but that has since come off too - and may have been just water weight."

For Birth Control "Cleared my acne super well and made my period regulated, but I've gained 20 pounds in the past 8 months using it. My metabolism has slowed down, and my whole self-confidence is just gone because of my weight gain."

For Birth Control "First month was amazing! I didn’t have many side effects other than being really hungry. I wish my whole experience on this BC could have stayed how I felt the very first month I took it. The second month, breakouts and horrible depression and anxiety! For about 2 weeks I could hardly function because I felt so bad. I was having panic attacks and couldn’t handle small things going on in my life. My face was breaking out pretty badly too. I was embarrassed. 3rd month, constant breakouts. Never a day where I didn’t have at least one zit on my face. I was embarrassed. As someone in their mid-20s, I should not be breaking out this much. I hated it. My depression got better, thank goodness. I have noticed weight gain while being on this pill, but honestly I have to switch because it broke my face out too much. It worked as far as birth control, but I knew I could find something better."

For Birth Control "This birth control has caused me really bad insomnia, I only sleep about 2-4 hours and wake up around the same time every night. Then I am tired during the day! This birth control has caused me to have really bad anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and mood swings. I have been extremely emotional and angry often over nothing. I would not recommend this birth control, and I have also gained 15 pounds."

For Acne "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for 6 or 7 months. I started it with hopes of it getting rid of my moderate acne. I rarely got cystic acne, but my face ALWAYS had zits, and I would break out around my period and even worse when I was stressed. Now I still have acne, but it isn't nearly as bad as it was before; I also don't notice much of a change in my skin when I get stressed. So it didn't exactly work how I hoped it would, but it IS helping some. The first month that I started Tri-Sprintec was pretty awful. I was nauseous for four weeks straight - from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep. I've gained a little bit (5 lbs) of weight and noticed that my breasts have grown (or are always swollen)."

For Acne "For the purpose of acne, this medicine helped me a lot! But within two months of starting it, I gained 10 pounds. I exercise 4-5 times a week and eat well and hadn't made any changes that would cause weight gain. Nothing I did would get rid of the weight gained, especially around my hips and thighs. It took me a year to realize that this was the problem. I'm 17 now and did swimming in high school and usually lose at least 5-10 pounds each season, but this year I stayed at a constant 140. Because of this, I'm switching. I also got extreme nausea, if I didn't eat enough food before taking it, or if I took it more than 30 minutes after eating, I would get intense nausea, dry heave twice, and lose my appetite."

"Second birth control I've been on, and I've been on it for over a year. It gives me the worst headaches and acne. I put on about 10 lbs and cannot get rid of it. I feel disgusting. My boobs didn't get any bigger. My periods are always right on schedule and never heavy, but the rest of the month is a roller coaster with my emotions, weight, etc."

For Birth Control "First time I was on it, I gained 25 pounds in 3 months. As soon as I discontinued using it, there was a noticeable decrease in weight. Fast forward 6 months later, I've been back on it for a little over a month and a half, and I am currently laying in bed at the ripe age of 21, in excruciating pain with 4 deep vein blood clots in my right leg, which were caused by this birth control. Make sure that when you take birth controls/other medicines, you are aware of the serious side effects."

For Birth Control "Works pretty well as birth control, but I take it mainly for period regulation. It does well with that too. I don't mind the weight gain or the fact that I am constantly eating/snacking since I'm pretty active and my metabolism surprisingly keeps up with my cravings. The most interesting thing I noticed was actually an increase in my sex drive. Usually the opposite, right? But this stuff makes me want to do it all the time! I stopped it for a month because it was making me way too emotional, I would cry literally every morning at work. But then I noticed a decrease in sexual desire and extreme difficulty getting an orgasm (with my boyfriend and by myself). Needless to say, I went right back to taking them. Small price to pay for an amazing sex life."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have been on Tri-Sprintec for 8 years now (I'm 24 years old) to help regulate my irregular hormone levels due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). I have not had any side effects of the pill... well, maybe some mood swings, but nothing that wouldn't be caused by that time of the month already! I have gained a considerable amount of weight since I have been on this particular birth control (approximately 50 pounds), but that is the only real issue. I have been regular for the past 8 years, down to the exact day and almost time of the day, so there are no surprises. Everyone's body reacts differently to medications, I'm pleased that this birth control did the job for me!"

For Endometriosis "So, I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for the last 8 years and have had little complaints. Yes, I gained a few pounds when I started it, but with most BC pills, you will gain weight from. However, it was a few pounds compared to Yaz, on which I gained 20 lbs. I also had the worst mood swings of my life on Yaz. So my gynecologist switched me to Tri-Sprintec about 8 years ago, and I have had very few issues on this pill. My periods are shorter, and I noticed my skin is clearer, and I am less moody on it. Also, it has helped tremendously with my endometriosis. I still get cramping before and after my period, but it is tolerable compared to when I took Yaz. I recommend Tri-Sprintec for shorter periods, less cramping, and better skin! Again, every woman's body will react differently, but I have had a pretty good reaction to Tri-Sprintec, and I have been on it for almost a decade now!"

For Birth Control "This is my third type of birth control, and I was scared to try. The other two left me depressed and overly tired. I have found the side effects of Tri-Sprintec tolerable. 1. My skin has cleared up. 2. I have gained weight, upon starting this birth control, I was ALWAYS hungry, but going to the gym has started to help in losing it. 3. I suffer from irritable bowel syndrome and have not had issues stemming from that problem since starting Tri-Sprintec."

For Acne "I'm finishing up my first month on Spintec. So far, here's what I've gotten out of it. I do not feel like it has made me gain weight at all, possibly even helped to lose some. Normal appetite, and my mood seems stable (I'm kind of an emotional mess anyway, so I'll just say it's not worsened). My breasts have been so tender all month, like every day. But the part that's bothering me most is breaking out - I read a lot of people were on this BC to control breakouts. I started taking it for hormonal balance and to prevent pregnancy. I rarely ever have noticeable acne on my face, but these last two weeks, I've had horrible breakouts on my chin, forehead, and sides of my face. I really hope it's just the initial hormonal changes and it will clear up."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec since I was 16 and am now 18. Originally, when I started taking Tri-Sprintec, I noticed myself being hungry and eating a lot of food in the middle of the night. I've always been super thin, and I still am because it only made me gain weight during the first six months of taking it. Then I worked out and burned it all off! I no longer gain weight, and I've had severe acne all my life since I was in elementary school, and now I don't have a single pimple on my body!!!! I take it every morning consistently, and it's been working great for me! I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend of a few years, and it has protected me from getting pregnant. I highly recommend Tri-Sprintec because symptoms during the first few months are normal."

For Birth Control "This is my first time on birth control, and I was a little iffy to start with, seeing all the side effects everyone's been having. Surprisingly, though, it's been all pros so far and very few cons. I'm just about to finish up my first month, and so far I've had no noticeable mood changes or weight gain. I do not have the urge to eat a whole lot like some have been complaining. My breasts are slightly tender, though - I'm not sure if this is due to them swelling/growing or what. I had very minor spotting at the start, but other than that it's been great!"

For Birth Control "I was put on Tri-Sprintec to help with my moderate acne. It worked very well! To my surprise, my skin has been clear and blemish-free for months. At first, I did gain 10 lbs right to start with, which scared me because really, who wants to gain weight? But I stuck it out and was happy with how it has been working. I am being taken off of Tri-Sprintec this week because it is interfering with my other acne prescriptions, causing yellowing of my eyes, swelling in my ankles, etc. Granted, these side effects wouldn't necessarily be happening without my acne medicines. So, bottom line, Tri-Sprintec is a good birth control, works well, just not for me with my acne medicines. Wish I could stay on it, but the swollen ankles aren't worth it."

For Birth Control "I have had severe anxiety and loss of motivation since starting this 2 months ago. My emotions have been out of control. I have had weight gain and water retention. The pain I used to experience due to my endometriosis is nonexistent now, but the vaginal dryness I've started to experience has made sex equally as painful. I've been constantly exhausted but unable to fall asleep. I am done with this medication."

For Birth Control "I started this medication Tri-Sprintec about 5-6 months ago when they discontinued Trinessa, which I was originally on. This medication has had me so anxious and depressed. I have gained weight on it, and I am lethargic all the time. My anxiety is the most worrisome side effect because, as a result, I’ve had panic attacks and crying spells sometimes at random times of the month. Since starting this medication, I’ve been gassy and have had many stomach ailments. Prior to starting Tri-Sprintec, I didn’t have any of these side effects. I was literally told by my pharmacist, “We gave you Tri-Sprintec because Trinessa is no longer being manufactured.” I contacted my OB-GYN today to switch off of it. Yesterday I was at the ER because I couldn’t breathe, and unbeknownst to me, I was having a panic attack. This medication is awful for me."

For Acne "I'm 18 and have had pretty awful acne since I was 12. My doctor prescribed Tri-Sprintec mainly for the acne, but also for period regulation and birth control. In the 2 weeks I've been taking it, I haven't experienced any of the mood swings or breast tenderness/growth that others have. I've gained a few pounds, but I'm home from college and so eating poorly and not exercising, so I can't really blame that on the birth control. My acne has gotten 10 times worse since starting, with lots of breakouts on my forehead, chin, and around my mouth, which used to be completely clear. As frustrating as it is, I'll stick with it for a few months and hope that my body adjusts and the acne clears up!"

For Birth Control "I took Tri Nessa for three years and then switched to Tri Sprintec when I moved to a different state. I noticed that I had increased cramping on Tri Sprintec, but otherwise it was relatively the same. It seems as though a lot of the reviews on this site deal with individuals in their first few weeks and months of taking the contraceptive. Although Tri Sprintec may not have been for them, it seems as though the side effects of weight gain and mood swings are most common whenever taking new forms of contraceptive. Taking Tri Sprintec has been a relatively positive experience for me."
