For Acne "I was starting to have small breakouts, so I went to the gyno and asked for the best acne birth control. I’ve been on it for two months now and never had such bad cystic and painful acne... all over my jaw and cheeks. I also cry for no reason. Went to my dermatologist and do not try spironolactone if you have acne - it will be the worst mistake. Trying a natural method now and quitting these pills."

For Birth Control "First month was amazing! I didn’t have many side effects other than being really hungry. I wish my whole experience on this BC could have stayed how I felt the very first month I took it. The second month, breakouts and horrible depression and anxiety! For about 2 weeks I could hardly function because I felt so bad. I was having panic attacks and couldn’t handle small things going on in my life. My face was breaking out pretty badly too. I was embarrassed. 3rd month, constant breakouts. Never a day where I didn’t have at least one zit on my face. I was embarrassed. As someone in their mid-20s, I should not be breaking out this much. I hated it. My depression got better, thank goodness. I have noticed weight gain while being on this pill, but honestly I have to switch because it broke my face out too much. It worked as far as birth control, but I knew I could find something better."

For Birth Control "One of the worst birth controls I have been on. I didn’t have acne before, but now I’m breaking out daily. Always bloated. Sometimes I get my period twice in one month. NO SEX DRIVE! Moody, depressed, angry. I’ve been on it for on and off about two years and never was able to put together why I was this way till my insurance stopped covering it. Not even a week without taking this garbage, and I am so much happier. I enjoy being around my husband again. Hopefully, I’ll start to lose the weight soon."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking Tri-Sprintec because the pharmacy I switched to no longer carried Tri-Previfem. My first month was fine, no changes. However, my second month on the pill, I went through a super tampon! Normally, I barely go through a light. My cramps are horrible, and I have a headache that just won't quit. My libido is also way the hell down from where it used to be. The only good news is my acne is slightly better during PMS. I am completely miserable. After I finish this pack, I am switching."

For Ovarian Cysts "In early November of 2016, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was prescribed birth control named 'Tri-Sprintec,' and a 100 mg per pill diuretic named 'spironolactone.' The reason I was easily diagnosed with PCOS is due to the unbelievably painful menstrual periods I would experience time after time. Not only that, random black hairs would pop up around my face, and I'd have to constantly, routinely pluck my chin to get rid of the single coarse black stubborn hairs. Before I had my medication, my acne and facial hair were terrible, my depression and anxiety made me want to hide. After 3 months of the combination of these meds, I have noticed an instant improvement to my skin. I can't wait for the day when I'm completely acne-free."

For Birth Control "I have been on this BC for almost a year and have been fairly happy with the experience. My period comes the same time every month with no spotting or side effects. Though I have noticed on the very first day of my period the cramps and PMS are 5x worse than before I took the pill, but then go back to normal the rest of the week. Not sure if this is the case with others, but I thought it was strange. Nonetheless, I still have a sex drive, no extra fat than before, or more acne. It has helped a lot!"

For Birth Control "So first I noticed I had increased anxiety, so I dialed down my caffeine intake, which seemed to help. Gained 10 lbs the first month, the second month was the worst. No period, brown discharge from the day it was supposed to start till the day I decided to switch, so breakthrough bleeding for over a month. Haven't gotten acne since I was a teen (I'm 37) and was waking up daily with painful cystic acne. The severe constipation was what made me say 'not worth it.' I'd rather risk pregnancy than die of obstructive constipation. It also caused sun sensitivity, every time I was in the sun, I got sunburned fast and had a strange mottled rash. I'm Hispanic, so I tan and do not burn?! The week my period was supposed to start, I got a yeast infection because of the vaginal dryness it gave me. This was just not the pill for me."

For Acne "I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for almost a year now, and it has done wonders for my face. However, I do get 1 or 2 zits on my face whenever I'm supposed to start my period. The first 5 months, I didn't have cramps, bloating, or heavy periods, but now they're all starting to come back. I switched to Sprintec for about two months and found no good use for it, and then switched back. I think the only good thing about Tri-Sprintec is the fact that it keeps my face, back, and chest clear of zits."

For Birth Control "Seems like it's working as birth control. My skin looks very good on it, kind of velvety and with 50% less breakouts. I've gotten comments about how good I look, and even my body seems to have a more feminine shape to it, larger breasts, smaller stomach, it must have gotten rid of all my free testosterone. But I also got extremely dehydrated on this medication, so be sure you hydrate and replace all your electrolytes. I also had a period that lasted 12 days, which was super annoying. So my advice, when taking this, is to be extra careful with your daily routine, sleep routine, food, drinking, and exercise. Really stick to your routine, and if something is off, see your doctor."

For Birth Control "Took Tri-Sprintec for about 10 days. I’ve noticed I’m not hungry at all during the day but will be starving at night. My face has been breaking out nonstop, and before this, I hadn’t had a pimple in 6 months. I have 4 around my nose. My vagina feels swollen and itchy, very irritated. I stopped taking the birth control yesterday, hoping my body goes back to normal. :( Not worth the side effects. I feel moody and not okay. My stomach has been hurting. Not good. I would recommend not getting the cheapest BC out there."

For Acne "I'm finishing up my first month on Spintec. So far, here's what I've gotten out of it. I do not feel like it has made me gain weight at all, possibly even helped to lose some. Normal appetite, and my mood seems stable (I'm kind of an emotional mess anyway, so I'll just say it's not worsened). My breasts have been so tender all month, like every day. But the part that's bothering me most is breaking out - I read a lot of people were on this BC to control breakouts. I started taking it for hormonal balance and to prevent pregnancy. I rarely ever have noticeable acne on my face, but these last two weeks, I've had horrible breakouts on my chin, forehead, and sides of my face. I really hope it's just the initial hormonal changes and it will clear up."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for 3 months now and noticed sickness and nausea the first week of taking these pills. Then it got better, but I still feel a little sick sometimes in the morning. I never had bad acne, but I did notice it getting better after taking these pills. I noticed I went from barely a 32C cup to a full 34C. During my period, my breasts get slightly smaller, then go back to normal when it's over. I used to have a 6-12 day period, now it only lasts 4 days. I am 122 pounds and maybe gained 4 pounds when taking these pills. I'm 18, and these are the first pills I tried, but I will be getting another kind of birth control in a few months to have fewer side effects. Otherwise, it's pretty good."

"Second birth control I've been on, and I've been on it for over a year. It gives me the worst headaches and acne. I put on about 10 lbs and cannot get rid of it. I feel disgusting. My boobs didn't get any bigger. My periods are always right on schedule and never heavy, but the rest of the month is a roller coaster with my emotions, weight, etc."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Tri-Sprintec for a month, and I'm already having severe side effects. Nausea, headaches, acne worse than I've ever had in my life, and the worst, severe anxiety and depression. The second week, I experienced suicidal intrusive thoughts that caused me to go into panic attacks. The only upside for me was that it helped my heavy flow and shortened my period from 6 or 7 days to 4 days. I would much rather live with a long, heavy period than what I went through for a week straight."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec since I was 16 and am now 18. Originally, when I started taking Tri-Sprintec, I noticed myself being hungry and eating a lot of food in the middle of the night. I've always been super thin, and I still am because it only made me gain weight during the first six months of taking it. Then I worked out and burned it all off! I no longer gain weight, and I've had severe acne all my life since I was in elementary school, and now I don't have a single pimple on my body!!!! I take it every morning consistently, and it's been working great for me! I have unprotected sex with my boyfriend of a few years, and it has protected me from getting pregnant. I highly recommend Tri-Sprintec because symptoms during the first few months are normal."

For Acne "I started this birth control, Tri-Sprintec, in July (now November) in hopes of clearing up my mild breakouts. When I started this, I rarely had painful bumps, just whiteheads and blackheads. It is now November, I have taken 4 packs religiously of this medicine, and my skin never cleared up. I am almost positive it made my skin WORSE! I now get painful, deep bumps on my chin and cheeks at least 3-4 times a week. Also, I have terrible mood swings, and my mood can drastically change within hours. I understand that this medicine takes time to work, but it has been 4 months, and it has only gotten worse. Furthermore, in my first 3 months of taking this birth control, I had terrible cramps and a heavy period. This was definitely surprising because I have never had cramps on my period. This birth control may work for other people, but it definitely did not improve my skin and just made me break out even more."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I've ever been on. I am currently near the end of my third week. I was hesitant to try it because of the reviews. However, the only side effects I have noticed (so far) the first week I got a small breakout on my face that cleared up within two days. My breasts have gotten a bit larger and this week (3rd) I have some mild breast tenderness. That's about it. No weight gain yet, no moodiness, didn't seem to affect my libido. But it's only the first month, so we'll see if anything changes. Seems good though."

For Birth Control "Switched from Yasmin to Tri-Sprintec (third type of pill I've tried), and I had an awful experience. I barely gave it a month before calling my doc to switch to a new pill - my body reacted terribly to it. Experienced persistent itching rash (mild allergic reaction), extreme vaginal dryness, fatigue, weight gain, and mild acne (where it used to be controlled on my other pills)."

For Acne "I'm 18 and have been using Tri-Sprintec for the past 4 months mainly to try to get rid of my mild acne. In the first couple of weeks, I was hopeful because I saw my face start to clear up and wasn't experiencing any side effects. However, as I kept taking it, my acne started to flare up again, along with cramps and bloating pretty much all the time, mood swings, and slight weight gain (5 pounds). Since month 2, I started getting cystic acne (which I've never had before) on both my cheeks and especially in my chin area and along my jawline, but my forehead stays almost completely clear. I thought my hormones just needed to get used to the pill, but my skin has continued to get worse. I stopped taking Tri-Sprintec and have already seen improvement in 3 days."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill since January 2018. It doesn’t cause me any nausea, no acne, or any problems. Sometimes my period skips a month, and other times it sticks to the same date. Lasts anywhere from 4 to 6 days."

For Acne "I've been on the pill for a short amount of time, and I'm already thinking of changing it. I've been nauseous, having horrible cramps, extreme appetite (which will probably lead to weight gain), headaches, and the WORST acne! I'm someone who has been struggling with acne, but my acne is worse than ever! It's everywhere too! Do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I just started using this birth control. I'm still on my first pack. I've been moody and I have a little acne problem, but reading these reviews has helped me know that maybe it'll go away. My breasts have been somewhat tender, but are improving now. I haven't experienced much weight gain. And the first two weeks, I felt sick, but never actually vomited. I have been more tired than normal also. But overall, it's a nice pill, small and convenient. Thanks for the other reviews! It's reassuring!"

For Acne "Am I about to tell you all a story? It ends awfully. So I was on this pill for 5 years. My face was fine, no acne, no issues. No birth control issues. I got on the pill because of my doctor, he told me to have this because my period was not regular, and I had had it for years, so he figured this would help. I finished that treatment, and upon turning 20, I stopped taking it. No biggie, right? Yeah. Huge biggie. Within 4-6 months, I didn't get my period at all. Okay, that's fine, many times that's normal. My face. My poor face. My face exploded into cystic acne. I want to say that I had been treated by my dermatologist to not have acne as I had bad acne when I was a teenager. I had to go back to him because my acne went from normal to cystic severe."

For Birth Control "I went on this medicine for birth control. When I first started it, I only got pimples the week of my period, I had really bad cramps (to the point I threw up every month), and I was really fit. Fast forward 6 months - my face breaks out all the time and is never clear (no matter how much I wash it), the cramps got better, and I gained 10 lbs all in my mid-area. This medicine did make my boobs become fuller and my period was on time every month. This medicine also made me VERY moody, and I cried over the smallest things almost every day. The weight gain + countless emotional breakdowns/anxiety attacks were way too overwhelming for me, so I just switched to a different BC!"
