For Birth Control "I'm 19 and have been on different birth control pills and also shots. I have been on this for about 3 years now, and it has cleared my face nicely only a couple of months after first starting. Downsides: a week or two before my period, I feel nausea and a little dizzy, also, a couple of pimples do show, and I have sore breasts. In the emotional state, I have been on it for a good amount of time, but I feel it only changes my moods close to the times I'm near my period. I do get very depressed randomly, but again, it could just be a personal thing. Upsides: the clear skin overall, also, I know when my period will come every month. I have not gotten pregnant and have been very sexually active for the last 2 years. Don't plan to switch anytime soon."

For Acne "I've used Tri-Sprintec for about a year. I started it to have lighter periods and to help get rid of acne. It's worked really well for me, and my periods last about 4 days and are very light, and I've had one or two breakouts since. So why not a higher score? Well, like all women, my period was going to coincide with a beach vacation, and I was not okay with that. I decided to skip a period, and instead of using my week 4 pills, I skipped right from week 3 to week 1 on a new pack... Worst. Idea. Ever. I still got my period, and it's lasted for a month, not to mention I have a major acne breakout, and no, not just one or two. I'm hoping things will go back to normal soon, and I warn everyone if this pill is working well for you, DON'T SKIP A PERIOD INTENTIONALLY."

For Birth Control "Low estrogen is a very common thing in my family. I told my doctor about this, and she prescribed Tri-Sprintec because it has triple the amount of estrogen found in women. If you don't have low estrogen and you are using Tri-Sprintec, of course, you are going to experience unpleasant side effects such as acne, mood swings, weight gain, etc. I've been taking it for over a year, and my family says I'm a much more pleasant person to be around now that I have something ridding me of my terrible mood swings. I can effectively lose weight while taking it and have little to no acne. I went two months without it and gained weight, also breaking out in acne."

For Birth Control "I am on my second month of taking Tri-Sprintec. I have not experienced any nausea, cramps, mood swings, or weird bleeding from the pill. My last period was actually really short and really light. The price is great too. My only complaint is that it makes my face break out horribly. During the first 2-3 weeks of the first month, my acne got horrible. During the last week and a half, my face cleared up great, though. Now, I am 2 weeks into my second month, and my face looks awful again. I talked to my dermatologist, and she told me that it is a great pill when used for clearing up acne and that my face should look great in 2-4 months. I hope this is true!"

For Acne "So I started Tri-Sprintec in August 2019. I started experiencing acne in September, bad cystic acne. I never once had acne before, so I figured it was the pill. I stopped it mid-pack and went on nothing. Years prior, I was on Tri-Sprintec, and my skin was fine then, but this time my skin was disgusting. Self-esteem level went down. I literally would cry at night because it would hurt to lay on the side of my face. I tried every medication and remedy for my skin. I went to the gynecologist and the dermatologist in the same day, and they both did not agree with the reason for me having the acne being caused by Tri-Sprintec, and both agreed I should be on it again. That it will help my acne. Now I haven't used the pills, I did pick them up from the pharmacy, however, I haven't used them yet because I am waiting until after my period. But now I don't even know what to do. I'm almost 30, and the first thing anyone notices about me is my acne."

For Birth Control "In December of 2018, I was forced to switch from Tri-Nessa to Tri-Sprintec, and I was not happy. I didn't realize that Tri-Nessa was being discontinued until after changing it for a few months. Come February 2019, I started getting terrible breast tenderness for weeks at a time. I mean, terrible. I couldn't even wear a normal lightweight bra or sports bra without them hurting. Acne was consistent as before, but I couldn't handle the breast pain. My husband also noticed that I was more irritable, and I have not wanted to have sex with him in months. I would not recommend this birth control after using Tri-Nessa."

For Acne "The first month I took this Tri-Sprintec, my acne got worse, but I've been taking this for like 4 months now, and my acne has almost gone away completely. I’m definitely happy with the results, besides that first month. It seems like I see people saying their mild acne got worse with this, but for me, I have pretty bad cystic acne, it got a lot better, basically disappeared."

For Acne "I was on Mononessa for about 5 years, mainly started for acne and also to reduce cramping. Great drug, very sad it was discontinued. Tried Estarylla first because it was 'the same equivalent,' which was not a great experience (BIG mood changes, so tired all the time), so asked to switch to another and got Sprintec. In the first month, I didn't really notice any bad effects, but I'm currently in the second month, and boy, CYSTIC ACNE all over my cheeks. I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something, but my routine didn't change, only this drug. I'm so glad I found this site and people's experiences to back up my hunch! So I've been having awful breakouts, gained some weight, and the amount of headaches has increased (I almost feel 'foggy' overall, not sure if anyone else has experienced that too). My periods before birth control were easier than this, quitting when this cycle ends. TL,DR: Cystic acne on cheeks, acne galore, increased headaches, weight gain."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I just finished my first month of this, and I can honestly say I like it! My second day on it, I felt like crap and threw up, but I primarily blame that on myself because I ate very little that day. Overall, great experience so far, my period started while taking the placebo pills, like expected, so I can say it did regulate my period because I usually skip a month. I have noticed my breasts have gotten more sensitive while taking this, but it doesn't bother me too much, and I believe it's even helped with my acne, which is a plus!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this for about 7 months, and this is my first time taking birth control, but it has lightened my periods. But I've gained some weight. My boyfriend has noticed I get moody really easily, and I get very emotional out of nowhere. It made me break out a little more, but it went away and is clearing a lot more now. One thing I've noticed is since taking this pill, I've had some memory loss. I do like this brand because it's lightened my period, and I haven't gotten pregnant, and I'm 18. My periods only last from 4 maybe 5 days, but before they lasted from 7-10 days."

For Acne "I've been on this pill for a full month today. The first couple of weeks were very rough. Nausea was a bad problem, and I felt very sick for a few weeks. Over the past month, I've experienced bad mood swings and an increased appetite, and I couldn't help but eat and snack. I gained about 3 or 4 pounds this month. Not very happy about that! I hope that starts to go away, but my acne has gone about 70 percent away, not fully there. But my doctor said it might take a few months. Redness is gone, but still, pimples are there."

For Acne "When I told my doctor about how previous birth controls had made me break out, she prescribed this medicine. 'It'll clear your face up,' she said. Nope. Nah ah. I have taken this medication for over 2 months, and it has made my acne WORSE. WAY worse. Painful cystic acne worse. All over. I haven't had acne this bad since high school. It has also made my period very heavy and blood clot-filled, which lasts for 7 days. Also, MOOD SWINGS. Horrible mood swings. The only positive is that I haven't gotten pregnant. But is it worth it when you're left feeling horribly self-conscious and depressed???"

For Birth Control "This is my 6th month on Tri-Sprintec. Overall, it's been a positive experience. The first 2 months, my breasts hurt - they grew another cup size - but after that, there's been no extra tenderness at all. I didn't gain any weight, didn't have any abnormal cravings. Didn't go crazy, no change in libido (still high). My periods were heavier the first 2 months, but then evened out; now they're light and only last 3 to 4 days. I had moderately bad acne around my jawline and cheeks, and it disappeared completely in about a month and a half. It's been effective against pregnancy. Not sure if my regimen made a difference: I started taking the pills the 2nd day of my cycle and I take the pill at noon. Downsides: stiffness in limbs."

For Birth Control "This is the worst brand of birth control I have ever taken. Don’t take this if you already suffer from bad acne. Gave me huge cysts all over my face after a week and a half. Also, since my second day started, I have been nonstop bleeding since. I’ve been off it for about 3 weeks now, and I’m still suffering from acne and blood loss. Going to the doctor’s this weekend."

For Birth Control "This pill is good on preventing pregnancy. I've been on it for 4 months and was scared to try it. But I don't get sick, my periods are about 5 days, and everything is good except my acne. I used to get some breakouts on my back and shoulders, and that's totally gone, but my face has gotten pretty bad. I'm going to switch to a lower hormone one because my face has never been this bad before."

For Acne "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for almost 8 months now, originally was on Trinessa for 1 year and a half before that. Trinessa cleared up my acne and made me lose 15 pounds, I was at my peak of a healthy complexion and body. After being on Tri-Sprintec for these several months since Trinessa was discontinued, my acne has gotten to the worst degree it's ever been. I have massive cystic acne and even textured pimples all over my face, with a couple body pimples here and there. My hair feels beyond damaged even though I don't feel as though I've done too much different to it, and I've gained close to 30 pounds since the switch. Absolutely hate it."

For Acne "I was starting to have small breakouts, so I went to the gyno and asked for the best acne birth control. I’ve been on it for two months now and never had such bad cystic and painful acne... all over my jaw and cheeks. I also cry for no reason. Went to my dermatologist and do not try spironolactone if you have acne - it will be the worst mistake. Trying a natural method now and quitting these pills."

For Birth Control "One of the worst birth controls I have been on. I didn’t have acne before, but now I’m breaking out daily. Always bloated. Sometimes I get my period twice in one month. NO SEX DRIVE! Moody, depressed, angry. I’ve been on it for on and off about two years and never was able to put together why I was this way till my insurance stopped covering it. Not even a week without taking this garbage, and I am so much happier. I enjoy being around my husband again. Hopefully, I’ll start to lose the weight soon."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Tri-Sprintec for one month. My family and friends think I have gone crazy because I can't stop crying. In the middle of places, I just burst out in tears, it's so embarrassing because there's nothing wrong. My face is so broken out with acne from this pill. I just hate reading all the side effects and worrying all the time. I wish I could find something perfect for me."

For Acne "I had perfect skin until 2 weeks after starting this pill. I continued to take it because my gyno said it would take 3 months for my body to fully adjust to the hormones. 5 months later, I am still breaking out on a regular basis."
