For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I began taking this for my period, which was really heavy and came with terrible cramps. While I was on it, I experienced terrible cramps. I have genetically good skin, but this medication gave me the worst acne of my life. It was embarrassing, not to mention painful. It also made me incredibly depressed, and I’d find myself canceling plans with some of my favorite people to stay home and cry. I have decided to go off of it, and I am very excited to get back to normal. Based on other reviews I have read, many women have gone through similar experiences to mine."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for about 3 years! Stopped taking it due to migraines that developed a couple of years in, my doctor thinks it was the dramatic hormone fluctuation throughout the packs due to it being a triphasic pill. She’s switching me to just “Sprintec” now (tried giving me Lo Loestrin FE before this for low hormones but spotted for months straight, irritable, frequent breakouts that weren't normal for me... couldn’t deal with it anymore). As for effectiveness, Tri-Sprintec worked great! I never got pregnant, regular periods during placebo week. Had clear skin the whole time... I never had acne issues before the pill. It did, however, make me gain about 10 lbs or so throughout the years, but that could be due to lifestyle as well. Lol."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended this to me since I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo before, and after having a child, it no longer worked as well for me and began to cause cystic acne on my chin. She said Tri-Sprintec is the generic for Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and works similarly to your natural body's hormone process. Since I started it, each month my skin has gotten clearer, and the PMS mood swings before my period are getting better. I was definitely more moody after I started taking this birth control. The biggest thing I've noticed is a lack of sexual drive, but my skin's clear, little weight gain, and no hair loss. So I'm sticking with it."

For Acne "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for 3 months. I used to have relatively severe hormonal, mostly cystic, acne. While I do still get some breakouts, I have definitely seen a significant reduction in the amount of new cystic acne that I get. So far, it has worked well for me, but it might not be enough if I want to have completely clear skin."

For Acne "Tri-Sprintec is horrible. My dermatologist recommended Ortho Tri-Cyclen, but my insurance covered Tri-Sprintec. Within the first few days of taking it, I broke out horribly. Cystic acne on my cheeks and around my mouth. I figured my body had to get used to the hormones, so I decided to wait it out until I realized my skin kept getting worse and inflamed, and I couldn’t take it anymore. I stopped using it after one week and had to try to get my skin back to normal. Worst experience of my life. I’ve been off it for 5 days, and my skin is slowly getting better. I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about 8 months, and it is really effective. So far, I've had shorter periods (4 days), and I don't notice a lot of acne or emotional issues. However, I have had a weight gain of about twenty pounds on this medicine, despite the fact that I was actually exercising more than I did previously. I've always had problems gaining weight and had been about 105 lbs for quite a few years, so a few pounds wouldn't have hurt, but this weight gain was pretty troubling due to how rapid it was. I wanted to wait and see if things slowed down, but I think I am still gaining, so I may talk to my doctor about switching to a different pill."

For Birth Control "I am quitting this birth control immediately. I took Tri-Lo-Marzia for a month before I was switched to this for insurance. Both pills diminished my sex drive to where I almost never want it. Which is insane because before the pill I would want sex 4-5 times a week. Strangely enough, it has also made it incredibly difficult for me to get wet or orgasm... which I can't believe is even a thing. I've probably orgasmed once since taking it. After taking this pill, my face broke out so bad. I'm getting pimples in places I never thought I could. I just woke up with a pimple by my ear. This pill has made me very emotional. I have probably cried 10 times this month for the most stupid reasons. This pill has me fed up with birth control. It's not worth taking birth control if it's going to absolutely kill my sex drive and screw with my head and relationship. My review honestly sounds exaggerated, but this pill literally did all of those things to me."

For Birth Control "I'm about to start on my 3rd month, and so far I love it. On my 2nd month, I had a little spotting, but nothing big. It helped with pimples, but they get worse before my period, but after I'm over, then they are gone. I've had sex many times in the 2nd month without a condom, and so far I'm baby-free, so the birth control does work. It helps my periods, and the reason I got on was so I can have a constant one. It helped this 16-year-old real good!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 3 months, and for me, I only get pimples during the period week. I have gained weight, but only 8 lbs throughout the whole 3 months, and I have a very high sex drive during the second week. The week before my period, I am doing good, but the last 2 days, I get mood swings and cravings for food. Personally, I don't get headaches, cramps, or pain. Also, I have a light flow now, I used to have to have a VERY heavy flow."

For Acne "I started taking this birth control in September when my acne started to become uncontrollable. It has helped immensely with my hormonal skin issues. However, I started breaking out along my cheeks where I had never previously broken out before. I realized this area was related to stomach issues and read that birth control can kill the good bacteria in the stomach lining. If you're experiencing breakouts along your cheeks, I highly recommend taking a probiotic daily in conjunction with your birth control! It has helped immensely! My skin is looking so much better! However, each month I seem to get really depressed right before the week of the placebo pills and am hoping this side effect subsides! Just be very wary of this!"

For Acne "I switched to this Tri-Sprintec birth control from Mylan from a doctor's recommendation. After taking it for 7 months, my skin has gotten much worse before my period, where I get painful cysts all over my chin and T-Zone (something that hasn’t happened since my teen years!). I was hoping it would clear up the few whiteheads I get before my period, but it only made it worse :( But other than that, it kept me pregnancy-free, and I had no other side effects."

For Birth Control "I've waited out the three-month wait time of absolute hell. Since starting Tri-Sprintec, my anxiety is through the roof, which exacerbates my depression to the point of me having suicidal thoughts on a daily basis. I can't wait to see my doctor and switch to a new pill. At 25 years old, my acne had subsided from the teenage years, but since I was started on Tri-Sprintec, it has come back. I thought maybe it would just come and go around the time of my period. Nope. Still here and even more coming in. I feel like I am back to being a teenager again with this acne and crazy mood swings. I am crying over anything and everything. Maybe these side effects will go away in more time, but I can't handle this any longer to find out."

For Birth Control "I've been on Tri-Sprintec for about 3 or 4 years. It regulated my period and made my cramps disappear. I can pinpoint when I'm getting my period to the day since my second month on it. I had to skip a month one time, but the next month my period went back to the schedule it has been on for years. It cleared up my acne as well, but took a couple months."

For Acne "This birth control is the second brand I used, and I love it in comparison to the other one (Aubra) I used! Aubra made my acne worse and gave me horrible mood swings. I honestly thought I was becoming another person. Switching to Tri-Sprintec was a decision I do not regret. This medicine works like a charm! Cleared up acne, lessened my PMS, and so far no mood swings! Gained no weight, but make sure to exercise a normal amount a week and watch your diet while on this pill!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed Tri-Sprintec because I was having extremely long periods that lasted up to a month. It stopped my period immediately, and I only had abnormal bleeding outside of the placebo week during the first month that I used it. However, I really don't believe that it's worth the side effects. I started getting acne when my skin has always been very clear. My skin has become incredibly sensitive to new products (and even some products that I've used for over a year with no issue). My periods have become regular, but I now get intense cramping during the whole week. Worst of all, though, is that I have become severely emotionally unstable. In between the depression spells and intense anger, I become manic. I am a teenager, and I've gotten mood swings before, but never like this. It's almost unbearable. I plan on talking to my doctor soon so that I can find a different pill that works better for my needs."

For Acne "I was on Trinessa for 10 years, the most recent time I went to pick up my prescription they switched me to this (with no warning). I have had the worst experience. I’m on week 3 and my face is inflamed with huge under-the-surface bumps on my cheeks. Haven’t had acne like this since I was in 7th grade & was prescribed Accutane. I am about to throw the pack in the trash and demand my old medication back... can’t take this. Also, headaches (constant) & weight gain (put on at least 8 lbs in the first two weeks)... but these issues are nothing compared to the breakout I’m experiencing."

For Acne "Worst experience. Never had bad hormonal acne (initially took bc because of bumps on my chin and the side of my mouth), but this made my cheeks break out for months. I break out with hives when I have anxiety attacks - this made it worse. Became extremely angry, violently aggressive, irritable, zombie-like. Cried every day for the past year and a half. I'm young and married, but my libido was DEAD. No sexual desire for my husband. Actually made me feel VERY indifferent towards him. Suffered from severe depression before, and this year it hit me like a truck. No motivation, no energy, no drive. The past month has been the best month in just over a year - my skin somehow is the best it's ever been, and I can slightly control my emotions better. Still get angry and feel my body heat up. Still cry a lot. And still no sexual drive. Just started Microgestin yesterday, so hopefully, it's better than this."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for over three months, and Tri-Sprintec has good and bad aspects. The good thing is its contraceptive. The not-so-good things are: my period lasts about ten days; I have really bad mood swings before; it causes nausea; and lastly, my acne has gotten worse. I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen since I was nineteen, and it was absolutely wonderful."

For Acne "This is my second brand I've tried using this form of birth control. Ever since a month or two after I began this, I've severely been breaking out all over my face, especially on the jawline, the chin, and forehead. I have struggled with mild acne before this, just a few spots here and there, but it has caused me to break out everywhere now, and it is extremely bad. I have tried countless things to try and help this, from everything over the counter and even prescriptions, topical and oral. I have tried EVERYTHING, and it will not go away. It has lengthened my periods from three days to now six and made them heavier, and I never used to have cramps, now I do. I've experienced fatigue and depression from this. Too many negative side effects for me."

For Acne "I just started my fourth month, and I'm still hopeful I'll see my acne start to clear up. It hasn't really seen any improvements, if anything, it is a bit worse. I also get my period two times a month, and I called my doctor to inform her, and she said after three months that should start getting regulated, as well as the acne. So I'm hopeful within the next two packages of Tri-Sprintec, my acne and cycle start responding well. A good benefit is that my breasts have grown a cup size. I will post again at the end of six packages of pills and how that has impacted me. Overall, I'm still hopeful because of what my doctor told me."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Like many readers, I too came on to this site before taking my first pill. My story is pretty simple. I've always had very irregular and painful, long-lasting periods. The last birth control pill I was on was Loestrin 24, and I hated it. I was also on the patch for a year and never had any issues. In fact, I liked it. But my mother started hearing the negative news behind the dose of hormones in it, and so I got off of it. I stayed off of them for another year or so and started having the same issues again, plus acne. Puerto Rico is really humid. So after a week on Tri-Sprintec, I love it. I take it at night, 8:30 pm, and sleep like a baby. No complaints whatsoever. I've lost weight too. Weird. Stay active, exercise, drink plenty of water. It's worked for me."

For Birth Control "I was on this Tri-Sprintec birth control for about a month and had to stop taking it because it ruined my skin. I've had clear skin for years, and after a month of taking Tri-Sprintec, I started having the worst breakout ever, which I am still dealing with. It did its job as far as preventing pregnancy, but I wish I had never taken this birth control. Stay away at all costs!!!"

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec and switched to Tri-Sprintec to help with minor breakouts I had. Tri-Sprintec gave me the worst cystic acne ever! I waited a month to see if it would get better, but it never did. I also experienced very bad mood swings and depression. It was awful. Listen to the reviews!"

For Acne "I've been taking Tri-Sprintec for a couple of years now, and can say that it has really helped with my acne. I used to have it really bad, but now it's mostly cleared up (I just seem to get a few breakouts here and there). Also, my period is on a perfect 28-day schedule, so that is a plus."

For Acne "Holy cow! Stay away from this! I was taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen for years before being discontinued. They switched me to Tri-Sprintec, saying it was basically the same! I never had issues with acne, and after taking this drug for 6 months, my entire face is covered in acne, and I thought I was going crazy! I am stopping this immediately. Every day, I wake up with pimples everywhere! I’ve done masks, acne medicine, and nothing is helping. I wouldn’t recommend this as an alternative for anything. At this point, I’d rather have the risk of getting pregnant than continuing to take this."
