For Birth Control "This birth control is horrible. My last birth control was discontinued, so they switched me to this. I got pregnant on this medication, and when I had continued using it after pregnancy, I had the worst depression and anxiety of my life and legit thought I was bipolar. I know everyone is different, but I do not recommend this medication."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Tri-Estarylla for maybe 2 years now, and I didn't seem to have any bad side effects until recently. To be fair, I can't say for sure that these symptoms are due to my birth control, but I'm pretty sure they are. This year, I started having the worst anxiety I've ever had in my life. Within these last few months, I've noticed that my anxiety is mostly under control until about a week before my period. I've never really had PMS symptoms before, just very painful cramps and back pains during and a little cranky before. But now I'm an absolute wreck for about 4 straight days before my period. A crying, anxious, fragile, panicky mess. And it seems to be getting worse. It is unbearable, and I feel like I am literally losing my mind. I know that I've had a difficult time getting Tri-Estarylla the last couple of months because supposedly the manufacturer stopped making it. I don't know, I'm switching my birth control no matter what, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?"

For Birth Control "2, only because this drug did technically do its job of preventing pregnancy, but that’s the only good thing that can be said about it. I was handed this generic after moving jobs and getting a new health insurance plan. I was on Tri-Sprintec for almost 10 years with no negative side effects. Within a couple of weeks of starting Tri-Estarylla, I started feeling extremely nauseous at all times of the day and night and having terrible anxiety. For about five months, I felt sick and crazy without having any idea why. I went to three different doctors and was put on anxiety medication, but no one could figure out what was wrong with me. I came across other reviews of this drug and saw other people having similar experiences. I’ve changed generic brands a few times in the past and never thought anything of it, but just to be safe, I called my doctor and asked to be put back on Tri-Sprintec. Sure enough, I’ve felt fine ever since. Everybody is different, but for me, this stuff was awful."

For Birth Control "Wow! This birth control was a true nightmare for me. By the 3rd week, I was feeling every side effect in the book—from depression to anxiety to being irritable in a quick second, tender breasts, cystic breakouts (mind you, I don’t break out other than a pimple here and there). This was full-on cystic acne around my jaw and mouth. I didn’t want to leave the house for weeks. I felt isolated in my thoughts. I have never felt depression like I did on this pill. I tried to stick with this one because I was told it would “regulate,” but after 2 months and 3 days, I broke down in my bed, shaking from anxiety and crying—I made the decision to quit it."

For Birth Control "Within the first couple of weeks of taking it, I started to notice a spike in my anxiety. I thought my body just needed a little more time to adjust. As I continued, I became much more irritable continuously, and my sex drive completely disappeared. My periods were all over the place. And suddenly all I wanted to do was stay home. Plus, I started to obsess and have meltdowns over things that completely didn’t matter. Once I stopped taking it, within a week my mood and everything was back to normal. I highly don’t recommend this medicine."

For Acne "For the first couple of months, I was so moody and irritable. It got so bad sometimes I almost gave up, but I stuck with it. My acne was not improving, but by the third month, I really started to notice a difference. Five months later, my acne is almost completely cleared up, and I don't suffer from the depression or anxiety I had before starting this pill and in the early stages. It also helped to regulate my periods, which used to be all over the place."

For Birth Control "I was originally on Tri-Sprintec for 8 months before I was switched to Tri-Estarylla because the pharmacy I went to didn't have Tri-Sprintec. I've been on Tri-Estarylla for about 2 months now, and it's been awful. I've noticed a complete decline in my mental health; extremely exhausted, have no energy, am moody and have constant mood swings, am stressed, easily irritable, and the list goes on. I feel depressed and miserable; I haven't been able to eat well, and I don't feel capable of doing things I used to be able to do fine. I'm a student and I have no motivation to go to classes or do my work, so my grades are dropping. Everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. I have never felt this way ever, and I was completely fine on Tri-Sprintec. The only benefits I've gotten are I'm free of pregnancy, and it's been treating my acne, but these are not worth the complete toll it has taken on my mental health."

For Birth Control "I'm generally not sensitive to medicine at all. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for about 6 years with no side effects. Due to insurance reasons, I was forced to take the generic, Tri-Estarylla. Within a week, my mental health diminished. I felt constant anxiety, depression, paranoia, and moodiness. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what was different in my daily life but could not identify any other source of stress. So I decided to look up reviews for this horrendous pill. Lo and behold, hundreds of negative reviews with women reporting the same side effects. This is my second month on it, thinking the first month was a fluke. This drug should be taken off the market, period."

For Acne "Started taking this for three months for acne. The first week caused horrible nausea, which was expected for the first week of taking the pill. Never had an anxiety issue in my life. This caused me nothing but anxiety for absolutely no reason. I would wake up feeling fine, and the second I get to work, everything would start crashing down, I wouldn't be able to walk down the hall without feeling like I was going to pass out. My mouth was dry all day, no matter how much water I drank. That was another trigger for the anxiety, I felt dehydrated."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "So, my Dr. switched me to this from Ortho Lo (which I never had an issue with besides some minor sadness) as a couple of months ago I bled for a month straight. She told me to try this BC because it’s the same dosage every day. I have never been so riddled with anxiety and depression. I’m having emotional outbursts, and I cannot fully rationalize why. I am a generally sensitive person, but this is on another level. I’m going back to Ortho Lo or something else because honestly, this put me in such a dark place."

For Birth Control "I recently switched to this pill about 4 weeks ago. It was fine until week 2 when I started to get super emotional about everything and get into horrible mood swings. After 4 weeks now, I have severe anxiety over everything, I am depressed for no reason, and I have constant negative thoughts. I am also constantly jittery and worried about everything, and my headaches have gotten so much worse. Horrible, horrible birth control. I would not recommend this to any women."

For Birth Control "I was originally on a Lupin brand under the name norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol. I got my prescription from Walgreens pharmacy, but they were not partnered with that manufacturer, so I was put on Tri-Estarylla. I had terrible anxiety and bloating all the time. I gained 10 lbs within those two months, and I just don’t feel like myself. I will stop this and try another brand. Birth control affects everyone differently, and you may find this brand might be good for you."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-Estarylla for over a year. It was my first birth control. I am a high-testosterone person with a high iron count as well. Before taking Tri-Estarylla, I had issues with acne (chest and cystic acne on my back and cheeks), fatigue, mood swings, body hair, and fluctuating weight. My periods were light, 4 days, and I never had cramps. After taking Tri-Estarylla, my acne cleared up, and my facial and chest hair virtually disappeared. However, my period became heavier, 7 days, and I experienced cramping. The biggest concern I had was that I gained 30 lbs in a year. Before BC, I never had problems with losing weight when necessary, but this post-BC weight is stubborn. Also, I experience intense anxiety episodes where I didn't before. I have more energy, but no motivation. Birth control-wise, I've never had a pregnancy scare, despite the fact that I do get lazy with the timing of my medication, but that's on me. I just wanted to share my experiences with side effects. Best of luck to y'all!"

For Birth Control "I started taking this as a generic replacement for my original prescription 3 months into trying birth control to regulate my period. Previfem wasn’t too bad, but I did notice a lot of changes. When I got Tri-Estarylla instead, I just assumed it had a similar adjustment period. However, I’ve been on Tri-Estarylla now for two years and 3 months. Since starting this medication, I’ve become depressed, anxious, constantly nauseous, constantly tired, and constantly having headaches of varying severity. There were many days when I would avoid driving because my headaches were so bad that I had problems seeing and focusing. I have also gained 38 lbs during this time, which has not helped at all with all the other issues this drug caused. I’ve become an emotional mess with mood swings that make no sense at all. After taking it, I cry out of nowhere, for no reason at all. Everyone is different, but I do not recommend. I followed instructions to a T and never skipped a day."

For Birth Control "I didn’t like this pill. I stayed on it a full 3 months, but it made me crazy. The week before my period, I became even more crazy and depressed and anxious. Pretty much sad every day. Then I started getting my period the last week of my active pill and acne all over my chin. Switched pills."

For Birth Control "I was on this Tri-Estarylla pill for 11 months until I gave up on it. The period regulation worked, I had mild cramps and not super heavy bleeding. The side effects have made life miserable. I have mild anxiety, and this medication made me have panic attacks over the stupidest things that I never would have worried about before. It made me feel numb and detached, and it completely ruined my libido. I don't recommend this pill, I was switched unwillingly from Tri-Linya (which I loved) to this."

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication for about two weeks. Since starting, I've had very increased anxiety, a dull headache every day in my temples, and restless sleep, resulting in extreme fatigue. The medication has not had any impact on my very moderate acne. I have noticed some water retention and bloating as well. I'm going to finish the month out, but the side effects I've experienced so far are not at all worth continuing to take this. I am so tired on a daily basis that I can barely function due to the inability to sleep soundly, even when taking a sleep aid."

For Acne "I've been on this birth control for my acne. And my experience has been really bad. Within the first couple of days, my forehead has broken out terribly, there are a ton of little bumps across it. I usually never get pimples on my forehead. I started also breaking out around my mouth. I hardly get acne there, maybe a little. My jaw breaks out really bad. This gave me major anxiety to be in public. I hate going out on dates because of my face. Although my face looks terrible, it kind of helped clear up my shoulders and chest. It definitely made my chest break out more but slowly cleared up. But, my face being so bad, I am now switching to the big guns of acne control. Can't wait to see those results."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 3 months because the pill club switched me to it. The first month was fine, nothing that I can think of had changed. But the second month, 2-4 days before my period, I got very bad anxiety and depression to the point I was having muscle spasms in my body. I couldn’t sleep and cried all the time. I didn’t know what was happening. After my period, it slowly started getting better. Then the third month, same thing, 2-4 days before my period, bad anxiety and depression. I stopped taking it right away when I saw all the reviews of others experiencing the same as me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been using this birth control for about 4 months now. My doctor switched my prescription to Tri-Estarylla because I started to cramp with my other birth control. Worst experience ever. My depression and anxiety are at an all-time high. Before using this medication, I never struggled with depression and was a very happy person. Now I struggle to even get out of bed most days. My brain feels cloudy, and I find myself having suicidal thoughts often. My mood swings are out of control, and my sex drive is gone. My periods are heavy as well. The only good thing from this birth control is that I haven’t gotten pregnant. I know the experience is different for everyone, but after reading other reviews from women who are experiencing the same symptoms, I know for a fact that it’s the birth control that’s causing all of this. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "My gyno put in an Ortho Tri-Cyclen prescription for me at CVS, and they gave me Tri-Estarylla instead. Fine. I've taken Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, Trinessa, and Tri-Sprintec and had no issues with adult acne. I took it for about a week and a half, and it was awful. The first week it was okay, but the second week... all hell broke loose. I do struggle with anxiety, which does rear its ugly head now and again, but this was bad. Really, really bad. I went through a very rough patch at the beginning of 2016 with bad insomnia and rumination. Last week, it came back-mood swings, crying, emotional outbursts, little sleep, rumination, etc. I stopped taking it and now feel normal."

For Birth Control "These Tri-Estarylla are terrible birth control pills. I had to switch to these because my insurance changed and covered them and not my old ones. Within a year, I gained 15 pounds, I look bloated and not like myself. I haven’t changed my diet or lifestyle in any way. I’ve also been suffering crippling anxiety. Just got off them 2 weeks ago and feel so much better. Beware of this one!!!! I regret ever getting on them without prior research."
