For Birth Control "Since I started, I’ve been depressed and down. My mood swings are disgusting. I get so angry and sad towards everything and everyone. I gained massive weight to the point where I’ve gotten stretch marks! I’ve been feeling so sad. I feel alone, hurt, ugly, fat, and other negative feelings. I’m so self-conscious of how I look now, I don’t wear pretty clothes, nor do I wear makeup. I’m the type of girl who loves dressing up and is in love with Sephora. Now I’m someone who barely gets out of bed for school, wears baggy sweats, and doesn’t even bother to brush my hair. I cover myself with baggy clothes because I feel like the weight gain has made me ugly. I know these details may seem pointless, I’m sharing this so you understand how it affected me and how it might affect some other women similarly or worse. I will definitely be talking to both my mom and doctor about changing my birth control."

For Birth Control "I mean, I didn’t get pregnant thanks to this, but I had been debating getting off hormonal BC, and this made the decision VERY easy! I gained 10 pounds in a month (while exercising regularly and on a diet that I follow strictly), was insanely depressed and had awful mood swings, HORRIBLE nonstop acne breakouts for the whole month like I was a middle schooler again, and absolutely zero sex drive. For the love of god, STAY AWAY from Sprintec!"

For Birth Control "I swapped to Sprintec from Microgestin after having suicidal thoughts, weight gain, and no sex drive. Sprintec also made me depressed (with no suicidal thoughts), no sex drive, and caused me to gain another 15 pounds. I am normally very active and social, but I just sat around all day, every day, with no desire to go out and live life. I've since started the Xulane patch and LOVE it. With the patch, I have no depression, no suicidal thoughts, my appetite has gone back to how it was before I started birth control, and my sex drive has returned."

For Birth Control "I'm 27 and have been on this pill for 4 months. My skin has become terrible. I had better skin when I was 20 than I do now, especially because our wedding is 5 months away. The only positives: I've had no weight gain, no spotting in between, and short periods."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have been on Sprintec a year and randomly it causes me to bleed for over a month straight. Which is expensive when it comes to liners or ruining my panties. Since being on it, I have gained weight while I watch my calories and work out a lot. As well, it causes breast pain. It made them bigger to the point I may need a reduction. Don’t forget to mention the emotions. I work hard to control it, but I just want to cry all the time."

For Birth Control "The worst birth control. I have never felt more nauseous, I feel as if I am pregnant! I can't enjoy a glass of wine without throwing up. I'm sensitive to certain smells, I'm extremely bloated, and I gained 8 pounds in 3 weeks. I just started a new pack but am considering quitting it tomorrow and going to my doctor for a new one. Extremely frustrated over the side effects that I've experienced."

For Birth Control "Terrible pill. Depressed, lethargic, moody, snappy, no appetite but weight gain somehow, constipation, white bumps on skin....nothing positive to report except that a little less dry than usual. Not worth it though."

For Ovarian Cysts "I’ve been taking Sprintec for about 3 years now, and I’ve never had any issues. No mood changes, no excessive weight gain/appetite changes, etc. In fact, my weight has stayed very steady over these years. I weighed about 130 lb when I started, and I range between 130-135 now."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for a month and a half now. I started the first day of my period and had my period for an entire month. After it finally ended, I have noticed major mood swings and lots of anxiety. My breasts seem really swollen, and my appetite has increased greatly. I have gained at least 6 or 7 pounds in the last month and a half, and I hate it. My acne has still not improved either. My doctor keeps telling me to wait another month at least, but I do not want to gain any more weight, and I don't like the way I have been feeling."

For Birth Control "I love it. I've been on one other pill as well as the Depo-Provera, which was horrible! Sprintec has made me hungry and gain weight and very hard to lose the weight, but all in all, it's a great pill. No other side effects."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on Sprintec for over a year and have just recently realized that I’ve developed depression and extremely high stress. When I first started taking it, I didn’t notice a big change other than weight gain and a lighter period. I can now say I have completely changed as a person and not for the better. I’ve cried every day for months and have almost ruined my relationship because I simply can’t control my emotions whatsoever. Just keep in mind the first few months may not affect you that much, but keep an eye on your mental health."

For Birth Control "I started this about a month ago. I've gained about 5 lbs, I've been getting acne in places I've never gotten acne before. I get really bad migraines. Lost my sex drive, depression has increased. Overall, don't take it. Get the shot."

For Birth Control "Overall, the Sprintec pill did what it was supposed to: prevent pregnancy. However, I never had a yeast infection until I was on this birth control pill, and I had a long three-year cycle of yeast and BV infections. Then, when my doctor took me off the Sprintec, I haven't had any problems since. While on Sprintec, just taking an antibiotic would cause a yeast infection that takes more than a week to heal. I also noticed while I was on this pill, weight gain was extremely easy and extremely hard to lose weight. I was also bloated at the end of every day. I know our bodies are not all the same, but little things that you wouldn’t suspect to be your birth control's fault just could be."

For Birth Control "The first month starting this pill was TERRIBLE. I had an extremely heavy period that actually freaked me out because I lost so much blood. I also experienced the worst nausea, and it even caused me to throw up one night. Though it was a terrible start, I stuck with it, and now I have been on the same pill for over a year. I experienced a small amount of weight gain, and my breasts also became bigger. The pill definitely does its job at protecting you from having babies (if taken correctly). I get very sick when I miss a pill and take it the next morning. I am VERY moody the next day and feel terrible. Overall, this pill is okay after the first month. I've never been on any other pill, so I don't really have anything to compare it to either."

For Birth Control "Started this after my abortion. I have a year of birth control pills from the clinic, so why not, right? Well, I've been on it for almost 6 months, and I've gained 11 pounds. My blood pressure is higher, I spotted for like 2 months when I started the pill, my lower back constantly hurts, and I have headaches more often and have to pee more often. I'm not sure if these are all directly related to the birth control, but I definitely think weight gain is due to my crazy appetite! I also am getting pimples now, and I never really had that issue since I'm 36 years old."

For Birth Control "I rate this a 5/10 because it's helped in the sense that I haven't gotten pregnant, but I've gained 10 pounds every month since taking it. I have weighed 150 since I was a sophomore in high school, and I'm a sophomore in college and weigh 175. Just this past 4 months of being on it, I've gained 25 pounds."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I got put on Sprintec a month ago. My 4th week taking it (period week) is THE WORST. I’m having every symptom of pregnancy (I know I’m not pregnant), my breasts are so sore it hurts to put a shirt on and wash them in the shower. I’m nauseous and vomiting. Smelling any food makes me want to vomit. Although my appetite has decreased, I have gained 7 pounds in one month. I’m very bloated. The only decent thing about this pill is that it has increased my sex drive immensely. But all the other negative symptoms greatly outweigh the one good one. It’s made my period a lot heavier than usual as well. And my face has never had so much acne on it. Very upsetting."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for a month and a half now. I skipped the placebo pills to miss my period as recommended. I started spotting on Wednesday and got horrible, horrible cramps. Now it's a full-on period, and my cramps are unbearable. I took Menstuaid, Pamprin, and ibuprofen, and NOTHING is working. I also am not myself. I'm very depressed and just want to be alone, not near people. I have no motivation. Yes, it takes 3 months to get used to a medication, but I can't be this sad for 3 months. I'm crying over everything. I've also gained weight, and I'm careful with what I eat."

For Birth Control "I really like Sprintec! I was previously on LoLoestrin, and that was horrible for me. I had tons of breakthrough bleeding, cramps, mood swings, etc. It was just too low of a dose for me personally. Sprintec has been great, and my period is much lighter and more predictable. It also did wonders for my skin. I haven't noticed any weight gain or mood changes. Everybody will react differently to birth control, of course, but this one has been great for me."

For Birth Control "I began taking Mononessa about a year ago. At first, I had some minor side effects like acne, and I did gain 10 pounds. I also have mood swings here and there, but my pharmacy just recently switched me to Sprintec instead and claimed it’s the exact same ingredients. But let me tell you, I have never felt this bad in my life. I had severe stomach pain, to the point where I couldn’t eat for 5 days. Very constipated, and nothing I do helps. I was so nauseous daily that I just stayed in bed for a week straight until finally going to the emergency room because I thought it was something more serious. I have had issues with slight depression in the past, but this whole week I was taking Sprintec, I have been incredibly down and have had awful panic attacks. I may have lost about 6 pounds, but it’s definitely not worth it to suffer from birth control. I immediately switched back to my old one and have had a little more of an appetite, but I’m sure my hormones are just all over the place right now."

For Birth Control "When I was 17, my mother took me to the gynecologist to get me on a basic birth control plan before I left for college. Now I'm 24 and still using Sprintec. Through various insurance plans and pharmacies, I've switched between Sprintec and Previfem over the years, both of which affected me the same way. Since I've been on the pill so long, it's hard for me to say which side effects are present, but throughout my use, I haven't experienced any weight gain or breakouts or pain that couldn't be attributed to my other health conditions. Periods have become lighter and lighter every year. Very regular and predictable. Flow is so light I solely use liners during my period."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 3 years, and I absolutely love it. I have no issues with it. I haven’t gained weight, I don’t get acne, no nausea, no heavy flow. I have a very light flow, and it lasts 4 days out of the week (I’m not sure if that’s because of the BC or if that’s just my body). And most importantly, I don’t get pregnant, and birth control and the pull-out method are the only things we’re using to prevent it."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Sprintec for about 5 months now, and I've had severe changes in my mood and mental state. I used to be a really happy person, but now almost everything makes me burst into tears or lash out. I've gained about 10 pounds just in the last 5 months, and I haven't even changed my eating habits (which were healthy to begin with). My breasts have gotten bigger and are almost always swollen and sore. The only reason I started taking this brand of birth control was because of how cheap it is. I'm going to switch to Microgestin 1.5/30 and see how I do on that."

For Birth Control "Before Sprintec, I would have my period every 6 months. Two times a year. It scared me, so I went to my gyno doctor, and she told me I wasn't ovulating, so I was put on medication. My first month was horrible. I started my period on the very last day of my 4th week. The cramps were unbearable. I didn't sleep for that whole week. I've been gaining weight, and it's so hard to lose weight. I get bad chest pains and feel faint sometimes. It's only been a month and a half though. No acne though."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have been taking birth control for about 5 years now. I used to get the shot every month, but I started gaining a lot of weight after about 1 1/2 years of the shot. I stopped. And then about a year later, I got put on the pill, but I was being very sick on my period and vomiting and not being able to get out of bed due to a cyst that has been on my right ovary since I was 14 years old, and I am 21 now. Now I take Sprintec, and I am so very pleased with this medication. It has helped my period from being at a point where I wouldn't be able to do anything on it to now it is bearable. I do have mood swings on this, like when it is close to my period, and when I am not taking the hormone pills, I cry and feel sad and alone, but this is good for cysts and periods and pregnancy. I would recommend this!"
