For Birth Control "Sprintec did the job of preventing pregnancy, but the side effects are not worth it. I have experienced extreme mood swings, some of the worst depression of my life, anxiety, paranoia (“Do my friends hate me?”), and I have gained 13 pounds in 4 months. Plus, my acne has gone back to pre-teen-level bad, including on my back, shoulders, and chest. And I never actually know when my period will start. Sometimes it’s a week before the placebo week (a 14+ day period!), sometimes it’s a day or two after (pregnancy scare). I also had my first ever yeast infection after antibiotics while on this pill, which I saw mentioned in another review. My boobs did get bigger, but they are often sore. My waist got bigger too! :( The only reason I didn’t give this 1/10 is because it did prevent pregnancy. (Though I’m on the second day of the placebo right now and have not started my period, so we’ll see.) But I will be stopping Sprintec immediately and finding a different pill."

For Birth Control "I started using Sprintec after requesting a pill that helped reduce acne. The 1st month I was on the pill I was extremely nauseated without vomiting during the day. It gradually decreased, and I currently experience no nausea at all in my 3rd month. Literally, the only other con of this pill is that I have gained about 5-7 lbs., which is significant for me because I am 5'0 and have always maintained the exact same weight. On the bright side, my skin is MUCH clearer with very few breakouts (they are somewhat more frequent when I am on my period). I have NO cramps, which is huge for me because they used to be almost debilitating. My bra cup size has also increased from a 'B' to a 'C', and I feel less moody while on my period."

For Ovarian Cysts "About 4 1/2 years ago, I had surgery to remove a corpus luteum cyst and another cyst that burst. Since then, I have been on Sprintec with no other cyst-related problems. I have no mood swings, nausea, depression... basically no negative side effects, except for a little weight gain. I can't complain about that."

For Endometriosis "I've been taking Sprintec for 8 months. I take it continuously, skipping the placebo pills. It has helped my endometriosis, but the breakthrough bleeding is non-stop. It's awful. I'm swapping to another pill to see if I can get the bleeding to lessen. I'm sad it didn't work to prevent periods because it didn't cause any nausea or weight gain. Other pills I've tried in the past caused both! Fingers crossed for the next one..."

For Birth Control "Sprintec did its job of preventing pregnancy and had the added benefit of clearing my skin. For the 3 months I was on it, however, I experienced a 10 lb weight gain (I’ve had no issues keeping weight off in the past, but even with intense exercise every other day and calorie counting on the pill, my weight gradually rose without drastic lifestyle changes). I also experienced the worst mood swings of my life (anger, irritation) and had really dark thoughts almost every time I restarted the pills for the month and came off of them for my period week. My breasts were excruciatingly tender (even laying on my back hurt them) for the first 2 months, though this stopped during my 3rd month. My libido was non-existent within the first month of starting the pill. Since going off of the pills for good, I’ve lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks, which makes me think that most of the weight was water retention. My mood is back to normal, and my libido has come back, though so has my acne."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec when I was 17 (now 18). It did its job, and I was ecstatic. Around a year, I gained 15 pounds and noticed that my anxiety and depression were getting worse than previously. I expressed concern to my OBGYN and was repeatedly told that Sprintec does NOT affect those things. Fast forward to the week I stopped, there wasn’t a moment of my life for the past several months that wasn’t in crippling fear. Car rides, my loved ones out to kill me, losing my boyfriend... I was at the point of insanity and extremely close to the edge. I made an appointment with a DIFFERENT doctor to get on meds, but since I really didn’t want to, we decided to try a different type of contraceptive. It’s been 2 weeks since I stopped, and I’ve slowly been able to do the things that caused me immense amounts of fear. My panic attacks are still here, but they’re less often and intense. It honestly feels weird not consistently being anxious and depressed. If you are suffering, please don’t be afraid to stop/switch."

For Birth Control "I used to have intense menstrual pains. I started taking Sprintec in 2012, so I've been on it for almost five years. I did not have an adverse reaction to it. The menstrual pains are almost completely gone. I notice when I do not get much exercise that month, I have minor cramps. My periods (usually spotting or light periods) start on Wednesday and usually are gone by Saturday. I've downgraded to panty liners. I always try to take my pills at 10:30 every night. Occasionally, I would be an hour or two late, and after I got into the habit of taking the pill every day, I stopped taking the white sugar pills. Acne actually cleared up, no weight gain, or depression."

For Birth Control "I absolutely loathe this birth control. I've been on a low dosage estrogen birth control for 12 years. My gynecologist switched me to Sprintec after I had an ovarian cyst. I absolutely hate this form of BC. For someone who is in good health, happy, exercises, and has never experienced bad cramping, I've experienced: horrible mood swings, weight gain, enlarged breasts, and awful cramping. I'm not one to usually write a review, my experience has been so terrible I wanted to share. Try another form of BC."

For Birth Control "I’m on this birth control, Sprintec, right now. I’m 5’4, 135 pounds, and I haven’t had a severe problem with it yet. It has increased my appetite, causing me to gain 3-4 pounds. If you live a pretty active lifestyle (working out 2-4 days a week), you shouldn’t gain much weight. It did a REALLY good job keeping my period 6-7 days long, unlike my last birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been on this specific brand for over 10 years. Take it every night before I go to bed. I have had weight gain, but it's a maintained gain, but it's been 100% effective, never been pregnant! My sexual urges visit me usually in my 2nd week after my period, so it hasn't completely killed my libido. Normal periods lasting from Wednesday to Sunday... Been fabulous for me!"

For Birth Control "As a birth control, I was on this for over 6 years with no problems. Now I'm back on to control my moods after 2 births. Trying to get my hormones back in check. And I'm not too happy. I feel like I have no energy and no libido, both of which could be due to the kids. However, my mood swings are back in check. I have gained a significant amount of weight in the year I've been back on it (6 lbs) despite no changes in diet or exercise. So overall, it's doing what it should. But I wish I was me again. Hopefully that will come. My husband is really sick of the no libido thing though."

For Birth Control "I just started this pill, and I am already having so many issues. I came online to see if anyone else was experiencing the same things, and thank goodness I found these comments so I knew I wasn’t alone. Since being on Sprintec, I have had horrible headaches and painful acne. And that’s just the beginning, I have also started gaining weight even though I just started the pill. I have had major car sickness, and the worst part is that I have had some spotting and some serious mood swings. I go from crying my eyes out one minute to so mad I could scream the next. For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for about 2 years, and I love it. I tried 2 different pills before this one, and they were awful. Since starting this pill, my periods have been extremely light, no significant weight gain (about 5 pounds), and it is very effective at preventing pregnancy. Sprintec is the epitome of good birth control from my experience. This pill has worked amazingly for me, but everyone's body is different and reacts in different ways. The only true way to know if a pill is right for you is to try it out."

For Birth Control "I will shortly finish my first pack of Sprintec and must say that this has been the best birth control I've yet to be on. No issues with sex drive, tiredness, weight gain other than my breasts, which have become a bit larger; however, really tender, but I don't mind and/or complain. My skin did break out at first but is slowly clearing up, and I didn't have much of an appetite 2 to 3 days in, that too is better. Other than the few minor changes, I will continue to use Sprintec!"

For Birth Control "I've never taken birth control before because I've never been sexually active (and I'm still not). I started this a few months before my wedding, and it seemed totally fine at first. I read a ton of reviews that warned of major mood swings and irritability, but I never experienced that. I also read a ton of reviews that praised this pill for helping with flawless skin, but that is NOT the case for me. While my chest did grow and I didn't have mood swings or weight gain, I experienced some of the most painful and humiliating acne of my life while taking it. My forehead never breaks out, but for 3 constant months it's been a war zone, as are my cheeks, chin, and brow area. I'm switching to Yaz. Fingers crossed I clear up before the big day."

For Birth Control "I couldn't stand taking this pill for more than 7 days. The first couple of days were fine, and it increased my sex drive, and I felt good-no day-to-day pain from my endometriosis (which is why I was taking the pill). Then I started going down. I started getting very agitated, annoyed, and just mad at nothing. Until the seventh day, I was so angry, nothing bad happened, just a nice normal day. I really was out of control emotionally. I hated everyone around me to the point I felt like I wanted to hurt someone. Yeah, it made me that mad. I quit taking it, and the anger has now gone away, and I'm back to normal. Oh, also it had made me gain nearly 5 lbs now, while I have been on a diet that makes me lose weight fast. It caused me explosive rage and weight gain. My family said they couldn't stand living with me if I kept taking it, and I agreed. If this pill worked for you, I'm happy for you, I wish it did for me. If it didn't work for you, I hope you'll find something that does! Best of luck!"

For Birth Control "I am almost done with my 28-day pack, and I am not happy. I'm having the heaviest period of my life (5 days in and still absurd cramps, constant heavy flow-TMI, sorry). My body is literally freaking out on me. I am a slim, active girl, but I am sluggish, gaining weight (how), and my skin is not clearing up on Sprintec. It might just be me. My body might just be changing with age, but I'm sharing my experience anyway. I'm throwing away my next month's pack and saving myself from this misery."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Sprintec for about 3 weeks, haven't even started my period pills yet. So far, I am pleased with the results, I was getting the Depo shot before I switched to Sprintec. I switched because I never stopped bleeding on the Depo shot for almost a year, I bled. So far, no side effects, no weight gain, no headaches or nausea, and I actually think it is helping clear what little acne I had."

For Birth Control "For birth control, it did its job. Never got pregnant with my boyfriend (we NEVER EVER used additional protection). However, it made me gain a lot of weight, made my face look swollen, gave me very bad back acne, and made me very dry down there. I developed a burning sensation in the vaginal area, which I thought was because of laser hair removal, but once I switched to a different brand (Microgestin), it went away!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Sprintec for about 10 months. For the first few months, I was very nauseous all day long; the nauseousness was getting so bad I switched to taking it at night. After doing that, the next couple of months were fine; granted my periods were a day or two longer than usual, but I didn’t have any weight gain or enlarged breasts or anything. The last four months, I’ve been super depressed (even having suicidal thoughts), super emotional, throwing up in the morning at least once during the week, difficulty sleeping, all while being exhausted, my face is swollen, random period-like cramping when I’m not on my period, and I’ve even experienced leg cramps that feel like I have something blocked in my legs (it usually happens at night and becomes so annoying/painful that I can’t sleep). I’m not myself. I’ve contacted my doctor, and hopefully they’ll switch me. The pill works for preventing pregnancy, but it has definitely altered my life, mostly in a negative light."

For Birth Control "I personally have had a horrible experience with this birth control. Of course, I understand it's going to affect everyone in a different way, but I wanted to share my experience. Around the third month of taking Sprintec, I started noticing my mood swings were out of control. If I'm not mad, I usually just feel numb. I don't genuinely feel excited about anything. I have 0 sex drive, and I'm only 21 years old. It made my breasts bigger, and I feel like I gained a little weight, which I don't mind. I'm looking to switch to something with lower estrogen!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for 3 weeks now, I've got 3 blue pills left. I've been on 4 different kinds of birth control in the past, and I can honestly say that Sprintec has been my favorite! I have had no mood swings or weight gain, which is awesome. I had horrible weight gain with other birth controls. I have chronic migraines, and I haven't had any increase in them or any more acne than normal. I did have a very suppressed appetite at first, I was very hungry but would sit down to eat and just be nauseous at the thought. That only lasted a week and a half or so. My breasts have grown, which I'm not complaining about at all. All in all, I'm very pleased and would recommend Sprintec to anyone!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Sprintec for the past 6 months. The first day I started taking it, I got a really bad headache and nausea. Every time I start a new cycle, I get a light headache. I’ve gained about 10 pounds since I started; I blame it on the hormones because I exercise 5 times a week and have a good eating habit. Also, some mood swings are noticeable, but again, hormones. However, it regulated my period; I could go 2-3 months without getting it, and it also completely took away the cramps. It’s worked well, but I’m indecisive if I should continue using it because of the weight, headaches, and mood swings."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec in October 2016, this was my first time on birth control, so I did not know what to expect. The first few months were normal, as if I wasn't on anything. However, I did start gaining weight, and my periods started coming later than they were supposed to. For Endometriosis "I have been on Sprintec for almost 9 months now. My doctor prescribed it because I had abnormal periods with non-stop vomiting, serious IBS-like symptoms with blood in my stool, and heavy bleeding. She says that most probably I have endometriosis. Every month, for at least a week, my life became awful. I had to take at least two days off work per month. I also have fibroids with a history of myomectomy. Sprintec improved my life immensely. Now, I do not experience nausea and intestinal issues as often as before, and I do not have to take days off work anymore. The problem is that I have been on my period for two months now. Not even a normal day in between on which I don't have to wear a pad. The bleeding does not stop, and it is getting heavier and heavier. Last night, I experienced huge blood clots and cramps. I have also gained weight and have headaches all the time. I am so disappointed. I can't go back to my life before Sprintec, but now life is no fun either."
