For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for four months. The first month I started taking it, I all of a sudden got extremely depressed and felt on edge all the time. I experienced nausea, some breast pain, extreme headaches, and I gained 15 pounds in the first 3 months. Some of the symptoms have gone away, and I haven't had any breakout, but I still get down in the dumps. One day I'll be high, and a couple of hours later, I felt like I wanted to crawl under a rock. Before getting on this birth control, my boyfriend and I had sex every day at least once. Now I'm lucky if I feel like doing it twice a week. There's maybe a 3-4 day period where I want to, besides that, I just don't feel like it anymore. I wouldn't recommend this birth control at all."

For Birth Control "I start my third pack of Sprintec tomorrow, and I've been thrilled with the results! I primarily take it to manage my acne since I get terrible cysts on my jaw and cheek all the time. After about a month and a half, I have only 2 tiny spots on my right cheek and no new breakouts (except those spots which got a little bigger during the off week then went back down). I also use a prescription lotion from Curology. Beware: the first month, my period went from 5 days to 7, with breakthrough bleeding for another week, followed by a 2-week period. Cramps weren't bad, but bleeding was heavier. Skin maintained. I have been a bit moodier and gained some weight, but that's probably because of stress. My breasts grew too, so I can't complain about that, lol."

For Birth Control "Honestly hated this. I wasn’t on it for long enough to really get an idea of how this pill was because the side effects were so bad that I couldn’t take it anymore. It gave me bad acne (which I never get), I was bloated all day, every day and gained 11 pounds in about two weeks, got awful mood swings, and had a really low sex drive. The only reason I’m giving this pill two points is one for preventing pregnancy and one for not causing spotting, which some pills cause. It took me about two months after going off the pill to lose the weight. I switched to a low dose pill and liked it way more. My boobs also went up a size or two and were painful, but that is expected with the pill. Would recommend this pill to no one though as I had really extreme side effects."

For Birth Control "I am almost done with my 28-day pack, and I am not happy. I'm having the heaviest period of my life (5 days in and still absurd cramps, constant heavy flow-TMI, sorry). My body is literally freaking out on me. I am a slim, active girl, but I am sluggish, gaining weight (how), and my skin is not clearing up on Sprintec. It might just be me. My body might just be changing with age, but I'm sharing my experience anyway. I'm throwing away my next month's pack and saving myself from this misery."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Sprintec for 7 months. It’s not perfect, but I’ve had a fairly positive experience with it compared to other BC pills, which caused severe mood swings, depression, and constant nausea. I have gained weight on this pill, which isn’t great (my diet hasn’t changed and exercise has increased). My acne-prone skin has been doing great, however, and is clear. I always get one minor breakout the week before placebo/withdrawal bleeding. I also experience nausea and minor mood swings in the 2-3 days leading up to my withdrawal bleed. These side effects have all been very consistent and predictable for me, which I haven’t found on any other pill. So aside from the stubborn weight, I’m happy with this BC."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking this pill for extremely heavy, painful periods that occur twice a month with constant spotting in between. Basically, I was bleeding all the time. I also have terrible cystic acne around my jawline when I’m menstruating. The first two weeks have been terrible. I was so nauseous every day of the first week that I vomited at work. The second week, the nausea has improved. However, I started cramping with a “high-pitched,” sharp, pinchy kind of uterine pain I’ve never felt before. I’ve been bleeding, but it’s somehow different than normal period bleeding. It HAS caused me to gain weight. It may be water weight, but I can still see it and feel it, and it still weighs something on the scale, so it counts as weight gain. It has made my skin less oily already, however, so I’m going to continue to take it until I’ve had enough or don’t start seeing improvement."

For Birth Control "I couldn't stand taking this pill for more than 7 days. The first couple of days were fine, and it increased my sex drive, and I felt good-no day-to-day pain from my endometriosis (which is why I was taking the pill). Then I started going down. I started getting very agitated, annoyed, and just mad at nothing. Until the seventh day, I was so angry, nothing bad happened, just a nice normal day. I really was out of control emotionally. I hated everyone around me to the point I felt like I wanted to hurt someone. Yeah, it made me that mad. I quit taking it, and the anger has now gone away, and I'm back to normal. Oh, also it had made me gain nearly 5 lbs now, while I have been on a diet that makes me lose weight fast. It caused me explosive rage and weight gain. My family said they couldn't stand living with me if I kept taking it, and I agreed. If this pill worked for you, I'm happy for you, I wish it did for me. If it didn't work for you, I hope you'll find something that does! Best of luck!"

For Birth Control "I realized after taking this birth control I didn't have suicidal thoughts anymore. It keeps me sane and happy. No mood swings for me. I'm a better person on this. Also, no daily discharge is a plus. I do find that my want for sex has gone down a lot. But it works for my marriage. Hair loss after three months due to the change of my estrogen but grew back. I totally recommend it for anyone over 35. Also, expected a 13-pound weight gain when using."

For Birth Control "I'm starting my sixth month on Sprintec. The first month, I had a decreased sex drive, and my acne basically disappeared. From then on, my sex drive has increased dramatically, and the only time I might break out is the week of my period, which lasts for about three days. I didn't gain weight, get bigger breasts, nor have yeast infections or urinary tract infections. For me, this pill is amazing, though every woman reacts differently to different birth controls. I love this."

For Birth Control "I'm 16 and have been on this birth control for about a year and a few months now. The first few months, I had weird brown discharge, and I was really moody, my boobs were really sore, and they grew. I've gained about 15 pounds since being on birth control. I was put on it for regulating my period, but I have had my first boyfriend and I have been sexually active. My acne wasn't bad to begin with, but now it's starting to act up. I still get moody, and sometimes my periods come three days late (it's exactly three days every time), but it ends up coming, which worried me before. But it does its job in regulating and preventing pregnancy."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I love this pill! I've tried four before this one, and they all have given me terrible side effects, such as severe nausea, depression, weight gain. With Sprintec, I've actually lost some weight because my hormonal eating is tamed now. Lol, the only thing is, in the beginning, I felt a little tired, so I started taking vitamins, and I feel fine now. I take B12."

For Birth Control "The first birth control I was ever on was Sprintec. I was on it for about 7 months before my pharmacy changed the birth control contract. I hated the new one I was on, eventually gained 15 pounds in a matter of 3-4 months. Which isn’t normal for me. I stopped taking the pill and didn’t finish getting the pills for my second year. Recently, I decided it was time I got back on it. They put me on an off-brand (Previum), and I liked it at first. My periods were lighter, and I finally had an appetite. Until I gained 25 pounds in 2 months. Then, the excitement when I opened my bag from the pharmacy, and it was Sprintec. Within a week of taking it, I already feel like I’ve dropped some of the weight, and of course, I still have my appetite. I haven’t weighed myself to confirm. But I feel skinnier within just the couple of weeks from the last pill I took. This is honestly the best birth control I’ve ever taken. And I’ve taken 3 different brands."

For Birth Control "I started taking this after I had been on Tri-Sprintec for several years. I had some pretty serious mood swings with that birth control, and thankfully did not experience that with Sprintec. I was on it for three months, and in that time, I gained almost 10 pounds. I went up an entire cup size in that time, and finally got sick of dealing with the weight gain. It didn't really alleviate menstrual cramps either, but did help me with treating acne. Overall, if you don't experience weight gain, it's probably fine for you, but didn't work for me."

For Birth Control "I have very mixed emotions about this pill. I began to take it because of my long and painful periods, and my first period on it was very light and easy, but as time went on, they went back to normal and didn’t help much. The pill cleared up my acne so well! But I gained 10 pounds while taking it due to the crazy cravings it made me have. I decided to stop it due to the rapid weight gain and the stretch marks that it gave me. Didn’t work the way I wanted it to, but it may for someone else."

For Birth Control "I have been on this for almost a year, and in the months using it, I have gained a good bit of weight. That's the only downfall. My mood has increased, my periods are not irregular, my skin is clearer. My only complaint: the weight gain."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended I take Sprintec to regulate my estrogen levels and to regulate my period. I began taking it around 5 years ago. During my time with the pill, I had a regular period, which is what was the aim of my doctors, but I was never informed of any side effects. During the time I took this pill, I began to have increasingly severe symptoms, which I did not realize were from the pill. I gained weight easily, lost a lot of body hair, and the most notable side effect was the intense mood swings. I have a history of depression, and if you do as well, I highly suggest avoiding this medication. It made my depression so severe I was having breakdowns every night, and my downs were so intense I considered committing myself. I stopped taking it 2 months ago, and this month I have noticed a dramatic increase in my emotional stability. No other life events have changed. I was never informed this could be a side effect of the birth control, and I really wish I would have stopped sooner."

For Birth Control "Sprintec birth control pill may be like other birth control pills, I haven't tried any other ones yet, but this one is making me absolutely insane! I have the worst mood swings, anxiety, and depression! It cleared up my acne, but my sex drive went down to almost nothing. Extreme vaginal dryness and weight gain. My boobs did grow a whole cup size, but they have hurt every single day for the last three packs. I am going to try Portia next after this pack is done. I can't take it anymore!"

For Birth Control "Was put on Sprintec after Ortho Tri-Cyclen (and the other effective generics of it) was discontinued. My hormonal cystic acne came back, I gained some weight, and I felt generally moody and anxious. The only positives were that it didn't give me yeast or dryness as my previous BC did. Gave it a solid 4-month trial but not worth the painful acne returning."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec the second week of August, followed by my period. Ever since I started the pill, I've experienced feeling nauseous, vomiting, morning sickness, my sex drive was low, and depression. I wouldn't want to be around anyone and was just always sad. I also experienced weight gain, which wasn't a problem. But I haven't stopped bleeding since I started the first pack. And I don't think I can handle being depressed for another two months."

For Birth Control "I switched from a generic form of Yaz to this pill last month after being on Yaz for about two years. This morning, I started my period, so it definitely works as advertised. For me, this pill is a lot better than the one I was on before. I have a lot fewer mood swings (they're still there, but not nearly as many), less acne, and my boobs have gone up almost another cup. My only dislikes are how gassy this pill makes me and how much hungrier I am, however, I'll take those things over nausea and occasional actual illness. I have put on a little bit of weight, but it wasn't much, and now that I'm aware of how hungry this pill makes me, I'm keeping healthier snacks on hand. I'm a fan of this pill, but it's also interacting fairly mildly with me."

For Endometriosis "I am on week 3 of this birth control. I have been on different types of birth control pills consistently for 11 years. My doctor had me switch off my last birth control due to irregular bleeding and pain associated with my endometriosis. I have gained about 8 lbs in 3 weeks on Sprintec. I initially thought I just had a bad week of not eating great, but was still pretty shocked with the amount of weight gain, which is unusual for me. After a few days of practically starving myself and exercising, the weight still remained. Again, completely unusual for me, I can normally lose weight pretty quickly. My husband agrees I look pregnant. I am stopping the pill immediately. I’d rather have pain than feel this fat. It’s depressing - which is another side effect I’ve heard. Maybe we’re all just depressed 'cause we’re fat!"

For Birth Control "Was on this birth control for two months. I gained weight, about 6 lb. I had hoped for my acne to clear up, which didn’t. Only got worse. The main reason I stopped taking it was due to the mood swings. I was constantly tired, couldn’t focus, and just didn’t feel like myself whatsoever. I couldn’t take another month of it. My anxiety was beyond, and I found myself sobbing for no reason."

For Ovarian Cysts "My experience with Sprintec was a nightmare. I’ve taken Orthocyclen for over 10 years with no issues. When my pharmacy discontinued it, they offered Sprintec, and in about a month's time, I experienced the following symptoms: depression/anxiety, dizziness/nausea, exhaustion/fatigue, chronic headaches, thinning hair at the top of the scalp, mood swings, weight gain (about 5-7 pounds). It did keep my skin clear... If you notice any side effects, please discontinue. I thought I was going crazy... I spent several hundred dollars on doctors' visits, hair appointments, and the sadness was unprecedented. Please do not take."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been using Sprintec for about 8 months, and I have very mixed reviews. My period only lasts three to four days, so that’s a plus. Also, my skin cleared up. The cons are the horrible mood swings and extreme depression I’ve experienced while on the pill. I’ve also gained a lot of weight since taking it. So yes, it prevents pregnancy, but the mood swings and weight gain aren’t really worth it..."

For Endometriosis "I have been on Sprintec for almost 9 months now. My doctor prescribed it because I had abnormal periods with non-stop vomiting, serious IBS-like symptoms with blood in my stool, and heavy bleeding. She says that most probably I have endometriosis. Every month, for at least a week, my life became awful. I had to take at least two days off work per month. I also have fibroids with a history of myomectomy. Sprintec improved my life immensely. Now, I do not experience nausea and intestinal issues as often as before, and I do not have to take days off work anymore. The problem is that I have been on my period for two months now. Not even a normal day in between on which I don't have to wear a pad. The bleeding does not stop, and it is getting heavier and heavier. Last night, I experienced huge blood clots and cramps. I have also gained weight and have headaches all the time. I am so disappointed. I can't go back to my life before Sprintec, but now life is no fun either."
