For Birth Control "After a few months of being on this medication, I found that my mood was changing. I would be sad, started caring about things that wouldn't typically bother me, and I also found myself crying a lot. I was taking this medication for 4 years and then I stopped. I've been off it for 1 year and am still experiencing everything listed above. I thought I would go back to my regular self before I started this medication, but that didn't happen even after being off it for a year."

For Ovarian Cysts "The only reason I gave this birth control a 2 was because it made my periods last two days, and my acne wasn't as bad. That's the only good thing I have to say about it. It has my anxiety come back, severe nausea, bad acid reflux, migraines, mood swings, insomnia, depression at times, and extremely tender breasts. It's hard to go off someone else's experiences because everyone is different."

For Birth Control "I was on this BC for 8 years, and it wasn't until I got off of it that I realized how horrible it was for me. I had terrible mood swings, anxiety, and depression. I felt psycho. I experienced hair loss, extreme bloating, and frequent constipation. I was diagnosed with IBS while on this BC. I was constantly tired. The only positives for me are I never got pregnant while on it, and my periods only lasted for about 2 days. Everyone is different, but watch yourself closely while on this BC. I was miserable because of it, and I didn't even know it."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control. I was on another brand until insurance wouldn't cover any longer, was told this was the same thing. It is NOT. I have never had such severe anxiety and depression in my life. Lightheaded every day, out of it and foggy brain, tired, cranky, nauseous. I feel as though I don't control my own mind and body anymore. Stopped taking last week and am hoping the side effects go away soon. Please listen to me when I say, do not take this one - it will mess up your hormones and has the worst side effects of any birth control on the market."

For Birth Control "So I started this Sprintec pill about a month and a half ago. While it has done a good job at doing its job, stopping me from getting pregnant, I haven’t had the greatest experience. I had spotting about a week before my period actually started, which I didn’t really have a problem with, although it was annoying. I have had more acne than usual, and I’ve always had a pretty clear face. Recently, I’m having a lot of bumps show up on my forehead and cheeks where I usually wouldn’t ever get them. My biggest problem would be my mood. I am a pretty sensitive/emotional person as it is, but this has made it so much worse. I don’t recognize myself at times, and I’m heavily crying almost every day, sometimes twice a day. I’m apologizing to my boyfriend all the time for bawling my eyes out over him doing something that was just a joke, etc. I’ve been getting mad a lot easier as well, and I’m irritable all the time. I'm not going to stay on this much longer. I can’t stand not being myself and being so emotional."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Sprintec for about 3 years now, and I can only say that I had problems for the first month of using it. During that month, I had terrible mood swings and was very irritable and depressed, but I adjusted soon after. My breasts have grown, my period has regulated completely, and my skin is almost always clear. It's a dream pill."

For Ovarian Cysts "About 4 1/2 years ago, I had surgery to remove a corpus luteum cyst and another cyst that burst. Since then, I have been on Sprintec with no other cyst-related problems. I have no mood swings, nausea, depression... basically no negative side effects, except for a little weight gain. I can't complain about that."

For Birth Control "Sprintec did its job of preventing pregnancy and had the added benefit of clearing my skin. For the 3 months I was on it, however, I experienced a 10 lb weight gain (I’ve had no issues keeping weight off in the past, but even with intense exercise every other day and calorie counting on the pill, my weight gradually rose without drastic lifestyle changes). I also experienced the worst mood swings of my life (anger, irritation) and had really dark thoughts almost every time I restarted the pills for the month and came off of them for my period week. My breasts were excruciatingly tender (even laying on my back hurt them) for the first 2 months, though this stopped during my 3rd month. My libido was non-existent within the first month of starting the pill. Since going off of the pills for good, I’ve lost 9 lbs in 2 weeks, which makes me think that most of the weight was water retention. My mood is back to normal, and my libido has come back, though so has my acne."

For Birth Control "I am a 21-year-old female. I have been on Sprintec since I was 19. I started it to control my heavy periods. I have not been sexually active while using this pill. It has dramatically reduced my cystic acne (about 90%), and my weight has been stable while on this pill (I am 5 feet 9 and 160 lbs, my weight has fluctuated a few pounds up and down during the past two years, but that's my normal weight, and I am at a healthy BMI, though I could stand to lose 10 or 15 lbs). I have not experienced any mood swings. My mood has been extremely stable. I used to get very depressed after ovulating, and it would go away while on my period. I believe I have PMDD, but this pill has kept it under control."

For Birth Control "Sprintec is OK. It did its job of keeping me pregnancy-free, but it didn't do a great job of keeping my emotions in check. I had some pretty bad mood swings (to be fair, it was also summer 2020). The worst part was my periods. On the advice of my doctor, I skipped the placebo pills, and everything was OK for three months. Then, I had a 72-day period. The only thing that stopped it was taking the placebo pills and having my normal (very heavy and painful) period. Thinking it was a one-time thing, I went back to skipping the placebo, and lo and behold, it happened again - a 31-day period. After that, I switched to another birth control."

For Birth Control "I absolutely loathe this birth control. I've been on a low dosage estrogen birth control for 12 years. My gynecologist switched me to Sprintec after I had an ovarian cyst. I absolutely hate this form of BC. For someone who is in good health, happy, exercises, and has never experienced bad cramping, I've experienced: horrible mood swings, weight gain, enlarged breasts, and awful cramping. I'm not one to usually write a review, my experience has been so terrible I wanted to share. Try another form of BC."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on this pill for almost 7 months now, and when I first started, I would have horrible mood swings. I've been depressed ever since the first pill, and now I have been bleeding for the last month, so I've decided to stop taking it and look for something better. Nor did it help the cramps. Just made them worse and last longer."

For Birth Control "At the beginning, I loved Sprintec. For the first 2 months, I hadn’t noticed any changes in my mood, which was my biggest concern. My periods were regular, and the pill did what it was supposed to do. However, around the third month is when everything began to change. My hormones would be through the roof before my period. Everything would make me mad, and I would cry once a day. Gradually, those symptoms just began to spread out through every day and peak a week before I was supposed to get my period. I would be hungry all the time. My poor boyfriend couldn’t believe what was happening. I didn’t even recognize myself, and I found myself apologizing over and over for crying and getting upset over everything. My boyfriend told me to just get off the pill. My feelings, well-being, and our relationship were not worth me taking it. We switched to another non-hormonal birth control method. I’m back to normal now."

For Birth Control "I just started this pill, and I am already having so many issues. I came online to see if anyone else was experiencing the same things, and thank goodness I found these comments so I knew I wasn’t alone. Since being on Sprintec, I have had horrible headaches and painful acne. And that’s just the beginning, I have also started gaining weight even though I just started the pill. I have had major car sickness, and the worst part is that I have had some spotting and some serious mood swings. I go from crying my eyes out one minute to so mad I could scream the next. It’s making me feel anxious, depressed, irritable, and just overall not like my usual self."

For Birth Control "I've never taken birth control before because I've never been sexually active (and I'm still not). I started this a few months before my wedding, and it seemed totally fine at first. I read a ton of reviews that warned of major mood swings and irritability, but I never experienced that. I also read a ton of reviews that praised this pill for helping with flawless skin, but that is NOT the case for me. While my chest did grow and I didn't have mood swings or weight gain, I experienced some of the most painful and humiliating acne of my life while taking it. My forehead never breaks out, but for 3 constant months it's been a war zone, as are my cheeks, chin, and brow area. I'm switching to Yaz. Fingers crossed I clear up before the big day."

For Birth Control "Please stay away from this birth control!!! It is absolutely horrible! It caused me severe depression, anxiety, bloating, and mood swings. I was previously on Yasmin with NO problems, my doctor just isn't prescribing it anymore because of the rare side effects. I gave Sprintec a try for 2 weeks and just threw it in the trash. After 24 hours of not taking it, I finally am starting to feel back to my calm, rational self again. Can't believe this is on the market!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Was having abnormal bleeding for a month, went to the emergency room, was prescribed Provera for 10 days, the day after the period and blood clots came back. Went to the gyno, took an ultrasound, no polyps, no fibroids, nothing, but was told the lining of the uterus is thin. Was given this medicine to take 3 a day for the first 3 days, then 2 a day for the next 2, then 1 a day. The bleeding has stopped for now and I'm okay on day 4. Everybody reacts differently. I haven't had any mood swings or any other side effects, so I'm thankful for this birth control."

For Endometriosis "Remember everyone’s body reacts differently to birth control, so don’t let the reviews scare you from trying. I decided to take Sprintec after my friend was on it and had no problems. The first month I had bad nausea, and my cramps were worse than before. But after the second pack, the cramps were better, and I had less bleeding then. Besides the first couple of weeks, I experienced no mood changes. I have normally acne-prone skin and get breakouts before my period. But on the second month of Sprintec, I had the worst cystic acne I have ever had in my life. My face was completely covered in painful breakouts. I decided to stay on it until I completed my third pack to see if my body was adjusting to it. But after the third month, it continued to breakout. My doctor decided I should stop taking it. After stopping taking it, my skin drastically cleared up. It took three months off of it to 100% clear up my skin to normal. So if you have acne-prone skin or get breakouts around your period, I would not recommend this."

For Birth Control "I gave Sprintec a 10 for effectiveness. This will be rather long: when I first started the pill, everything was normal. I got my period 3 pills into the placebo pills (and I have every month since). I noticed that I do have some vaginal discharge, but it is normal, and it happens usually when I get a new pack. When I'm on my period, my cramps actually worsened, and I'd often get terrible leg cramps that would wake me up in dead sleep. But fortunately, the leg cramps disappeared a few months in. Mood changes: I do tend to get mad easily now and cry a lot more than I used to. Also, it made my sex drive plummet, I was not interested in anything sexual. Also, it made my orgasms very faint and last maybe 3 seconds. This did go away a little."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for about 7 or 8 months. I noticed I began getting very depressed after about 2 or 3 months, and now it has only gotten worse. I'm on antidepressants, which aren't helping. I have horrible migraines almost every day, which seem to get worse. My period happens about every 2-3 weeks. I'm tired all the time, and I have ridiculous mood swings. I'm so touchy and sensitive. After reading this, I'm going to stop taking this birth control."

For Birth Control "I LOVE this birth control. It has helped with my mood swings and has cleared my skin dramatically. It has also given me one cup size, from C to D, awesome! I can definitely feel the difference when I get to the placebo week and how I get moody again because it's a fake version of the pills. Once I go back to the first week, my hormones are balanced again. Nothing bad to say about these pills. Glad I decided to try them! Will probably use them for life!"

For Birth Control "I took this pill for almost a year. I thought the symptoms I had would go away, but they only got worse! Severe crying spells and extreme sensitivity to anything someone said to me, and also mood swings with depression and anxiety. I am hoping a different pill will not give me the same horrible experience this gave me. If you are experiencing these side effects, I encourage you to switch as soon as you notice them. They will not get better, and it will affect your social life. As far as physical side effects, I only had spotting the first few months, which is normal."

For Birth Control "I personally have had a horrible experience with this birth control. Of course, I understand it's going to affect everyone in a different way, but I wanted to share my experience. Around the third month of taking Sprintec, I started noticing my mood swings were out of control. If I'm not mad, I usually just feel numb. I don't genuinely feel excited about anything. I have 0 sex drive, and I'm only 21 years old. It made my breasts bigger, and I feel like I gained a little weight, which I don't mind. I'm looking to switch to something with lower estrogen!"

For Birth Control "Normal side effects from Sprintec 28 pills. Took pills on time every day. The first week of taking the pills, I experienced some minor mood swings and bloating, but that was about it. I've had slight cravings for chocolate. Maintained my usual diet and exercise. No weight gain or weight loss. No increase or decrease in acne. Experienced minor spotting the week before my period. Other than that, so far so good. If you're looking for any benefits outside of birth control, this is not the pill for you. If you're looking for a birth control that doesn't disrupt your regular everyday routine, I recommend Sprintec 28. Of course, pills affect everyone differently. I mentally prepared myself for all the negative side effects that might occur, just to find that there really weren't any."
