For Birth Control "I was previously on Larin Fe 1.5/30 and suffered from recurring yeast infections and increased discharge. Decided to change to Sprintec due to these side effects. Didn't help much. I don't think this increased my discharge or made it any worse. However, the mental side effects were the worst. It caused terrible mood swings, lethargy, excessive crying, and no sex drive. It was even hard to have an orgasm, and if I did, they would only last for about 3 seconds. I had no breakthrough bleeding or cramping. The first week, I did get massive headaches from the dosage change and was increasingly nauseated. I have heard great things about this birth control, I just think it is not for me. PROS: Effective (not pregnant), no breakthrough bleeding or cramping CONS: Mood swings, no sex drive. I really tried to stick it out for longer than a month, but I decided the side effects outweighed the benefits, and I had to give it up."

For Birth Control "I was put on this Sprintec after I started spotting on my old pill. Everything was fine for the first few months, but then I started to notice I had terrible mood swings and I was depressed. I was starting to break out also, which is extremely rare for me. Lots of random spotting and bleeding during sex. Definitely not worth it, and I wish I never did this to myself with this pill."

For Birth Control "I started taking this after I had been on Tri-Sprintec for several years. I had some pretty serious mood swings with that birth control, and thankfully did not experience that with Sprintec. I was on it for three months, and in that time, I gained almost 10 pounds. I went up an entire cup size in that time, and finally got sick of dealing with the weight gain. It didn't really alleviate menstrual cramps either, but did help me with treating acne. Overall, if you don't experience weight gain, it's probably fine for you, but didn't work for me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on the Sprintec pill for 3 years now. I was suffering from horrible cystic acne and tiny whitehead-like bumps all around my chin. My doctor prescribed me Sprintec for my acne spots. I remember in the beginning I was a mess. I broke out even more and had the craziest mood swings mixed with depression. I stuck through it, though, and eventually my acne and mood swings subsided... however, one week before my period I have an occasional breakout and mood swings. But once my period starts, I feel “normal” again. My periods have become a lot shorter also. It took a while, but Sprintec works for me."

For Birth Control "I was taking Sprintec for 3 months. I started it after I had a miscarriage, and one thing for certain, it did do its job. I never got pregnant, even when I was taking antibiotics for a UTI and also for an STI just in case my screening came back positive (it didn’t). I was always tired though. Literally, I would be tired like pregnant tired. Falling asleep at work, going to bed early. I also had terrible mood swings, like I would cuss out my boyfriend for no reason. My period was on the dot, though. When I was on my 3rd pack, I started having really high blood pressure (BP) for no reason. Figured it was the pill, and I stopped taking it, and I don’t have high BP anymore, and all my symptoms went away. Good for acne until you get towards your period. I wouldn’t say don’t get Sprintec, but the high blood pressure could be an issue."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec at the beginning of the 2020-21 school year, and in the summer, I was super awake and happy and always energetic. Now, I am very, very emotional and am tired all the time. I cry almost daily, and almost anything can set me off to just cry. My anxiety has gotten much worse, but the cramps are much better."

For Birth Control "I started taking Sprintec because I had really long periods (like I was bleeding for four months at one point), and doctors could not find a reason for it, so I took this pill and my period was regulated. I did not have many side effects while using, but I recently stopped taking this pill (around April this year), and the side effects have been awful. I haven't had a period in two months (I'm not really complaining about this lol), mood swings galore! Sometimes I don't have an appetite, and other times I want and can eat all day. My sex drive has been crazy high. I get really bad headaches and super irritable. So yes, I liked it because it did help my problem, but at the same time, these coming-off effects are a little too much for me."

For Ovarian Cysts "My experience with Sprintec was a nightmare. I’ve taken Orthocyclen for over 10 years with no issues. When my pharmacy discontinued it, they offered Sprintec, and in about a month's time, I experienced the following symptoms: depression/anxiety, dizziness/nausea, exhaustion/fatigue, chronic headaches, thinning hair at the top of the scalp, mood swings, weight gain (about 5-7 pounds). It did keep my skin clear... If you notice any side effects, please discontinue. I thought I was going crazy... I spent several hundred dollars on doctors' visits, hair appointments, and the sadness was unprecedented. Please do not take."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended I take Sprintec to regulate my estrogen levels and to regulate my period. I began taking it around 5 years ago. During my time with the pill, I had a regular period, which is what was the aim of my doctors, but I was never informed of any side effects. During the time I took this pill, I began to have increasingly severe symptoms, which I did not realize were from the pill. I gained weight easily, lost a lot of body hair, and the most notable side effect was the intense mood swings. I have a history of depression, and if you do as well, I highly suggest avoiding this medication. It made my depression so severe I was having breakdowns every night, and my downs were so intense I considered committing myself. I stopped taking it 2 months ago, and this month I have noticed a dramatic increase in my emotional stability. No other life events have changed. I was never informed this could be a side effect of the birth control, and I really wish I would have stopped sooner."

For Birth Control "This pill has done nothing for me, it has only dragged out my periods. I got on this to shorten them, and it has definitely not done that. It has made me way more emotional, and every little thing gets on my nerves. I am switching."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Sprintec for the last 3 months, and it made my mental health go down so bad. I’m such a toxic person now. I hate it so much. It makes me hungry all the time, and if I don’t eat, my stomach hurts really bad. It makes me sleep a lot. I have negative thoughts very often. It just makes me very depressed, and I don’t know why. And I'm always tired and sleeping, and I have no motivation at all. All I want to do now is stay in bed, and I have no motivation to have a social life. Me as a person changed so much, I have so many mood swings now."

For Birth Control "The worst symptoms were: I began to feel delusional and crazy to the point where I thought about going to the hospital because of the severe mood swings and loss of reality. I was depressed constantly after I started taking this pill. I was crying uncontrollably nonstop. My family was extremely concerned because I am normally a very happy, positive, and ambitious person. Again, I do NOT recommend this birth control. STAY AWAY."

For Birth Control "Sprintec birth control pill may be like other birth control pills, I haven't tried any other ones yet, but this one is making me absolutely insane! I have the worst mood swings, anxiety, and depression! It cleared up my acne, but my sex drive went down to almost nothing. Extreme vaginal dryness and weight gain. My boobs did grow a whole cup size, but they have hurt every single day for the last three packs. I am going to try Portia next after this pack is done. I can't take it anymore!"

For Birth Control "I mean, I didn’t get pregnant thanks to this, but I had been debating getting off hormonal BC, and this made the decision VERY easy! I gained 10 pounds in a month (while exercising regularly and on a diet that I follow strictly), was insanely depressed and had awful mood swings, HORRIBLE nonstop acne breakouts for the whole month like I was a middle schooler again, and absolutely zero sex drive. For the love of god, STAY AWAY from Sprintec!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I have been on Sprintec a year and randomly it causes me to bleed for over a month straight. Which is expensive when it comes to liners or ruining my panties. Since being on it, I have gained weight while I watch my calories and work out a lot. As well, it causes breast pain. It made them bigger to the point I may need a reduction. Don’t forget to mention the emotions. I work hard to control it, but I just want to cry all the time."

For Birth Control "I'd say overall it's been good. My skin is super clear, and I didn't gain any weight. However, after being on it for now 7 months, I've started to have more depressive episodes and sometimes pretty poor self-image. I've also had a good amount of severe mood swings. With all that said, my periods are really light and non-painful, which in my opinion is an okay trade-off due to my periods beforehand being super painful. It does its job well for me, I just have to jump through the hoop of mild depression."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I never wanted to be on birth control, but I was bleeding for over a month, so my doctor put me on it to stop it, it did within 2 days, which was great. When I first started taking this birth control, I felt great and had normal periods, didn't get pregnant, but I am on my fourth month, and I threw it away. Starting in the third month of taking it, I started to feel crazy, I have been having such high anxiety and mood swings, I have absolutely no sex drive. The anxiety gets so bad and then turns into panic attacks. I didn't gain weight, but the hunger at first was so bad, and no matter how much you eat, the hunger doesn't end. I am on day 2 of not taking it, and I hope I start to get back to my normal self soon."

For Ovarian Cysts "I initially had Mononessa prescribed for PCOS but switched after 3 months to Sprintec. Of course, I experienced the usual side effects with both, i.e., nausea, mood swings, hot flashes, breast tenderness, and headaches, but only for the first week or two. However, with Sprintec, I am now experiencing depression, my skin on my face and chest area above my breast is not as smooth as it used to be, and worst of all, a yeast infection, which I have never suffered from before (awful itching, but Monistat 7 is helping a lot). I'm still quite new to Sprintec and hope all this goes away."

For Birth Control "I have used this for three years. It regulated my periods and made them shorter and lighter. One thing I have noticed is I have NO sex drive. NONE. I still have sex and enjoy it once the process is started, but I never feel 'hot and bothered' anymore. The va va voom is gone. My mood swings are higher and lower than ever, and I think it is the pill. I have been growing concerned with my mental health lately, but it may not be me going crazy--it could be this pill. I have read other reviews that say the same thing. I am scared to stop, I do not want a pregnancy, but I want my body to be MINE again."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for a month now. The first week was fine, but starting the second week, I got my period, and it still has not gone away. I have been on my period now for 20 days, it is miserable. Alongside this, I have been bloated, cramping, my skin has broken out, and my moods have been horrible. This pill was not the right choice for me, it has poorly affected my quality of life. I recommend sharing a concern like this with your doctor, as I never expected to have such a problem."

For Birth Control "Was on this birth control for two months. I gained weight, about 6 lb. I had hoped for my acne to clear up, which didn’t. Only got worse. The main reason I stopped taking it was due to the mood swings. I was constantly tired, couldn’t focus, and just didn’t feel like myself whatsoever. I couldn’t take another month of it. My anxiety was beyond, and I found myself sobbing for no reason."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been using Sprintec for about 8 months, and I have very mixed reviews. My period only lasts three to four days, so that’s a plus. Also, my skin cleared up. The cons are the horrible mood swings and extreme depression I’ve experienced while on the pill. I’ve also gained a lot of weight since taking it. So yes, it prevents pregnancy, but the mood swings and weight gain aren’t really worth it..."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on a 3-month trial period for this brand and absolutely HATED it. I couldn't wait to be done with it. The only thing I can say positively is it did regulate my periods, and they were lighter. From week one of my first pack, I noticed severe cystic acne. I'll have an occasional flare-up on my chin here and there, normally. But I started getting them EVERYWHERE on my face, and they never ceased as the months went on. Also, I had severe mood swings and depression, and it was putting a strain on my relationship with my fiancé."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have been taking birth control for about 5 years now. I used to get the shot every month, but I started gaining a lot of weight after about 1 1/2 years of the shot. I stopped. And then about a year later, I got put on the pill, but I was being very sick on my period and vomiting and not being able to get out of bed due to a cyst that has been on my right ovary since I was 14 years old, and I am 21 now. Now I take Sprintec, and I am so very pleased with this medication. It has helped my period from being at a point where I wouldn't be able to do anything on it to now it is bearable. I do have mood swings on this, like when it is close to my period, and when I am not taking the hormone pills, I cry and feel sad and alone, but this is good for cysts and periods and pregnancy. I would recommend this!"

For Birth Control "I switched from a generic form of Yaz to this pill last month after being on Yaz for about two years. This morning, I started my period, so it definitely works as advertised. For me, this pill is a lot better than the one I was on before. I have a lot fewer mood swings (they're still there, but not nearly as many), less acne, and my boobs have gone up almost another cup. My only dislikes are how gassy this pill makes me and how much hungrier I am, however, I'll take those things over nausea and occasional actual illness. I have put on a little bit of weight, but it wasn't much, and now that I'm aware of how hungry this pill makes me, I'm keeping healthier snacks on hand. I'm a fan of this pill, but it's also interacting fairly mildly with me."
