For Birth Control "I had no problems the first 3 months I was on this pill. Now, the last 5 months, I have been eating like crazy more than ever, losing eyesight after getting a brand new prescription from my eye doctor. Migraines like crazy. Loss of interest in sex, vaginal irritation, swelling, and bleeding from it being so dried out. I cannot pee without crying anymore, it is so painful. Today, I started bleeding brown blood after taking myself off the pill a week ago. Would NOT recommend to anyone."

For Ovarian Cysts "The first month of the pills went by fast, but had long-lasting side effects, such as very hot flashes, a lot of them, weight gain, and migraines that would last for days. Now I'm almost done with my second month's pack. My breasts have increased in size, I'm extremely irritable, and snap for no reason at all. I also cry a lot. My period started on day 1 of the 2nd pack. I am currently at the end of the pack (with 4 pills to spare), and my period is still here. It's been almost a month, I'm bleeding extremely heavy, too much blood loss, tired, and dizzy."

For Birth Control "I have been taking it to prevent pregnancy since I had my baby, and so far it's been really good. Hardly any side effects at all. Only thing I don't like is I'm a little more moody and get headaches sometimes, but for having a period every other month now, I'm right on time every month. I recommend it."

For Birth Control "Love this pill! Great hormone balancer and contraceptive. Pros: cystic acne gone, moods regulated, no more monthly migraines, few to no cramps, on my period for only 5 days each month, did not decrease my sex drive. Cons: weight gain (25 lbs in 3 months that won't come off 3 years later), bigger breasts (D cup to DDD). Other pills made me spot all month and have mood swings. This one does not. Free through my insurance too!"

For Birth Control "Took three months. Bled a whole month straight during, like a medium-flow period. No signs of pregnancy or miscarriage hormones, doctors say. No growths to explain bleeding or abnormalities in my blood test results. I experienced little nausea, headaches, and no swelling."

For Birth Control "I just switched from a different birth control brand that I was on for 2 months and switched to Mononessa. The first 3 weeks of being on Mononessa, I had a lot of irregular bleeding. Now I'm taking my inactive pill, and I am not bleeding at all. I am very frustrated. Since it is my first month, I am going to give this new pill 1 more month, and if I still have irregular bleeding, then I am switching. However, on a positive note, it has cleared up my acne, and I am loving that."

For Birth Control "I was on Zarah for 5 years and recently began ovulating on the pill, so my doctor wanted me to go on something with a bit more estrogen and recommended Mononessa. I was pretty nervous with all the mixed reviews I read before taking it, especially because I experienced no side effects with Zarah. In all honesty, the first 4 days were not pleasant. I had what felt like non-stop migraines, my anxiety was on a different level (I kept thinking I was suffering from DVT and was having mini panic attacks). I had weird palpitations when working out, and I had a lot of trouble staying asleep. All of a sudden on day 5, I felt normal again. I guess my body just needed to adjust, and hopefully symptoms don't come back!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This was my first time trying birth control, and this one made me feel horrible. Nausea every day and made worse whenever I drive. Cold sweats, and it's around 10 degrees out, so I start shivering, which leads to more sweating. Oh, the mood swings! I feel miserable."

For Endometriosis "I have been on Mononessa for about 18 months. I have put on 20 pounds. I have tried to lose the weight while on the meds, but I lost 10 pounds and plateaued. I am so done. I just turned 40 and have decided to go with a no-hormone permanent solution!"

For Birth Control "Mononessa has prevented me from getting pregnant (even when I missed a pill), but not without side effects. I have been taking it for 2 years and have gained 15 pounds and constantly look bloated. I have vaginal discharge from it and experience vaginal dryness constantly. I don't have cravings from it, but sometimes I have depressive mood swings. On the upside, my period went from being so painful I couldn't function to pretty light and barely any cramps."

For Birth Control "I have been on Mononessa for two years. I started on it while young and then switched to Implanon, which I absolutely hated, but after being back on the pill, I feel so relieved! I rarely have skin breakouts, my cramps used to be awful, but now I hardly have them, if any at all. Only downside is dryness, but nothing lube can't fix!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I had two large ovarian cysts that were extremely painful and put me in the ER. My Dr. prescribed me Mononessa, and I just finished my first pack. I had an ultrasound today, and one cyst was completely gone, and the other is much smaller. After only 3 weeks on this pill, I haven't experienced the pain from my cysts anymore. The only thing is that for the first week on the pill, I was extremely nauseous. It also seems that as of right now, my acne is almost completely gone."

For Birth Control "I have been using Mononessa for about 2-3 years now, never any problems aside from nausea, and I fixed that by only taking the pill before going to bed. Even taking this at different times of the night, I never had problems with spotting or anything at all. I just got switched to Estarylla because Walgreens doesn't have Mononessa for me anymore. I'm nervous about switching. Every time I have switched pills, something bad happens, so I always revert back to Mononessa. I guess we will see how this switch goes."

For Birth Control "I've been on Mononessa for about 5 years now. I started the pill because of irregular periods and extra protection against pregnancy. The first two to three months, my body was adjusting to the change, which caused nausea and mood swings, but afterwards, I was back to normal. My appetite has gone up, my sex drive has gone down just a bit, but not to the point where I was worried about it. I have clear skin, and my periods are shorter and lighter. By far, the best pill I have been."

For Ovarian Cysts "I started Mononessa after having been on at least 5 other birth control pills. I've now been using Mononessa for almost 5 years. Having been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, my OB-GYN put me on birth control to help the symptoms. Mononessa has eliminated most of my symptoms. While I still struggle with weight gain, this pill hasn't made me gain weight or made it harder to lose weight. (Anyone with PCOS knows that losing weight is the actual struggle). Overall, I really like this pill, and it has been a lifesaver!"

For Birth Control "This birth control works and does its job, it's just the mood swings that have been terrible for me. I cry all the time over nothing, and I go from being happy to angry to depressed. I feel it putting a strain on my relationship, and I am considering going off it. On the plus side, however, my period cramps are now nonexistent. I haven't experienced any weight gain or cravings (I've always eaten a lot, though, so it's hard to tell!). My acne actually got better, but only slightly, and that could be due to other factors. I just feel like the mood swings outweigh the benefits, and I just want to feel better."

For Birth Control "This birth control has been okay for me. I am switching to an IUD next month after being on Mononessa for 1 1/2 years. Pros: decreased acne, regular period, decreased cramps during the period, lighter/slightly shorter period, no weight gain, no pregnancy. Cons: CRAZY mood swings, decreased sex drive, dryness, other medications lower the effectiveness, bad migraines during my period. The migraines during my period were terrible the first 3-4 months, I assume because my body was reacting to the decrease in hormones. The main reason I am switching is the mood swings because Mirena does not have estrogen. I used to be laid back and happy, but my mood has become crazy and very unpredictable. Overall, a good birth control, just not the right one for me."

For Birth Control "Started taking this pill 14 months ago. First 2 months, I had nausea for a while. Now, I experience mild discomfort the first 2 days or so of taking a new pill pack. Haven't gained weight. Cleared up my acne. Got rid of my bad cramps. Period is heavier, but regular in length."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am a 27 overweight female who has NEVER had a normal period. My period sometimes lasts several weeks. I was prescribed this medication today, a Friday, I took the Friday pill, and within hours, my bleeding completely stopped. There is nausea associated, so I recommend taking it every night so you can sleep through it."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for almost a year. It started out great, and my periods were regular and light. My breasts also got bigger, which was an advantage. Right away, I noticed the biggest change in my lifestyle: my sex drive plummeted, and I became extremely emotional. I went from having sex with my boyfriend every day to maybe once a week, and it's so difficult for me to get turned on. I'll watch a commercial with a dog in it and cry or sob uncontrollably when my boyfriend does something nice for me. It's ridiculous. I also gained a lot of weight since starting Mononessa and always feel tired and foggy. It has been effective in preventing pregnancy, but it's not the right birth control for me."

For Birth Control "I have been on this medication for 9 years straight. I was prescribed it when I was 18 and had been having awful cramps and nausea during my period, as well as it being irregular. Since I started this birth control, I have only had minimal cramping and have never been sick from my period again. I did not feel any different when I started it, and I have never experienced a negative side effect. I have nothing bad to say about this medication; all I have gotten from it is regulated, shorter, and lighter periods, pregnancy prevention, and bigger boobs. All great things, in my opinion."

For Birth Control "I hate it so far. I'm not one to break out, and suddenly I have acne. These random pimples are on my back too! So depressing. My anxiety spiked, dizziness, and I feel at times I'm going to faint. Seeking new birth control ASAP."

For Birth Control "I have started this about a week ago, and so far it's not been too bad! I did experience nausea if taken on an empty stomach. At the same time, I would experience headaches and dizziness. I have not noticed wanting to eat more than usual, I have noticed not having much of an appetite anymore. Which is a bit odd because I'm always down for food. I would DEFINITELY recommend to make your daily time to take the pill at night around dinner time. It's a little more convenient, so you're not going to work or school having to deal with any side effects."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I started taking Mononessa around 3 months ago for irregular periods and for birth control. For the first 2 weeks, I had stomach aches and changes in appetite. One day I would want to eat everything in sight, and the next day, the thought of food made me ill. I gained maybe 1-2 pounds, but after a few more weeks, it went back down to normal. My periods are so regular, I know EXACTLY when they'll start and stop. I've had sex without condoms and haven't gotten pregnant. It's very easy to remember, just set an alarm and keep track."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 6 years now (I am 19). It has definitely decreased my cramps and pain as that was the original reason I was put on birth control. I work out often, so I don't have to stop running anymore from pain. Now that I've become sexually active, my periods are always on time, so I never worry. My mood is crazy, but at the same time, I have anxiety problems, which I take a low dose of medication for, and I went through middle school-currently college-on this stuff, so I think overall it's not the medication, it's me haha. I have always been very slender. I notice I always bloat and have a little belly that never seems to go away, but it's not a big deal. It can make you nauseous...but the trick is to eat a lot with it."
