For Birth Control "Been taking this birth control for 8 months now since giving birth. Pros are light periods that last 3-4 days, 5 tops, and they always come on time. No pregnancy, so that's good. Cons... (Well, my only MAJOR con) is WEIGHT GAIN!!!! I am constantly gaining weight every month, and it's scary. Every time I step on the scale, I've gained another 2-3 lbs. I don't even eat a lot & have never gained weight this rapidly in my life. So far I've gained 13 lbs since starting this pill... It's depressing, and I cry about it. Also, it is almost impossible to lose the weight other than practically starving yourself. The contraceptive side of Mononessa is good, but the weight gain is NO GO!!!"

For Birth Control "Within a few days of taking the pill, my acne cleared up. On the other hand, I have gained 4 pounds out of nowhere. Feel bloated, nauseated. It's a shame that side effects are so undesirable since it does work for my acne."

For Birth Control "I began taking this medicine for birth control. It was effective for that purpose, but I kept having repeat yeast infections and bacterial vaginitis. I will most definitely stop this medicine when I'm done with this pack of pills. Everyone's body is different, though."

For Birth Control "After having trouble with the first birth control I tried, I switched to Mononessa and have been on it for 3 years! I love it, and it's been a really easy birth control to take, so much so that one pharmacy didn't have it, so I switched pharmacies. I can't remember any adverse side effects, and I will continue to take this birth control."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before Mononessa, I tried four different birth controls (can't remember the names), but all of them gave me bleeding constantly, it was horrible. Finally, I tried Mononessa. It's helped so much, my periods are much lighter, no more acne, and I didn't experience any weight gain like the other reviews I have read. Also, it is a lot cheaper. This pill is the one I've been needing."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control, and I was on it for about a year. I took it to help lighten and regulate my ridiculously heavy period, and it did just that. However, it gave me terrible mood swings, spotting, and the final straw was my once thick hair became extremely thin. Though it did its original purpose, the side effects were just too much."

For Birth Control "Been on this birth control over a year now, and I gained so much weight. Thinking about changing it up. The periods are normal. It's always 4-5 days regular. I thought I was the only one gaining weight from this birth control."

For Birth Control "My experience wasn't that bad! When I first started taking the pill, I was very hormonal and nauseous, but once a month or so kicked in, everything was fine. My periods only lasted five days and were always consistent. I did make my acne fade, and I didn't gain any weight, the only sort of bad thing is that my bra size increased by a cup. I've been on it for a year now, and so far so good!"

For Birth Control "I took this pill for about 2 and a half years. It worked great, only had a few pregnancy scares from forgetting to take the pills on time. I usually always remembered, but it was sometimes a hassle to remember every day. I had good and bad side effects. It got rid of all of my acne and made my periods regular. I did gain about 25 pounds and had a much lower sex drive, though. I did spot occasionally, but not too often. If I decided to take the pill through my period rather than stopping, sex would start to hurt deep in my uterus eventually. That happened many times. I decided to get off that birth control a few months ago, and I could tell that I had a complete change in my body. I lost weight and felt happier. My sex drive went up incredibly."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill when I was 21 years old. Because of recent times, I switched to the Mirena IUD, and it didn't work for me for various reasons. I switched back to this pill in January 2017 and love it. I like this pill because while you absolutely SHOULD take it at the same time every day, as long as you take it within a few hours of the same time each day--you should be fine. I've never had a pregnancy scare on this pill, so that's a major benefit. No crazy mood swings or bad side effects. This time around I will say this: my period is way lighter. Used to last 7 days, now only lasts 5. One and only bummer was the first month or two my appetite was weird - this symptom went away after 2 months though! Highly recommend this BC."

For Birth Control "I was on this medication a few years ago, and it worked great. I decided to go back on birth control about a month ago. I have been taking it for 23 days. No problems until this week. I am very irritable and extremely nauseated. I don't think this medication is right for me."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking it, my breasts were very sore. Other than that, it's kept my periods much lighter and manageable, and I haven't gotten pregnant using this as my only form of birth control. I've known people who haven't had good results from it, but I'm pretty sure it's one of the cheapest birth control pills out there and would definitely try it before switching to something else. I have no insurance, and using my pharmacy's discount program, I pay $7.50 for it."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before this, I had been using the Depo shot and then Yaz for a year and had constant bleeding and spotting on both. Once I started taking Mononessa, my bleeding stopped in two days. It's been two weeks since starting the pack, and all is still good. I have noticed a tiny increase in pimples, and my breasts have become slightly bigger and tender, but not painful. I have high hopes for this pill."

For Birth Control "All in all, Mononessa has worked very well. I've been taking it for about a month, I'm just getting into the green-colored tablets. I woke up at 4 am the second day throwing up, but ever since then, I haven't been nauseated. I have pretty bad acne, it hasn't really helped. I was hoping it would. But I haven't been overly emotional (no more than usual, that is), and it seems like my period is going to start right on time. It's great. I tried Yaz before this one, and I spotted for a whole month. Was not going for that. But anyways, yeah, Mononessa's great! Glad I'm taking it now."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have had the worst periods ever since I started at 13. Extremely heavy, full of huge clots, very long, and very painful. I am now 21 and finally found something that helps so far. Just finishing up my first month of it, and my period was only a week long (mine usually lasts 3 months). I'm still having a lot of pain, which used to signal to me that a clot was coming down, but I haven't had any clots. The only side effect I'm having is the moodiness. So happy with this medication so far!"

For Birth Control "Aside from the horrible nausea I have gotten, this pill is very effective, and the time window is 2 hours, but I have taken it 5 hours later a few times and had no problem. I also have unprotected sex regularly. It cleared my acne after my first month's dose."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 3 months now, and I LOVE IT! At first, my moods were wacky, and my boobs hurt really bad, but I'm finally adjusted, and it's amazing. No accidental pregnancy, and LIGHTER PERIODS!! This pill is a winner in my book."

For Birth Control "While I haven't been on it long, I can say I have been worlds different. I originally was on Sprintec for a good 10 years. Got a new job where I just got my RXs filled there (insurance requirement) and was given Estrace as a substitute. Can we say all hell broke loose on it? Moody (which I'm not at all), gained 15 lbs, always bloated, foods I should want and love made me sick, no sex drive, horrible periods, lethargic, etc., etc. Well, then the pharmacy got Mononessa in. No joke, within a week the bloating subsided, I dropped 5 lbs, my mood was way better, and my drive is back. Honestly, I feel better on it than even Sprintec. Watch your inactive ingredients, those are what cause the side effects more than the hormones."

"The only reason I am prescribed them is to stop my period for several months (I skip the inactive pills and start a new pack). The first month was okay, but into week 3 of my second month, I started having heavy 'spotting,' enough to need a tampon. Two weeks later, I called my Dr. to inform them that I had been bleeding for two weeks straight and ask what was going on. They insist that my body is just getting used to the hormones and to keep taking them. It has now been over a month, I'm almost done with my third pack, and the bleeding/spotting every day is STILL an issue. On the rare moments when it's light enough for sex, forget about it. I have no desire and dry as the desert. I'm also extremely tired and have had random breakouts."

For Ovarian Cysts "I've been on Mononessa for approximately 17 months to treat PCOS and prevent pregnancy. PROS 1) Consistent periods 2) Little to no cramping 3) No spotting 4) No increase in acne CONS 1) Digestive problems. This has been the most troubling issue. Mononessa aggravated my constipation, and no amount of exercise or dietary restrictions can alleviate this issue. See below. 2) Weight gain. I lost about 8 - 10 lbs after the first 4 months of taking the pill, but I've been steadily gaining weight since then. In fact, I've surpassed the weight I was prior to starting Mononessa (> 10 lbs) despite a healthy diet and exercise. 3) Hair loss (from the scalp). I had to get another cover for my shower drain because it was so bad."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for years and years and love it, mostly because of how it evens out my moods. My doctor is saying at my age it may be time to wean off of birth control, but I will put it off as long as I can. I have a family history of clinical depression and mood swings and feel so safe on this medication. Having said that, Walgreens just told me they wanted me to switch to another medication. NOOOOOO!!!!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm currently on this pill, and it is making me lightheaded, extremely nauseous, fatigued, shaky, sensitive to light and sound, and having trouble breathing, can't eat or drink anything without being completely sick, heart pounding, and diarrhea. Not fun at all."

For Birth Control "I was nervous to get on this pill because of the reviews, but I started anyway. I've been on this pill for almost three months, and I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who has not experienced the bad side effects. This pill actually made my sex drive increase, and it does its job well. The only con is that I do break out a lot when it's time to take the seven inactive pills, but once I start the active pills, my acne clears, and it's also cleared all my back acne! No mood swings, no vomiting, no nausea, no weight gain (I do work out most days of the week), no fatigue, no cravings. Like I said, I'm one of the lucky ones. Best birth control I've been on."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "1.5 months in, I started spotting. I am taking this BC continuously, according to my doctor's instructions, and skipping the placebo pills to not have a period. I've been spotting for a month now. I've tried many birth control pills and have never had this happen. There had been times where I had accidentally missed a day or two and started spotting on my old birth control, but after a couple of days catching up on my pills, my body would regulate itself back out and the spotting would stop. This spotting isn't stopping and I haven't missed any pills. As said before, I've taken many different kinds of BC pills and had never had this problem."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "First month went well. Second month I started bleeding, spotting really the second week of active pills. I have now been bleeding for the last month, and I'm tired. I've had all the symptoms of a period: bloated, headache, tired, back pain, restless at night. I didn't have any of these problems when I was not on birth control. I really hate how this pill has made me feel, as well as the all-month bleeding."
