For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been told I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, my period was never normal. If I go a year without bleeding, then all of a sudden I started bleeding for 5 months straight. Being overweight, my doctor told me I would have to take two Depo-Provera shots, so I did. I continued to bleed heavy and hard and very painfully, so I decided to find another doctor, and he prescribed me Mononessa. I stopped bleeding in one week, and when it was time to take the last 7 pills, I was nervous to take them because I didn't want to bleed, but my period came and it was so light, no cramps, just a little moody. So glad I finally found something that truly works for me."

For Birth Control "After years of having awful period cramps to the point of the first 3 days of it starting, I always had to call out of work because I could not do a thing but lay down. Heavy, very heavy bleeding. I have only been on this pill for a month, and my first period was actually wonderful. Very light bleeding and almost hard to tell cramps. I even lost 8 pounds without even trying. My face has also cleared up. I have tried all sorts of different birth control, with nothing working closely as well as this. I hope it continues to work this great."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm 38 years old, and I've never taken birth control before, but I started having three weeks of bleeding in a month with all the crazy hormone freak-outs that come with a period for the same amount of time, and I finally gave in to my gyn/ob's suggestion to try birth control. I feel totally normal again, except my sex drive has gone through the roof, which I honestly have no problem with at all. Consider it a positive. And I'm not craving as many sweets. Again, a positive. On the whole, I'm very pleased."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "First month went well. Second month I started bleeding, spotting really the second week of active pills. I have now been bleeding for the last month, and I'm tired. I've had all the symptoms of a period: bloated, headache, tired, back pain, restless at night. I didn't have any of these problems when I was not on birth control. I really hate how this pill has made me feel, as well as the all-month bleeding."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before Mononessa, I tried four different birth controls (can't remember the names), but all of them gave me bleeding constantly, it was horrible. Finally, I tried Mononessa. It's helped so much, my periods are much lighter, no more acne, and I didn't experience any weight gain like the other reviews I have read. Also, it is a lot cheaper. This pill is the one I've been needing."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before this, I had been using the Depo shot and then Yaz for a year and had constant bleeding and spotting on both. Once I started taking Mononessa, my bleeding stopped in two days. It's been two weeks since starting the pack, and all is still good. I have noticed a tiny increase in pimples, and my breasts have become slightly bigger and tender, but not painful. I have high hopes for this pill."

"The only reason I am prescribed them is to stop my period for several months (I skip the inactive pills and start a new pack). The first month was okay, but into week 3 of my second month, I started having heavy 'spotting,' enough to need a tampon. Two weeks later, I called my Dr. to inform them that I had been bleeding for two weeks straight and ask what was going on. They insist that my body is just getting used to the hormones and to keep taking them. It has now been over a month, I'm almost done with my third pack, and the bleeding/spotting every day is STILL an issue. On the rare moments when it's light enough for sex, forget about it. I have no desire and dry as the desert. I'm also extremely tired and have had random breakouts."

For Birth Control "I had no problems the first 3 months I was on this pill. Now, the last 5 months, I have been eating like crazy more than ever, losing eyesight after getting a brand new prescription from my eye doctor. Migraines like crazy. Loss of interest in sex, vaginal irritation, swelling, and bleeding from it being so dried out. I cannot pee without crying anymore, it is so painful. Today, I started bleeding brown blood after taking myself off the pill a week ago. Would NOT recommend to anyone."

For Ovarian Cysts "The first month of the pills went by fast, but had long-lasting side effects, such as very hot flashes, a lot of them, weight gain, and migraines that would last for days. Now I'm almost done with my second month's pack. My breasts have increased in size, I'm extremely irritable, and snap for no reason at all. I also cry a lot. My period started on day 1 of the 2nd pack. I am currently at the end of the pack (with 4 pills to spare), and my period is still here. It's been almost a month, I'm bleeding extremely heavy, too much blood loss, tired, and dizzy."

For Birth Control "I just switched from a different birth control brand that I was on for 2 months and switched to Mononessa. The first 3 weeks of being on Mononessa, I had a lot of irregular bleeding. Now I'm taking my inactive pill, and I am not bleeding at all. I am very frustrated. Since it is my first month, I am going to give this new pill 1 more month, and if I still have irregular bleeding, then I am switching. However, on a positive note, it has cleared up my acne, and I am loving that."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been taking these pills for abnormal cycles. I've had an ultrasound and a biopsy, and doctors couldn't find anything. I have to take 3 pills a day just to slow up bleeding. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, did they finally get some relief?"

For Birth Control "I was originally on Lo Loestrin Fe, which made me bleed like crazy, and once I started this pill, it stopped it. PROS: No weird bleeding, normal period. CONS: I feel like I am going crazy. I am an emotional wreck, and I am normally a very calm person. I feel like crying every minute, and not to mention that, but my sex drive is completely gone. Birth control just isn't for me, I am going to stick to condoms."

For Birth Control "Mononessa has been great so far. I started with Minastrin and then I switched to Sprintec. I was experiencing serious weight gain from Sprintec and finally made the switch to Mononessa. I have experienced breakthrough bleeding, but only due to my own irresponsibility. I am rating this 10/10 because my experience without the condom has not resulted in pregnancy. I am starting to have some concerns, though. Sometimes I get these very weird headaches, it's almost as if I'm dehydrated. I'll drink tons of water, but that doesn't seem to help. And this month I have become very irritable and upset over just about anything. My moods are out of control, and I just feel so hopeless sometimes."

For Birth Control "Started this birth control in April 2015. Stopped after a miscarriage in June 2015. Started back up in October 2015. I took it up until last month (January 2016) due to a three-week-long period. Doctor recommended me to stop taking it, and I continued bleeding. Going on four weeks. I'm never in the mood to have sex, which totally sucks. This pill has its ups and downs, but overall I would say I was satisfied to not be pregnant again, lol, but the period it's causing is completely costly and so inconvenient."

For Birth Control "After trying five other birth controls, including Trinessa, I moved to Mononessa in order to skip my periods. I didn’t gain weight, I didn’t have skin/acne changes, I didn’t have sex drive changes, and I do not feel like I’m crazy like when I was on Trinessa. After five years of Mononessa, my body began to breakthrough bleed when trying to skip periods. I tried Seasonique, which is made to only have four periods a year, and my skin went nuts!!!! Super oily skin and whatnot. Just went back to Mononessa... will never switch to anything else and would recommend it to anyone!"

For Birth Control "So far, so good! I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe. I was liking the Lo-Fe the first 3 months, 3-day periods was amazing. Then, months 4-6, I had spotting, breakthrough bleeding, and cramps, sometimes crazy discharge, sometimes I was super dry, terrible mood swings, etc. Anyways, I switched to this because it contained more estrogen, and ever since January, I've felt loads better. I don't see any difference in weight, appetite, or sleep. I have seen an improvement in my mood and concentration/focus since switching to this pill, I feel balanced. My period does last 5 days, but my cramps aren't as bad, nor is my period nearly as heavy as when I wasn't on birth control. 9/10 because I still use condoms and haven't really tested it 100%."

For Birth Control "When I started Mononessa a year ago, the first month I had headaches and cramps, but they went away after 1 cycle. Sometimes I get breakthrough bleeding, but for the last 2 cycles, I have not had any breakthrough bleeding. My skin has cleared up with no acne."

For Birth Control "Mononessa was my first contraceptive. The first month was terrible. I was always nauseous, and I would get super hungry but not able to eat due to the nausea. I had my period for around 4-5 days. It was light, with minimum cramps. Month 2, my nausea started to go away and libido went up. Month 3, breasts grew and acne was gone. Never any mood changes, but weight gain of 5-10 pounds. I used it for about a year and went off of it because I stopped taking my pill on time. I switched to 3 different contraceptives until I went back to Mononessa. I used it for about 2 more years. About 10 months ago, I started having breakthrough bleeding for about 2–3 weeks during my cycle, and it just wouldn’t stop. I had a bunch of imaging done for the abnormal bleeding, and all results pointed to everything being okay. I think my body has just changed or something, but I am retiring from this pill because of the bleeding. It was still, nonetheless, an amazing run though while I was on it. PS never got pregnant!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Had been bleeding and clotting heavily for almost 2 months and thought enough was enough. Asked my doctor to prescribe a birth control so I could stop bleeding and the prescribed Mononessa. The first day, I took one. I was still bleeding, but the clotting had slowed down tremendously. The second day, still bleeding, but not as heavy and no clotting. On the third day, I took 2 (as suggested by the doctor's office if the bleeding did not stop), and the bleeding slowed down even more. The fourth day, I took two in the early morning (around 6 am), and by 11 am, the bleeding had stopped. I am ecstatic to say the least. This product worked extremely well for me, and I could not be more pleased!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My doctor prescribed this for me to help with extremely heavy periods due to uterine fibroids. Two and a half months in, and I started bleeding every day, cramping, and passing sizable clots. Despite my fibroids, I never had bleeding in between my periods prior to taking this medication. This was great for two months, but sadly did not work for me. Doc just told me to stop taking it while we figure out other options."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I'm 27, never been on birth control before in my life. I'm due for surgery to remove a polyp on my uterus. I was also told I couldn't have kids per HSG testing. So I'm having laparoscopy surgery as well. I was put on birth control to stop my period or thin my uterine lining. I'm 3 and 1/2 weeks into the active pack, and I'm still bleeding. Help me, please."

For Birth Control "I've been on many different birth controls, and this has to be the worst. I started about 2 months ago, and I've been bleeding ever since. I've been bloated, my appetite has increased, however, I've managed to keep it down, and I've been moody. I hate it!"

For Birth Control "I began taking Mononessa about three months ago. I didn't really experience any negative side effects, a few weird waves of nausea early on, but other than that, I felt really good on this pill. However, I had to switch to a different pill because after about a week or two on Mononessa, I began bleeding every single day. It dipped in and out of heavy bleeding, but was always heavier than typical spotting. And it happened every day for 2.5 months, until I switched. Which is disappointing, because otherwise, I experienced no ill side effects. I'll also mention that I suffered from incredibly bad acne a few years ago, and I was nervous that starting birth control would ruin my skin again. However, I noticed no changes to my skin on this pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before I switched to Mirena, I took Mononessa shortly after my son was born. I loved this birth control up until a year when I realized my periods would never stop. I already had heavy periods regardless, but it would last only a week. I remember passing a week of menstruation, and my period was even heavier and would soak a tampon within an hour. It was terrifying. I consulted my doctor, who told me to stop taking my birth control as it was making my body think it was still menstruating. I stopped taking it, and the next day my bleeding subsided. I switched to the IUD as advised by my doctor, and that's a whole different adventure."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My doctor put me on this medication a month ago in preparation for my surgery, and it has been the worst decision I have ever made! Two weeks into taking Mononessa, I began spotting. I thought, no big deal, the spotting should stop soon. Well, twelve days later, still spotting, so I called my doctor's office and was told that that sometimes happens. Ok. Two days after that conversation, I started having light bleeding with the worst cramping I have ever had! Add to that, I started having lower back pain also. Nothing I took seems to help with the pain. It got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room, I could barely stand up nor lie down! Can't even go to work yet because I'm still cramping severely and need to take narcotics. This med sucks!"
