"I took this pill as a birth control option, and I could not even last three days. Honestly, I know I should have given it more time, but I know my body, and the way I have felt has been extremely miserable. Nausea, headaches, aches, and depression. The sight or smell of food made me so sick. I am not in a relationship but was seeing this guy for three months and was having sex, but not on a frequent basis (we used condoms), so I feel this may be best for girls who are really active. Our bodies are all different, but I have high stress levels as it is being a full-time college student with work. Like I said, we all are different, but I just could not handle the side effects. Hope it works for other girls, but as for me, I am staying away for now!"

"It has worked incredibly well for me, and I rarely ever get pimples. I have never gotten sick, either, and my periods have been manageable. I've been on this for about 5 months now, but one thing is I did gain a ton of weight. It wasn't really a bad thing because I already was incredibly skinny. I started out at 100 lb, and I'm now at 115. But the problem is that all the weight went straight to my stomach. I look incredibly bloated all the time and have to suck in to try and look normal. I have a feeling strenuous workout is necessary to make the pill worth it."

"The pro of this pill is it did regulate my period, but that's the only pro. I was on it for 6 months and stopped. It made me sick all the time, I gained 15 lbs, if not more, and stayed bloated. My mood swings were out of control, and I'm a pretty chill person. It may have worked great for some, but just not for me."

"I have been taking Mononessa for about 6 years now. I have had no undesirable side effects. My periods are always on time, they're not heavy at all, and last generally 4 days, sometimes 5. I have experienced no nausea and no cramps. I have acne, but I had acne as a teenager, and then it went away and came back years later, so I don't think the birth control is the culprit. I pay nothing out of pocket, and the one time my insurance did get cut off, it was $28, which I did not feel was completely unreasonable. And most importantly, I have not gotten pregnant since being on it."

"I have taken and tried many different types of birth control pills, and Mononessa had been the absolute worst experience of my life. 1 mg of Mononessa and three days of taking it made me cramp daily and painfully. I thought it would get better, but my symptoms contributed to getting worse as my period got closer. It got to the point where I could hardly sit upright. A month into it, and on my period, I had to take days off work because the cramping was distracting and unbearable. It lightened my period, but I would rather have a heavy flow than be in that much pain ever again. I recommend Levora for you ladies. Do not go through what I went through. Good luck."

"I am a small girl, 20 years old. I weigh about 115 lbs, and since I started 7 days ago, all I can think about is food. I eat allllll the time, which isn't necessarily a bad thing considering my weight, and I wanted to gain a little, but I swear food is the single thing on my mind, and I don't feel hunger pains at all. Other than that, I haven't noticed any other side effects."

"Since taking Mononessa, the only problem I have had was an increase in appetite and not having a sex drive. PERIOD. Husband is very upset because I'm NEVER in the mood and I NEVER want to be touched sexually (month)..."

"Mononessa has been great so far. I started with Minastrin and then I switched to Sprintec. I was experiencing serious weight gain from Sprintec and finally made the switch to Mononessa. I have experienced breakthrough bleeding, but only due to my own irresponsibility. I am rating this 10/10 because my experience without the condom has not resulted in pregnancy. I am starting to have some concerns, though. Sometimes I get these very weird headaches, it's almost as if I'm dehydrated. I'll drink tons of water, but that doesn't seem to help. And this month I have become very irritable and upset over just about anything. My moods are out of control, and I just feel so hopeless sometimes."

"Mononessa has been the worst birth control I have ever been on. I was on this pill for three days and thought I would die. Severe nausea, nightmares, mood swings, insomnia, headaches, and chest pain. I stopped taking it after the third day. My body really does not like this birth control. I would not recommend this pill at all."

"Been on Mononessa for 3 months now. Starting on the first month, on day 3 of taking the pill, I started having INTENSE migraines and also vomiting a lot every single day for about 2 weeks. I had another girlfriend on this pill for 6 years, and she told me after a while you get used to it, so I figured I'd give it a try. Month 2 of the pack came, and again from day 3 for about 2 weeks, I was so weak I couldn't leave my bed, my migraines got worse, making my vision blurry and intense vomiting. Started month 3 yesterday, and already throwing up, so I'm stopping them now. Only positive I can say is that I had no spotting in between periods, my periods were the exact same: light and fast, no weight gain. Girls, be careful trying this one out."

"I originally took Mononessa to help regulate my period. Started out great the first 4 months. By the 6th month, I was starting to have terrible mood swings, loss of appetite, and constantly fatigued. Symptoms of side effects intensifying but didn't realize it was the birth control pills at the time. Got pregnant and miscarried twice by my 8th month on it. 10 months on it: I couldn't keep any solid foods down, hypertension, high blood pressure, lost the ability to even feel hunger, it conflicted with antibiotics causing muscle spasms, and I was officially bedridden for 6 months. After a year on it, the only symptoms I didn't have were heart attack, stroke, and death. Every side effect just compounded on itself. Took me 2 whole years to completely recover from the birth control and have my body go back to 'normal.' One lasting side effect is I still struggle to tell when I'm hungry, and it's been 6 years. Only positive, it did actually regulate my period while I was taking it, and my periods have been consistent ever since."

"Well, I did not get pregnant. I started this birth control on January 1st of this year and have been on my period ever since. It's now May 4th, and I'm still bleeding heavily. It's not even spotting, it's just a full-on period for five months. I have spoken to my doctor multiple times, and he said that it should stop, but apparently it's not going to do that. On top of this, I have become extremely depressed and stressed out as a result. I just switched to Camrese, and I do not feel depressed anymore, though still stressed, but that could be from the never-ending menstruation. Literally, the only good thing that has come from Mononessa was the avoidance of pregnancy."

"Started this birth control in April 2015. Stopped after a miscarriage in June 2015. Started back up in October 2015. I took it up until last month (January 2016) due to a three-week-long period. Doctor recommended me to stop taking it, and I continued bleeding. Going on four weeks. I'm never in the mood to have sex, which totally sucks. This pill has its ups and downs, but overall I would say I was satisfied to not be pregnant again, lol, but the period it's causing is completely costly and so inconvenient."

"The first month was great. I took it and I had no symptoms. I literally felt nauseous when I took the second pack. I had a fever, my body felt weak, and I constantly threw up. I basically had symptoms of pregnancy, lol. I won't be taking this anymore! I can't deal."

"After trying five other birth controls, including Trinessa, I moved to Mononessa in order to skip my periods. I didn’t gain weight, I didn’t have skin/acne changes, I didn’t have sex drive changes, and I do not feel like I’m crazy like when I was on Trinessa. After five years of Mononessa, my body began to breakthrough bleed when trying to skip periods. I tried Seasonique, which is made to only have four periods a year, and my skin went nuts!!!! Super oily skin and whatnot. Just went back to Mononessa... will never switch to anything else and would recommend it to anyone!"

"I knew there was going to be a little nausea at first, and yes, it was bad. But it cleared up after the first week. The next month, it came back worse and extended into the month past that first week. The third month, my first week I could only lay around and vomit. Pros: my breasts and butt look great, good birth control, regulated period with way less pain. Cons: severe nausea and vomiting, couldn't eat right for months, my normally short periods became long. If you are still dealing with nausea well into the second month, consider changing medications."

"Severe nausea and multiple near-puke experiences. Almost threw up on a kid at my job serving him food, made certain foods sickening to smell or look at. Craved unhealthy foods, which I did not partake in, so no weight gain. Did its job to regulate periods, not sure about the pregnancy prevention since my doctor recommended still using condoms for the first month. I liked this one, it sucks that the doctor switched my birth control pills to something else right when I had stopped getting the overbearing, chronic nausea. If you feel nauseous, wait it out. It will pass. Maybe try an anti-nausea medication with it until the first month is over."

"I really wanted to keep using these, but I am up right now at 6 am because the nausea woke me up from my sleep, and I’ve been vomiting since 5 am. I’ve been on these for a month and a week. I’ve never experienced such bad nausea as with these pills. I’ve been vomiting every single day. Unfortunately, I’m making the decision to discontinue today."

"This was awful! On the fourth month of use, I experienced extreme anxiety and depression. I had to go see a therapist to calm down. It made me not want to get out of bed or do things I love. I just stopped taking this birth control, so hopefully I will feel better again."

"I thought I was pregnant, I was nauseous, throwing up, extremely exhausted, dizzy, and had hot flashes. I am not saying everyone will react this way, I just know I feel horrible. I tried it for the 28 days, tomorrow I am going to get a different kind."

"This pill was fine for the first three months that I was on it, then I started constantly spotting. I only had 3-4 days a month that I was not spotting while on this med. I was switched to Lo Loestrin, and the spotting has stopped."

"So far, so good! I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe. I was liking the Lo-Fe the first 3 months, 3-day periods was amazing. Then, months 4-6, I had spotting, breakthrough bleeding, and cramps, sometimes crazy discharge, sometimes I was super dry, terrible mood swings, etc. Anyways, I switched to this because it contained more estrogen, and ever since January, I've felt loads better. I don't see any difference in weight, appetite, or sleep. I have seen an improvement in my mood and concentration/focus since switching to this pill, I feel balanced. My period does last 5 days, but my cramps aren't as bad, nor is my period nearly as heavy as when I wasn't on birth control. 9/10 because I still use condoms and haven't really tested it 100%."

"I started Mononessa due to extreme period pains about 3 years ago. It works really well for me. I have had no spotting, and my cycle has been relatively normal. When I get to the 7 placebos, it takes about 3 days for my actual period to start. When I start taking the pills again, it stops my period within a day or two but leaves me with heavy discharge. I have had no abnormal issues since starting Mononessa. It works well with Vraylar."

"This was my first birth control. The first few weeks I got horrible nausea, I felt overly emotional and tired. I figured that was normal for my body to be getting used to the drug. Once that was over, I had no complaints. My acne cleared, and I had no other symptoms. But now, I've been on it for almost a year, and suddenly I'm getting those symptoms again. I wake up in the middle of the night with nausea, I feel extremely anxious, I even am having strange, vivid dreams. I will be changing to a different birth control."

"I've been on this pill for almost a year now, and this is the only birth control I have ever been on. My period is erratic and has been 4 days late before. I have insane cravings and went from having regular, light, easy periods to long, painful ones. The second month out of the three-month pack is always the better month, but I am certainly switching. Also, lost about 10 pounds, and nothing I've tried works to gain it back. Every body is different, though! Good luck on your birth control quest!"
