For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "The worst birth control I have ever been on in my entire life! I'm extremely glad I found this site so I can see that other women are experiencing very similar side effects as I am! Due to an MRI I had to get done because of a car accident, my doctor was able to detect a nodule in my liver. I immediately got it checked out. It seems that the birth control caused fatty tissue to develop on my liver. My doctor wants me to get off the pill once I finish with this month's batch. Since I've been on this pill for almost a year, I get non-stop bleeding that looks like a brown dried-up color, and it'll continue for the whole month until I get my period. I get mood swings, nausea, and loss of appetite. If you feel like something is not right, please reach out to your GYN!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is my third week on this pill. I have taken birth control before, and it was all smooth sailing. But with this pill, I feel miserable, I have been bleeding for 5 days (two weeks after my period), and I have been in a horrible mood! Not wanting to talk to anyone or do anything. I would NOT recommend this birth control. I’m stopping immediately."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed the Estarylla pill to control my bleeding on December 9th. I was told to take 3 daily and then 2 for two days. Then 1 until the pack is all gone. I’ve had abnormal bleeding, and my periods are irregular. This was supposed to help. I’ve had nothing but brown and black blood. I’m constantly wearing panty liners. Acne is starting to occur. I thought I was pregnant because my cycle was supposedly late. I’ve bought over 30 pregnancy tests, all gave me false positives. The blood work said I wasn’t. It’s all a big headache. NEVER AGAIN!! Find something else. It’s made me nothing but emotional, more than I’ve ever been. My doctor doesn’t know why I’ve had false positive pregnancy tests. I’m just annoyed."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "My CVS decided to switch my normal brand Tri-Sprintec to Tri-Estarylla. I had been on Tri-Sprintec for years with no issues whatsoever. At first, I thought everything was going fine, but by month 3, it got horrible. My period was heavy and horrible. I was in severe pain, and I had so many heavy clots I thought I had a miscarriage. After this eventually subsided, I had breakthrough bleeding, heavy and light, which has continued and is still going on even now. This has been 3 full weeks or more. It's insane. It has ruined a lot of really good clothes because you wouldn't know when it was going to come, and bam, there it is. It has really put a damper on my sex life! Totally disgusted. So, I'm forcing CVS to order my original pills because I am done!"

For Ovarian Cysts "I’m not sure if I like this pill or not, I’ve been having irregular bleeding for years, and I’m at the point where I want to have children. My doctor prescribed me Estarylla in June. I just started my second month, but I’m still on my period. This period has been awful! My period is heavy, and I’m going through Super+ in maybe 2 hours, and the cramps were horrible. I ended up going to the ER after waking up with severe stabbing-like pains in my pelvic area. I could barely walk or sit or lay down. I also felt the sensation that a clot was going to fall out of me for about 4 days, and it never passed. I got a CT scan at the ER, and they told me I had a mass of blood in my vaginal canal (that was the clot!). I’m still seeing how this pill plays out because I want a regular period, however, this massive bleeding sucks. I can’t say don’t take it because our bodies are different. I have not experienced: - Weight gain - Loss of sex drive - Depression - Anxiety - Acne - Mood swings."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was on Sprintec, but I guess my pharmacy changed the distributor. Anyway, these pills gave me really bad acne, nausea, and random bleeding and pain. I stopped taking them before I could even finish 1 month of the pack. I do not recommend!"

For Birth Control "Side effects: migraines every day, gained 25 pounds in 5 months without any lifestyle change, low libido, anxiety, mood swings, horrible menstrual bleeding, tender boobs, but I had GREAT SKIN???, inability to fall asleep. Stopped taking this pill in June (now December) have lost 20 pounds without lifestyle change, boobs do not hurt, way better periods, mood swings and anxiety are gone, no headaches, libido is back and skin went back to normal (I have acne, but compared to every other horrific side effect, this pill gave me I'll happily take the acne). This pill is truly the worst, and any birth control pill for that matter."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control! I was on Mononessa for a while, and it was fine. My periods started like clockwork. Then Walgreens said it was discontinued and switched me to Estarylla about 6 months ago. The breakthrough bleeding is horrible! I have to wear a pad or tampon every single day for the spotting! I told my doctor, who called in more Mononessa, which the pharmacy switched to Estarylla again! OMG! Can I please get something where I am normal again??!!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Y’all... this pill is the worst experience I have ever had with birth control, and I have tried many pills in my day. Started taking BC at 15 to treat acne, extremely painful and irregular periods. Throughout the years, I’ve switched for one adverse side effect or another trying to find the right pill for me. Fast forward to 22, starting Mononessa. It was terrible, didn’t hate it though. Then out of the blue, I’m switched to Estarylla. Called my doctor due to concern I had from others' reviews. She assured me it’s just the generic version, same exact ingredients. Totally not true for me. I have been bleeding for two straight weeks, rapidly gained weight, and been having breakouts on and off. I’m on my third month and going in to see my doctor on Friday to discuss getting an IUD because clearly the pill is not for me. Stay far away from this pill, ladies! Seriously. Two weeks straight of bleeding."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "At first, this medicine worked, but then I began experiencing severe migraines, and so my doctor modified the pills to best suit me. Which worked out better for about 2 months. Now I've back to having severe cramps, migraines, heavy bleeding, depression, and anxiety. I wouldn't recommend this medication."

For Birth Control "I thought I was losing my mind, but per these reviews, I think my suspicions are founded. I've been on Estarylla for about 6 months as my pharmacy replaced this with the Sprintec I've been taking for about 6 years now. Never any issues with Sprintec, it was by far my favorite BC. This BC is the worst I've ever had. I've had months with breakthrough bleeding (like 3 weeks of bleeding vs. at most 1...), I've put on about 10 lbs, I have no desire to do anything but eat and not work out (not like myself at all) and no libido. I called my OB/GYN, and she immediately suspected the BC. I will be switching back to Sprintec per her 'dispense as written' on my prescription. Ladies, heed the warnings of the others and myself, do not take this pill..."

For Birth Control "I wish I should have looked up the reviews for this before taking it. Like everyone here, Walgreens switches from Mononessa to this pill. Estarylla is the worst BC pill I have taken so far. It gives me the worst breast pain, cramps, and acne breakouts, and 2 weeks of bleeding. I’m on my second month now. I didn’t stop the first month because I wanted to give it a try. Second month, my breast pain is getting worse. I haven’t gotten my period yet. Yet weirdly, I got butt pain for several days. My breasts hurt so bad that I can’t stand it anymore. That’s why I wanted to check the reviews for it. I’m overwhelmed by the number of people who have the same experience as me. I’ll stop the pill ASAP tomorrow. This pill is the worst. I should have checked the reviews for it."

For Birth Control "Read all these negative reviews and still tried it because I have horrible periods. DON'T BE LIKE ME, DON'T DO IT. If you must take this pill, at least quit after a month or sooner if you are feeling bad. I stuck it out for 2.5 months like an idiot because I was trying for the 3-month mark. Everyone in my life was worried. This pill made me extremely depressed, anxious to the point that I spent those two months doing nothing. Constant migraines. Horrible nausea, which is not something I've experienced ever before in my life. Even now, going off of it, I'm still nauseous just from how much it messed me up. I was so emotional, and it was clearly hormonal. That feeling you get when you are on your period and you cry at a commercial but ALL THE TIME. Month of spotting then heavy bleeding on my period. This pill robbed me of 3 months of my life that I'll never get back, and I could have easily lost even more. Be careful. (took Lutera before and never had such severe side effects, I'm in my mid-20s)"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Was on Sprintec for years and recently started having increased nausea and increased nervousness. GYN switched me to Estarylla. I've been on it for a month now, and I feel really good. No nausea, headaches, less cramping, but it takes about 3 months to regulate in your body, so the breakthrough bleeding has been unpredictable. With Sprintec, I didn't have a cycle for 3-4 months (taking it back to back), but now I've had some spotting and 2 episodes of heavy bleeding with clots unexpectedly. Don't like that, but cramps are much less and emotions are constant, so I will just wait it out the 3 months, hoping my body will regulate. Other than the bleeding, I actually love this pill so far."

For Birth Control "Originally I was on the Junel birth control pill, but I was bleeding for over 6 weeks, so they switched me to the Estarylla pill, and boy was I in a dark place. Not only that, but I’m pregnant now - 3 months. So I don’t recommend it. I was always tired, sad, irritated, just overall not in a good place. But now that I’m pregnant and off the pill, I feel much better, minus the morning sickness."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had excessive bleeding that wouldn’t stop for months. I was going through tampons and pads every hour. It was horrible! I finally got insurance, and my doctor started me on progesterone-only pills. I was 50 at the time. They worked well... until they didn’t anymore. I started bleeding excessively again. I went to a new gynecologist and was put on Estarylla. It worked for me to control the bleeding, but I experienced worsening depression (crying all the time, lack of energy, and dark mood swings). I was on antidepressants, but they seemed to stop working. I also experienced massive hair loss... and found out many people were experiencing this as well. My doctor didn’t renew my prescription, and I just stopped taking it. Suddenly, I felt better! No extreme depression and no more hair loss! I’m feeling better. From what I experienced, I wouldn’t recommend. Best wishes to all who are going through this. I pray we have more research on this problem for women of all ages."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "For the first 3 months, I experienced terrible cramps and extremely heavy bleeding, but then again, before I started taking this BC, I was on my period for a month straight with terrible cramps and heavy bleeding as well. This BC does a good job regulating my period, and around month 4, bleeding was a bit lighter and cramping was not apparent at all. I am now on month 5 and I have been breaking out more-a lot of icky whiteheads on my cheeks. Not sure if it's cause of the BC, but my period is extremely light and I have no cramps whatsoever. At first, I hated Estarylla, but now I adore it because my body just had to adjust after 4 years of abnormal menstrual cycles and menorrhagia."

For Endometriosis "I started Estarylla to regulate abnormal bleeding from endometriosis and PCOS, but it didn't help at all. Just after the first month, I was hospitalized because I started losing so much blood I couldn't stand up without passing out. And the pain was awful-it shot down my legs and up my back and neck like electric waves. That period didn't stop for nine weeks, and I was in severe pain the whole time. Almost worse was the depression and panic attacks. I have a history with these struggles, but it got so bad on this medication that I wouldn't sleep for days. It's been so tough to try to figure out what's going on at the same time as I'm trying to find the motivation to do regular life things."

For Birth Control "I took Sprintec and Monolinyah depending on my pharmacy’s stock from about 2017-2021. I was switched over to Estarylla, and I unfortunately noticed an increase in my anxiety, experienced a very heavy depression, my libido vanished, my period got slightly heavier, and I started having some abnormal bleeding that made me truly convinced I was dying (it’s important to note that I’m a hypochondriac). My gyn has switched me over to something new, and I’m already feeling better just after a week, but because of the poor side effects, I could only rate this about 60% effective for me. It did prevent pregnancy! The only reason I didn’t switch to something else faster was that I didn’t believe it could possibly just be my pills causing me all of these issues. Listen to your body (and mind!) signals, even if you’ve been taking something for years and never noticed an issue. This could be a great pill for you, just keep an eye on your side effects."

For Birth Control "I am pleased with Estarylla and how it works. I still get hip and a little breast pain, but it's not too terrible. On the last three days of the pills, though, I get heavy bleeding and clots in the toilet. I am a bit emotional, but that is probably because I am almost 49 y/o and should be starting menopause. My low-dose pills made me bleed worse than the elevator in 'The Shining,' and I was leaving trails of blood like the O.J. Simpson crime scene. I just don't like how heavy my flow is while I take the placebo pills and look forward to taking my BC again."

"This BC gave me an adrenal deficiency, causing mood swings, breakthrough bleeding, anxiety, depression, inability to fall asleep, inability to wake up in the morning, and severe fatigue. I have been on this for almost two months now, and prior to use, I went to the gym every day, had lots of energy, and no anxiety. After this pill pack, I’m switching to the mini pill to estrogen detox."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am 48 and was put on birth control due to heavy, long periods. I've never used BC pills before this. I had been bleeding heavily for 38 days and was super anemic, so my doctor started me on this BC. Within 2 hours of taking my first pill, I stopped bleeding and was just spotting for about a day. I was so happy. I wasn't having any bad side effects, my period seemed controlled. About 8 weeks went by and I started having bad pain in my leg (it was a weird pain that felt like a charley horse, but only when I stood or sat. It went away when I laid down). About 4 days with the pain, I went to the ER and was diagnosed with a DVT blood clot. The doctor said it was related to the BC."

For Endometriosis "I was on Mononessa on and off for about 10 years. It got discontinued, they gave me Estarylla. I refused to take it, but they assured me it's 'exactly the same.' I have endometriosis, and I can confirm that this has helped those issues. I don't get bad cramping, heavy bleeding, back pain, or leg pain anymore. However, since starting it about 6 months ago, the side effects have been getting increasingly worse rather than better. The side effects I have are: migraines, bloating, extremely bad gas, diarrhea, breakthrough bleeding, hair loss, acne, sensitive vision, loss of appetite, sore breasts, and probably more that I can't think of. I would say the worst out of all of these is migraines. If you have a history with migraines, I would not recommend you take this. I do not have a history with regular migraines, but this has caused them for me. I do have a history with ocular migraines, though, and I went from getting 1-2 every year to getting at least one every month."
