For Birth Control "Since I've started taking this pill, my mood has been all over the place. I've been crying and sad all the time, and I'm a really happy person. I never have acne, and now I have acne. It's really bad, I feel bad! It's been only one week."

For Birth Control "I didn't realize it initially, but it makes sense as to why my emotions have been extremely haywire these past few months. I get uncontrollably angry at the slightest things, and it makes me go on scary rampages for no reason. Then when I realize how angry I get, I break down and go into a depressing state. It's a horrible cycle. I feel like I've gained a bit of weight also. In terms of acne, I don't feel like it controls it very well either. Overall, I haven't seen any good side effects of this pill."

"I wish I had read these reviews before I started taking this. Horrible nausea, acne, and no sex drive after just a week. I didn’t even realize they were correlated until I decided to do a search of its side effects because I just left a party because I was so nauseated. I don’t recommend this at all."

For Birth Control "I was given a different brand, which I took for 6 months. Then I was given another brand, Estarylla. It has had a negative effect. My acne keeps getting worse every month while I’m on Estarylla. These pills made me depressed, gained weight. I am switching back to Femynor, which cleared my acne and didn’t give me nausea."

For Birth Control "Just like everyone else, Walgreens recently switched me to Estarylla from Mononessa. I've been on a form of generic BC for 15 years and never experienced anything like the last two months. My acne is cystic and causing scarring on my face, which has never happened. I have had nausea, and my periods are so out of whack. I literally never know when I am starting or ending and also have random spotting. I am extremely irritable and moody. I have had some issues with random hives. I am not sure if it's related, but seeing all the other issues this is causing, I am just going to believe this is the culprit. I would NOT recommend this generic brand. I am switching pharmacies."

For Birth Control "I've been using birth control pills for over 10 years, and this one has been the best for me. Other ones cause me to have spotting, mood swings, etc. I haven't had any side effects with this one. My period is lighter, regulated, no spotting, no mood swings, no headaches, no acne. I do feel bloated, but that can be due to my poor diet. Everybody's different and may react poorly to it, but it's worth a shot. You never know until you try it. I was worried because of all the reviews, but it turned out great for me."

For Birth Control "I’ve started with Monessa. It caused me to spot for a month straight, so it was like I had a period for a whole month. This also delayed my intimate time with my boyfriend, which was super annoying and defeated the purpose of birth control. So after that horrible month, I ended up somehow getting switched to Estarylla. I’ve been on this birth control for about 3 months now. With this birth control, there are a few side effects, which included weight gain, a little acne here and there, nausea, moments of depression and crying spells, increased sex drive, a few seconds of blurred vision, increased appetite, and tenderness of breasts. Some people were saying that their hair falls out on this, it’s NEVER happened to me. I rate this birth control an 8. I have regular periods around the same time every month that only last for about 4 days, and my cycles are light. ZERO SPOTTING. Plus, I haven’t gotten pregnant yet, so that’s always a bonus for me! I’m beyond fine with my side effects."

For Birth Control "I gave my body two months to get used to Estarylla before I had to stop taking it. It was two of the worst months of my life. I could barely eat, was extremely tired all the time, and developed horrible acne on my forehead. But the worst side effects were the nausea, vomiting, and horrible diarrhea. I threw up every day for two months, and even drinking water would cause me to have to run to the bathroom immediately. It was an all-day fiasco, every single day. As soon as I stopped taking it and my period ended, I immediately felt like myself again. My stools returned to normal consistency (sorry for TMI), and my skin cleared right up. This is why I know it was the Estarylla causing these issues. Everyone is different, but I personally would absolutely not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for 2 weeks now, and I've been breaking out with hormonal acne. I found a way to combat it with saltwater, but acne has me very scared since I was on Accutane. I don't want to have acne ever again! I was scared it might return due to this pill. I've also been having hair loss, huge clumps will come out, as well as a tight pull will have a clump in my fingers. My breasts have enlarged and are very sore. Want to switch! I was on Tri-Lo Sprintec, and I had no symptoms, trying out Estarylla was a mistake."

For Birth Control "I am so happy I did an internet search and came across this site. Like most of the other reviewers, I was on Mononessa, and Walgreens switched me, telling me it was the same thing. Ever since the switch, I’ve been moody, depressed, gaining weight, terrible periods, and getting acne for the first time in years. I did some research and found out that other pharmacies carry Mononessa, so I will be stopping Estarylla immediately and switching pharmacies."

For Birth Control "I thought I was crazy, and I believed the assurance that Estarylla was like my go-to Mononessa, and it's so wrong. Thank you all for the reviews that make me know it's not just me! Spotting weeks 2-3, acne, cramps/clotting horribly when on period, terrible mood swings, painful breasts for weeks. No more! Yeah, I'm not pregnant, it's doing its job, but for all the insane issues over the last 3 months, I may as well be. I feel like a crazy person."

"My pharmacy switched me to this birth control because a manufacturer of the previous one had to stop production for some reason. This birth control made my skin break out. Granted, I always had acne in my teens, but the other birth control pills helped, and my face has been clear for years. This one, on the other hand, has given me huge, stubborn cystic acne around my chin and my forehead. No matter what topical creams I use, it just won’t go away. My hair started falling out, and I noticed a significant change in my energy levels. I feel so sleepy all the time and have a hard time concentrating. Nothing in my diet has changed, if anything, I started working out more and eating healthier, but it seems like nothing can give me energy. Not a fan. No nausea, though, so that’s a plus."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Been on Estarylla for about 3 weeks now. Been taking it consistently at the same time every day. Within the first week, I was randomly projectile vomiting without warning and breaking out really badly. Now, on week 3, those issues have resolved, my skin is actually really good, just seems very oily, but I’ve been breakthrough bleeding for 8 days. I don’t want to give up on the pill yet, but I don’t know how much longer I can handle bleeding like this. It’s also made me experience depression again, but no weight gain that I can tell. I’m very frustrated with the bleeding, but I’m going to keep taking the pill to see if it resolves."

For Acne "This birth control medication has been the worst ever. I have always had pimples, but with this birth control, I am extremely breaking out from cystic ingrown pimples to pimples all around the face that come out overnight. I’ve been on it for about 2 weeks now."

For Birth Control "I know everybody is different, but for me, this was an awful birth control. I was on Sprintec for two years until my pharmacy switched me to this, saying that it was the same pill, just a different name. That is completely wrong. I felt completely fine on Sprintec, I had hardly any side effects whatsoever. After one month on Estarylla, I developed depression and severe mood swings. I'd lash out at people for the smallest things and then feel completely awful about it once I calmed down. I’ve never had acne, but this made me break out so badly and gain so much weight despite being nauseous and having hardly any appetite. I will not be taking this one ever again and will demand to be switched back to Sprintec immediately."

For Birth Control "This medication is the worst thing that ever happened to me. My pharmacy switched me over from Sprintec because they said it's the generic version with the same formula, that might be true on the label, but it seems to react like it is completely different. I've never felt so sick from a medication before. I have nausea every single morning I wake up, and every other morning I will vomit. Sex drive is non-existent (because I never feel good). Acne weirdly increased when I switched, but that may just be due to lifestyle choices, not sure. All in all, this is the worst rubbish I've ever put into my body. If I could give it a zero, I would."

For Birth Control "Before I was randomly switched to Estarylla, I was on Sprintec for more than 4 years. I loved my Sprintec birth control, my skin was great, my weight was great, mild cramping, high sex drive, and here and there I was emotional, but overall it really did the job for me. Then I was randomly switched to Estarylla, the pharmacist told me I would be just fine and it wouldn’t change much. That was a total lie. I’ve been on Estarylla for about 3 months now, and it is so awful. My acne has returned really bad to the point I’m going back to my dermatologist to get prescribed something for it to stop causing cysts and scarring. I gained like 15 lbs, I get so depressed and anxious way more than I ever have. Lastly, my sex drive is meh now. The only thing I appreciate about this pill is my periods don’t last as long. But let me tell you, I’ve already set an appointment to switch back to Sprintec. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

For Birth Control "I was on Tri-Lo-Marzia for 4 years until I lost my health insurance, and I had to switch to Estarylla. I got it on the Pill Club. After 3/4 months, I started getting EXTREMELY depressed, I feel blank, I have constant brain fog, I don't like my life on this birth control. Also, it made my periods way longer and heavier, and my PMS symptoms worse. I have cramps now, which I've never had, acne, extreme bloating, spotting a whole week before my period, so many other side effects. I really can't wait to get off of this one, I hope everything goes back to normal afterwards."

For Acne "I’m going to go on a rant. This is terrible. Never have liked this at all. I had clear and perfect skin before taking this, and now my skin is breaking out like never before. Also, mood swings and emotions are out of control. I feel like I’ve also experienced a little bit of weight gain because my appetite increased with this stuff, so that’s also something to be wary of. I’m switching after this. Avoid this birth control if you can."

For Birth Control "Worst birth control for me. I have 2 periods a month for 4 months! I never had acne until I had kids, but when I started Estarylla, my skin got horrible. I had the most painful huge pimples on my forehead and chin. Finally went back to the NuvaRing. The problem, though, is I still have hormonal acne. I decided to try drospirenone ethinyl estradiol birth control pills because they are said to be the best for hormonal acne, we will see how this one works! Fingers crossed."

For Acne "I was on the arm implant for a year, worst experience of my life, so I switched to Estarylla. My skin cleared up some when I first started taking it, but I truly believe it was just because I got off the implant. I wasn’t sexually active, so I stopped taking the pill. My skin went completely back to normal (which is completely clear, my whole life I never really got acne). I started being sexually active, so I started taking Estarylla. WORST. IDEA. EVER. I started breaking out worse than I ever have before, all over my chin. I stopped taking it for this reason. I’ve been off for about 2 months, and I’m STILL constantly breaking out, and they won’t go away, and it’s actually gotten worse."

For Acne "I honestly don't know how to feel about this. Yes, my periods have gotten so much better in the last two months. However, I've been on this pill since October 2023. BUT my acne got so bad. I used to have severe acne and I cleared it with Accutane, but when I got on this pill, I started seeing changes in my face. I'm so depressed because I know this pill has made my acne return, and I have pimples that have not gone away in months and have left acne scars, but it has helped my periods."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control to actually get pregnant because my periods are so irregular. I've literally gone 9 months without a period, so as you can see, no periods, no babies. This birth control is horrible. I've only been on it for 3 weeks now. I've had terrible mood swings, acne breakouts, terrible cramping to the point of going to the hospital thinking something was wrong with me. I felt very nauseous and lightheaded and had bad headaches. By the 3rd week, I had clumps of hair coming out in the shower. I've never had any of these issues before. The only good I can give this is the fact that it made my period light and actually come on time."

For Acne "I’ve been on this pill for 2 months now, and I’ve had a good experience with it! The first month I had 2 days of spotting and that’s it, and my period came and went exactly when it was supposed to. The second month has been completely normal, although my period is one day late even taking the estrogen pill. It does help my acne through the month, but I do still get a few hormonal breakouts the couple of days before my period, hopefully, that gets better over time. I hope this helped!"
