For Birth Control "I am now in my third month of using Minastrin 24 Fe, the first time I've been on the pill in four years. Aside from a random day in the first month that I was extremely emotional and two weeks out of month two when I spotted constantly, I haven't had any other noticeable side effects. My weight has been constant and my mood the same. I don't have any real complaints other than the adjustment period being pretty awful."

For Birth Control "This has worked great for me! 9/10! I only say 9 because of something that has recently come up. I'm on my 4th pack of these pills, and all of a sudden, since Thursday of week 2 (it's now Saturday), I've been spotting on and off, which I thought would happen the first three months, but it's month 4 and just starting now. But otherwise, my actual periods are almost nonexistent, very light, only lasting about 2 days, so this really works great for me!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for almost a year, probably by far the worst birth control I've ever taken (side effects wise). This pill makes you bleed and spot ALL the time. I take it at the exact time every single day, and yet somehow my period will start like 2 weeks before I'm supposed to get it, and it will last for like a week of just pure spotting. This is verrrrrry annoying and inconvenient for a woman with a boyfriend. You never know if one day you're just going to start bleeding or not. Periods are just as bad as before I was on the pill, cramps, bloating, and heaviness of bleeding varies. I also have almost a nonexistent sex drive, which sucks. Also, I have been having stomach issues on and off since I've been taking this."

For Birth Control "Been on for about 7 months. Sex drive has been gone since starting. Sex hurts if tried, and I'm very emotional constantly. Gained a bunch of weight. Haven't had my period in 4 months, only some spotting."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Minastrin for over a month now. I loved it at first because there was no nausea! I took it as soon as I got it to postpone my period for an upcoming cruise... I read from 3 reputable sources that it was fine. My period was really heavy and lasted for 9 days..... wtf I thought birth control was supposed to make them light. I also had painful cramps 8/9 days...... Again wtf.... Anyways, I've also noticed my vision isn't as sharp as it was before I started taking it, and I most recently have had depressive thoughts. I was never like this before I took this mess. I won't be giving it time either. This is awful."

For Birth Control "I had been on a different BCP for over 20 years and had a generally low libido but pretty much no period with that pill. I went off to have a child, then returned to the same pill and became very emotional and depressed with a worse libido. My doctor changed me to Minastrin, and my emotions were much better, and libido improved also. I do get spotting the week before my period, which is non-existent. However, now that I've been on this pill for over a year, my weight has increased 14 pounds. I am so hungry, and my blood sugar doesn't seem to be very steady (I tend to get low blood sugar easily and am not a diabetic). So now I'm really hungry and can eat as much as my husband, and even though I'm exercising more, I continue to gain weight."

For Birth Control "I was switched over to Minastrin 24 Fe from Loestrin 24 with no control over it. At first, I thought I was doing alright, but now I am not. Because at the age of 42, my whole face is covered in blemishes and acne. I have not had this problem since I was 25. I have not changed anything that I am taking or any products that I am using or what I am eating. This is the only change in my routine. I am going to try to switch to something else."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill about 3 1/2 months ago after taking Lo Loestrin for over a year, which, by the way, I loved. I switched because apparently my doctor wanted me to get my period back and he thought that by increasing the estrogen dosage, my period would, ergo, come back. Well, it didn't! So far, I do not like this birth control. My mood has changed and so has my libido, which is crazy because I'm like the female version of Christian Grey (Fifty Shades of Grey reference). I gained 6 freaking pounds, I already can't see things that are far away, and this pill has made it worse. I cannot wait to go back to Lo Loestrin. Hope my experience helps some of you ladies and please let me know if any of you also lost your period, lol."

For Birth Control "Like the others here, I had been on Loestrin 24 Fe for about six years before I was forced to switch to Minastrin because they discontinued it. It was awful, gave me horrible mood swings, and I kept having huge fights with my boyfriend and everyone, and I knew it was this pill because that is not like me at all. As soon as I switched, the mood swings went away."

For Birth Control "When I got my period at 12, I was getting it 2 times a month for 7 days each. Literally, half of my life I was on my period. Then I was on a pill that was good (Tilia Fe) and got my period regularly for 5 days at a time. Then my doctor told me about this pill and that her entire staff used it because they either got their period for 2 days or not at all. I was sold! And I'm still sold after a solid year on it. NO weight gain, NO cramps, NO mood swings, and I get my period for 1-2 days max! It's a miracle pill for me. I'm so sad to read such negative reviews about Minastrin 24; it's funny how pills are so different for people! YAZ made me completely insane; it is very expensive though at $54 - I would pay a million dollars; I LOVE IT!"

For Birth Control "Absolute worst pill ever. I switched to this pill because I was having spotting and constant yeast infections on other pills. Switched to Minastrin in early December. Immediate weight gain. Not 1-2 lbs, 15 lbs. I am an active female. I work out 4-5 times a week for 5-10 miles. I kept gaining weight no matter what. No sex drive. No period, which is scary and a problem unto itself. I was just switched to another pill to see if these side effects diminish. Terrible pill. 15 pounds in 5 months. Not worth it. Stay away."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin before it was discontinued and have been on Minastrin for a little over a year now. Immediately starting, I stopped getting any sort of bleeding and started getting cystic zits around my second week of the pill each month (I never had any acne when I was a teen). This was tolerable until about nine months into the pill when I started getting large whiteheads all around my nose and chin. Bye bye, Minastrin!"

For Birth Control "I agree with the girl that said if she can rate this any less than a 1 she would. My doctor put me on it to stop my migraines after switching from Yaz. I'm 24 and have been on the pill since I was 16. I've struggled with depression in the past, and this gave me such bad mood swings that I have not felt this depressed in the longest time. Still getting migraines. Skin is breaking out. I've always struggled with that, but Yaz is the only one that helped apparently. I'm supposed to start my 3rd month until I see my doctor again, but at this point, I decided not to take it and wait until my visit."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and because of how bad my cramps used to be, I have been on birth control since I was 15. I was recently on Sprintec, and because of how high the dose was, I started taking Minastrin 24 Fe. I first read the reviews, which I didn't like so much, but decided to try it anyway. I started this pill, and immediately my boobs got about a size bigger (which I didn't need). I have been bloated for weeks, and my hair has been literally falling out. I am not one who goes by reviews because everyone's body is different, but honestly, this pill has been a nightmare, and I would never recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "Within a day of starting this, I started experiencing horrible side effects-my skin started to break out, and my appetite was fluctuating drastically. But the worst part was the terrible mood swings. I became terribly depressed and was crying for an hour a day for no reason. Couldn't finish the month."

For Birth Control "I got on Minastrin because I used to take Loestrin 24 Fe, and my doctor told me it was the same thing, but just a different name. Loestrin was perfect - I didn't even feel the effects of the pill (never gained weight, suffered from mood swings, etc.). Minastrin was the complete opposite experience. I'm constantly crying, I'm in constant PMDD mode, and my sex drive is literally non-existent. I tore apart my relationship with my boyfriend, and I completely regret ever going on it."

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and I was prescribed Minastrin after being diagnosed with PCOS. I can say I am definitely very happy with it! It made my periods very light, and over time they eventually stopped (sometimes they occur for about 5 hours on the last day of the placebo pill). I have been on this pill for about 2 years now and have not experienced any acne, weight gain, or nausea like other people have. Sometimes I get very moody before my period, but it is not extreme. The only thing I noticed for a period of time was constant yeast infections, which was pretty miserable. But after getting through that, I am perfectly fine on this pill (and haven't gotten pregnant, so that's a plus too)."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 9 months. I am 29 and newly married. I thought I'd check and see if any others had sleeplessness and restlessness. Not sure if it is this pill or the big life change. Also, I don't think I am depressed, just super emotional. I can cry at the drop of a hat. Seriously. My hubby doesn't notice that change, but I do. Not sure how linked the sleeplessness and emotional tears are."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for 1 year, and I really have no complaints about it. The only thing that bothered me in the beginning was that I would get so nauseated at night after I took the pill, but after a month my body got used to it and I had absolutely no other problems. The only reason I am having to switch is that my insurance isn't covering it, and it's a little too expensive. But I would recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "Before I started taking this, I was very easygoing and rarely let little things get to me. As soon as I started taking it, I got horrible mood swings, which have continued on and off ever since (I give my boyfriend all the credit in the world for putting up with it). Also, I immediately started gaining weight, about 30 lbs, until I basically started starving myself. Plus, my breasts grew from about a C to a DD and are starting to feel saggy, which wreaks all kinds of havoc on my back and stomach muscles. My periods have been very heavy, and previously, they were always very light. It seems like the only days I'm not bloated are when I take the placebos. I only rated as high as I did because I haven't gotten pregnant :p (yet)"

For Birth Control "I was on Minastrin 24 Fe for nearly 5 months. During this time period, I had horrible mood swings, and I was constantly emotional. My boyfriend said that I didn't seem like myself. I also ended up gaining nearly 10 pounds and had very tender breasts all the time. I also would get awful cramps, backaches, and headaches during my periods. My periods were very light, though! All in all, Minastrin 24 Fe was not for me. I have now switched to Loestrin, and I already feel so much better."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for almost a year now (I had never tried any other birth control prior), and I've had no bad side effects. I've never had a problem with weight gain, and I haven't experienced any since I've been on the pill. No unusual mood swings. My skin cleared up dramatically. No terrible cramps anymore, and my period has pretty much disappeared! Really wish I would have found this sooner!"

For Birth Control "I am 41 years old. I started taking Minastrin at age 37 because my periods were lasting almost 10 days. My periods weren't bad (no cramps, heavy bleeding, etc.), but most of those 10 days my period was light, and I wore a pantyliner because a tampon was irritating. But extended use of pantyliner was irritating as well. I was also experiencing strong PMS-type mood swings as well. Despite my age, my doctor put me on Minastrin. I maintain a healthy weight, eat well, non-smoker, no other health conditions/concerns, etc. I have not had a period since I started taking it, and it is wonderful :). I do get moody/irritable about a week before the placebo pills are taken. But I am aware of this and 'check myself' (am I overreacting, etc.?)."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin, then switched to Minastrin. I love both pills and have zero problems. I used to be extremely hormonal without the pill, and I first got on it to even me out emotionally. The first pill I got on worked well, but my body got used to it after a year, so I had to switch. I went to the shot, and when I first started going to my ob-gyn, the first thing she did was get me off the shot and onto Loestrin. I love Loestrin/Minastrin so much."
