For Birth Control "I've never been on birth control until now. I'm at the end of my first month of Minastrin, and it's been an awful experience! It caused so many relationship issues for me, due to the fact that it makes me an emotional mess! I cry all of the time and find myself angry and searching for something ridiculous to blame it on. My breasts got larger, and although I haven't noticed any weight gain, I have noticed headaches and nausea. I'm about to cry right now, and I have no idea why!"

For Birth Control "I had severe cramping and bled for 21 days. My period before this birth control was only 4 days. I have taken myself off. The 21-day period, the heavy clots, the nausea, and irritable state just was not worth it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Minastrin for maybe less than a year, and for my body, it works great! I had no nausea, less cramping and bleeding, and cleared my acne up. However, I did gain about 10 lbs and lots of bloating. Overall, it worked great. My periods were much lighter and lasted about 2-3 days, plus I haven't gotten pregnant. Unfortunately, my insurance company does not cover it, so I've been paying around $80 per month. Keep in mind everyone's body reacts to birth control differently, so do not get overwhelmed with the negative reviews!"

For Birth Control "I am 16 and have been on this for almost a year now. I like this medication because, for me, it has done a great job of easing my headaches and nausea. I still get some once in a while, but it's not as bad as before. I have not had any real problems with my mood, but I do see that I cry more often and sometimes get a little depressed, but I am able to blow it off. The only real criticism I have about this medication is that when I started on my period again, it was regular, then it stopped. COMPLETELY! But I was like, what?!? I would spot, but at random times. For the year I have been using it, I can say I have only gotten my period maybe twice. Very hard to know if you're pregnant without a period."

For Birth Control "This is my first time on birth control, so I'm not comparing it to another brand. I started taking this to help with my extremely heavy and painful periods. Pros: periods are 3 or less days and are extremely light, I no longer experience horrible cramps, just very minor aches. I haven't gotten pregnant, only 4 placebo pills compared to 7, my skin cleared up. Cons: my transition period was rough - I spotted 20 of 30 days the first two months. I had extreme nausea the first month that killed my appetite. I still have occasional nausea, particularly at night, but I no longer spot. Only side effects I've noticed. It took care of my main problem though - heavy painful periods, so it's been worth it, I will stick to it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Minastrin for over a month now. I loved it at first because there was no nausea! I took it as soon as I got it to postpone my period for an upcoming cruise... I read from 3 reputable sources that it was fine. My period was really heavy and lasted for 9 days..... wtf I thought birth control was supposed to make them light. I also had painful cramps 8/9 days...... Again wtf.... Anyways, I've also noticed my vision isn't as sharp as it was before I started taking it, and I most recently have had depressive thoughts. I was never like this before I took this mess. I won't be giving it time either. This is awful."

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and I was prescribed Minastrin after being diagnosed with PCOS. I can say I am definitely very happy with it! It made my periods very light, and over time they eventually stopped (sometimes they occur for about 5 hours on the last day of the placebo pill). I have been on this pill for about 2 years now and have not experienced any acne, weight gain, or nausea like other people have. Sometimes I get very moody before my period, but it is not extreme. The only thing I noticed for a period of time was constant yeast infections, which was pretty miserable. But after getting through that, I am perfectly fine on this pill (and haven't gotten pregnant, so that's a plus too)."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for 1 year, and I really have no complaints about it. The only thing that bothered me in the beginning was that I would get so nauseated at night after I took the pill, but after a month my body got used to it and I had absolutely no other problems. The only reason I am having to switch is that my insurance isn't covering it, and it's a little too expensive. But I would recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "I switched onto this pill from Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. The reason I switched was because Ortho was making my acne increase and started making my periods very, very painful. Minastrin started off okay for me. If you despise having a period, this is for you. This pill was fine until about 6 months in. It started to make me nauseous and moody and so anxious. At first, I was worried I was pregnant and ended up going crazy and taking about 10 tests. I'm switching to another pill, but basically, my biggest issue with this pill is the side effects I got at the 5/6 month point. I never had a period after the first pack, which also added to my constant anxiety and paranoia. It was brown the first period and then nothing."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lo Loestrin for 6 months, and I love it. I ran out and had a sample pack of Minastrin and thought, 'What could one month hurt? I'll save $25!' Stupid. Never again. I've been nauseous since the first pill, with daily stomach troubles. My breasts are so sore. But the worst is the anxiety/depression. I've started waking in the middle of the night with panic attacks and feel anxious pretty much 24/7. I'm going back on Lo Loestrin tomorrow. Minastrin and I are breaking up for good. We are no longer friends."

For Birth Control "This is my 4th month on this pill. My gyno switched me from Loestrin to this because I was having in-between spotting and cramping. I am 43 and have been on some form of bc pill for a long time. It made me nauseous the first two months. Periods were much shorter and lighter, but cramps were kind of bad. Now, on my 4th month, I had a day of spotting, no cramping, and that's it. No period at all. I ALWAYS have a period. So not sure if this is a good or bad thing."

For Birth Control "I took Loestrin 24 Fe for a number of years and had no issues. I stopped taking birth control for two years and recently started back, now on the Minastrin 24 Fe. I have been on it for two months and have had daily headaches since starting. I have nausea off and on, gas/bloating, and an inability to orgasm since starting it. It's not the same medicine at all. Plus, a nice rash has begun on my chest. I went to my gyno and am switching ASAP."

For Birth Control "I just very recently started this birth control, and I was very wary of it at first because my experience with Loestrin Fe was terrible. But ever since I've been on this pill, it's like heaven! Loestrin made me super nauseous, very moody and angry, and completely killed my sex drive. Now that I'm on Minastrin 24 Fe, I feel completely normal! I'll admit, in the beginning, I was slightly moody and I have noticed a slight decrease in sex drive, but nothing too major. Overall, I love this birth control, and I'm so happy with how it worked out for me!"

For Birth Control "I haven't been on birth control for a few years, but I have used two different brands, and this has got to be the worst one I've ever been on. I lasted all of two days. I read the side effects and reviews, but wanted to try it out for myself, and I will have to agree with all the negative reviews on the pill. My side effects were really bad nausea, mood swings, and severe anxiety. I would go from wanting to cry, punch someone, or total sadness in a matter of minutes. I know your body has to adjust, but going through just two days of what I went through, I decided to stop taking it. I would say try at your own risk!"

For Birth Control "I started a sample of this pill on 12/13/2015. In the beginning, it was okay. A week later, I started spotting and cramping like my period was coming. This went on for about a week. Now I'm extremely nauseous ALL THE TIME. I can barely eat. Plus, I have no energy since starting this pill. I also became depressed for no apparent reason. And let's not talk about the migraines. It's safe to say they are now in the trash! I'll go back to the old-fashioned condom method of birth control."

For Birth Control "So I have been taking this pill for a month and a half, and I'm glad that I will be switching back to Lo Loestrin Fe. This pill was fine for the first month, but once it got into my system... oh boy. I'm nauseous all the time, which is only relieved by burping or breaking wind. (Gross! I get that it's a bodily function, but 24/7?!) I had five days of breakthrough bleeding. My doctor told me it's normal to not get a period after starting this pill. But when you're sexually active, it gives you pause when you don't get one (have not missed a pill). My boyfriend says that my moods have changed and that I'm lethargic when I'm with him. I also get that I'm stressed out with the holidays, but I really don't need my birth control adding to it!"

For Birth Control "So, I've been on birth control since I was like 16 years old - I'm 24 now. I started taking Loestrin 24 Fe for a while, which I loved! Then I tried out the Depo shot, that was cool as well. Got back on Loestrin 24 Fe since it's the holy grail for me! Never had any problems with this birth control. I stopped taking it for a while, then, of course, it was discontinued. Now here's Minastrin 24 Fe. Well, I began taking this medicine and would become so ill that I wanted to cry literally every day for about an hour. Not only that, but the mint taste makes me very nauseous to this day, and it's been 6 months. I've lost all attraction to my boyfriend after starting this pill. It sucks!"

For Birth Control "Before Minastrin, my periods were extremely irregular, fairly heavy, and accompanied by cramps strong enough to cause vomiting, acne, breast tenderness, and headaches. Minastrin was a miracle. My periods now only last 2 to 4 days, are extremely light, and they happen at the same time every month and never on weekends. I never gained weight either. The only negatives that I've noticed are the first week of pills I was nauseated every morning, but that passed, it causes some mood swings that my parents noticed as well, and my cramps haven't fully gone away, but they are much more manageable due to regular periods and only last 2 days instead of 4. With these negatives, though, I strongly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I would definitely recommend this pill to anyone! I used to have terrible cramps and a heavy period, but since I've been on Minastrin, I spot for 2 days at the most and really don't even need more than a panty liner, also barely any cramping. Take the pill as the directions say, and if it makes you sick, TAKE WITH FOOD! In the beginning, I was literally throwing up every night, I was so sick, but then I discovered that if I take the pill with dinner, I have no side effects. Other types of birth control used to make me super moody and lose my hair, but I've had no issues with this one! Although it is expensive because it is brand name, to me, it's worth it. You can find discounts online that help if your insurance doesn't cover it."

For Birth Control "Ok, I went on it obviously to prevent pregnancy, but also to help with my painful periods. Pack one, I had breakthrough bleeding about two weeks after my normal period (pre-BC) with no withdrawal bleed. I had extreme headaches, nausea, and anxiety. Pack two, same side effects, but had a normal withdrawal bleed. Pack three, the side effects went away, and my withdrawal bleed was less than normal. Super easy to care for. Pack four, my withdrawal bleed was abnormal. It lasted the entire four days of brown pills, but it itself was brown and not red. Pack five's withdrawal bleed started out brown and ended like a normal period. Color and all. My anxiety was so bad about pack five that I took two pregnancy tests just to rule out the weirdness."

For Birth Control "You can actually call this birth control because I didn't want to have sex while I was on it. I had no type of sex drive whatsoever, and I'm always in a mood. I had mood swings, depression, and was nauseous all the time. The only thing that Minastrin was good for was my periods were light and lasted two days, and I didn't get pregnant. I was originally on Loestrin 24 Fe and stopped. Loestrin 24 was the best birth control ever. I went back on birth control a year later because I couldn't afford to pay for it at the time, but now my insurance basically covers anything now. The doctor prescribed me Minastrin, and it was the worst thing ever. I stopped using it after three months and felt so much better."

For Birth Control "Absolutely loved this pill the first 5 months of taking it, light period, only 2-3 days. No cramps. It's very effective - pregnancy-wise. But it's been a year now. I haven't gotten my period since August 15, and it is now November 11th. Sure, it's nice, but it is very unhealthy for the body. I am not pregnant if that's what you were thinking, the pill just doesn't give me periods. I have had terrible tension headaches all year, and all of a sudden breaking out all in my T-zone of the face. Blind pimples and boils under my armpits, along with nausea and drowsiness. I am 16 and don't want to have to deal with all these side effects! Not to mention the pill makes me feel sad and crazy sometimes. I definitely do not recommend it."

For Birth Control "At first, this pill made me very nauseous, and I want to say that's the only negative side effect that I've experienced. It has helped my hormonal acne tremendously, I have struggled with acne my whole life, and although it hasn't cleared it up all the way, I definitely saw a lot less of it. Seeing other reviews, I'm relieved that I'm not the only one who has very light or no period while on this birth control. (I'm not complaining, but it's a little scary when you're sexually active!)"

For Birth Control "I have read almost all the reviews, and I have the same horrible side effects. I thought I was losing my mind! CONS: No sex drive - I mean sub-zero. Painful intercourse, mood swings, anxiety, depression, tension headaches that make me want to cry, nausea out of nowhere, feeling like I can't catch my breath, boobs hurt almost to the touch of air. Pros: My period is nonexistent, very low cramping, no pregnancy. I hate it, I went to a new gyno, and she is taking me off, we are trying something else."

For Birth Control "It's been good for me so far. My Gyno chose Minastrin for me because it's low hormones. I can't really tell if I've gained weight, but it doesn't really matter to me. I've had some bad side effects (nausea) the first month of taking Minastrin, but my Gyno said that was to be expected. Most days I'm not really hungry, but then some days I'm starving. It just depends! This is my first BC and I'm 21, so I haven't really had much other experience, but this is all what I expected. It's okay, but if it's not working for you, talk to your Gyno and find one that does!"
