For Birth Control "I have been taking Larin Fe 1/20 for about 2 weeks now, and I’ve got to say that it is the worst I’ve ever felt on any birth control. Horrible nausea shortly after taking it, and increased anxiety and constant panicky, and on verge of tears feeling. I am a person that never dreams or remembers any dreams, at least, and ever since starting this pill, I have had nightmares almost every night and wake up in a panic in the middle of the night and resume nightmares when going back to sleep till morning. Insane mood swings and frequent hot flashes. Zero sex drive, so in that case, it is effective as birth control because it makes you not want to do anything at all. Not worth it. Only going to go to the end of this pack to not throw off my cycle completely, and I am never taking it again. Should be taken off the market after seeing all of the other negative reviews about it too. Scary stuff."

For Birth Control "My ob-gyn prescribed this to me to treat menopause symptoms. Well, peri-menopause. I was still ovulating and having some periods sporadically. She also prescribed a low-dose testosterone gel to go along with it. The combination was life-changing! I felt like my old self again! My symptoms were major fatigue, anxiety, joint pain, loss of sex drive, loss of all motivation, and weight gain. After taking the combo of Larin Fe and testosterone, I felt so much better. I’m like a different person now. This review is supposed to be about Larin Fe, and I can say it is responsible for helping me feel myself again. I was on it for several weeks before the testosterone and no longer had hot flashes or mood swings. The testosterone gel added to it was a perfect combo. Finally, an ob-gyn who knew what they were doing! All the others kept giving me estrogen and progestin pills, but my hormones were still fluctuating. The Larin Fe took over and kept my levels at a steady rate."

For Birth Control "This birth control was a disaster. My mood was horrible, I was depressed and would have a meltdown over absolutely nothing. My sex drive was very, very low. It did prevent pregnancy, and my periods were light. But it wasn’t worth how it made me feel. I had to switch to this when my insurance stopped covering Minastrin. I am now stopping this and starting Sprintec in hopes I can return to my normal self."

For Birth Control "I have been on this Larin Fe 1/20 birth control for a full year. The first 6 months were a roller coaster. I had random bleeding, mood swings, and I was depressed. I did not feel like myself. My OBGYN did tell me that for the first 6 months your body will need to adjust, so I was prepared. I kept asking myself when is this gonna end? I actually got on a great routine with it (after the 6 months), and all of the above stopped. I did notice when I didn't take it at the same time for days in a row, I had random bleeding. The only thing is that my sex drive has plummeted, and this is so awful. I have come to the point where I don't even want to do it anymore, and I have never been like that. I think after my last refill (this month), I am going off of it. But, in the end, it did do what it needed to. Be safe and do what is best for you."

For Birth Control "I am 31 years old and started the pill for the first time in my adult life. Well, I’m on month 5, and it has been a roller coaster, and all I can think is when does it end, when do I feel normal again? Month 1, I bled for 4 weeks straight. Month 2, I had horrible nausea, and when I did eat, I had the worst heartburn. Month 3, I had the most vivid, detailed dreams. Month 4, I felt like things were getting a bit better, but now I’m almost through month 5, and I just cry all the time. I know my body pretty well and what triggers my stomach inflammation, but here I am, bloated all the time. I have no energy or desire to do anything. My sex drive has plummeted completely. The only thing this pill has done is shorten my period from 7 to 4 days, but those 4 days are awful and heavy. I plan to finish the 6-month pack and look for an alternative because it is not for me."

For Birth Control "Like everyone else says, you have to give this birth control some time as you adjust to the hormones. I'm about 8 months into taking it (had some brand name changes as this is generic for Junel and my pharmacy doesn't carry Junel), and definitely appreciate several nice aspects - shorter, more predictable periods, no weight gain, my skin looks better than it ever has, protection against pregnancy. I was a bit moody, nauseous, mild daily headaches, and super fatigued when I first began, but I feel all of those things have resolved. The only downside for me is I definitely feel my libido has noticeably decreased, though it is not completely absent by any means. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it!"

For Birth Control "I went off this pill because I was so sick of having zero sex drive and no periods. Back on it, and it is scary not having regular periods, especially with some of these strict laws in some states. It’s great in that it kills your libido to the point you don’t even desire the sex anymore! Hot flashes, constant wetness, and itching… definitely changing it up very soon. Not a good choice for me."

For Birth Control "I switched to this a couple of years ago when I would end up in an insurance plan that did not cover the Minastrin generic I’d taken for some time. Breakthrough bleeding was an issue on and off for about a year. Tanked my libido from the beginning. Have battled to control weight with diet and exercise for the first time ever. The weight and libido issues have caused anxiety in themselves. I probably put up with this one much longer than I should have. I’m back in an insurance plan that covers the Minastrin generic, so I’m headed back to it. My doctor told me these drugs are the same, and they are very, very most certainly not. Be your own advocate!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Larin Fe for about two months now. This was my first time ever being on BC. The first week I was nauseous and moody. I bled for 20+ days, which is abnormal for my normal cycle. My gyno told me to keep taking it, so I did. Now the original bleeding has stopped, but my period is super late. I’ve been cramping on and off for weeks, but no blood. I’ve also been moody and snappy. My sex drive has decreased. I’m hoping when I finish my second pack later this week, everything will go back to normal."

For Birth Control "Dr. prescribed Larin Fe because I wanted to not have much of a period and help with my acne! I was on it about a month, and I could tell I was easily aggravated and felt enraged sometimes! Talked to Dr. and said give it 3 months to give it time to completely work! 3 months later, I was still feeling ill, enraged, low sex drive, but no periods! It wasn't worth it to me! Called Dr. and he wanted to give me an anxiety pill! I said nope and stopped taking it! 2 weeks later, and I am experiencing the worst symptoms I have ever felt! Cramps, nauseous, and back hurting! It's been horrible! 3 days later, I went to Dr. and got nausea meds and Ultram for pain! I wouldn't recommend this pill!"

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I’ve been on. Long story short, I cannot wait to be switching. I’ve never experienced anxiety before going on this pill. I have extremely negative thoughts and became so insecure. I have an extremely low sex drive now and haven’t gotten my period since I’ve been on it. To add to these issues, a few months into taking these pills, my breasts hurt so bad I can’t touch them and barely get out of bed. I hope the new pill I switch to is much better."

For Birth Control "Decided to go back on birth control to help with my PCOS symptoms that were coming back hard from going birth control-free for 5 months, and so far it's been so-so. Originally, I was taking Junel, and it worked wonders for me. But I got prescribed this instead. I did some research and read a lot of reviews on this page and was nervous I'd have a bad reaction, but I tried to be hopeful. The 4th month in, and I've gained 20 pounds. Before I started taking Larin back in November, I was 170. I'm at 192 now. It had helped with my acne to a degree and have had mild periods, but my libido is extremely low. I feel intense cravings for sweets along with the weight gain, which I struggle with enough as is. :( I can honestly say I don't recommend. It helps, and it doesn't help. Just depends on you. I know everyone is different, but listen to these reviews and, at the very least, consider your options. I tried giving this a few months, and it wasn't worth it."
