For Birth Control "Obviously, everyone is different, and believe me, I’ve had my fair share of horror stories of birth control side effects in the past, but it’s been almost two years, and this brand has been a lifesaver for me! The first two packs, the only complaint was about a half an hour of nausea in the evening. I take it at ten in the morning, so if this worries you, take it at night and sleep through it! It was nothing I couldn’t handle, and once I adjusted after about two months, I haven’t had an issue since. Three-day very light periods, which before I was using about five super plus a day! Now I’m like, bring it on! I save money on tampons and Advil. Also, my skin was fine before and still great after, no noticeable change in weight gain, no decrease in sex drive, no negatives whatsoever! But again, everyone is different, this is just how it affected me!"

For Birth Control "My experience with this pill was horrible. The first month was fine besides some nausea and minor weight gain (mostly in breasts). By the second pack, I was an emotional wreck. All my underlying depression and PTSD came back tenfold. I cry all the time, and I never used to cry. My anxiety is horrible-and it had been under control before I started this pill. I started taking it because I have PCOS and hadn’t had a period in 10 months. I will say it did regulate my cycle, and I haven’t had any skin issues, cramps, or migraines... but wow, nothing would make this pill worth it."

For Birth Control "Everybody is different, and I’m not saying this is a bad pill, it just didn’t work for me. I’m hoping this review can ease some other girls’ minds who are experiencing the same thing as me. I was put on this pill because my insurance no longer covered my usual brand, Junel Fe, and was told Larin was “the same thing, just different packaging.” 3-4 days into the pack, I started getting nauseous and anxious every day. I would gag at the smell of certain things, and my breasts hurt. I was convinced I was pregnant, which made my anxiety skyrocket. Turns out Larin Fe did its job preventing pregnancy, but the side effects were terrible. I threw up for the first time since being on this pill today and will be stopping immediately."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill, Larin Fe 1/20, since March of 2020, and it's the first pill I've ever used as a contraceptive. Initially, I experienced terrible waves of nausea while on it, alongside nightmarish mood swings that would leave me absolutely depressed and near-suicidal over the smallest things. Nearly 7 months later, though, almost none of these symptoms exist. My mood swings are occasional and far easier to handle, and I have no nausea. Furthermore, this birth control made my period much lighter and shorter, which is a huge plus for me. It's been wonderful at keeping me from getting pregnant despite having had unprotected sex a number of times while on it. Ultimately, this pill works differently for everyone, and hopefully, many who use it in the future will have the same overall successes that I have had with it."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Junel Fe 1/20 for 9 years and loved it, never had a single issue on it even when I first started. Then my pharmacy gave me Larin and lied, saying it just switched names. I stupidly trusted them and took it. I’ve been on it for 2 weeks now, and for the past two weeks, I’ve had no appetite, and when I force myself to eat, I feel like I’m going to throw up the entire time and can maybe get a couple bites down. My depression and anxiety have gotten 10x worse, and I go from okay to extremely angry within seconds. This birth control switch has been the only thing to change in my life, and after reading other women’s reviews with the same exact story, I know it’s 100% the Larin. I know everyone reacts differently to meds, but be cautious and aware of your symptoms while taking this pill. I’ve never been this miserable and depressed in my life."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Larin Fe 1/20 for about 2 weeks now, and I’ve got to say that it is the worst I’ve ever felt on any birth control. Horrible nausea shortly after taking it, and increased anxiety and constant panicky, and on verge of tears feeling. I am a person that never dreams or remembers any dreams, at least, and ever since starting this pill, I have had nightmares almost every night and wake up in a panic in the middle of the night and resume nightmares when going back to sleep till morning. Insane mood swings and frequent hot flashes. Zero sex drive, so in that case, it is effective as birth control because it makes you not want to do anything at all. Not worth it. Only going to go to the end of this pack to not throw off my cycle completely, and I am never taking it again. Should be taken off the market after seeing all of the other negative reviews about it too. Scary stuff."

For Birth Control "So I've been on this pill for two months now. At first, it was a little rough. I was nauseous and felt like I was going to throw up. Every time I ate, my stomach hurt like anything. Then, about the third row down, it went all away. Now my face still gets acne, and for some odd reason, my face is dry as well. Never used to be like that, smh. And I've gained weight on this. I was almost down to my pre-pregnancy weight, then bam, almost gained all the weight back, which was about 30 pounds. I've had one period, no cramps, which is ok. I haven't had a period yet for the second month, though."

For Birth Control "I haven't even been on this for a month, and I'm already looking into something different. My head is always hurting, I'm nauseous, tired, and my anxiety has been off the charts. And I've been insanely emotional. The only good thing is that I'm not pregnant, but the symptoms are similar to pregnancy, so it still makes me think I'm pregnant."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control on and off for the last 17 years. This is by far the worst one yet. The only positive thing I can say about it is I didn’t get pregnant. However, I felt like I was. I have been on Junel FE for years with no trouble. My pharmacy was out of it and assured me Larin FE was the same exact thing. I beg to differ. By day 5, I was so nauseous and felt horrible. I was ready to fall into bed by 7:30, utterly exhausted, which was not normal for me. The nausea was horrendous. I actually lost 5 lbs in 12 days because I couldn’t really eat. My anxiety went through the roof, which hasn’t happened in a very long time. To the point, I had a horrible panic attack in the middle of the night, which hadn’t been normal for me in a while. Don’t even get me started on the headache. Whew. I stopped taking it because my doctor called my script in somewhere else, and within 36 hours, I was back to my normal self. I would avoid Larin at all costs."

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication not even for a week. I've been nauseous for the past 3 days straight. Today I feel unbalanced and unable to focus on the computer screen. Last night I suffered unbearable cramps. The listed long-term side effects are wild, like 4 or 5 different cancers, like what human being would suggest someone take this horrible drug. This medication isn't worth the risk. I'd rather be pregnant."

For Birth Control "I hate this pill. I've been on different pills before, and I have never felt like this. I'm throwing up all the time. My appetite has increased heavily. My acne has never, ever been this bad. I'm tired all the time, and I just feel like shit since taking it. I've been on it for three months now, and every new pack is just a horror story. I get a very, very light period, which really pisses me off. I get it for one day. I hate that I'm the type of person who freaks out if that happens. It makes me so uncomfortable and nervous to basically not get a period. My OB won't change the pill, and I'm so fed up with it. I have no motivation at all. I never felt this way before taking this pill. I hate it."

For Birth Control "This was the first time I've ever tried birth control in order to curb my PMDD symptoms. In terms of doing that, I wasn't getting depressed and suicidal like I usually would a week before my period (I was still agitated though. That might tie into me getting off my anxiety meds). I experienced no nausea, but what I did experience were longer periods. I was taking it continuously with no breaks (advised by my OBGYN), but the first two months I had 7-day periods (albeit light). And then... my third month... 17 days and counting, I have had my period."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking this pill for almost 5 months. The first three months, I had spotting between periods. I think it may just take a few months to regulate. It does indicate that these are common side effects for the first few months. Now my periods seem more regular, just very light, which I don’t mind. I haven’t experienced any weight gain. In fact, I’ve lost just a little weight. My skin looks better than usual. I don’t experience cramps nearly as badly as before. I don’t experience any nausea or headaches. I don’t notice any feeling of depression or fatigue. I do feel a little more anxious than usual. Not sure if it’s the result of the pill, or just life stressors. All in all, though, this pill works fine for me."

For Birth Control "This is my 12th day taking Larin Fe 1/20, and my period has started the same day I started this medication. For the last 3 days, I have been feeling nauseous and light-headed. I am still heavily bleeding. My doctor gave me the medicine for nausea and vomiting. There is no way I can continue this medicine. But she said no matter what, don't stop taking it for at least a month. I feel like they are testing this medication on me. It is not worth it."

For Birth Control "On this or PCOS. I thought I was going crazy till I read y’all’s comments here. This BC sucks. So I already have anxiety/depression, but I’ve been a basket case lately. I was nauseous for 2 weeks and could barely eat. I’ve been gaining weight when I’m really not even eating, and my boobs are painful and swollen/growing. I’m one pill away from the end of my first pack, and based on all these comments and my terrible side effects, I’m done. I never had this with my previous BC. Wish I could give a negative rating."

For Birth Control "After seeing how many people on Larin Fe 1/20 shared the same side effects symptoms that I had, I wouldn’t recommend this pill to anyone. The first few weeks, I felt more anxious and depressed than normal, but I didn’t make the connection. I was also having bad dreams almost every night. It was only when I started to feel nauseous daily and constantly on the verge of tears, spending hours crying over an inexplicable feeling of sadness and doom, that I realized this pill was causing it (I rarely cry normally). It magnifies every tiny upset, anxiety, or annoyance; I can feel myself acting irrationally and unfairly towards people, but I can’t stop. I had some other stressors the past week, and the pill blew them up to 10x their intensity, and I had a horrible panic attack. I’m normally an even-keeled person; this pill has turned me into someone else. I’ve stopped taking it and can’t wait until the effects wear off. Don’t take this pill. Try Tri-Sprintec instead."

For Birth Control "I am 28 years old and a wife and mommy of two. The only reason I was put on birth control was due to painful periods and possibly having endometriosis. And the thought of only a 2-3 day period and no pain for periods sounded nice, but I was on this birth control for 4 months till I had a scare and had to switch to another one. It made me bleed a lot and have blood clots. I felt nausea. And I was told it was normal, so I kept taking it until the scare happened when I started having really sharp chest pain that sent me to the hospital, it seemed like I was having a heart attack! It also made me very emotional and depressed. I would not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "Larin Fe 1/20 was my first experience with birth control, and it is so, so, so bad. I started this because I had a pregnancy scare, and my doctor said it would help with my periods. My periods are not only more painful, but I've been getting 2-3 periods a month for the past 3 months I've been on it! I get a stomach ache every time I eat, no matter what I eat. I'm always nauseated. Random cramping. I also am always constipated, don't have a BM for as long as a week sometimes! And I am so depressed, and I cry over everything. I also go from mildly annoyed to feeling rage at the drop of a hat, which is not fair to my loved ones. My weight keeps fluctuating, even though I'm on a very calorie-restrictive diet. It's all bad - don't do it."

For Birth Control "I am 31 years old and started the pill for the first time in my adult life. Well, I’m on month 5, and it has been a roller coaster, and all I can think is when does it end, when do I feel normal again? Month 1, I bled for 4 weeks straight. Month 2, I had horrible nausea, and when I did eat, I had the worst heartburn. Month 3, I had the most vivid, detailed dreams. Month 4, I felt like things were getting a bit better, but now I’m almost through month 5, and I just cry all the time. I know my body pretty well and what triggers my stomach inflammation, but here I am, bloated all the time. I have no energy or desire to do anything. My sex drive has plummeted completely. The only thing this pill has done is shorten my period from 7 to 4 days, but those 4 days are awful and heavy. I plan to finish the 6-month pack and look for an alternative because it is not for me."

For Birth Control "I want to start by saying EVERYONE has a different body. My sister takes the generic brand of Loestrin and LOVES IT!! My friend got the shot and swears by it. I only took the pills for 12 days and I’m stopping MID PACK. Here is what I noticed. 1. I was getting cramps, and they hurt kind of bad. 2. I was nauseous and didn’t want to eat sometimes because I was scared to vomit. 3. I have started spotting and have not stopped yet. 4. I am breaking out again, and I have always struggled with acne. I got my skin clear about a year ago with spironolactone and Epiduo, so seeing my skin sh*t itself in 12 days was one of the last straws. LASTLY, my mother said she gained weight on BC, so considering genetics, I wanted to keep my body how it was. I called a pharmacist, and he told me the worst thing that would happen if I stopped mid-pack would be mood swings due to an imbalance of hormones. Good luck, ladies!!"

For Birth Control "I started these pills 7 months ago, the first 3 months were awful. I got strong migraines and a lot of nausea. When I started the 4th pack, I tried eating a small meal before taking the pill and noticed the effects were a lot less than they were when I took the pill with an empty stomach. Now I get no side effects, and my periods are very regular. And no, they don't make you gain weight as long as you're eating healthy and balanced meals."

For Birth Control "Like everyone else says, you have to give this birth control some time as you adjust to the hormones. I'm about 8 months into taking it (had some brand name changes as this is generic for Junel and my pharmacy doesn't carry Junel), and definitely appreciate several nice aspects - shorter, more predictable periods, no weight gain, my skin looks better than it ever has, protection against pregnancy. I was a bit moody, nauseous, mild daily headaches, and super fatigued when I first began, but I feel all of those things have resolved. The only downside for me is I definitely feel my libido has noticeably decreased, though it is not completely absent by any means. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it!"

For Birth Control "So I began the pill 3 months ago, and all was well for like 3 weeks. Then, once it came time for my period, it lasted 17 days, no joke. It was horrible, no pain really, but just way too long and annoying. Now, on the 3-month mark, I have been having symptoms of IBS and acid reflux, so nauseous all the time and very bloated and crampy. Not to mention my anxiety of pregnancy has skyrocketed due to these side effects and the fact my period is so light and only lasts 4 to 6 days, with no symptoms. It is nice, but how am I supposed to know I'm for sure not pregnant? It is horrible, can't wait to go to my appointment. I also have gained around 5 pounds that I can't drop in only 3 months. It is horrible for me, at least."

For Birth Control "In the beginning, Larin FE was a little rough. I was nauseous 1-2 times a day. Luckily, I had Zofran. I had acne terribly. I was moody and had random stomach pain. But that was the beginning. DON'T RATE THIS WITHIN A COUPLE OF WEEKS OF TAKING IT. If I went by the bad reviews of people who had only taken this a couple of weeks, I wouldn’t have gotten it. First off, your body hasn’t even had time to adjust to the medicine in that amount of time. I’m halfway through my second pack and now I don’t have acne, maybe a small blemish occasionally, no weight gain yet, no more nausea, no headaches. It’s great now that my body is used to it. I bled lightly for about three days the first week I started it, but since then I’ve not had a period. I had spotting for one day about a week ago, and usually, my period is 3 days and a regular flow but painful, so I don’t mind skipping it. If you try this birth control, give your body until maybe a few packs to adjust. Any meds you take, you have to adjust to the hormones before you know if it is good for you or not."
