"Worst birth control ever. My pharmacy randomly switched me to this 6 months ago after I had been on Microgestin for 2 1/2 years. Since being on Blisovi, I have gained 10 lbs, fainted twice, have horrible headaches and dizzy spells, nauseous constantly, no appetite, very sad, and get angry very easily. I also have barely any sex drive whatsoever. I barely have energy to want to do anything. I could sleep all day if I let myself. I've never felt so horrible in my entire life. After getting sick of gaining weight and fainting, I am finally stopping the pill. It is not worth it. BC is literal poison to the body. This brand just happens to be the worst one."

"I've been on this BC for a little over a year now and have consistently had problems with it and never fully connected the dots until I did more research on the drug. As far as preventing pregnancy, it works great, but aside from that, it wasn't. I didn't gain weight like some people, but it's affected my personality pretty severely. I get so emotional about everything. I cry really easily and I hate being alone. I'm so clingy to my fiancé, so much that whenever I have to go home (we live separately), I cry and cry when I'm at home without him. I get angry fast and I'm constantly irritated. I also get spotting a lot. If I take the pill even a few hours late, I get my period the next day, for like 3 days, even if I continued taking the pills."

"I have a congenital heart defect I was born with, so my Dr. prescribed me Losetrin FE about 5 years ago. Due to my insurance change, I had to switch to Blisovi FE 1/20, and let me tell you I love it. I have no headaches, vomiting, nothing. I took it 2 years straight, and when I was trying to get pregnant, I took a year off, and it still took me about 10 months to get pregnant with my son. He is 1 now, and I started back taking my pills again 7 months ago. My acne has gone away, I have regular periods to the date I took my last pill. Little to no cramping and light periods that last 3-5 days. I would highly recommend this pill. I know everyone's body is different. But just from my experience, I would highly recommend this pill."

"I’ve been taking Blisovi for a month now, and I haven’t really had any negative things happen to me besides some weight gain (but that’s probably because I don’t exercise, so whoops). The doctor said your body needs at least 3-4 months to adjust to the hormones, though, so hopefully everything will go back to normal. Earlier on, I did experience a little bit of nausea, but it went away after the 3rd week. ALSO, it does do its job on protecting from pregnancy. I had an accident around the twelfth day of me taking birth control, and my doctor said to wait a month before having unprotected sex, so I was super scared that I might’ve been pregnant. But then I got my period and was relieved. Definitely follow what your doctor says, though, so you don’t stress too much!! A bunch of sites say that you’re protected after 7 days of use, but for extra safety I’d wait until at least a month of using it. Overall, though, Blisovi has been a good first-time birth control for me."

"The absolute worst! I was nauseous all the time, threw up, and depressed. Also, sex drive and natural lubrication took a negative toll. I don't recommend this to anyone! It made my life miserable. My body felt extremely weak. It's just not worth it."

"I've been taking Blisovi Fe 1/20 for just about 3 weeks now, and I have been bleeding, not spotting, but bleeding-some days heavy, some not so heavy. So, since the second week, about 2 weeks now, I've been bleeding. I haven't had any side effects really, other than being a little moody, and I think that's because of this annoying bleeding. I know it takes your body time to adjust to birth control, but I've been on BC before, and I've never gone through this. I've read all the reviews on this birth control, and I haven't seen or read one good thing. I'm stopping this birth control and requesting something different."

"Thought I would share my experience of this BC. Prior to taking this, I was prescribed Larin FE. The dosing I needed was d/c from Larin, leaving my OB to prescribe me with Blisovi. I was a bit nervous prior to starting the new BC because of all the bad reviews and side effects associated with it on here. However, I have been taking Blisovi for about a month now and have experienced little to no side effects stated from other users. I had a small amount of acne and breakouts appear but combatted them with some extra skin care for a few weeks. Along with some mild cramping, nothing serious. I figured seeing as though most happy customers don't post their experiences online, I would do so! I have not been on this medication as long as some other commenters, but have not experienced nearly any side effects in comparison!"

"After taking the 1st dosage, I happened to do research on the birth control pill, and I read the reviews on this site. I was really scared to continue taking the birth control because of the reviews, but I'm happy that I continued. I am on week 3 of my 1st pack, and to be honest, the only two things that I have experienced are very mild acne (and that was in the 1st week), and also after week 2, I began my period (taking the pill because of amenorrhea). I'm 36 years old, and I've never had period cramps when I did have a regular period, but with this pill, I have mild cramps, and the flow is medium. My period usually lasts for 7 days, and I'm on day 5 just now starting with a medium flow after it's been really light... so I'm not sure how long this will last. So far, no nausea or any sickness. I also have not gained weight. I'm generally a healthy eater, so when hunger strikes, I down some quinoa, kale, and fruits, etc...."

"I have had a shaky experience with this birth control. Positives: no weight gain, anxiety, depression, or pregnancy. Negatives: if I forget to take a pill, I will start to spot and start my period within 8-10 hours of forgetting, and my cycle will be messed up the rest of the month. I also have drastically noticed a decrease in my sex drive. Mood swings and hormonal acne are definitely still there before I start my period. I’ve given this pill 6 months, time to try something new!"

"I was on the Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill to treat PCOS. This pill was awful. The pill made my face break out way more than usual, I had a lot of mood swings, and I was sad a lot. It also gave me horrible cramps. The only good thing about this pill was that it regulated my periods, other than that, it was horrible."

"I have been on this pill since April of last year, it is now November 2019. Six months ago, I experienced a dramatic change in my weight. I walked around with a feeling of being bloated even without eating a meal. Nothing had changed in my life concerning my diet. I eliminated eating meats to see if that would help me lose a few pounds. That didn’t help as much as I wanted because the weight stayed and the feeling of being bloated was still there. I did a self-evaluation and realized the only thing I take daily is my birth control pill. I looked up reviews to see similar experiences, and that immediately made me reach out to my doctor."

"I have been on this birth control for 6-7 months now, and it does what it's supposed to do. The first month met me with severe, painful cramping for 48 hours straight with no relief, and I definitely had breakthrough bleeding in the first 2 months or so. After that, things have generally been smooth sailing, my period has been getting lighter and shorter in duration every cycle since then. No significant changes in mood or facial acne, though this cycle I have started getting acne on my back and butt, which I never have experienced before. Sex drive has decreased, and I haven't been able to get 'wet' since the first month or so. But I still have been having plenty of sex regardless and am not pregnant, so it's doing its job."

"This birth control is terrible. I've never had acne before in my life, and now after taking this for almost 2 months, I have acne on my entire face, and also on my back. I have also gained 6 pounds, and this pill affects me emotionally very much. Since taking this pill, I now have bad social anxiety and constantly find myself tearing up for no reason at all. I am genuinely a happy person, and this birth control constantly has me feeling anxious or sad. The only positive of this is it has prevented pregnancy like its main purpose. I am now switching to a new brand."

"Please report these side effects properly. I also have side effects and am concerned that the FDA isn't able to track the data not reported to them. The FDA is responsible for ensuring that foods are safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled. It also oversees medicines, medical devices (from bandages to artificial hearts), blood products, vaccines, cosmetics, veterinary drugs, animal feed, etc."

"Understand that everybody's body is different, but there have been no negative experiences for me. I've taken this for several months, maybe even a year, I haven't exactly been keeping track. I take this for my acne, which has almost completely disappeared. I don't get bloated. My periods are completely tolerable and even light. Before the pill, my periods would ruin every pair of panties and pants. Not anymore. I also noticed my periods are shorter, too. They used to be one full week (maybe even a little longer sometimes), now my periods only last a few days."

"I absolutely love this birth control. It's the first I've started on, I'm on my third month in. I'm 18 years old, and my parents were hesitant on anything other than the pill. I've lost a little weight, I went from a size 3 to a size 0, and my breasts are tender and grew a cup size, which I'm not complaining about for a 5'0 girl. My periods are light, barely noticeable at all, I bleed two days and only use a few regular tampons those two days and don't cramp a bit. My only complaint is that I'm now a major crybaby for the smallest reasons, and my anxiety spikes up a little more than usual, but other than that, it's great. Acne is non-existing, hair is glossier than usual, it's perfect. I totally recommend this!"

"I use this birth control for irregular and heavy menstruation and I’ve had little to no problems with it. I did not gain weight, instead, I was able to lose it more easily. The only problem is that my cramps are worse than before. I was bleeding heavily for months nonstop and had little to no cramps, but now I definitely have them, though it’s not unbearable, just very annoying. I have IBS as well, and I’m not sure, but I think my flare-ups have gotten a little worse with this birth control, but it could just be a me issue. Other than that, no problems."

"I started this birth control a week ago, and the first couple of days were good besides the spotting. Now it's the 7th day, and I'm bleeding like it's my regular period when it's not supposed to be. The past 2 days, I have had really bad depression and thoughts. I have depression, but this BC is making it so much worse for me. I also have been noticing acne coming up around my jawline, which I never really got there until now. So I am stopping this BC, I was hesitant in taking it anyway because I have had bad experiences with mood swings on 2 other types as well. BC just isn't for me, I guess."

"I have heard a lot of bad reviews, so I thought I should share my own review. This birth control has NOT made me depressed or gain weight or make me want to eat more. The only thing I would say is that I spot a lot more, but that’s normal in any birth control within the first few months. Also, I get a little more acne than I had before, but nothing too serious, and it will probably go away when my body gets used to the new hormones."

"I have been taking Blisovi for 6 months and have had a great experience with the birth control so far. Luckily, I don't have any negative symptoms such as acne, depression, or mood swings. Some symptoms I've experienced are shorter periods with less cramping, larger breasts, and about a 5-pound weight gain (which isn't something to view as negative). My only personal thought or advice is to make sure you are treating your body like a queen... so eat healthy, exercise, and don't misuse the birth control."

"I'm surprised by all the negative reviews for this birth control! I know everyone reacts differently to different types of birth control, but so far, my experience has been good! No increases in cramps, PMS, or acne. I have had anxiety lately, but it was probably due to outside factors (19 unit course load and boy problems). I've never taken any type of birth control before, and I was really worried about how my body would react, but so far, everything has been fine! I've had spotting, but I hear that's expected in the first three months."

"- 1.5 months since I started taking Blisovi - 28 years old - Last time on BC was 10 years ago due to horrifying side effects on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (negative stars) - Week 1 on Blisovi: Nausea and weakness - Week 2 on Blisovi: Extreme drowsiness and exhaustion - Week 3 on Blisovi: Large appetite and cravings - Entire time on Blisovi: Mild acne, just a few pimples here and there - I’ve been very carefully watching my diet and trying to stay hydrated, so be aware and cautious of the side effects to stay ahead of the weight gain and so forth - I have not lost or gained weight— for me, that’s ok! - Most negative effect: Development of melasma (darkening of skin spots on face) **If melasma doesn’t get better, I will switch. I will update my review when I reach 3 months."

"Don’t take this. Please don’t get on this BC. For the first few months on it, I was fine, but after two years on it, all I can say is that I'm completely done. Mood swings, extreme anxiety (especially around when my period is supposed to start), depression, and so on. I could go on for hours about the horrible side effects of this BC. I have truly not felt like myself. Aside from the horrible mental effects, I have ZERO sex drive and random cramps and bleeding. Every time I am sexually active, I somehow convince myself that I am pregnant, which is really just from the anxiety this drug has given me. DO NOT TAKE THIS!!"

"I’m on the 3rd month of using this birth control, and everything has been pretty good so far. My first month using Blisovi Fe, I had light spotting for about a week, but that is normal. After the first pack, I have not had any more spotting. My periods are normally short for 4-5 days without birth control, but using Blisovi Fe has made my periods even shorter (about 3 days). Also, it made my periods even lighter than normal, which is a plus. Haven’t gotten pregnant, so that’s good too!"

"This was my first and only birth control until recently, and I'm changing now due to persistent acne. No breakout bleeding, unaffected libido/wetness, unaffected mood, and no other physiological symptoms. Boobs didn't grow and that made me a little sad. Lighter periods that always came every month. My acne cleared when I first started taking it, but after long-term usage the acne came back."
