For Birth Control "I have been taking it for about 5 months, and it definitely works for me as birth control. Haven’t gotten pregnant and made my periods way more regular. I used to have really irregular periods, so this helped a lot. It also made my periods much lighter, prevented me from getting acne on a cyclic basis, decreased my appetite, and caused me to maintain my weight a lot better after some minor weight loss. I think my cramps were greatly reduced, and it made my period experience much better. However, the one major side effect that I experienced was the extreme depression. I have had mental low points in my lifetime; however, the downward spiral that Vienva put me on was intense. It was so gradual that I questioned my own self-awareness at first. I thought perhaps it was just a phase. But the months went by, and my mental low point dipped lower and lower and began to affect my productivity, daily life enjoyment, and my relationships. It does work as birth control, though. So check."

For Birth Control "Vienva was the worst experience of my whole life. Like many, I was switched from Walgreens to this brand. I even asked the pharmacist if I would have any reactions, as in the past when they switched me, my body had a very difficult time adjusting to the medicine. They assured me that there would be no issues and it's like taking my current birth control, which was Lutera. Well, they were wrong. After a couple of days of taking it, I have had severe headaches, nausea, suicidal thoughts, depression, fear, constant panic attacks, bloating, more acne, and I've also gained over 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Currently, I am scheduled to go to my gynecologist to get a new form of birth control because apparently mine is no longer being produced. For anyone that's being routed to this birth control - use caution."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy switched me from Sronyx to Vienva due to a price increase of Sronyx. I was hesitant, but the pharmacist told me that they were the exact same thing and I shouldn't experience any changes. The first dose, I felt normal. The morning after my second dose I felt terrible. I had severe cramps that forced me to call out sick from work. I spent the day at home with increased anxiety and feeling depressed, something I hadn't felt in years. I genuinely thought I was going crazy. I decided to look up more information on Vienva, where I saw that I wasn't alone in these feelings. It definitely seems like something in this pill aggravates anxiety. Definitely wish my pharmacy would have informed me of this possible side effect. Overall, everyone's body is different, but this pill really did not work for me. I will be stopping this pill tonight and going back to my old b.c. pill."

For Birth Control "This birth control has made me feel worse than I have ever felt before. The first few months were okay, I noticed a slight mood change, but after about 4 months, I noticed my anxiety and depression skyrocket, my hair is thinning, my cramps are much worse, and so much more. I truly do not recommend Vienva."

For Birth Control "The only good thing I can say is this pill lightened my periods so I wasn’t considered anemic anymore. It also helped a little with the severe cramping. However, the emotional toll was real, and I’ve been battling severe depression and anxiety since taking it, and after taking it every day, on time, for almost 8 months without missing one single day, I got pregnant, and now I’m about 35 weeks with a little boy."

For Birth Control "I took Vienva for a month, not my first time taking birth control pills, but I’ve taken other generics for more than a year. So I have quite a bit of experience with the pill. With that being said, I really don't like Vienva! By far, it has been the worst pill I have been on. I wake up and have great mornings, I would take my Vienva around 1 pm each day, and I swear the minute I took it, I felt so down and unmotivated. I've never felt such strong emotions on any other pill. It made me feel so depressed and unmotivated. I always had headaches too. Now I am spotting. I can’t wait to finish my pack and get onto a different one next month. It has been such a dreadful month."

For Birth Control "It's been an okay experience. But it has ultimately caused worsening depression and anxiety, unfortunately. I don't recommend this because."

For Birth Control "This pill made me bleed for 12 days straight. It didn't give me too much nausea, which was a plus, but I did feel very sad and depressed. Of course, this was my experience, everybody is different."

For Birth Control "I’ve taken a variety of birth control pills for the past 5 years or so. I have never really experienced side effects of any of them until Vienva. I haven’t gained weight since finishing puberty - staying around 105 lb - and have gained 15 pounds since being on this pill. My appetite is so huge, and I never feel full. Additionally, as someone who has also been lucky enough to never really have consistent acne (with the exception of one-off pimples), I have had absolutely horrible cheek acne since being on this pill and have spent hundreds of dollars on face washes, spot treatments, etc., to try and get rid of it. On top of it all, I am constantly tired and have lost all motivation for pretty much anything. The reason my OBGYN put me on this is because I asked for a low-hormone pill. Stay away from this!"
