"Wanted a low-dose oral BC after being off for about a year and a half. Was rx'd Sronyx from PP. I wanted low-dose because I've dealt with depression before. This pill made me absolutely crazy. I felt okay the first week, but I've never been more irritable, moody, and depressed. I've had anxiety and literally feel like another person. Can't wait for this to clear my system."

"I've been on the pill for about 2 weeks. So far, I have been spotting every single day and have been breaking out with pimples on my face. No sign of weight gain. Will keep y'all updated as I progress in my birth control journey."

"I have been on Sronyx for about a year now, and the only problems I ever had were the moodiness during the first two months and breakthrough bleeding for a month straight. Other than that, I love it. I have no intention of switching. I recommend it."

"I've been on the pill about 3 months. I switched from Nuvaring, which was a nightmare, so at first, I was glad there were way less strong side effects. However, I started birth control pills at 140 lbs. 3 months later, I now weigh 157. I am constantly bloated, and I want to eat like I'm pregnant all the time. I also experience extreme mood swings, which I'm sure are because of the pill (my boyfriend noticed too). My sex drive is almost nonexistent on top of severe vaginal dryness. I also have cramps every time I get up suddenly, which, although they are way less painful than the Nuvaring ones, they are constant. Let's just say I'm getting off this pill next month, and I'm definitely excited."

"I started on this almost a year ago. I noticed from the beginning my mood changed. I felt mad and annoyed more. But other than that, this is great! My period is never a surprise, and I'm not pregnant, so 10 stars."

"I have been on this birth control for about a year now. (I switched from Lo Loestrin because I was having bad side effects from that pill after being on it for 2 years.) I really do not recommend Sronyx at all. There are zero positives to this birth control besides the fact that it prevents pregnancy. To start, I get horrible mood swings and anxiety the week before my period all the way through to the end of my period. I get massive migraines during my placebo pill week to the point where I have to just go to bed because it hurts to even look at light. Then, in between my period and starting a new month of pills, I get a yeast infection from the hormone imbalance. Other negatives include drying out my vagina, which totally brings my sex drive down, bloating, and breaking out by my chin and jawline (which other reviews say also). Just overall bad. I can't wait to switch off of this one."

"Within the past year, I've swapped birth control 3 times. All in all, I must say the 2 years that I used Sronyx, I had 0 complaints! If I did gain weight, it was minimal, my periods came like clockwork, to the point I could almost gauge the hour it would start. I changed from it being ambitious in the hopes of not having to deal with something every day. Worst mistake ever."

"Was switched to this and had no problems at first. Then, after a few months, started having breakthrough bleeding between periods. Went back to the doctor, and he determined that there were not enough hormones in this birth control pill for me. This pill has a very low dose of hormones. I suppose if I could not find something better, then I would go back to this."

"I've been on Sronyx on and off for about 4 years. I like that it keeps my acne away, but my periods are very, very short and irregular. Like I get a 2-day period. I know some people wouldn't be complaining about that, but before this I had Paragard placed, and my periods were 10-12 days. It doesn't feel normal to only bleed for 2 days, I'd like at least 4 to be healthy. My hair also falls out a lot, and it makes my breasts swell to high heaven. Be careful if you have depression as well, mood swings can be random."

"I started using the pill for the first time 3 months ago due to terrible cramps, periods every 3 weeks lasting 7 days, extreme mood swings, and just overall miserable, painful periods. When I started on Sronyx, I had nausea with mild headaches for the first couple of days. After that, those symptoms went away. My periods still started on the 3rd week, so my periods lasted for 2 whole weeks. This happened for 3 months. I am switching to Seasonique because I need a heavier dosage. Had Sronyx been a little stronger, it would have worked well. My cramps were much more bearable, and the bleeding was less. Overall, it's a good pill, just not the one for me."

"I've been taking this birth control since I was 17, and it does work aside from a few side effects. It has been helping with my period, and I've, at one point, caused weight loss. But aside from that, it works better than the shot I used for 6 months."

"My clinic kept switching my pills about a year ago, claiming they were the same but just the generic kind. I was on Sronyx last year for about 6 months. It was fine at first, but then I began to get moody. Constantly angry all the time and was a complete witch to my boyfriend. I'm glad he stuck by me after what I had put him through. I gave this two stars because I did not get pregnant while on this, but the way it made me feel, I will never forget. I wasn't myself, and I'm glad I switched to something better!"

"I have been on these pills since May 2017, and I haven't had side effects, but I would tell you to take them on time every day because you will have breakthrough bleeding, and it can last from a few days to a few weeks. But one thing that I can say is that I have lost weight, and I don't have crazy cravings, no tender breasts, and no headaches. This has been my first time on BC, and I have had a great experience!!!!!"

"At first, I thought I loved this pill, the problem with it crept in so subtly I didn't notice it (very similar to a previous complaint I saw on here). I've never had issues with anxiety or depression before taking this. About 7 months into taking the pill, my anxiety skyrocketed, and I became increasingly depressed. Insomnia also became a consistent problem, and I seriously thought I was losing my mind. My relationship with my husband also suffered from these serious side effects as I became extremely moody and would cry for no reason and not understand why. My advice would be to seriously monitor how you feel while on this pill and note any changes in mood - because it definitely creeps in slowly."

"This birth control is awful. I was on it for 3 months, and now it's in the trash. My back hurt constantly, my breasts weren't just 'tender', they were painful, and it even hurt to gently touch them. My period came twice a month, and the cramps were awful. Even weirder, it made my nipples change color. They were first pink and then brown, which caused quite a panic for me since different colored nipples are a sign of pregnancy. After 5 negative tests and a doctor visit, they chalked it up to birth control. The only positive is that I didn't get pregnant."

"I've been on Sronyx for about 2 years now, and I love it. I trust this birth control, and it has decreased my blood flow during my period. I used to have extremely heavy blood flow and extreme fatigue during my period. After I started Sronyx, my period is light, and I don't cramp as badly as I used to. I did see a change in my mood, but I have managed to control it and not display the moods that I feel."

"I was switched to Sronyx about a year ago, and at first, I didn't notice any negative side effects... but about six months ago, my husband started to point out how mean I got when my period got closer. At first, I brushed it off as PMS, but it got worse each month. In high school, before I was on the pill, I never got cramps or had bad mood swings, but now I'm constantly doubled over from cramping, I get irritable, and I NEVER know when my period will actually start. And I would break out like crazy! (I have acne-ridden wedding pictures as proof). The only good thing is that I didn't get pregnant. I'm glad I'm starting a new pill next month."

"I've been on Sronyx for a little over a month, and the first two weeks I was a mess. I would cry over everything, it was hard for me to eat because of the nausea, and I was spotting. After that, even though I spotted for a better portion of the month, I was fine. My period was light, shorter, and less painful. I gained about three pounds in those two weeks, but I already lost it. It was a roller coaster, but I do recommend this pill just because it helps a boatload after the initial storm. Plus side, I'm also not pregnant, and my sex drive stayed the same."

"I'm getting married in 3 months and did not want to get pregnant before the wedding. Usually, I do family planning for birth control, and that has worked out great. But my fiancé and I have been having unprotected sex a lot, so I decided to go on the pill until the wedding. I started Sunday, and it has been a NIGHTMARE! I started crying about the smallest things, which is so abnormal for me. I have never been the emotional type. This began on Day 3. By Day 5, I was truly depressed and yelling at my fiancé because he fell asleep before I made it back from the store to help me with my bags. Day 6 is when I came to the realization and started reading about the side effects. For such a small pill, it does a lot of damage. Please do not take this."

"This pill is okay. But it causes severe cramping. And mood swings. Irritability and crying seem to be a big issue I couldn't deal with. I was hungry all the time. Severe abdominal bloating was associated. Not sure if it was water weight or what. But I eat well. Normally no sugar in my diet. Run 2 miles a day, 5 days a week, and a ton of water. But this pill made me gain weight. After 6 months, I got off and have switched to NuvaRing. I love it, no side effects this far."

"I took this birth control about 6 months, and I am very moody, and I cry over everything that happens to me. I get headaches very easily after I started taking these pills. Every time I had sex, it wasn't as good as it used to be, and now I've been off for over a month, and I am not moody, but I have one of the side effects of quitting birth control, which is I haven't gotten my period. I am very nervous about this as well."

"I was nervous to start this birth control because of all of the negative reviews. I've only been on it for about a week, and so far my stomach has felt quite uneasy, and I'm very tired. I've had these side effects with each hormone therapy I've tried at the beginning. So far, so good. I'll review again after I've been on it for a while. I think finding the right progesterone/estrogen combo is key. I was on Climara Pro for a while and loved it. It has the same progesterone as Sronyx."

"I tried birth control in college (Lo Estrin), and it was terrible. Mood changes made me act like a demon to my roommates, boobs grew, terrible nausea. Sronyx was recommended by my OBGYN, and I love it! I have gained a little weight and experience nausea from time to time, but otherwise, I don’t notice any side effects. Tried the generic Nutera, and it gave me headaches, so yeah, they are not the same, don’t let the pharmacist tell you otherwise!!"

"This medicine is absolutely terrible. After three months of using it, my hair has fallen out so much so that I can see my scalp very visibly, and it's very, very embarrassing. I stopped taking it and am now considering a copper IUD. No more hormones for me."

"At first, Sronyx birth control was okay. I had no symptoms the first week. The second week, my face broke out in cystic acne on my cheeks. I’ve been battling with trying to clear it up. It’s so ugly, and I’ve never broken out on my cheeks. Now it’s leaving scarring. To add insult to injury, it made me gain 5-7 lbs apparently. I’ve since then stopped taking it and am still dealing with the acne I had. But the only positive is that it made my period lighter and bearable. For once, in an entire year, I didn’t have to change my clothes a thousand times."
