"I started this pill about 8 months ago, and I blew up. I’ve gained at least 40 pounds, and not to mention it made my boobs grow out of nowhere. When I first started taking this pill, I was a 36C, and now I am a 40DD. I hate this pill. Because of all the weight gain, I can’t fit into my clothes, and it causes depression. The only reason I gave this pill a 2 was because I haven’t gotten pregnant, but the side effects are bad."

"I've been taking Sronyx for 2 weeks. Previously, I took Generess for 4 years. Loved it. Stopped because insurance will only cover the new generic version, and it caused irregular periods for me. The purpose for taking BC/Sronyx is to shorten and lighten my periods because of my anemia. So far, I have experienced the following side effects: - Bloat/weight gain (4 lbs) - Moodiness/irritability (severe) - Acne (I've NEVER had acne issues until now!) - Chest/side neck pain - Breast swelling/tenderness (for some reason, my right breast hurts more often) - Scalp/skin itchiness - Trouble wearing contacts (dry eyes, mild burning sensation at times). Overall: I do not recommend this BC. My body doesn't like it at all. Looking to switch immediately."

"I have been taking Sronyx for about a year now, and it's been pretty good to me. I am a bit more moody, and my appetite has increased a little with this pill (I've gained 10 pounds but managed to lose 5). But overall, this is a good pill. It cleared up my acne, and the appetite increase is manageable. I would recommend this pill."

"I've been using Sronyx for a few months now, and at first, I was iffy about it. I was super moody, my breasts were tender all of the time, and my nose, which hasn't bled in over three years prior to taking it, would bleed like crazy. However, as someone who has suffered from ungodly heavy and painful periods lasting the full seven days, this has been amazing. Cramps, while they still suck, aren't close to half as bad. My period usually lasts about five days and is so much lighter. My breasts are still super tender, but no more nosebleeds, moodiness is back to normal, and not so awful periods."

"I’ve been taking Sronyx for at least 3 months, and I do not like it at all. I’ve been spotting every day for over a month and have terrible mood swings. I go from 0 to 100 so fast, it’s embarrassing. I went from working out 3 times a week to barely making it through the day with any energy left. I will be switching to something better. The only pro is my breasts have gotten a little fuller. I’ll take being flat-chested over bleeding out any day."

"I went on this pill after being on the NuvaRing for several years, and I have never felt so depressed. My life is wonderful and relatively low stress, but everything seems like a hurdle while I'm taking this pill. Not to mention a severely decreased sex drive. I actually look forward to my period weeks when I don't have the hormones in my system! Definitely looking forward to going off this pill - almost a year of it and the only positive was not getting pregnant!"

"I've always had bad skin, but after 4 months on this pill, I had painful cystic acne all over my jawline. It didn't even look like acne, but I looked it up online and it was in fact hormonal acne brought on by birth control. I would also get terrible headaches the day my period started."

"I was switched automatically from Lutera to this Sronyx by my pharmacy 6 weeks ago. I’ve been on birth control on and off for 17 years and have two kids. This is not the same as Lutera, even though it is marketed with the same active ingredients. I’ve been on the pill 6 weeks, and I cannot have a good orgasm with my husband. We’ve tried everything, and the last 8 times it has been flat. This is the only thing that has changed in the past 6 weeks."

"The first 3 months on Sronyx were very difficult. I've now been on it for a year, and overall I don't like it. I have bad headaches once a month, my skin is always breaking out, and my overall mood is flat."

"I didn’t want the reviews to sway my opinion on this medication, so I decided to take it anyway. I’ve been on it for about a month, and I’m getting off of it tonight. I have OCD/anxiety, and nothing has ever made my depression and anxiety so bad. I have zero energy, and headaches every single day. I wake up several times throughout the night sweating and wake up almost every hour. As soon as I wake up, I get this overwhelming feeling of wanting to cry. I’m not an emotional person, but I’ve cried at least once every day on this pill from how miserable it’s made me. I lost 10 lbs, completely lost my appetite for a week, and was so dehydrated I had to go to the ER. I figured the pill must be the culprit due to the overwhelming amount of similar reviews, and I pray I feel back to normal after a couple of days. I’m never taking this pill again, you couldn’t pay me a million bucks to."

"I have only been on Sronyx for a week and a half, and I already feel as if I am gaining a large amount of weight. I took Aviane for a year prior (I was off birth control in between Aviane and Sronyx for about a year) and found that I lost weight on that pill. I'm wondering if weight gain is just an initial side effect of Sronyx and that I'll eventually go back to my normal weight?"

"I absolutely love Sronyx! I had a few issues with it for only the first few months: such as my acne was pretty bad at first, but it was probably because my hormones were starting to adjust to taking the birth control. After about a month or two, the acne had subsided, and now my face is clear! I also initially experienced a bit of weight gain, especially in my breasts. But with some working out at the gym and keeping my appetite at bay, all of that initial weight gain is now gone, and I am back to my normal size! My periods have been a breeze. I still experience some cramping, but it's not nearly as bad as before I went on birth control. My bleeding is also a LOT lighter, I no longer have to change my tampon every hour like I used to. The first few months are a little rocky, but don't give up on it after just a month or two. Just wait it out and allow your body some time to get used to this pill... it will be worth it!"

"I LOVED this birth control. I had absolutely no issues with it, and I would totally recommend it. But obviously, everyone’s body is different, so other people may have had horrible experiences, but it worked well for me."

"I've been on Sronyx for about 9 months now, and it's been an overall good experience. My acne level has stayed the same. My periods used to be heavy all the way through for 7-8 days, and now it's only 5-6, along with it becoming much lighter. The only downfall is I gained 10 pounds, which is very abnormal for me since I am very active. So far, I haven't gotten pregnant, but I didn't use a condom yesterday for the first time since I started using it, so we'll see how that goes! Overall, a good product!"

"I took this birth control for 3 years. I’m so glad I got off it. I can’t believe how stupid I was not to see the correlation between my destroyed relationships and erratic behavior and this pill. I trusted the medical industry so much and never even thought to ask my doctor about it. Even though I went ballistic and wanted to hurt myself regularly, I thought it was just my problem for some mystery reason, like “depression” or “still getting over a breakup!” because I’m a “woman”! If you’re behaving like you’re possessed or have any anxiety, it’s not you, it’s the pill. Since I stopped taking it, I haven’t had a single issue or anxiety attack or anything. Not only that, I started hearing music in my head again. Only once it came back did I realize it had been gone for so long. Never again."

"I have been on Sronyx for 5 months now. I had Mirena previously, which was a nightmare, but that's another story. Since I started this pill, I've had no problems or side effects until recently. I am now constantly bloated, with abdominal pain that varies, an upset stomach, and white vaginal discharge. I have no idea what has brought on these symptoms, but it is quite annoying. I have taken a pregnancy test just to rule out causes, and the test was negative. Overall, this medication does serve its purpose, and if there are no further problems, I will continue to use it."

"I have been on this birth control for about 2 years now. It has made me gain over 40 pounds and increased my acne when I am on placebo pills. I am constantly depressed and eating more than when I was on other birth control pills. I am bloated and constantly having pregnancy scares. I am currently having abdominal cramps and white discharge, I have lighter and lighter periods. I do not drink or smoke. It feels there are more side effects with this type of birth control, and I will take an at-home pregnancy test. Other than that, the next doctor's visit I will most likely change my birth control."

"Horrendous experience. I was on Orsythia for 8 years with no issues whatsoever. That was suddenly discontinued by the manufacturer one day this year (likely for financial reasons, as I can’t find anything about it being harmful), and I was given Sronyx. Since the day I started it, I have had daily abdominal pain severe enough not to hold food down and acne like I’m 18 again (I’m in my 30s). Disgusted at these pharma companies for just suddenly pulling a med without warning and claiming that these generic medications are exactly the same - based on these hundreds of reviews, it’s clear that the inactive makeup of the drugs does not all react the same in our bodies."

"I have been on Sronyx since giving birth for 6 months now. I noticed a crazy weight gain, my appetite has doubled, and my mood changes constantly. The good part is I have my period like a clock every month, lighter and for about 4-5 days."

"So I've been on this pill for 3 months, and I've noticed my acne getting really bad! I've never had acne before, and now it's so bad. Other than my acne being terrible, the pill has been great. I haven't had any bad symptoms besides the acne. Honestly, if you want to get on a birth control to help you with your acne, then this might not be the right one for you."

"I took this medication for 2 years and found little trouble with it. Occasionally, I would have longer periods, but more often than not, I wouldn't have one at all. On average, I'd say I had a period every 2 months, and every 4th period lasted for a week. I took this as an alternative to most birth controls, which were giving me migraines. This one only gave me a slight headache around the last couple of days of the inactive pills and the first couple of days starting a new month, but nothing too terrible."

"I have only been using this for a little while, and I constantly have bad headaches and drowsiness. This morning in the shower, I lost my vision and felt like I was going to pass out, so I think I'm going to stop taking these pills."

"I started this birth control when I was 17. I got it from a private clinic at my high school. I wanted to be protected and feel safe while having sex. However, the nurse did not warn me of the horrible side effects. A while after I started to get UTIs, something I never ever had before. That’s not the worst part. I started to have the worst anxiety ever. I was having anxiety attacks at night, insomnia, crying for no reason, loss of motivation. It was the worst stage in my life, I was going crazy. I even went to a therapist. I honestly believe that this birth control was causing all these mental problems. I have now stopped taking birth control. The side effects are not worth it, I feel so much better now that I went off it."

"Wanted a low-dose oral BC after being off for about a year and a half. Was rx'd Sronyx from PP. I wanted low-dose because I've dealt with depression before. This pill made me absolutely crazy. I felt okay the first week, but I've never been more irritable, moody, and depressed. I've had anxiety and literally feel like another person. Can't wait for this to clear my system."

"I recommend not taking this medication! I wake up in the middle of the night with nausea and vomiting, breast tenderness that hurts so bad, and also it raised my blood pressure. I had perfect blood pressure until I started taking this medicine. It makes me feel dizzy, I just didn't feel like myself at all."
