"Please do not take this contraceptive. It made me gain 25 pounds in 3 short months. I did not change my eating habits and had actually been burning more calories than before I started it. I constantly had a migraine and was stressed out and depressed. I knew I immediately needed to do something. At first, I thought that it was just my hormones not adjusting, but I have had more acne with this, headaches, and so much unbelievable weight gain. I do not recommend!"

"I have gained 10 pounds. Doesn't affect my mood, but does affect my sex drive a little. Went from a C cup to a double D. Sounds lovely, but my breasts hurt most days out of the week. I eat way more than I used to."

"I've been on Sronyx for 4 months now. Everybody has a different reaction to different birth control pills, but Sronyx is perfect for me. No bloating or weight gain, no breakouts, no mood swings, no period cramps at all (I previously had debilitating ones for several days out of the month). I know exactly when my period will start and end (used to be irregular), and best of all, no pregnancy! My breasts got slightly bigger and ached for about a month and a half. I did have breakthrough bleeding the first month I was on the pill, and the two times I've missed a pill and had to take 2 in one day, it did make me nauseous, but all those things are completely to be expected. Overall, this pill is perfect for me."

"I started taking this last month. Initially, I was taking Microgestin, but it was making me extremely moody and gave me acne. Then I switched to Sronyx, and my skin is clear again, and I hardly have any side effects. This is my second month on the pill, and it just seems like the side effects really do go away after 2 or 3 months. I love this pill, and I doubt I am switching. I have tried so many, including the Mirena. This is a good one."

"I have been on this pill for about 3 1/2 months. I only had breakthrough bleeding the first month, and I never experienced nausea. I had small headaches, but those didn't bother me. However, over the past 2 1/2 months, I have been the most depressed, fatigued, and angry I have ever been in my entire life. I don't want to do anything or see friends or family, and it only lessens when I'm on my placebo week, so I know this isn't a coincidence anymore."

"I have been taking this birth control for just over 6 months now. I am so ready to find a different one. I never had headaches until I started taking this pill. I experience them at least three times a week now. This pill has made me constantly crave sweet junk food. Hello, weight gain! I also have been extremely emotional. I feel depressed about everything, and I feel like crying more often than not. Not the pill for me!"

"Listen, do not take this pill, it literally is absolute, utter garbage. My breasts feel like they are getting Naruto kicked every day, my cramps are worse than before I took it, my periods are super irregular, it’s made my acne worse, and don’t even get me started on how this pill has made me actually psycho. If you have depression or anxiety, I don’t suggest taking this because it will make it so much worse."

"The only good thing I can say about this pill is that I haven't gotten pregnant on it. My acne has gotten three times worse. Off the pill, I usually got one or two cysts around the time of my period, which was annoying but manageable. Ever since taking Sronyx, I get one or two new cysts almost daily. My mood swings are insane. My period comes at the same time every month, which I would thank Sronyx for if it didn't make me start bleeding two weeks before my period every month (so I essentially have been bleeding for two and a half weeks every month on this pill). I've heard that breakthrough bleeding can be common within the first three cycles of starting a new pill...if it continues after this cycle (my fourth), I'll definitely switch BC."

"I've only been using this for a little while now, and I've already been having some side effects. One day, I'll be so mad, and then the next day, I just want to cry over everything. Also, I've been getting random painful headaches."

"I have used Sronyx for three months now. Have not changed my diet or exercise, and have gained about 8 lbs. I was on Loestrin for a year and a half but lost my health insurance. This is what the county health clinic gave me."

"This was my first time trying birth control (I’m in my 30s). The first month, I occasionally (not every single day) experienced nausea/queasiness in the mornings upon waking up. It would go away if I distracted myself with something. I’m in my third month of being on it now. I did gain 5-7 pounds over the past couple of months. No big deal - just need to exercise more often. Zero side effects otherwise! Sex drive high, no nausea, no mental side effects, absolutely love having no periods, drastic reduction in migraine frequency, overall ... this BC is fantastic in my experience. Give it a chance (and keep in mind ... any queasiness went away after the first few weeks)."

"I am 19 years old and have been on this birth control, Sronyx, for about two years. In the first 3 months, I gained 15 pounds, which has never happened in my life. I have always been an active athlete, so weight gain had never been a problem until then. Thankfully, it was all water weight, so I lost it all in about 2 weeks after working really hard at the gym. My periods are short (about 3 days) and light. However, this birth control has made me an emotional wreck. Anxiety, depression, paranoia, are all through the roof. I cry like 3 times a day for no reason. I have always been a healthy, happy-go-lucky girl, and this birth control has completely changed me for the worse. I am always in a horrible mood and forget what it's like to be genuinely happy. I am going to get this switched ASAP and hopefully, I will return to my normal self soon. I wish I hadn't taken it for so long. It took me a while to realize that it was my birth control causing these issues. I thought I was becoming actually depressed."

"I had been on Lo Seasonique before, and it was AMAZING. It cleared my skin and made me lose weight, so needless to say, I wasn't happy when the army clinic I had to go to didn't carry it. They gave me this and said it was just like my previous birth control, and it's NOT. I've gained almost 4 lbs in the first month, and it's given me such painful cramps. They keep me up at night and make me want to vomit, decreased sexual desire. The only upside is I'm not pregnant."

"I've been on Sronyx for about 4 weeks now. The 2nd week into it, I was extremely moody and emotional. I've always been physically active, but lately, it's made me lethargic. It definitely increased my appetite, and now that I'm on my fourth week, I'm extremely bloated."

"Before taking Sronyx, I used to take Loestrin 24 FE, and I had no problems with that. I enjoyed it. My doctor prescribed me Sronyx recently, and as soon as I took this BC, I gained about 5 lbs the first month, even though I exercise for almost 2 hours, 4-5 times a week, and my appetite has increased. I have never felt so hungry to the point where I feel like I'm going to snap! My stomach growls also from so much hunger, even though I ate 1-2 hours before! This pill made me so irritable and angry at everyone around me! I hate this pill. I am switching!"

"My experience with this pill is good and bad. After reading everyone's comments, I realize that I am more moody and tired. I also want to cry over the smallest things. I too have lost 15 lbs on this pill (weight I could not afford to lose, by the way), and my appetite has severely dropped. But my periods are on the exact day every month, and my acne is gone except for the week of my period."

"If new to this birth control, do not continue to take it. I am a healthy 20-year-old girl, and this birth control has made me feel terrible. To start, I have been on Lutera (0.1 mg of levonorgestrel and 0.02 mg of ethinyl estradiol) for 3 years now, and one day the pharmacist decided to change me to the generic Sronyx (0.1 mg levonorgestrel and 0.02 mg ethinyl estradiol) in September because they were out of Lutera. They are supposed to be the same thing, but I can't believe that. I will never go back on this birth control because of the terrible cystic acne and the terrible side effects of depression and anxiety. When I started to take it, oh my goodness, I had anxiety to the point that I would break down in tears and cry every time I woke up, and I didn't sleep well while being on this medicine. Not to mention I have never had depression in my life, and now I am still struggling to get myself out of the depression stage because of this medicine. I am hoping to feel like myself again sometime soon because I cannot tell you how upset this makes me feel. If you struggle with depression or bad anxiety, stay away from this medicine because it will make everything so much worse."

"I've been using Sronyx for 11 years now, and I wouldn't use any other BC pill. Short, light periods are great (3 days max). I've never had any pregnancy scares. Weight gain was minimal (maybe 5 lbs), and I think it actually cleared up my acne, or it's because I was getting older. On other pills, I would be EXTREMELY moody, but not on Sronyx (maybe just one day before my period, but I think that is normal PMS). Highly recommended."

"Took this a while back, it was okay. I just wanted to regulate my cycle. When it did, I got off for a while. My hormones are out of whack again, so I started them again. I have mid-back-length hair, and it's pretty healthy. I washed my hair since taking these and noticed tremendous hair loss. Not good!"

"I had never taken any type of birth control until I met my fiancée. I was on Implanon for almost 11 months, and I hated it! I had all the side effects that came with it, plus my period for all those months non-stop, and to say I almost ruined my relationship. To top it off, I got an infection from using tampons all the time. Anyway, today is my 5th day taking Sronyx, and I already feel great, no side effects whatsoever. I'm happy again without any mood swings. I really recommend this pill."

"I love this BC because it is a low dose. I have not had any negative side effects other than my face wasn't as clear, but it wasn't awful breakouts either. My periods have always been 2-4 days and very regular. I have not had any breast pains or cramping. But everyone is different. I would recommend trying this out, I have been on this for almost 3 years, and I will say if you are switching from a higher dose, then this will be a bumpy transition, but it will fix itself when your hormones get adjusted (I'd say about 2 months, or 2 period cycles). Like I said, it may work for some but not everyone."

"It is my first time taking birth control. That's why I was a bit nervous about how my body would react. I'm still in the first three months, second to be exact. (My doctor told me that the body needs about 3 months to adapt.) I didn't feel any significant changes. Nothing too different from my regular PMS. No weight gain. No nausea. No mood changes. Of course, my period was way shorter and less painful. My boobs became bigger (not a lot, but still). I got way more pimples before my period than usual, but my face cleared out after that. I always try to eat something or have a snack before I take the pill and take it at the same time every day. Overall, I think it's a good choice. P.S. Everyone's body is different, so you might react differently. But I suggest you try it out."

"The first time I started using birth control, I started on a different pill, which I can't remember the name of, but stopped after the second month due to crazy mood swings and worse cramps during my period. When I went back to the doctor, I got prescribed Sronyx, and I have been using it for three months now, and I have yet to experience a bad side effect. I love this pill! I highly recommend it. No headaches, cramps, or mood swings."

"I have been using Sronyx for just about 3 months now, and I am definitely not too fond of it. It makes me extremely moody. I get mad easily, and at times I feel like I just want to cry for just about anything. Because of this, it messed up my relationship quite a bit, and I have absolutely no desire to keep taking it. I'm going to keep at it for a little while longer to see if I get any better and to see if the side effects go away."

"I recommend not taking this medication! I wake up in the middle of the night with nausea and vomiting, breast tenderness that hurts so bad, and also it raised my blood pressure. I had perfect blood pressure until I started taking this medicine. It makes me feel dizzy, I just didn't feel like myself at all."
