For Birth Control "This is probably the worst birth control. When I first started, I got my period for a week and a half straight, and I experienced really bad mood changes. I noticed I became sad very often and on most days when I’m usually a very optimistic and happy person. I also experienced a lot of bloating."

For Birth Control "I've been on Larissia for about 6 months now. I have gained weight, and I've noticed a drastic difference in my mood. I have always been a happy person, but while taking this, I feel sad most days, for absolutely no reason!"

For Birth Control "At 44 years old, I've never had an adverse response to BC. I was switched to Larissia for decreased hormones. One week in, I was unable to sleep at night. Felt anxious in the evenings... which is extremely unusual. Third week in, I developed a strange rash below and had an extremely upset GI system, diarrhea included. Could not understand what was going on. Referred to the symptoms pamphlet and began to connect dots. First day on the second pack was yesterday. The upset belly became so unbearable and itchiness below has made me call in to work today (as well as diarrhea). I just feel all 'off'. Luckily, my husband has a vasectomy. I will not be taking BC for this month. I will request my old brand. Perimenopausal symptoms had me back on BC... but I would rather have those symptoms vs. side effects from Larissia. I don't want to even try to give it longer. When I was younger, I may have tried one more month, but I've tried a variety in my life to know this one just doesn't feel right for me."

For Birth Control "Prior to Larissa, I experienced incredibly painful, heavy, and irregular periods. I wasn't able to eat, as my cramps were so bad I'd throw up everything I ate. I'd bleed through a super tampon and a heavy pad within 2 hours. For the first few, my periods were still somewhat irregular and heavy-this is typical, though, birth control doesn't magically fix all your problems from day 1, it takes a couple of months to regulate. Now, though, my periods are light, I can predict when they come, and when I do have cramps, some acetaminophen or ibuprofen usually takes care of it. I have not gotten pregnant on Larissa, without the supplementation of any other forms of contraceptive, though I am very religious in properly taking the pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on Larissa for almost four years now after switching from another higher dose of estrogen. My doctor put me on this because she thought it would make my cramps lighter, etc. I have been bloated and gained 30 pounds and look pregnant all the time! I recently developed hives and a horrible allergic reaction. I had tons of tests done, and my doctor couldn’t figure out what it was from. Little did I know I was slowly poisoning my body with this tiny pill every day for four years. I am finally saying goodbye to this horrible thing and hoping my life will get back on track. The symptoms got worse as the years went by: back pain, nausea, abdominal pain, bloating, and headaches. This isn’t worth it!"

For Birth Control "Upset my insurance didn't cover my other brand birth control pills, so with the pharmacy, they chose this generic pill, LARISSIA. Do not take it. I have been on this for less than 6 months and had a knee injury. Less than 3 weeks after that, I had a blood clot: DVT (deep vein thrombosis), which could have caused a pulmonary embolism (can be fatal). Luckily, I told my doc my symptoms of redness and swelling below the injured knee. They ordered an ultrasound, and a DVT was found. I am on blood thinners now. I was recommended to be on low dose/low estrogen birth control pills to help out with very bad periods. I'm a 52-year-old healthy, active woman. I worked out, non-smoker, with low BP. I have previously traveled a lot by car and plane, NEVER having an issue. If you have an injury, or must be on bed rest, or drive long distances, or travel and fly a long flight, or sit for long periods, then your risks are even greater. I have no history ever of blood clotting, have delivered 3 babies and had 1 surgery, 2 LT bed rest, been on and off birth control pills for years, and all of this happened within the first month of Larissia use. Good luck, stay healthy, and DVT FREE."

For Birth Control "Larissia and Vienva have been the absolute worst birth controls I have ever taken. I was on Vienva for 3 months a couple of years ago and had to switch to another birth control from the horrible side effects. Recently, my doctor put me on Larissia, and the side effects seem like they've been amplified tenfold. Minor inconveniences make me angry, I'm having depressed thoughts multiple times per day, my chest hurts so much that it's hard to breathe, constant fatigue, and horrible acne breakouts. I would highly suggest taking literally any other birth control besides one with levonorgestrel in it."

For Birth Control "I was first on the patch, and I got switched to Larissia because the hormone levels in the patch were too strong. My experience for the first week wasn't bad. I just noticed that I did get a bit more sensitive, but nothing I can't control. My acne did get better. All the side effects weren't so strong. I would recommend it for anyone else."

For Birth Control "Since I started Larissia, I have been a completely different person. I have had horrible angry outbursts, severe depression, and awful mood swings. I am someone that's diagnosed with depression, so this is just my personal experience, but I feel like this medicine amplified that. I was taking a different brand of this medication before, Lutera, and I was fine, but my pharmacy changed it to this one. I have also experienced nausea almost every single day after taking it. The first few weeks, my stomach was completely torn up. I had severe constipation, and I couldn't eat anything. I never have constipation problems. I still am having digestive issues, which is so weird for me. I will say I'm not getting the PMS symptoms I normally get. As for everything else though, the mental issues are making this absolutely unbearable for me, and I am getting off of this medication as soon as I finish this pack."

For Birth Control "I started Larissa 2 months ago and recently stopped because the side effects are horrible. The first two weeks I had horrible mood swings and was very depressed. It made my cramps more painful and my acne much worse, to the point where I’m breaking out all over my face and have no more self-confidence. I do NOT recommend."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy randomly switched me to Larissia. I’ve been taking it for 3 months. Within these 3 months, I’ve been breaking out like crazy (generally pretty clear skin), got canker sores (never get them), have had awful mood swings and hormone imbalances, my face has been swollen, and during my last couple of periods I’ve had cramps (which is the whole reason I started birth control so long ago). I’m actually livid at this brand, company, and my pharmacy for randomly switching me to this stuff. At first, I thought it was cute since the brand on the box is my name, but it’s the worst birth control I’ve ever been on. Not even worth a 1/10."

For Birth Control "I was shocked to see how many bad experiences people have had on Larissia. For the most part, I have had minimal symptoms. The first few weeks/adjustment period to the hormones was awful, and I experienced a lot of random irritation, anger, mood swings, and awful depression. I was feeling extremely hesitant to continue taking it, but since the first few weeks, I've had no symptoms other than occasional mood swings every now and then, and I think my boobs got a little bigger. Overall, I'd recommend, but it clearly differs a lot from person to person."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this for almost two months. It's the first birth control I have ever taken, and I haven’t seen any noticeable side effects to it besides a decrease in sex drive, but I wouldn’t completely say it was the pill. I was worried about side effects, but this works well with my body, and I hope it does the same for you!"

For Birth Control "Originally, I started the Larissia birth control in 2018. I stopped taking it because I wasn’t having sex, and I gained 20 pounds, plus having the worst side effects. I started taking it again and have been on Larissia since the end of January. My periods are regular, but I have very light bleeding. But I’ve also gained another 20 pounds. I’m super bloated when I eat and feel nauseous and moody a lot. So far, this birth control has been great for not getting pregnant, but the side effects are terrible."

For Birth Control "This is crazy. I thought I was tripping. I decided to get back on birth control after Depo in November, and I haven’t gotten the shot since. My OB/GYN asked me what I had in mind. I told her I want something that’s undetectable, no NuvaRing, and definitely no IUDs (Mirena). I had very bad migraines as a result. So she said, "I can prescribe you some birth control pills that will work just as good as Depo, but it may make you nauseous." She asked, "Do I smoke?" I don’t. She says, "You're good, you won’t have to worry about blood clots." She sends it to the pharmacy, the brand is Larissa 28. I take it the following morning, and shortly after I start feeling cramps out of nowhere, striking painful cramps. I think of it as nothing. I ate lunch. Later on, I got so itchy, and it felt like something was on my legs. It’s nothing. I showered. I had a sudden migraine, it lasted all evening and night. On top of that, as I was trying to fall asleep, I felt my heart pulsating, beats, minor chest pain, and nausea. I won't be continuing, it isn't worth your health."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larissa about three months ago, and it’s horrible. I have constant headaches, I have severe anxiety, and I’m extremely fatigued and can’t seem to get out of bed. I’ve been on different birth controls for years now and am considering taking a break because the side effects are not worth it. I do not recommend this birth control at all, as it’s made me feel horrible and uncontrollable."

For Birth Control "Been on it for almost 3 years and have not had a bad experience! I do think it helped with acne a little, although I still get the occasional zit, especially around my period. I don’t think I’ve gained any weight because of it, and it’s made my periods super light! Seriously, I only use the small size tampons and panty liners now! I still get cramps and mood swings around the start of my period, but this was something I dealt with before going on the pill. As for my sex drive, I do feel it’s a bit lower, but I’ve been on the pill so long that I really can’t remember! Finally, my partner and I never use condoms, and I’ve never had a problem or a scare. My cycles are generally consistent as well. Overall, a good experience compared to some horror stories I have heard."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Larissia for almost 9 months now. I am so glad I’m finally going to switch birth control. I came onto this website to see if everyone else that took this medication had the same side effects as me. They do. I have been going through depressive episodes, gone through eating everything in sight because I had cravings (which I never had a problem with at all). I’ve gained 20 pounds even though I am a college swimmer. I have fatigue episodes even though I am having so much fun and happy, and I haven’t felt like myself during this time. I’m so done with this medicine. I didn’t take caution until now because my doctor said it might take 3-6 months for my body to get used to the hormones since I haven’t been on birth control before. I should’ve switched a long time ago. I would never recommend this to any person that wishes to take birth control."

For Birth Control "I just started taking these for only a few weeks. I have been on my period for 14 days because of this pill. I've had major headaches, sudden sharp pains in my stomach, I've felt weak and not wanting to get out of bed. Seriously, don't take these pills, they're awful."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larissia after being on the generic version of Yaz for 6 months (which was great but too many risks for blood clots and destroyed my sex drive). Immediately after taking Larissia, I felt extreme fatigue. I’m a morning person and never have any issue waking up in the morning feeling refreshed; but every day that wasn’t a period day on Larissia has been extremely difficult. It also triggered my IBS symptoms, and I experienced some hair loss in the first two months. Also, even before birth control, I didn’t really have a ton of issues with acne, but now I have horrible hormonal whiteheads on my chin and around my nose and lips (which stop and completely go away during the period week). I’ll give it one more month to try to normalize. It does work for me in terms of controlling hormonal mood swings, and I have more of a sex drive than I did on Yaz."

For Birth Control "WORST BIRTH CONTROL ever! I was using Sronyx, and for some unknown reason, they switched me to the generic Larissia, and not even a month after I started, I began to break out. I was a person who, not even on my period, would break out for nothing. I went from that to my cheeks and my chin covered in huge bumps that hurt like crazy. I couldn't even wash my face without feeling pain. In the second month, my period lasted 3 days with the worst cramps EVER!! I know everyone reacts differently, but most reviews say the same as what I experienced. So I suggest not to try this, it will mess up your face!!"

For Birth Control "I had been on this pill for years and dealt with anger, weight gain, acne, back pain, and headaches. I stopped it and switched to another pill that kept me in the bathroom all the time, so I decided to switch back to Larissia, and that’s when I noticed how much it actually changes me. I am so angry and can’t even stand myself. After reading these reviews, I’m quitting it. Not worth the hassle, can’t lose weight at all, either always bloated, literally makes me think I’m crazy!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time taking birth control pills, and this has been the WORST experience EVER!!! Spotting for 2 weeks, followed by an extremely heavy period with the biggest blood clots I've ever seen!! In addition, I've had migraines, bloating, canker sores (which I've never had in my entire 40 years of life), horrible cramping, and mood swings!!! I got on BC to avoid having a period because of my anemia, and yet on this pill, I've been spotting/bleeding for 3 weeks now!! Worst medicine EVER!! Will be discontinuing IMMEDIATELY!!!!!"

For Birth Control "I was originally on Orsythia for 3 years and never had any issues. My new doctor put me on this since they are both generics. My experience has been absolutely awful. I have had the worst acid reflux/indigestion, and I have never had these issues before starting this birth control. It has also caused me to be nauseated 24/7, which causes me to vomit. I would not recommend this to anyone."
