For Birth Control "Started this because I struggle with cramps and mood swings during my periods, but this pill was 10 times worse. Definitely be careful if you already have mental health struggles— I have bipolar disorder, and this pill made me more depressed than I'd been in years, and I was almost hospitalized multiple times. I already get migraines, but they got much more severe, and the nausea was constant. I couldn’t eat anything without feeling awful. Other fun side effects have included digestion issues and constant bloating, getting acne for the first time in my life, gaining weight consistently, breasts growing in size, breast tenderness, and periods that became even more painful and irregular than when I started. Not to mention, I feel awful self-esteem-wise and have grown to hate my appearance. I’m glad this works for some people, but I will be getting off of it as soon as possible!!"

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I've ever been on, so I can't compare it to other contraceptives, but I can share my experience with anyone willing to read. Larissa overall hasn't got rid of me yet, so that's a plus. I did notice my mood started to shift irregularly. I do have ADHD, so this might just be a me thing, but I go from happy to mental breakdown on the floor so quick, and then I'm totally fine. This only really started after I began taking this medicine. My acne did decrease, but I also noticed a significant change in weight. I'm now about 15 pounds heavier than I was before I started Larissa. I honestly might switch medications, but then again side effects are different for everyone."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on it for two months, so I’m quite new to it, but overall it’s been working well. I have gained a little bit of weight, but I think that it’s mainly just water weight. Also, one thing I was worried about going into this was it causing or worsening depression. I already have depression, and I didn’t want it to get worse, so I was taking a risk, but I’ve been completely fine. I’ve actually had my mood under better control in a way. I am more calm. I like it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Larissia to help with my unbearable period cramps, which I’ve been putting up with for years. I’ve always been hesitant to start birth control, fearful of the side effects, but I had very minor side effects with this one. During my first month, while my body was adjusting, I developed an allergic reaction to all my makeup, but after going makeup-free for a month, I was fine and can wear all my same products again. The worst of it was minor weight gain (about 5 pounds) and night sweats. My gyno is switching me to up my estrogen to help with that, but other than that, happy with Larissia! Really helped me with my cramps, which is why I started it."

For Birth Control "I came on this website to see if anyone else was experiencing the same things. They are. I have been on Larissia for two years now. This was the first birth control I ever took. When I first started taking it, I remember it gave me severe cramps! But all was good after I took it for a few months because I no longer had periods. Then I started developing side effects of severe headaches, horrendous acne on my face and back, nausea all the time, light sensitivity to the point of many passing out spells, poor circulation in my hands and feet to the point of no feeling, vision loss, loss of appetite, severe sensitivity in my breasts, weight loss and gain, horrendous mood swings, horrible anxiety, always feeling confused, and many more. Don’t take this birth control! It’s not worth it. I’m in the stage right now of not taking it, trying to get back to normal."

For Birth Control "I took Larissia as my very first birth control in Jan. I had really bad dizziness/motion sickness to where everything would be “swimming” around me for the first two months. It would happen randomly whether sitting or moving around. I mentioned it to my gyno, but she said she’s never heard of the dizziness as a symptom before and to continue to take it so my body gets used to it. The dizziness did eventually go down, but it was still prevalent in some motions (bending up and down frequently, or moving head side to side too much). I think I had a hard time losing weight on it as well, as I eventually gained back some weight I lost before taking it, and couldn’t lose anything even on an appetite suppressant and exercise. Sex drive was definitely down, and my anxiety would get bad at times. Otherwise, I felt confident in its ability to prevent pregnancy, never had a scare. Periods were light and only 3-4 days."

For Birth Control "This birth control, Larissia, is giving me so many side effects. My stomach has been cramping, my body has been sore, and weight gain. I have been taking these pills for almost a year now."

For Birth Control "I would not recommend. Not only have I gained weight, I started breakthrough bleeding in the middle of taking these pills. Along with cramps, mood swings, the whole works."

For Birth Control "I personally did not like Larissia. I was on the same birth control for years (Falmina), and it was amazing. I switched to Larissia because of switching pharmacies. My experience was weight gain, acne, and mood swings. Larissia and Falmina are similar, but obviously something was way different in Larissia that made me react that way. I have switched back to my old birth control."
