For Birth Control "Pretty awesome! I had been on this birth control for almost three months but had stopped taking it since I broke off a relationship and no longer needed them. I was scared to try taking birth control since the previous one had really messed with me emotionally and physically. I had been on the Nuvaring. I did my research and found that Alesse had the best reviews, and Aviane is the generic for Alesse. At first, I had a bit of anxiety, fatigue and restlessness but after the first couple days or the first week my body quickly adjusted. I hadn't noticed anything abnormal about my periods and I had less cramps. I used to get irregular periods but while on Aviane I knew exactly when I'd get them. I have nothing bad to say about Aviane."

For Birth Control "Was on Aviane for a year with no problem, switched to Ortho for 3 months and gained weight, got acne, and my sex drive DIED. Back on Aviane for 3 days now and can already tell things are getting better. In my initial experience with Aviane, I felt a bit nauseous at times after taking the pill for the first couple months, but that went away. I didn't really gain weight, and didn't find it hard to drop some weight when I started a workout regimen. My skin was clear, sex drive great, maybe a little more emotional around period time but nothing out of control, really helped with cramps, and had a predictable and short/light period. I even skipped a period once on Aviane because of a vacation and had no side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for 11 days now, starting the 1st pill in the pack the first day my period started (Sunday). I've now had my period a full 11 days and it's starting to get really annoying. My sex drive has decreased a bit, I have vaginal itching, burning and redness, and I find myself becoming frequently dizzy. My breasts have become extra sensitive and seem much fuller than normal, my acne/ clearing of face seems the same as before taking the pill, but my mood swings have been the worst. One moment I want to cry, the next moment I'm cheerful and happy towards everyone. "

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for 3 months now, and I must say I have absolutely 'No' complaints, no weight gain, no mood swings, no dryness, and on the positive side, my moderate acne flares have greatly reduced, my face is less oily, and I have just about 2 new breakouts when on the placebo pills, unlike having a full blown breakout during my periods, I am very happy with this pill."

For Birth Control "Aviane made be feel excessively fatigued, and I still got the migraines. However, I started feeling nauseous, which is extremely uncommon for me. I decided to try to stick it out for three months to see if my body would adjust, but after a month and a half, I started vomiting and having such terrible nausea that it interfered with my daily life. I decided to quit this pill midpack because it was having such awful effects on me (in addition to getting sick, my heart was racing and I was very OCD). Last night, a few hours after the first dose I missed, I started having stressed breathing like I was having a panic attack, and I had to lay completely still on a couch for hours waiting for the nausea to subside."

For Birth Control "Though I have only been on Aviane for a week, I just wanted to say that it's great! My breasts got bigger within a day or two of starting the pill. They're a bit sore but it's nothing horrible. I have occasional cramps but they are infrequent and only last a few seconds. I have noticed that I am hungry a lot more often but the key to not gaining weight on birth control is to not give in to the increased tummy rumbles. I had a little bit of stomach bloating the first three or so days of starting the pill but it's subsided now. One more huge benefit I've noticed is that within a day of taking the pill, my mood did a complete 180. I have noticed that, since staring Aviane, I am a lot happier and optimistic. It's great! I highly recommend this pill!"

For Birth Control "IF I COULD GIVE AVIANE A ZERO I SOOO WOULD. I had the best skin before I took this... beautiful skin and I am not exaggerating this stuff made me break out to THE MAX. I now have severe acne and have had it for months now, it’s so bad that I don’t wanna go anywhere. I went to the dermatologist and I’m now on antibiotics and prescribed medicine to PUT on my face. This is TERRIBLE I would tell NO GIRL/WOMAN to EVER EVER take this birth control"

For Birth Control "THIS WAS THE WORST BURTH CONTROL I HAVE EVER BEEN ON. I am honestly stopping birth control because this stuff gave me the worst mental breakdown of my life. I stopped taking it and immediately started bleeding after, I have gotten acne where I have never had it before and I have had the worst flare up of BV in my life.... not even antibiotics helped. Now I suffer from severe cramps and stuff and this made things worse.... I have never been laid out in bed because of cramps before this medication.... 100% DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!!"

For Birth Control "Been on this pill for about 3 years. All of my symptoms that I got when I first started this pill went away after 3 months. Now my period is like clock work. I know exactly when it will come. It works to purposely skip my period (skip placebo pills and just started the next pack right away) it worked well to not get a period until I had the placebos again. (my doctor recommended that I don’t skip more then three period in a row) I’ve really enjoyed this pill but it’s the only one I’ve ever used. I’m not giving it a ten because I did have some emotional few first months when I started."

For Birth Control "By far the best birth control I've ever had. I tried 2 before and they didn't work for me. They made me gain weight and didn't even help with my period which is one of the major reasons why I got on birth control. When I first started this, it gave me major mood swings but after about 2 weeks it stopped. That was the only bad part. While on it for only 2 months I lost about 15 pounds and it helped so much with my periods. They are light, short, and I have barely any cramping. It's also cheap."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for 13 years. I don't experience a single negative symptom and the few times over the many years I've missed a month (due to vacationing and forgetting my birth control pack at home), my cramps are significant. On the pill, I don't experience cramps, weight gain, mood swings, or...anything. Off the pill...I get cramps during my cycle. This bc works very well with my system."

For Birth Control "My only complaint is that my period has NOT ended and I'm on day 11. Who wants to bleed for 11 days and counting?! I'm going to my OB/GYN this week and will ask her to switch the pill. I haven't had any other side effects; no cramps, no weight gain, no acne, just abnormal lengthy bleeding."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this Aviane birth control for 8 months now and it’s made my PMS symptoms and depression soooo bad. Like a week before my period I feel like I’m going insane. I feel like every month it makes it worse and worse. Honestly I don’t think I can take this pill anymore it’s wrecking my mind. It always made me gain weight and my boobs are sore 24/7."

For Birth Control "After my last two birth control experiences (Yaz made me a nightmare and Loestrin 24Fe gave me a rash and hives), this is a welcome change. I've had no problems since I started this pill. My mood is even and my periods are fine. I'm glad I finally found one that works for me!"

For Birth Control "I'm 23, taking for 3 months. I take my pill every day at the same time/no missed doses. I don't consume the pills during the placebo week. Pros: Not pregnant. Acne has improved. Still get a few blind pimples on the placebo week though. No longer experience ovulation pain related to cysts. No weight gain. The only thing I've noticed is that my breasts went up about 1/2 cup size, but I had minimal soreness, if any. My period is very light/no cramping. No hair loss/oiliness, normal sex drive, no yeast infections (my doctor rec. taking a probiotic), no migraines, no breakthrough bleeding. No signs of any of the more serious side effects like blood clots etc. Cons: On the first few days of the placebo week, I experience some depression and anxiety. I do have a history of these issues though, so that may be a factor. Some moodiness. I don't get as "wet" during sex. Some fatigue in the first month. In weighing the pros and cons, I'm moderately satisfied taking the pill."

For Birth Control "Hasn't caused me to gain any weight. I've had less cramping with periods as well as lighter periods. The only negative side effect I've noticed is I feel a bit more moody/emotional during my periods, other than that it's fantastic. Probably the best birth control method I've used."

For Birth Control "Don't know if this BC works, I just recently started it and right away I noticed a lot of acne. I have also been gaining a lot of weight and FAST. I don't know if all these 10/10, perfectly written reviews are real, seems like they're too good to be, yet everyone I talk to has issues with this birth control. One of my friends even got cysts as a result of taking this and I've just heard a lot of bad things - now I'm experiencing them first hand. I stopped taking this BC today, I don't recommend it."

For Birth Control "ive been on this pill for 2 months now and I'm growing to like it. During the first month, I experienced the side effects (as expected). My breasts were very swollen and VERY tender. I had to buy new bras to handle the pain. I had one day of nausea and never had issues with it again. I had migraines on and off throughout the first month and they have gone away. Periods are much shorter, lighter, and much less painful. I have had bare sex on this pill and have not seen any signs of pregnancy. It made my face break out during the first month, however, on month 2 my skin looked WAY better. After about 3 months of taking the pill all side effects seem to subside!"

For Birth Control "Overall, Aviane works pretty well. My periods are average and I have had no weight loss or gain. The one side effect I have had is terrible acne! My face was pretty much clear when I started (I'd get minor breakouts around my period, but nothing bad). Within a couple of months of being on Aviane, my cheeks started breaking out really badly. I've never even had acne on my cheeks. It's painful and there's scarring. I've tried staying on it in hopes that my body would adjust and the breakouts would stop, but they've only gotten worse. "

For Birth Control "I was on Aviane for 2 months. I did not notice any change in my weight or appetite. The only negative side effect I noticed was my emotional state. Exactly a week before my period I was on an emotional roller-coaster. I could be happy, crying, angry all in a 20 minute period. I knew that I could not live like that a week and a half out of the month."

For Birth Control "Amazing! It broke me out the first two months, but by now, at month six, my skin has been completely clear. I use to struggle with PMDD, which gave me really bad depression around my period. Now, I feel so much more stable and my depression and mood swings are gone. No weight gain, I actually lost a few pounds. No bad side effects at all! Would recommend this to anyone if you're looking for birth control with only positive side effects. And of course, I have not gotten pregnant."

For Birth Control "This was my first ever birth control, and so far the experience has been great, no pregnancy scares or anything, less cramps and less mood swings shockingly. I completely recommend it as a birth control, since it does the job and really doesn't have very many side affects"

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for about 4 years now. I was fist put on it to regulate my period because I would go without having a period for as long as 3-5 months. I went to my doctor and was told it sounded like I had polycystic ovarian syndrome. Aviane made my periods regular but very light. They are only three days long. I don't know if that would be considered a side effect but it is what I'm used to. I gained a little bit of weight after starting Aviane, but not very much. I get emotional the week of my period but nothing too extreme. Overall, I am happy with it, and don't see a reason to change brands."

For Ovarian Cysts "For four months, I have suffered from constant cramps, 24/7. My doctor finally took an ultrasound and found two very large cysts. One was filled with blood. He explained to me this is why I am in so much pain. I also have been experiencing other symptoms. Thinning hair, low back pain/throbbing, nausea, ill feeling, facial hair, etc., etc. I went back in and he finally put me on birth control pills. I am 37 and taking birth control pills for the first time. I am almost two weeks into taking them and to my relief I have not suffered any bad side effects, but it's still early. I can only hope that this is a good sign. And I can only hope that my pain will subside and my cysts will dissolve. I have my fingers crossed. Wish me luck!"

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "My periods were fine. I was ovulating, had normal blood flow, slightly heavy cramps. I started this pill for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome symptoms. While it did clear up my skin a little, it has made me borderline suicidal. Within 3 days I started hating people, crying at the drop of a hat, becoming irrationally angry, entertaining thoughts of suicide and becoming severely depressed. I would be losing weight since I have no appetite, except I'm so bloated it doesn't matter. "
