For Birth Control "Amazing! It broke me out the first two months, but by now, at month six, my skin has been completely clear. I used to struggle with PMDD, which gave me really bad depression around my period. Now, I feel so much more stable and my depression and mood swings are gone. No weight gain, I actually lost a few pounds. No bad side effects at all! Would recommend this to anyone if you're looking for birth control with only positive side effects. And of course, I have not gotten pregnant."

For Birth Control "I absolutely LOVE this pill. I have been through a lot of rough patches with my health, involving ovarian cysts, hirsutism, hormonal cystic acne, and painful and heavy periods. When I first tried birth control in college, I was put on Aviane. It cleared up my skin to porcelain-like results within the first month. It regulated my cycle like clockwork, helped me shed unwanted weight, improved my sex drive, and even increased my breast size (bonus) from a small 34B to a full 34D cup. I am 5'4" and 130 pounds, so this effect only helped my self-esteem! I went off Aviane a few years later after my gyno took out two cysts in 2012, and since then I tried about 6 other pills, from Yaz to Sprintec to Lutera. NOTHING compares to Aviane!"

For Birth Control "I'm 20. After reading such terrible reviews, I was nervous about taking this pill. Quite honestly, it's a good brand. I'm just about to start the 3rd pack. I've encountered no 'horrible' side effects! No mood swings, no headaches, etc. The pill actually helped clear my skin. (I've had adult acne.) The only effect I felt was very mild nausea. (Sea Bands helped suppress it.) Also, light 'period.' Cramps were little to none. Lasted exactly 7 days, arrived just on time. Helped prevent pregnancy despite the fact I take it over 7 hours late almost every day. Some days I'm on time, other days I'm early, then totally late. This is my first time on BC. To say the least, nothing scary about Aviane. It's a chill pill."

For Birth Control "I've been on Aviane for a month now and have no complaints, really. It's been great for regulating my periods and providing protection from pregnancy. My period was normal, and I haven't experienced any major weight gain (gained 1 lb or 2) or loss. My breasts are tender sometimes, and I've experienced some swelling. But I'm not complaining about the free breast job. The only thing that has been a bit annoying is that my sex drive has increased, and my libido was high enough to start with. Other than that, it's a great contraceptive that I plan on taking for a while."

For Birth Control "This was my first ever birth control, and so far the experience has been great, no pregnancy scares or anything, less cramps and less mood swings, shockingly. I completely recommend it as a birth control since it does the job and really doesn't have very many side effects."

For Birth Control "I am a 48-year-old athlete with little body fat. I have not had a period for 4 years. Recently my hair began thinning, and sex has been very painful. My doc suggested that I have blood tests to determine whether or not I was in menopause. The tests showed that my estrogen was low, so he prescribed me Aviane. This pill has been my miracle drug. My hair stopped falling out, sex is no longer painful, and I feel happy all the time. No issues except for very light spotting while taking the hormonal pills. I did call my doc to ask if this was normal, and he said that it was my body adjusting to the new hormone. I am very, very satisfied with the outcome!"

For Birth Control "Aviane made me feel excessively fatigued, and I still got the migraines. However, I started feeling nauseous, which is extremely uncommon for me. I decided to try to stick it out for three months to see if my body would adjust, but after a month and a half, I started vomiting and having such terrible nausea that it interfered with my daily life. I decided to quit this pill mid-pack because it was having such awful effects on me (in addition to getting sick, my heart was racing, and I was very OCD). Last night, a few hours after the first dose I missed, I started having stressed breathing like I was having a panic attack, and I had to lay completely still on a couch for hours waiting for the nausea to subside."

For Birth Control "I started taking Aviane after experiencing horrible side effects from the first brand I was on. The only side effect I have experienced is nausea, so all I did was take my pill around supper time and it went away. I would definitely recommend Aviane to someone looking for a good birth control pill."

For Birth Control "After being on Ortho-Tri-Cyclen, which gave me every possible bad symptom in the world, I asked my Ob/Gyn to put me on Aviane after reading some good things about it. Aviane has been a godsend. I have been on it for about a month now. No/very little weight gain. Hardly any mood swings (nothing abnormal from when I have my period). No breakthrough bleeding and no acne. I am on day 2 of my period now, and it even seems a lot lighter than it normally was. Aviane is amazing!"

For Birth Control "I am on my fourth week of taking Aviane, and the past 3 weeks have been miserable. The first week had little side effects, but my mood swings have been getting progressively worse throughout this month. In the past week, I have started noticing extreme anxiety and cramping (even though I'm not on my period). Now that I am PMSing as well, I cannot stop eating, and I feel extremely bloated all the time. Also, my breasts have enlarged, but they feel as if they are covered in bruises. I am going to give this pill one more trial month, but so far it has not been good."

For Birth Control "Took Aviane for about 1.5 years. Periods were extremely irregular. More often than not I would have them 2-3 weeks of the month... and rarely on the placebo week. However, I did not gain weight, my acne was controlled, and I didn't get pregnant. The periods were just extremely annoying to deal with."

For Endometriosis "I suffered from endometriosis for 5 years or more. I was in my early 20s when I began to be unable to so much as get up from the bed. I was sick to my stomach all the time and in constant pain. I was prescribed a great deal of pain medicines and shots. I went to a different hospital one night, and they got me into surgery a week later or so. I found out mine was stage 4 (my organs were attached to the left side of my body, squeezing my organs with the scar tissue). The surgery took hours. Then I got a Lupron shot for 7 months and then was put on Aviane. I had a little breakthrough bleeding at first, but the massive pain stopped after I was on the Aviane and Lupron treatment path. Aviane is great, but it must be taken at the same time every day. Thanks."

For Birth Control "This birth control seemed like it had no side effects for me until I realized it was literally making me crazy. I've always been a social person, but since I started the pill, I've had the worst anxiety and paranoia. It's different for everyone, I guess, but make sure you realize that that definitely could be a side effect."

For Birth Control "Side effects I've had in exact order: - Dairy allergy (not sure if it's from the pill, occurred a few months after taking). - Constant right lower abdominal pain, with trapped gas pains, and bubbling after eating anything. - Extreme bloating after meals. Random changes: - Period was normal up until the past few months of being on it. (Been on it for over 3 years.) Super light and barely get a period. Also made me skip a month. - Cramps became more excruciating. (A week before and then during my period.) (Wasn't always like this.) After almost 4 years I dealt with all of the other side effects until I had - CHEST TIGHTNESS and HEART PALPITATIONS. Beware of your body and your symptoms. Always go with your gut. Every birth control has symptoms."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for a month now. I switched from Yaz because I felt like Yaz was making me very emotional. I was off the pill for a month and then started taking Aviane. The first two weeks I was super emotional and I broke out pretty bad, and I hardly ever break out. However, my skin is clearing up, and my emotional state is much better than before. I think it just takes a body a little while to get used to this pill. I did not gain any weight, which is nice."

For Birth Control "This is my second birth control pill. I have been taking Aviane for 1 year and 3.5 months now, and I love it! I used to have cramping so bad on the first day of my period that I would throw up, but since I started Aviane, my period symptoms are practically non-existent (except for minor breakouts on my face right before it starts, but this was a symptom prior to taking Aviane as well). I also used to get frequent yeast infections and BV, but since starting this BC, those breakouts have occurred way less often. I experience no negative side effects physically or mentally."

For Endometriosis "I used to have such severe cramps that I would occasionally vomit or be completely incapacitated for the first few days. I tried so many different things to help and was skeptical about Aviane, but not anymore. It worked. While I still experience a little pain on the first day of my period, it's nothing compared to before Aviane. I am continually impressed."

For Birth Control "Don't know if this BC works. I just recently started it, and right away I noticed a lot of acne. I have also been gaining a lot of weight, and FAST. I don't know if all these 10/10, perfectly written reviews are real, seems like they're too good to be. Yet everyone I talk to has issues with this birth control. One of my friends even got cysts as a result of taking this, and I've just heard a lot of bad things - now I'm experiencing them firsthand. I stopped taking this BC today, I don't recommend it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for almost a month. Everything is normal, no weight gain. Some little mood swings here and there, but nothing that I can't handle. My sex drive has increased a lot. I'm on my third pill in the fourth week, but I haven't started my period, not too sure when I will, but other than that I'm happy with it, no complaints."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am on my 2nd pack of Aviane and will be starting on the sugar pills tonight. I love this pill! I do not have as many side effects as I used to have with other pills. I had a few headaches and some nausea in my first month of using this, but those are gone now. No breast tenderness, no noticeable weight gain, although I have an increased appetite, but I try to balance it with a healthy diet and exercise at least 3 times a week. My previous one (Sprintec) caused me to spot, and I was having a period for 3 weeks straight. On Aviane, I have no spotting, and my periods last for only 7 days and are light. I used to have really heavy bleeding, which caused my iron levels to be depleted. I develop pimples here and there, but they are manageable. I do not have any mood swings on this pill, and that is just wonderful. I just feel happy every day! Aviane is a game changer for me, and I am so glad that I found it :)"

For Birth Control "I've used Aviane for approximately 14 years, I'm 43 now. My doctor recommended Aviane because it had a low hormone level. I never gained weight, and my periods have, for the most part, always been light. The only side effect that I've experienced is melasma (dark spots on my face). I've recently tried to get off of this birth control, but I experienced immediate weight gain. It could be attributed to my age...I don't know. Since I'm single now, and I'm not sexually active right now, I'm going to stop using Aviane to see if my dark spot problem clears up."

For Birth Control "I was on Aviane for a month and a half, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I never had a problem with acne, I would get a pimple here or there occasionally, but Aviane made me break out horribly. I am left with scarring from it, and although it has gotten a lot better, I am still trying to get rid of some of the acne. I felt depressed and emotional while taking it and definitely had mood changes while on it. My period lasted 7 days on this, and it came with horrible cramping and blood clots. I began to feel better just days after stopping this pill. I would not recommend it to anyone. The worst mistake I have made was to go on this pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Before I begin my review, I would like to point out to other viewers that some other reviews may scare you, but you should not be intimidated by them, as everyone has a different experience on birth control. That being said, I was iron deficient due to my menstrual cycle, but I was extremely against birth control as a solution for irrational reasons (weight gain, acne, chest growth). Once I began taking Aviane, it not only did its job of regulating my period within the first twenty-four hours, but it also cleared up my skin and stopped my hormonal mood swings for the most part. Weight gain has not been too much of an issue either, as I have not gained a noticeable amount of weight. Overall, I have been very happy with the results of this medication, and would recommend it to others, especially those with heavy menstrual cycles."

For Birth Control "I'm on my second pack about 2 and a half weeks in. So far, I feel better overall with my mood, besides the fact that life's been stressing me out. My only complaints are the acne, and my breasts grew so much, and I'm having a hard time with how much they've grown so quick. I also feel hungry all the time and feel like I've gained weight. Other than that, it's helped my mood turn from sad and moody to pretty calm and happy."

For Birth Control "This was my first birth control, and I found a few pros and cons with it. I used it for 3 months. Pros: shorter and lighter period, and little to no cramps. Cons: vaginal dryness, vaginal sensitivity, very low sex drive, very bad acne. I switched to another pill since it wasn't for me. However, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for other people."
