For Depression "Spravato worked when nothing else did. My doctor wanted to prescribe another SSRI, but I heard about Spravato as adjunctive treatment."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Who needs therapy when there’s Spravato? Paradoxically, my own reservations almost kept me from trying this drug that turned my entire life around. I went from sleeping on the floor at my mom's and in an abusive long-distance relationship to getting my own place and finally having the courage to leave the relationship. At the twice-a-week regimen, I was even going to the gym after work - pretty much unheard of for me in the last decade. I was discouraged to find that when I tapered to once every other week, my depression seemed to be making its way back, however, I am very lucky to be treated at a place that allows me to go back to more frequent visits. I cannot say enough good things about Spravato, and I’m not sure what my life would be without it. Lexapro took me out of a completely mental state, and Spravato ensured I stay there."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have struggled with TRD most of my life. I did not respond well to other medications or therapies. My first treatment with Spravato at 56 was amazing. My second at 84 mg was intense, unpleasant, and also very beneficial in helping me address an issue. During treatment, my service dog died, and the grief was overwhelming. I went in crying and came out better able to cope. This is a game changer for me. The dissociative aspects help me to get out of my own way and address issues. I’m going to continue taking this weekly because each time it feels I’m dropping some sad, heavy weights and leaving them behind."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Spravato gave me a much-needed boost with the first dose. It didn’t completely alleviate my depression, but it definitely got me out of a hopeless state. I was sleeping 24 hours a day for 7-8 months, with only breaks to eat and use the bathroom. After the first dose of Spravato, I was able to play with my dog outside. This drug will give you a kickstart, but probably won’t bring you all the way out of the depression alone. I am on Wellbutrin, Pristiq, and Abilify. I see my psychiatrist once a month and a counselor weekly. The Spravato definitely gave me enough of a boost to be able to start to recover with the help of counseling and other antidepressants."

For Depression "I have taken over 35 psychiatric medications over the past 30 plus years and have tried non-medicinal options as well. I have had electroconvulsive therapy, hypnotherapy, acupuncture, and more. I have been labeled treatment resistant and usually only felt a kind of 'dulling' when I took antidepressants. Yes, some negative emotions would abate a tad, but good emotions would also be numbed. With Spravato, the difference between traditional antidepressants is night and day. Instead of dulling emotions, they are enhanced. Ordinarily, this would be difficult for me, as emotions generally overwhelmed me. In the case of Spravato, I find myself able to not only handle but to enjoy my emotions. As somebody who has never had psychiatric medications offer much help EVER, this is like a miracle. It is the first antidepressant I have ever taken that I would call effective."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have struggled with treatment-resistant depression (TRD) since I was diagnosed with MDD in 1988. Things really got bad around 2001, and I had to go on disability. I have been fortunate in that I have been treated by some of the best psychiatrists in the game. Prior to being allowed to access Spravato between 2019 and 2020, I had received every pharmacological and psychological treatment available, including TMS (extensive) and ECT, including a one-year outpatient course of intensive ECT. Despite all of this, I pretty much remained in depressive hell, or as I heard one expert describe it, 'the anti-life.' Spravato, combined with a comprehensive bio-psycho-social treatment approach, allowed me to attain recovery and remission for the first time in over 30 years. However, my insurance quit covering it at the end of 2020. I actually thought I could do okay without it, so I did not really pursue trying to stay on it at that time. I was okay for awhile, but the past year has been particularly rough, and I intend to try and resume."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I started using ketamine in November of 2021. I had my doubts that it would work because I have tried so many other medications throughout the years, and I suffer from major depressive disorder. After the first 3 weeks at two treatments per week, I started feeling better. Currently, I have been taking my second round of Spravato. My suicidal thoughts are gone, my depressive state is incredibly unreal. No depression, no anxiety, and I just can't believe this drug works as well as it does. If you suffer from depression, anxiety, and it also helped my chronic pain from nerve damage, my advice to you is to try Spravato. It's amazing! I have never, ever felt as mentally good as I do now with the help of Spravato. It's a game changer."

For Major Depressive Disorder "For years (actually) decades, I’ve fought the beast… have tried it all and still fighting. I finally agreed to try Spravato. I thought it would be like a chemical ECT. I hesitate to say this and jinx the results, which have been stunning. I’m only in my third week of treatment, but the impact has been dramatic. Where I could barely get out of bed in the morning, I’m now up and moving. No negative side effects. No apparent issues with other meds I take. I only hope this impact will be long-lasting…"

For Major Depressive Disorder "11 weeks in and I am happy, thinking positively, seeing life brighter! I’m driving, being social, etc. Been struggling for 25 years. Started feeling good at about 6 weeks but even better now. Just so you know, every time you have a treatment, the experience is different. So if for some reason something is unpleasant, it doesn’t mean it always will be. Try to relax, bring water, hard candy, or cough drops for the short time the taste is bad in your throat, and I recommend headphones with music you like. You should be able to bring a pillow and small throw to cover up with. All this can make you more comfortable. I’ve never gotten sick or had any bad effects afterward. Spravato is helping me to be myself prior to my depression."

For Major Depressive Disorder "First dose was like a light switch flipped on, and everything was in color again. Immediate end to all suicidal thoughts and ideations. Drastically improved sleep, and I was able to reduce other medications as a result. The rest of the treatments were beneficial, as the dissociation helped me process trauma that I just couldn't do with therapy alone. No side effects except drowsiness the day of treatment."

For Depression "This drug has been nothing short of a miracle for me. My biggest fear is that I go back to being depressed again! I really enjoyed the ‘high’ I get. I listen to music. I suggest jazz with no vocals. Lay back, close your eyes, and RELAX! It messes with your sense of time for me. When they come in at 40 minutes to do your BP, sometimes I feel it’s only been 5 mins. I’m mad because they interrupt my mind vacation! Once they take your BP, you can’t go back to the ‘high’. I know it’s working because I have had very stressful things happen in the last month. Before Spravato, I would be freaking out!!! I would be arguing with everyone, cussing out customer service people. But I was able to maintain my composure and work through the issues. If you have some drain back, I have never tasted something as awful! So ask for some water before you administer it. And that is the only bad thing I can say about it. I hope that it works for you as well as it has worked for me!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Dx: MDD, GAD, C-PTSD Current Medication Regimen: Prozac 60mg, Atarax 50mg, Seroquel 100mg, Prazosin 2mg, Trazodone 50mg, and Spravato 56mg weekly. 4-MONTH UPDATE: Less suicidal ideation, higher moods, increased energy, and increased motivation. While I do have mild/moderate symptoms from time to time, I can finally go out and do stuff for once in my life. This medication regimen is a game changer for me. If you've suffered from severe depression for years, this medication may just change your life."

For Depression "During my first session, I was given a two-squirt dose up each nostril. The psychiatric nurse practitioner handed me the nasal spray bottle, and I was instructed to do one squirt up each nasal passage. Five minutes later, I was given another bottle of Spravato, dosing one squirt up each side of my nose. Within a few minutes, I sensed clarity. My mind was open. My racing thoughts completely ceased. I was in the moment. The nurse took my blood pressure before I dosed, one hour later, and before I left. There were no issues. From beginning to end is just over two hours. You also can't drive yourself to the appointment. Someone must bring you there and take you home. The second visit I was given a total of three squirts up each nasal passage, also five minutes apart. It's like a bottle of nasal saline solution. Similar to taking Afrin. It's simple. The feeling is instant and eventually tapers off. It's an eye-opening, altering smooth ride. I was awake the entire time. Racing thoughts ceased."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I'm currently in week 11 of treatment with esketamine 56 mg once a week. I feel that it started to work around weeks 6-8. Less suicidal ideation, more energy, improved mood, etc. I have had some minor bladder problems, such as an urgent need to urinate. However, the benefits far outweigh the side effects. I'm hoping to start on 84 mg soon. Diagnosed with MDD, PTSD, and GAD."

For Major Depressive Disorder "This is an update to a review I wrote 6 months ago. I have now been on Spravato for one year. I have had depression and suicidal thoughts nearly every day for the past 25 years. Except for the last year on Spravato. Every month I see a gradual improvement. The biggest improvement my first six months was the cessation of suicidal ideation. The last six months, not only has my general sadness gone away, but I can now bounce back when things are rough. I still have healing to do, but none of it would be possible without Spravato."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I can only speak about my own experience. The medicine does the work it sets out to do. I am a person struggling with CPTSD and depression. Spravato has helped significantly reduce suicidal ideation, reduce depression, and overall increase my well-being. The post-nasal drip is similar to that of any allergy nasal spray. The onset lasts approximately two hours in which I meditate, listen to audiobooks, and practice mindfulness. This is the largest breakthrough in psychiatric medication since 1987. I am not paid for this review nor am I affiliated with the pharma industry in any way."

For Major Depressive Disorder "My first treatment was February 7, 2020, and my life has been completely changed thanks to this medication. For one thing, it has given me hope that there are new treatments to fight depression. The best thing is it is working! I no longer stay in bed all the time. I have more energy, and I enjoy living life again. As far as the treatments themselves, I get a feeling of euphoria for the first 40 minutes. My face, lips, and nose have a very numb feeling which goes away within about 2 hours. Some days after my treatment I feel fatigued, and some days I have a good amount of energy. For me, watching funny videos/comedians/movies on my iPad helps me not to dwell on the results of my treatment when coming down from the 'high'. Personally, this medication is a blessing and it has given me my life back."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Suicidal depression has plagued me since before I could even conceive of it — probably very much like gender. A panoply of medicines, always with Cylert or Ritalin, provided a substantial modicum of relief for decades. However, consciousness continued to be unbearably painful, and a craving for self-annihilation became my default. One week of the higher-dose treatment (3 containers) remains, and, while I am not elated, the constant suicide hunger is gone. I don’t yet know if it facilitates pleasure, but it does stop the death default."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I’ve dealt with depression for over 40 years and have been on most medications. This is the first time I’ve felt on the path to the true me, free of the clouds. This has literally saved my life. While I chose MDD as the condition, I am more accurately Treatment-Resistant Depression."

For Depression "I started in December, and to put it simply, it saved my life. It took about six weeks, and I've also been taking Prozac and some supplements, which have also helped. For the first time in my life, I feel like I can function normally. I would be a poster child for this drug if I could."

For Depression "Details: a medium intranasal dose twice a week in office for a month, followed by a high dose once a week. Not a cure. If you stop, your depression will return. Experience: spray a mist of Spravato into each nostril while at the office. You then need to wait two hours to be monitored for the effects to wear off. For me, the first 20 minutes are unpleasant, like a psychedelic trip that is a bit too strong. Due to COVID-19, I cannot bring anyone with me, so I listen to guided meditations. I have vomited on the higher dose, but an accompanying Zofran has helped tremendously. In my bag: water bottle, crackers, hard candy, a book. The nasal spray drips down your throat and tastes terrible. Results: Spravato has helped me tremendously. I am 36, and have had depression since I was 12. I have tried many medications, with only minor results (including TMS). The appointments are unpleasant for me, but they are worth it for the relief. It was about two months before I saw results."

For Depression "After trying an absurd amount of antidepressants and various meds and finding no improvement, Spravato changed my life. I won't begin to lie, saying the experience is easy. No, especially the first two or three times, you will get blasted into the damn moon. Very, very intense. Shortly after beginning this treatment and continuing for a few weeks, the improvements were amazing. My family and friends could see how much better I was doing, and I could even notice the improvements in myself (which is often really hard to find). I really encourage anyone else with treatment-resistant depression to try Spravato."
