For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "100 mg 2x daily. Diarrhea to the point of incontinence. Told by doctor to take 2 Imodium 30 minutes before eating anything. Ended up being bloated and still have explosive diarrhea. I stopped taking Viberzi, and my untreated IBS-D symptoms are a heck of a lot better than on the medication. Don't get me wrong, I still have urgent needs, but at least I can go back to the gym."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Very disappointed. Doctor gave me an 8-day supply, yet the only difference I've seen is negative. For some reason, the medicine seemed to aggravate my IBS and trigger a week of symptoms, the worst of which was bloating and diarrhea. However, even with these negative symptoms, I still suggest people give it a try. Everyone is different, just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you. If you can get a sample, it's worth a try."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I started taking Viberzi because almost every weekend, and anytime stress hit, so did the IBS-D. I have had it basically most of my life to some degree (college was the worst!). Anyway, I finally tried it 8 months ago and hadn’t had any issues, it was great! But then, a month ago, I had one episode of diarrhea and cramping. I had hoped it was attributed to some food problem. But this weekend I am having a rather painful episode, not much diarrhea, so far lasting two days. I am under extreme stress, but I think this whole month will be an issue for me. I wondered if anyone else has had recurrences. I work in a GI clinic, so I get free samples because insurance will not cover it."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Viberzi has been a miracle worker for my wife (taking it for about a year). Like others have stated, two pills a day resulted in constipation, but 1/day resolved her diarrhea and gave her the confidence to take a trip of over 30 minutes without worrying about having to make an emergency stop or have an 'accident.' It has always been crazy expensive, but with manufacturer discount cards provided by the doctors' office and insurance, it was down to a very manageable $30/refill. Evidently, there has been a price increase since the first of the year. The 'retail' cost has jumped from $1300 to over $4000. With insurance and the discount card, it's now just over $1300, which we can't afford. So she's back to living with the constant threat of not being able to find a bathroom fast enough."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "The worst drug I have ever experienced. First day felt like I had a band crushing my head, my vision blurred, and my liver ached, but I tried to push on. Day two had a full-blown migraine, my stomach bloated to painful to touch, I began vomiting, and my back felt like a mule kicked me in the liver. The pain was similar to kidney stone. Rectal bleeding was intense and did not stop my diarrhea. I have Crohn's, IBD, along with short bowel."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I have had IBS since I was 13. I am 44 now. In March, I had pancreatitis and was in the hospital for 3 days. My gastro Dr wanted to try Viberzi 100 mg twice a day. At first, I was not going to the bathroom at all and was very concerned. Slowly, I started to go after 3 days of being on the medication. After weeks, everything started to be so much better. I thought this was a miracle drug. A few weeks ago, I felt bad and started having diarrhea yet again. The medicine seemed to stop working. I called my Dr and had him run my blood work just in case I was starting to get pancreatitis again, but all was ok. The medicine just isn’t working like it had been. I have at least one to two episodes a week. Not sure what to do."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I started taking Viberzi because I will have 5-10 bowel motions a day, a lot of times diarrhea. It was getting worse and interfering with work. I felt really terrible after starting it. I felt ill, very fatigued, sharp abdominal pain, and at one time I felt drunk. Most of that subsided after 3-4 days. And I don’t have to rush to the bathroom so much. I had hoped I’d be one of the ones who only needed 1 pill a day, but it wasn’t enough. I take it twice a day. But the side effects are still bothering me. I get this kind of burning pain in my neck and shoulders every time I take it. It lasts for hours. I don’t take it on an empty stomach, but I guess I could try eating more with it... that’s what someone else here said they do. I’m fortunate I only pay $30 a month with my insurance, but it had to have prior authorization."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "This medicine made things so much worse for me. I tried it for over two months, and it never stopped IBS. It actually worked opposite and made my diarrhea and gas five times worse. I’m going back to Lotrenox. At least it worked a little."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been taking this medication for over a month. I couldn't take it twice a day as that made my stomach hurt badly. I take 1 pill a day and it works like a miracle. I used to look for bathrooms everywhere I went. It was embarrassing. Almost had accidents several times because the diarrhea was so bad. The only bad thing I can really say is that if I miss a dose or take it late, my diarrhea comes back immediately with a vengeance. So just remember to be vigilant in your schedule. Otherwise, best medicine ever."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "I've been on this medicine since July '17. The first few months it was a godsend. My initial week on the meds though... lots of bloating, nausea, and sleepiness. My doc explained I was experiencing the bloating because my stomach and system weren’t used to having that much food stay in my body for that long. (I'd have diarrhea after just about every meal, and that was with taking an antispasmodic medicine.) Zantac helped, and after a while, the bloating and nausea subsided, and the drug started to work well! Then too well, so we dropped it down to 100 mg 1x a day from 2x... then it wasn’t well enough, so now I’m on 75 mg 2x a day. Getting more stomach pain and nausea after taking the pills than I used to, so might need to change it if it continues."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "After one week, I went from having diarrhea 6-8 times a day to normal movements twice (average) a day. What a Godsend!"

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea "Started Viberzi a week or so ago. Got painfully gassy and constipated. So went down to one 100 mg tablet daily. Felt kind of better but was still having IBS symptoms. Started the second dose yesterday. Tonight I got so sick: painful cramps, diarrhea, light vomiting, terribly painful all around. It lasted hours. I almost went to the hospital, which isn’t like me at all. Needless to say, I won’t be taking another dose. Trying an interstim device on my sacrum next. I’ve got to get my life back. I hope others have a much better experience, but for me, I’d rather live on Imodium and try other less perilous solutions."
