"From day one of taking Viberzi, I felt a difference. No more stomach pains or cramps or needing to run to the bathroom every time I ate, this medicine truly is perfect. I've noticed that other people have had issues with it, and I see a few have mentioned that they don't have a gallbladder and it works fine for them. I do not have a gallbladder, and it has been the most helpful medicine I've been on yet, so maybe it has something to do with not having a gallbladder? Anyway, this medicine does work for me, and hopefully anyone reading this that has wanted to try it will take the good comments into consideration and try it out! You never know unless you try! Just read the directions and DO NOT drink alcohol like it says!!"

"I have been on Viberzi 75 mg for about 6 months now. I have seen my diarrhea decrease dramatically. I also no longer suffer from the upper abdominal pain that used to trouble me almost daily. As with some others here, I have noticed a kind of sleepy, muscle ache feeling about an hour after each dose and a tendency to constipation, which I counteract by using fiber supplements. Overall, this has made my life much better and allowed me to eat foods I could not eat before. My insurance has covered the costs."

"I have had IBS-D for nearly 25 years and getting worse as time goes on. Flare-ups after everything I ate. Traveling anywhere is horrible, and I could never eat the day before flying until I landed, then would eat. My Dr. prescribed this medicine, and I have been taking it for 2 weeks. So far, so good, with only 2 diarrhea episodes. That is really good for me! I hope it changes my life and everyone suffering from this frustrating condition! I'm sorry to the ones it didn't help, I hope you can find some relief soon!"

"I finally got to try Viberzi after a year of begging my G.I. doctor to give it to me after being on many medications over the last 9 years. This is the ONLY medication that's helped me. I was on Levsin, Bentyl, Protonix, Xifaxan, and others over the years, and none of them did a thing. I had no quality of life, and now that I'm on Viberzi, I have a life. I went on vacation with my kids for the first time, instead of having other family take them. I'm enrolled in CNA classes, so I can finally hold a job again. I'm so sorry it doesn't work for everyone with IBS-D."

"I have been taking this drug for about 2 weeks, and it is a miracle in a bottle as far as I'm concerned. I've been battling IBS-D for 10 years and never really sought treatment until recently. Frequent and very urgent BMs for years to varying degrees. Very sensitive to spicy food. Always on the lookout for the next restroom... With Viberzi, I'm down to 1-2 per day and solid! I haven't experienced any side effects as others have mentioned. My doctor has tried a few other drugs, this is the first that worked for me. The discount program worked for me. Worth a try if you have IBS-D."

"Dealt with IBS-D for over 40 years. Imodium helped but still had anxiety about going anywhere. Started taking Viberzi about 6 weeks ago. Having very good results...except for fatigue and major gas, I could resurrect the Hindenburg! Finally got Blue Cross to pay for it, really expensive. After reading some of these reviews, I am hoping that I am one of the lucky ones and it continues to work. I have a life again!!!!!"

"I have suffered from severe IBS-D for the past 5 years. I was continuing to get worse, it seemed like I tried everything, and I still had more bad days than good. I had cut out gluten, all dairy, coffee, pretty much every possible trigger I cut out of my diet. I was on Levsin three times daily, and I also still had to take Immodium in between. I could take three Immodium, and it still would not stop my diarrhea. It would last for an entire day, even after taking medication. I was at my wit's end. My doctor had me try Viberzi at the end of December. She put me on 75 mg twice daily. So far, it has been fantastic! I am much improved. I went two weeks straight without an episode of diarrhea, and it has been years since I've gone that long!"

"I’ve been on this for almost 2 years. This is a miracle drug! I had to quit working as a teacher due to my IBS-D symptoms. (You can’t leave the kids for 20 minutes while you have to poop.) Anyway, I still get the occasional “breakthrough” days, and help me if I miss a day! I suppose that’s the proof that it works. Usually, I have 1-2 normal BMs a day as opposed to 5-10 toilet punishers a day. MIRACLE DRUG!!! The worst thing is that the pharmacy won’t put it on my auto-refill each month, and they have to order it in, so I have to remember to refill it early."

"This has definitely been a miracle drug for me. I'm finally regular. I take one 100 mg tablet before bed because it makes me sleepy. Occasionally, I'll take one if my stomach starts cramping up. It makes you feel heavy sometimes. I used to take sleeping medicine because I couldn't sleep from the pain. Two birds, one stone. The best thing my doctor has recommended. Ask for a free sample, it's worth a try."

"I am quitting after the 3rd dose of Viberzi because of abdominal pain. It is not worth it, changing diarrhea for pain. Interesting, the comments about this could not be IBS but bile malabsorption, I will research further."

"I was so hopeful this being the answer for me. I suffered from IBS for a year and a half with nothing helping. Pretty much living life as a hermit. This med did help my IBS. Did not control completely but made life easier. My problem was two weeks after starting the med I started to experience depression. This was the first week in November. I never dreamed it could be this med. After Christmas, my depression was very serious, and I could not handle any daily activities and was barely surviving. I consulted with my family doctor, and he suggested stopping the drug immediately. Within three days, I started to feel better and two weeks back to myself. I will never take it again!!"

"I have taken both the 75 mg and the 100 mg Viberzi. When I started on this medication, the 75 mg worked somewhat. My diarrhea was slowed, and the stool was more solid. However, after being on it for a month or a little longer, the benefits decreased. I went from having 3 to 4 bowel movements a day to having 6 or more. The usual pattern was that the first movement was the most solid, the next ones were more loose and runny. My doctor increased the strength of Viberzi to the 100 mg. Same basic issues... worked well at first, but after using it for a while, I was back to having 6 or more movements, with the first one the most solid. I am again trying the lower dose, as the cost of the 100 mg was way too expensive, even with Medicare and my supplement drug plan."

"Took this drug 4 days, on the 4th day, I became ill. Pain in the abdominal area felt like I was having a heart attack or severe indigestion. The pain was terrible for an hour. Took a tramadol to ease the pain. Entire body felt weak and achy. After a few hours, I was able to get out of bed and continue my day, but felt like I had been run over by a truck. I do not have a gallbladder, and the bowel movements, while not watery, while on Viberzi, were scant, and I had terrible gas and gas pains. Off the med today. IBS-D is back. The watery bile in BMs is back. I'll take that over the bad pains and feeling bad."

"This drug has done wonders for my IBS-D. I've suffered for 25 years and was skeptical this would help. I was at my wit's end and was withdrawing from everyone. Now, I go on my way and do not have to find the bathroom everywhere I go, just in case. Everyone should give it a try as it may work for you despite negative reviews. Every body is different, so it's worth trying it for yourself. Best of luck!"

"Started this five months ago, and in the first week, I was totally fine. It stopped all symptoms. Felt great. Ate what I wanted. After being diagnosed over 20 years ago and managed well with diet for most of the past years. A year ago, I was back to 8 trips to the bathroom with immediate diarrhea daily, at least 4-5 days per week. Viberzi was amazing. Went to the pharmacy this week to pick up a refill. Had a note to call the doctor. Had to take me off immediately. Has been blacklisted for patients without a gallbladder. Doc wanted me on Lotronex. Has also been blacklisted for tissue death in the intestines! I stopped medication on Thursday, and I have had an immediate resumption of diarrhea. Can't leave the house. Have to travel to a conference for work all week."

"Some background of drugs/supplements I have been on, and what works and doesn't work for me. Bentyl - useless, Librax - useless, Lomotil works but does not prevent diarrhea. Zoloft helps anxiety associated with IBS but not diarrhea. Kava helps anxiety associated with IBS. Kratom helps IBS tremendously but is expensive. I have only been on Viberzi for 3 weeks. It has been a lifesaver. Pretty much down to 1 BM a day. Helps with pain, which Lomotil did not. I still have gas. Do NOT drink with alcohol. I had 1 drink, and I felt like I was going to die. You can't take it while you're pregnant because not enough studies have been done. I had to wait 3 days for insurance to approve it, but I'm glad I have it. No generic available."

"I took Viberzi for about a week, and then I had acute pancreatitis for three weeks. I have my gallbladder, I don't drink, and aside from IBS-D, I don't really have health issues. This is a dangerous drug."

"I was put on Viberzi. Took one pill before bed on Tuesday and one before bed on Wednesday, 75mg each. To say this has been a nightmare is an understatement. Within an hour of the second pill, I had severe abdominal and back pain. Also, pain that went into the right side of my chest. It is 12:00 Thursday, and I haven't taken another pill, nor will I, but I am completely worn out and still in full pain throughout my body. I was so hopeful for this. Be careful!"

"I took it for about 2 weeks, and one night I woke up around 2:30 am with severe pain that radiated to my back, with heavy puking and pooping. Went to the hospital, and they told me I had pancreatitis and took me off Viberzi. Spent 6 days in the hospital with IV fluids and no eating. Horrible experience!"

"Have suffered from IBS-D for approximately 23 years. The only medication that gives me relief from my symptoms has been Imodium, 1-2 tabs per day. I tried Viberzi for just three days because my symptoms became so frequent from not using the Imodium that I wasn't able to leave the house for more than an hour or two. I hope Viberzi works better for other people who try it. Very disappointing for me, to say the least. I gave it three out of ten because it did firm up the first BM of the day and had no noticeable side effects."

"This medicine has been a life-changer for me. I've tried absolutely everything, and this is the only thing that controls loose stools and diarrhea without making me constipated. It has honestly been a miracle, especially because I work and travel a lot, and that was always so stressful - I wouldn't eat for long periods of time because I was so scared of an accident. I would give it a ten, but it's expensive; luckily there are savings programs you can find - and that's well worth it - or it's over 1,000 a month, and I am not sure how anyone could afford that!"

"The Viberzi stopped my IBS diarrhea immediately. However, it sent me into immediate severe constipation. As soon as I started taking it, I started having constant heart fluttering, cramping near my right armpit, and having daily skipped heartbeats. As soon as I went off of it, all the fluttering, cramping, skipped heartbeats, and constipation stopped."

"I have had IBS-D for the last 30 years. It has controlled every aspect of my life. Extreme diarrhea and horrible stomach cramps daily. Started Viberzi about a month ago, it's like a miracle drug. I have had some constipation, and when I take the pill, I feel like I'm a little drunk. I also had a weird feeling the two times I had alcohol. About an hour after I finished a drink, I was unable to swallow. It was like the muscles in my throat quit working. It went away, but really freaked me out."
