"Cymbalta has been a lifesaver for my diabetic neuropathy. In just a few days, the pain and discomfort went away. The only problem I am facing with Cymbalta is insomnia, even in combination with Xanax 4 mg and Vistaril 150 mg."

"My issues are severe anxiety, severe depression, and neuropathy. I had suicidal thoughts with Lexapro, so I decided to try Cymbalta. It gave me jaw pain and a weird taste and smell when starting it, but not bad effects. It helped my crying spells stop and seemed to slightly increase depression. I was on 30 mg. However, it made my panic disorder and anxiety skyrocket. It really helped neuropathy and phantom pains I’ve been having. But the heightened anxiety I couldn’t stand, so I had to go off of it. It gave me a weird hypersensitivity feeling."

"I was very unsteady on my feet. At first, some of the pain was resolved, but it didn't work. Even though my feet were not swollen, they felt that way-a very tight feeling. It felt like I was walking on balloons, a terrible feeling, and I was afraid to walk with that unsteadiness. Didn't work for me. Since then, I have been on many different medications. Neurontin didn't help, amitriptyline didn't help, Lyrica didn't help. I am on nortriptyline now with a pain patch. The fentanyl patch really helps, but I don't want to stay on this forever, so I'm trying different medications. I am only supposed to leave the pain patch on for 3 days and found with the new medication, nortriptyline, I can go 5 days. So I am hopeful here."

"I have an amputated left arm. I have horrible nerve pain. The doctor I just saw started me on Cymbalta. I have only been on it a week and have not noticed any difference yet. How long does it take for it to work?"

"I was given Cymbalta for depression after my doctor asked how long I had been taking Celexa. When I replied, 'since about 2006,' and it was now 2020, I am guessing that prompted her changing me up. I too have neuropathy, supposedly type II diabetes-related. I am still not sure that is what I have going on, but that is another story... I was placed on Cymbalta for depression, NOT pain. I am unaware of Cymbalta having pain-relieving properties. I DO know that Cymbalta or Duloxetine (sp) was originally formulated as an anti-seizure medication. I believe that they discovered it was effective enough to begin prescribing it specifically for that purpose. I also take Gabapentin for nerve pain. The stuff works, but some of the side effects are bad, one of them goes unaccepted as being related to Gabapentin: accelerated tooth and root decay. Numerous reports from people with the same symptoms after beginning Gabapentin."

"Cymbalta lessens the burning pain in my feet that used to wake me up and keep me awake at night. It often relieves burning pain almost completely."

"I've been taking Cymbalta for 10 years for neuropathy. I didn't know how effective it was until I decided to stop taking it. My foot felt as if it were in hot coals. I love it."
