Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my third pregnancy. My previous pregnancies, I had horrible nausea and vomiting. Took Zofran from the time I found out I was pregnant until the day I gave birth. With this pregnancy, however, Zofran wasn't working for nothing!!! Got prescribed Diclegis and took 1 at night (last night), made me very sleepy. Woke up and felt a million times better, though. I haven't felt like this in months! I finally feel normal! This is a lifesaver, my copay was $50, but it was worth every dollar! It's now 8:30 pm the next day, and I still feel pretty good off last night's pill. It did put me out like a light, but reading other reviews, the drowsiness shouldn't last long."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "With my 1st pregnancy, I suffered from severe morning sickness to the point that I lost a significant amount of weight. With my second pregnancy, I started getting very sick again and mentioned it to a nurse at my OB-GYN office, and she prescribed me Diclegis. Prior to that, I had tried many other homeopathic solutions such as the Sea Bands and ginger. None of these worked for me. The Diclegis worked from the morning after I first took it until now. At 12 weeks pregnant, I thought I might be out of the woods, so I stopped taking the Diclegis last night. I have been nauseous all day and vomiting! It is obvious that these meds work. I will be taking them again for the next 2 weeks. Only complaint is I'm more fatigued than usual when taking it."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Diclegis is a lifesaver! Starting at week 6, I had terrible nausea and vomiting. It was so debilitating, I could barely keep anything down or function normally. About two weeks ago, my doctor prescribed me Diclegis 4x a day, and it's been a game changer. The only thing I've noticed is that I start to feel really sick again if I miss a dose or if I take the medication late, but other than that, I'm feeling great!"

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Just started this medication and have had a great improvement! I’m taking the full 4-pill dosage. I was a regular Unisom user before taking this, so I do not find it makes me very drowsy, maybe a little midday, but who doesn’t get tired in the afternoon? Totally worth it to not feel sick and miserable - I had moderate to severe all-day nausea, no vomiting. I’m trying to get on a schedule of taking all 4 spread out (vs. two at bedtime) to get really consistent levels, since it does not make me very drowsy. This medicine helps me get through the day with my toddler! It is a little expensive, but worth it for me, feeling sick is the worst. Together with some lemon candies and magnesium spray for random waves of nausea, it’s a good combo."

For Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I'm pregnant with twins, and my nausea the first trimester (and a few weeks into the second) was debilitating. I was throwing up and needing to eat something every 2 hours, including at night. My doctor prescribed Bonjesta at my 8-week appointment (when we discovered there were two babies in there), and the relief was almost immediate. I could sleep through the night again, stopped throwing up, was less disgusted by the smells of food, and was able to snack throughout the day and go for walks/do prenatal yoga again instead of lying in bed miserable. I was worried to take a medication at all, but the impact it's had on my sickness has been incredible, and it's a tried-and-true combination that people have used for decades. The timed release is especially helpful. I only needed one tablet at night (instead of a second in the morning). It's definitely not cheap, but my husband and I both think it was worth it for me to be able to function again."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was prescribed this by my OB-GYN and began the medicine as instructed with 2 at night and 1 the next morning. I woke up in the morning feeling angry and frustrated and was taking it out on my 2-year-old and husband. I continued about my morning and took my daughter to daycare and realized something was not right about me. I was dizzy and feeling groggy and irritated. I was out of it for the rest of the day. I discontinued using the medicine and called my OB-GYN the next day, who told me I had a bad reaction to the medicine. Bad stuff for me and now still living with the nausea and sickness versus feeling all of that from the medicine."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Overall, Diclegis has definitely reduced my nausea, so that I don't want to die 24/7. I can still notice the nausea some, especially when it gets closer to the next dosage. I am on 4 a day. It took two days to lessen the nausea, and I've still been vomiting once a day on average, and holding more back. I still need to keep my stomach full, but at least I can drink sips of water and eat some food, other than only toast. The first three days, I was a zombie. Now I can stay awake with caffeine in the morning, a nap in the afternoon. I don't know if I can return to work because I am so sleepy, which is the major negative. I was also constipated the first several days. I hate taking medicine, but I have two children to care for and was getting dehydrated."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was given vitamin B6 and Unisom, which ended up making me more sick because I hated the smell of my own saliva after taking them. Then, the worst medicine on the planet called metoclopramide “Reglan,” which doesn’t work at all. Finally, after I lost 4 kg while constantly throwing up, my doc decided to put me on Diclegis, and ladies, don’t read negative comments, give it a try and you will forget nausea. They say it takes 5-7 hours to start kicking in, but for me, it took 4 hours. After those final four hours, I felt light and happy again. I am back in the kitchen, back on my feet, eating healthy fruits and vegetables. I couldn’t resist the smell of onion frying or baking bread with Reglan and other meds, but now I don’t even feel the smell of onion or biryanis being cooked constantly in the house... love him or her, whoever invented this formula."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I'm pregnant with twins, and after 6 weeks, I started having severe nausea, and at 10 weeks, the vomiting came along. My doctor prescribed Diclegis. It works, the only downfall is the aftertaste. I have this horribly bitter taste in my mouth. I don't even know which is better: the nausea or the bitter taste."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Before I took this medicine, I was miserable. I didn’t have any morning sickness really in the first trimester, but when the second one hit, I was throwing up multiple times a day and through the night as well. Pedialyte and body armor were my go-to and still didn’t work. Finally, I took this. I take 2 at night, and it kicks in. Once it’s time to take it again, my body usually knows because I start getting nauseous all over again as if it weren’t in my body. I sleep better. It’s amazing, and I hope the effects never wear off. I can actually eat now."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This medication did not work for me at all. I never got relief from nausea and actually threw up twice while on it. I stopped taking it, and the next morning I actually woke up feeling okay. Started a new medication (Zofran), so we'll see if it works. The Bonjesta made me sleepy, especially when taking one at night and one in the AM, but it never helped the nausea!"

For Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is absolutely a miracle. I started to have severe nausea at week 6, and my doctor put me on this pill. I started to take 2 pills before bed for a couple of weeks, and then I switched to one. Big game changer. I was feeling much better the day after. I tried to stop taking it 2 times in my second trimester, thinking nausea was far away gone, but just a dream. I got back on the pill again and continued taking it since I can’t deal with the terrible morning sickness."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting "After 5 weeks of uncontrollable vomiting and severe dehydration, I was admitted to the hospital for a week for hyperemesis. They gave me Zofran, which helped with nausea, but after research I decided to stop that, and then my OB then prescribed Diclegis. It’s not as strong as Zofran, no, but it has definitely helped me keep things down!!!"

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my 2nd pregnancy, and the nausea and vomiting from the thought of food or taking prenatal pills was taking a toll on my mental. My doctor prescribed me Bonjesta. I took it a few nights, and the next day I had no morning sickness. It's working about 80% of the time, which is good. Just a huge caution: if you decide to take this during the day, make sure you have absolutely NOTHING to do. I made a mistake taking this at 2 pm in the afternoon, couldn't get up until about 8 pm. This pill put me on my butt! I fought the drowsiness as long as I could, but it won. It's now 11:45 pm, and I'm still tired. I will stick to taking this before bed."

For Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I swear this is a miracle pill, the brand name I take is called Bonjesta. Before I started it, I couldn’t even function as a human being. I laid in bed all day, nauseous, or was over the toilet, dry heaving. Now that I’m on it, though, I can actually do things and function. I’ve made the mistake of forgetting it one day and felt like garbage the whole next day (completely with throwing up while driving) until I could get to my medicine and take it. I still don’t have much of an appetite, but at least now I can actually eat food and drink water. Before I started my medicine, I couldn’t and ended up in the ER for fluid and lost a lot of weight."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "At first, the Diclegis seemed to work somewhat. I was no longer vomiting, though I was still gagging at times, but I was glad to be able to keep my food down. However, now I'm in my 2nd trimester at nearly 14 weeks and taking 3 a day, and the nausea is on and off all day, the gagging is intense, and I have even thrown up a few times. I'm not sure what is going on, the doctor even took me off my prenatals to help the nausea, and nothing seems to work. I was planning on decreasing my dose soon and getting off the medication, as I'm still skeptical and concerned about the long-term effects it could have on my baby. This medication also makes me very sleepy all day. It makes it really hard to wake up at 5 a.m. for work."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I wish I knew about this during my first pregnancy. It helps me go from throwing up 2-3 times a day and miserable to feeling very little nausea most days. I take 1 pill around 5:30 pm (after I’m done driving for the day) and I usually sleep around 8:30 to 6:30."

For Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Honestly, I felt like this medication was not working at first. My doctor had me take one in the morning, one mid-day, and two at night. After a week or two, my nausea is much better. I do still puke occasionally, but my food aversions are better, and I am able to do my daily activities. I am trying to take only two at night now that it is in my system. I have been doing well with this and ate so much for Thanksgiving. I am now almost 8 weeks pregnant. Started taking this medication at 5 weeks. (:"

For Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I have been taking Bonjesta since week 5 of my pregnancy for severe nausea and vomiting. It took a couple of weeks to work, and even while on it, I vomited now and again. I noticed whenever I forgot to take it, the vomiting and nausea would come back with a vengeance. This week (13 weeks now), I was feeling much better and also ran out of Bonjesta. I decided to see if I could do without it. For the next 2 days, I couldn't hold any food down, it was so bad. So, it does cause terrible withdrawal symptoms. I have restarted it and have already started to feel better. Now I am scared to come off it, but I plan to wean off very gradually. I don't want to take it forever."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I took Bonjesta around the clock with Zofran, not at the same time but as often as I could. Once the Diclegis began to become effective, it literally saved my life and allowed daily normalcy versus the misery of which makes you sad. You want to enjoy your pregnancy and all that comes with it, and being nauseated all day can certainly put a damper on that experience. I was so happy this was available, and I would ONLY accept the brand name, and I found this to be the most expensive yet! Best money spent that I could remember... I did try Zofran alone as you already don't like to take anything while being pregnant, Zofran didn’t work alone for me. But these two around the clock gave me what I needed for six months that I was nauseous."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "The nausea was absolutely unmanageable before Bonjesta. I was throwing up almost every day, and it was hard to eat anything. The drowsiness is real. The first few days, I had a hard time waking up before 10:00 a.m., and was sleepy again by 6:00 p.m. But, as many have said, I'll take the drowsiness over the nausea. At least I'm able to eat (still small meals, a little at a time, nothing with a ton of flavor) and stay hydrated. Also, my OBGYN gave me a coupon that brought the price down to $40. Otherwise, with insurance, it was $200 (no insurance closer to $800). So definitely ask for a coupon."

I don't care what anyone says about this medicine and that it doesn’t cause the baby to die early on, I feel it does. It does help with nausea and vomiting."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This medicine is a lifesaver. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and hadn't gained weight at all throughout this pregnancy. I actually lost weight because I was nauseous, vomiting regularly, and couldn't eat throughout this entire pregnancy. I was taking Zofran, which did help, but thanks to Diclegis, I was able to start eating more, the nausea went away, and I gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks. I take Zofran throughout the day and 1-2 Diclegis at night because of the drowsiness, but this medicine is definitely a lifesaver for me."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I took two of these pills and went into a full-on rage for 6 straight hours. I couldn't control my emotions, my eyelids kept twitching. I felt like I was pumped full of antidepressants and was in a cross-eyed fog. My nausea was definitely gone, considering all the new horrible feelings I was enduring. The nurse said to 'give it time.' I have a two-year-old-I don't have a week or even a few days to be fueled by hatred and impatience. This medicine is horrible. Don't take it unless you want to experience extreme mood swings and irritability."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was ridiculously sick starting around 5-6 weeks pregnant. At 8 weeks, my new OB-GYN prescribed Diclegis. I started taking 2 pills at night, and I definitely felt better the next day-barely any nausea, so it definitely served its purpose. However, when I returned for the 10-week ultrasound, my doctor informed me that there was no heartbeat and the baby stopped growing around 8 weeks. The heartbeat was strong, 140 at 7 weeks, and this was a totally devastating blow-usually, once there is a heartbeat above 120, there is a very small chance of miscarriage-about 3-4%. I can’t help but think that maybe it is not a total coincidence that the baby stopped growing and died right around the same time I started taking Diclegis. If I am lucky to get pregnant again, I will never touch this drug :("
