Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my first pregnancy, and I have been extremely nauseated, which started at week 6. At 8 weeks, I was vomiting 3-4 times a day. I am currently 10 weeks, and my doctor prescribed me Bonjesta, which has worked like a gem! I am forever grateful that there is a safe and effective method for women experiencing these symptoms throughout their pregnancy. I am hoping that as I move into the 12-14 week phase, I will no longer have to rely on this medication, but in the meantime, I will continue to take it in order to function. It did make me extremely drowsy at first, but now that I take it on a regular basis as prescribed, my body has become somewhat adjusted. I typically take it in the evenings before bed."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my 5th pregnancy, and I always have nausea, but not technically severe because I don’t vomit. But this time I have been nauseous pretty much 24/7 with severe food aversions. I am 8 weeks, and we had a plane trip already scheduled, so I asked my doctor for something because I struggle with motion sickness even when I’m not pregnant. Oh my goodness, I have NEVER felt so good on an airplane in my life! My nausea is completely gone, and food sounds good again. Three days ago, looking at food magazines made me feel queasy. For me, drowsiness hasn’t been an issue either. They just gave me a sample of Bonjesta, but I think I’m going to ask for a prescription when we get home. I feel like myself again and like I can actually be there for my kids instead of just laying on the couch trying not to think about food."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "At first, I hated how drowsy this medication made me. The first dose, which I took at 9 p.m., knocked me out until around 3 p.m. the next day. But slowly, my downtime started to decrease more and more. Last night, I took it and went straight to bed around 10, and I woke up around 9:45. So that's improvement. I think it's worth it to keep taking it and seeing if your body gets used to the drowsiness because honestly, for me, it really helps with the nausea. Some days it's just barely there, others, it is almost non-existent. It totally makes morning sickness more bearable for me."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I had morning sickness all day long. It kicked in on week 6. It was unbearable. I tried Bonjesta for three days, and it took the edge off. I was disappointed because I was still super nauseous. I took a second pill on the fourth day. It made me so drowsy. After taking two, I went back to one a day. After a week on it, I feel so much better! My nausea was almost completely gone after a week, and it doesn’t make me drowsy anymore. If after a few days it doesn’t work, take a second pill one day just to get in your system and wait a week. It takes a week to work. It is worth it! You will feel good again."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Came into severe morning sickness at 6th week of my 1st pregnancy. Lost my appetite; nauseous all day, every day. Nights were the worst because I would wake up every 20 minutes, feeling like I needed to vomit. I lost weight. I tried homeopathic remedies. Nothing worked. I was so worried that I would have to live like this for my whole pregnancy. My doctor prescribed Bonjesta. Within 20 minutes of taking the first pill, I felt drowsy, but my nausea already started subsiding. I will take drowsiness over nausea any day. I have to work hard to stay focused, but still, I am able to work and function and eat. I highly recommend Bonjesta. I still experience mild nausea from time to time, but nothing like before. I take 1 pill when I wake up in the AM, plus 1 pill at approximately 6:30 pm."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was prescribed this medicine for my morning sickness. I haven't been able to get out of bed since I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant. This medicine does help me to not feel nauseous, but the side effects are terrible. I feel as if I've been given a heavy sedative. I started with the prescribed dose of two pills at bedtime. When I woke up the following day, I could barely lift my head off the pillow and was in and out of strange drug-induced sleep all day. I tried taking the medication again but only taking one pill. The effects were the same, and I felt like I was on heavy drugs. I tried for a third time but only a half pill. Same outcome. Can't get out of bed, foggy, and in and out of sleep."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "The first time I took it, I took one pill upon waking up. I literally stayed in bed the entire day. I could hardly open my eyes, let alone lift my head off the pillow. Thank goodness it was a weekend, and I didn't have to work! I chalked it up to a bad morning sickness day and took two at bedtime that night. The next morning, it wasn't quite as bad, but it was still a struggle to get through the day. I wasn't nauseous, but I was so fatigued and sleepy, and just felt 'bad.' I realized it might be the Diclegis, so I didn't take any more after that. So now I'm back to all-day nausea (no vomiting), but at least I can function! I only recommend Diclegis if you've got major vomiting/HG. Otherwise, the side effects just aren't worth it."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I am currently 7.5 weeks pregnant, and I started experiencing debilitating nausea at about six weeks. I've been taking Diclegis for a few days now (2 before bed and 1 more during the day if necessary), and it's helped quite a bit. My nausea has decreased between 60 and 80%, and my appetite is returning. I actually went out to dinner with friends last night and enjoyed myself! I have had some drowsiness, but I can still get through my work day OK. And thank goodness for my great prescription coverage - $40/100 tablets! I hope it continues to control my symptoms this well."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Diclegis is by far the best medicine for morning sickness. I suffered with all my pregnancies (Hyperemesis Gravidarum), which is severe morning sickness. With this pregnancy, I was prescribed Diclegis, which works wonders. Not even drowsy! No nausea or vomiting. I love this medicine, it is a lifesaver and works great and is completely safe. Glad the FDA put it back on the market."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "My first trimester of pregnancy has been entirely brutal. Nausea from the time I woke up until I fell asleep, and sometimes even waking up to vomit. Many days I vomited 4-5 times a day. This medicine is not a “cure-all,” but it has helped me immensely. The drowsiness in the mornings is difficult, but it was way less severe than my nausea. This medication has made me feel slightly human again. Many of my other terrible symptoms remain, but my nausea is under much better control with this drug."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This medicine is awful! I’m 6 weeks pregnant with my 2nd pregnancy, and this was the first time I had experienced nausea. My doctor gave me some samples, and the first night was wonderful! After a couple of days, I noticed I was zombie-like and could hardly get out of bed! I felt delirious and drugged! I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody that works, has kids, or who doesn’t want to be groggy all day long!"

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I started Diclegis a few weeks ago for nausea. I'm now 11 weeks along and have had no sickness. It does cause drowsiness, so I only take 1 at night. Also, dry mouth for me, but it's worth not getting sick, especially if you have long work shifts."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I cannot keep water down, let alone food, if I don't take this. I was hoping it would end after the first trimester and I could stop using it daily, but I'm 4.5 months, and I still can't be without it. So grateful it's class A because I don't know how I'd work and function without it. Wishing I didn't need anything! Also, I should add... I only take half the dose: one at night and one in the morning. Two during the day is way too much; you'll feel drowsy and sedated. I learned that day one and realized I don't even need that much to alleviate the symptoms."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my third pregnancy. My previous pregnancies, I had horrible nausea and vomiting. Took Zofran from the time I found out I was pregnant until the day I gave birth. With this pregnancy, however, Zofran wasn't working for nothing!!! Got prescribed Diclegis and took 1 at night (last night), made me very sleepy. Woke up and felt a million times better, though. I haven't felt like this in months! I finally feel normal! This is a lifesaver, my copay was $50, but it was worth every dollar! It's now 8:30 pm the next day, and I still feel pretty good off last night's pill. It did put me out like a light, but reading other reviews, the drowsiness shouldn't last long."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I have hyperemesis gravidarum. This is my third pregnancy and third time having it. My doctor gave me Diclegis. I will say it has helped with the vomiting 90%. I only throw up when I get out of bed in the morning. I am able to eat food again without throwing it up seconds later. The downsides that I have noticed are the severe drowsiness and upset stomach at night. My stomach turns all night and makes it hard for me to get comfortable. The drowsiness... Well, I don't wake up until around 10 or 11 a.m. And then I'm back in bed around 3 and sleep until 6 or 7 p.m. And then back to sleep around 10 p.m. I pretty much traded the vomiting for drowsiness. I can't get anything done around my house and hate being in bed nearly all day."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting "After horrible all-day nausea (no vomiting), I was prescribed Diclegis by my doctor. It felt like a miracle drug. I was able to enjoy life again and not be bedridden from severe nausea. I remember looking the drug up online before I got it, and I hesitated to try it based on reviews - DON'T. It works differently for everyone. I tried every natural remedy. This was the only thing that made the biggest difference - I would still feel some nausea towards the end of the day, but it was a night-and-day difference from before. I was not drowsy, as I feared on this drug, and I've been able to wean off it (took 4 a day, then just 2 every evening) after 13 weeks. STOP reading reviews and just try it."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Extremely fatigued. Used as directed during week 7, and getting out of bed was a struggle. Slept all day and went to bed early... 6-7 pm early. This is my first pregnancy, so I thought it's probably 1st trimester fatigue. Stopped using the next day and decided to 'stick it out' without Diclegis. I'm 17 weeks today and had really bad nausea, vomiting every 30 mins this AM and thought, OK, let me give this medicine another shot, I'm desperate... Same deal, nausea/vomiting is gone... because I'm tranquilized! It works, but I may be too sensitive for its drowsiness effects. Not for me."

For Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Bonjesta is a life-saver. My vomiting and nausea were so bad that I ended up in the hospital after I couldn’t keep food or water down for over 3 days. My doctor first prescribed Promethazine, which helped at first but wore off. Then, Zofran worked for about 48 hours and the vomiting was worse than ever after that. My doctor then gave me some samples of Bonjesta. I began taking just one pill at night, and voila! Not only could I easily sleep throughout the night (this medication makes you VERY drowsy), but I woke up feeling like a new person. Bonjesta is the only medication that helped the following day and not only at night. I skipped one day of taking it and vomited 6 times. I later ran out of pills and missed two days. I took Zofran as I waited for my refill, and was unable to even keep dry toast down, when I had previously enjoyed a cheeseburger, Chinese food, and more on Bonjesta. Bonjesta is the only thing that has truly helped my nausea and vomiting, and I highly recommend it."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "OMG. This drug is saving my life! I found out that I am 6 weeks pregnant on May 2nd. I have not held anything food down since the past 2 weeks. 3-6 times per day throwing up. I went to visit my Ob/Gyn yesterday, and she gave me Diclegis to try. I am in heaven, high as hell (drowsy), but for the first day, I have not thrown up and my food is staying down. Pregnant with twins is not easy. Can't afford to lose too much weight. Everyone doesn't or won't have the same reaction, but I would highly recommend this drug. Precaution, take it at night only."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "8 weeks pregnant with twins. Have severe nausea all day and evening. Take 2 pills before bed, and it controls my symptoms until late evening the next day. The website for the drug warns of withdrawal symptoms and how to prevent them, so do your research. Helps me to sleep all day. For me, I would not take it during the day because it does make me drowsy. But without taking it, I would not last all day at work. The website also has coupons."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I have taken Diclegis for about a month now, and it has been great for me. Just makes me sleepier than ever, but I can eat, and that's what I needed considering I am already thin as it is. This medicine has been a lifesaver, even though I am having concerns if it will harm the baby, which had made me resort to just one a day. Also, the pharmacy told me the bottle was $700 out of pocket. Yikes. I'm surviving off samples from the office. Thank goodness!"

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Just started this medication and have had a great improvement! I’m taking the full 4-pill dosage. I was a regular Unisom user before taking this, so I do not find it makes me very drowsy, maybe a little midday, but who doesn’t get tired in the afternoon? Totally worth it to not feel sick and miserable - I had moderate to severe all-day nausea, no vomiting. I’m trying to get on a schedule of taking all 4 spread out (vs. two at bedtime) to get really consistent levels, since it does not make me very drowsy. This medicine helps me get through the day with my toddler! It is a little expensive, but worth it for me, feeling sick is the worst. Together with some lemon candies and magnesium spray for random waves of nausea, it’s a good combo."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was prescribed this by my OB-GYN and began the medicine as instructed with 2 at night and 1 the next morning. I woke up in the morning feeling angry and frustrated and was taking it out on my 2-year-old and husband. I continued about my morning and took my daughter to daycare and realized something was not right about me. I was dizzy and feeling groggy and irritated. I was out of it for the rest of the day. I discontinued using the medicine and called my OB-GYN the next day, who told me I had a bad reaction to the medicine. Bad stuff for me and now still living with the nausea and sickness versus feeling all of that from the medicine."

Doxylamine / pyridoxine for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "My co-worker (who is also pregnant) suggested that I ask my doctor to prescribe Diclegis for me if I ever experienced nausea at any point in my pregnancy. I was sure I wasn't going to experience any of that until I hit week 7, and OH! I was in for a rude awakening. My nausea became horrible from day to day until I asked my doctor to prescribe something for my nausea. Of course, Diclegis was the medicine prescribed. After taking two at bedtime the first night, I didn't feel at all nauseated the next morning, therefore, I didn't feel the need to take the morning dose. Now, only if I feel nauseated in the morning time, I'll take my morning dose (1 tablet) and continue on with my day. The only downside? Diclegis can cause drowsiness."
