Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was ridiculously sick starting around 5-6 weeks pregnancy. At 8 weeks my new Obgyn prescribed Diclegis. I started taking 2 pills at night and I definitely felt better next day - barely any nausea so it definitely served its purpose. However when I returned for the 10 week ultrasound my doctor informed me that there was no heartbeat and the baby stopped growing around 8 weeks. The heartbeat was strong 140 at 7 weeks and this was a totally devastating blow- usually once there is heartbeat above 120 there is a very small chance of miscarriage- about 3-4%. I can’t help but think that maybe it is not a total coincidence that the baby stopped growing and died right around the same time I started taking diclegis. If I am lucky to get pregnant again will never touch this drug :("

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I have hyperemesis gravidarum (HG)! Have had it with all 6 pregnancies. My last pregnancy (my 5th), my doctor gave me Diclegis, and it changed my whole pregnancy experience! In my previous 4 pregnancies, I suffered for 5-6 months, constantly puking, weak, fatigued, can't get out of bed, can't keep food or water down. In fact, I have been hospitalized with every pregnancy for dehydration and was admitted for 3-5 days where they pumped me up with Phenergan and Zofran (other nausea meds). I would feel a little better, but the nausea was never gone! After my first dose of Diclegis, I immediately felt a difference! Let me be clear, this is the only thing that has ever really helped take away the vomiting and nausea EVER. I've tried everything! During my 5th pregnancy, when I started taking Diclegis, it was the first time I felt relief. I am now pregnant with my 6th child, and I have started Diclegis again because at 6 weeks I'm so sick with nausea and vomiting I can't get out of bed!"

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "When I was originally prescribed Diclegis, I was told to take 2 at night and my Zofran in the day as needed. After 3 more visits to the ER, my doctor changed the dose from 2 to 4 a day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, and the 2 at night. This was the ONLY thing that worked to end my 24/7 nausea. It does make me super sleepy at times, but I'll take that over constantly feeling like I'm dying ANY DAY. Feels good to be able to enjoy a glass of water and a snack without fear of vomiting and having stomach acid come up."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This medicine has honestly worked wonders for me. My morning sickness was so bad that it was through the whole day. I did read reviews prior to buying it, and a lot of people stated it makes you very sleepy. This is true. So, I decided to only take one pill at night before bed, and since it's an extended-release tablet, it has helped with my sickness all the way up till the evening of the next day. It does knock me out for the night, and I don't recommend taking it during the day if you work or have things to do. But it really does help with the sickness! I didn't have an appetite at all and barely could even drink anything...NOW I'm able to tolerate food and drink more. I don't have as much of an appetite like before being pregnant but am still able to eat a fair amount. If you're thinking and debating about the medicine, just do it, it seriously does help if you take it continuously!"

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I am 9 weeks pregnant and have had horrible nausea and sometimes vomiting. Zofran helped, but is linked to heart defects in the babies, so I was put on Phenergan, which helped but still didn't stop the nausea, which is when my OB put me on Bonjesta. Turns out, I had no idea what nausea, dizziness, and gut-wrenching vomiting were until I started taking this medication! It made my symptoms so much worse. I've heard good things about it but want to let people know it does not work for everyone! I have settled on Phenergan, it keeps my nausea at a reasonable level, and I rarely vomit. Please stop taking Bonjesta if you're getting dizzy and sick to your stomach!"

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my first pregnancy, and I have been extremely nauseated, which started at week 6. At 8 weeks, I was vomiting 3-4 times a day. I am currently 10 weeks, and my doctor prescribed me Bonjesta, which has worked like a gem! I am forever grateful that there is a safe and effective method for women experiencing these symptoms throughout their pregnancy. I am hoping that as I move into the 12-14 week phase, I will no longer have to rely on this medication, but in the meantime, I will continue to take it in order to function. It did make me extremely drowsy at first, but now that I take it on a regular basis as prescribed, my body has become somewhat adjusted. I typically take it in the evenings before bed."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I have always had horrible morning sickness. This time around, I am pregnant with twins, and it was much worse. I started the medication, and it stopped the ache of nausea all the time! The bad is it did stop the nausea, but I had no signs when I was going to throw up. So you randomly throw up without knowing your stomach is upset... not fun at all. The bad thing is the co-pay with my insurance was $160, so very pricey, but worth it."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I started taking this medication three weeks ago and it works great for morning sickness but they don't tell you the risks they say it is safe for both you and the baby yet I started having severe chest and back pain and had blood work done over and over and they told me I was fine but I hadn't had a bowel movement in almost two weeks and I was in so much pain I couldn't get out of bed......but i found out it was the reason for all my problems, restless sleep, chest pain, back pain, not being able to stand or take care of my children it was not worth the pain and the suffering and imagine what you baby is going through if your in all that pain. There is a reason it was off the market for 30 years."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Okay, so last time I wrote a review (2019-04-25), I was just put on Diclegis, and my review might not move some people, but today, after taking it for one month, I can say, girls, if you are pregnant and you have nausea, then you deserve this medicine. Ask for samples if you want to give it a try before buying, and please, if Unisom and Vit B6 doesn’t work day one, it won’t ever work on you. I wasted two weeks on it. Also, if Reglan made you sick like it did to me, throw the pill and ask for Diclegis, and I'm sure it will help, but above all lies help of God. I thank him that I can have this medicine and be happily pregnant."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I want to throw a ticker tape parade for the manufacturers of this medicine. It changed my life. I'm 13 weeks and was flat on my back, gagging all day, every day. I tried all the tricks, and nothing worked until I tried this. I am back in the land of the living and hoping to regain the 10 lbs I lost in the 1st trimester. I did a lot of research, and there is nothing that indicates that this medicine causes any problems whatsoever for the baby. It is probably the best-researched medicine on the market to date. Emily Oster's book, Expecting Better, has a nice explanation for why it was pulled in the US (but not UK or Canada) for 30 yrs."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I suffered from very bad hyperemesis gravidarum (morning sickness) in my first pregnancy and had success in relieving symptoms with Diclegis. During my second pregnancy, I ended up having morning sickness again and was desperate for relief. My doctor prescribed me Bonjesta, which at first appeared to relieve symptoms, but within two days I was just as sick as before. I ended up having to eliminate so many foods that, by the time I was done, I was only able to eat spinach and potatoes that were steamed. I decided to drop the Bonjesta and see what happened, and within two days I had zero symptoms and was able to eat whatever I wanted. Imagine that, the anti-nausea drug was causing my issues all along. This medication did not work for me at all. I’m glad that my insurance covered the medication because I would have been pretty sour about having to pay the exorbitant cost."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was put on Bonjesta at 10 weeks pregnant. I was put on Zofran first and took it for a week with no help, then Phenergan for a week, same thing. The only thing I could stomach was a banana a day and a sip or two of ice-cold water or Sprite. I was puking and vomiting every single day. I had lost 12 lbs from lack of eating and constant puking. Bonjesta's been a lifesaver. I've been able to eat. The only side effect I've had is tiredness. Taking it at night has been the best for me. I'm so happy to be back to 'normal.' I am able to be full now, along with knowing I'm getting and giving the baby the food, vitamins, and nutrients it needs. If you're losing weight while pregnant, constantly puking and sick, and can't eat, I highly suggest talking about Bonjesta with your OB and see if it may work for you."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was given samples of Diclegis to help with my all-day sickness. It seems safe, so I was pretty excited to take it. The first night I took 2 pills, and the next morning, no nausea, but I was dead tired, had a dry mouth, and had stomach aches. Literally felt like a zombie, couldn't drive, barely made it out of bed. I had to stop taking it because I can't miss work. The next day, I had a severe migraine, never had one prior. It could have been due to me stopping the medication or it wearing off, but I couldn't see nor function. I'd rather deal with the nausea than the side effects, honestly. I feel bad but cannot function on Diclegis. Pregnant women are already tired, we don't need to add to it. I'm glad it's working for others, but thought I'd share my experience."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "So I suffer from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) (severe nausea and vomiting). I was prescribed Zofran with my first pregnancy, and the birth defects that were listed that could affect my baby affected my baby. I was so angry and upset with my doctor for telling me it was safe to take. My daughter now has a heart defect. Second pregnancy, I suffered so much more than my first. I found a new OBGYN, and he prescribed me Diclegis. I will say this: it’s a lifesaver. I was vomiting 20-25 times a day, and the nausea never went away. I couldn't drink or eat anything, I lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. This drug is the only thing that is safe during pregnancy, and it was the only drug that works. I would only recommend this to anyone that suffers from HG."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This is my 5th pregnancy, and I always have nausea, but not technically severe because I don’t vomit. But this time I have been nauseous pretty much 24/7 with severe food aversions. I am 8 weeks, and we had a plane trip already scheduled, so I asked my doctor for something because I struggle with motion sickness even when I’m not pregnant. Oh my goodness, I have NEVER felt so good on an airplane in my life! My nausea is completely gone, and food sounds good again. Three days ago, looking at food magazines made me feel queasy. For me, drowsiness hasn’t been an issue either. They just gave me a sample of Bonjesta, but I think I’m going to ask for a prescription when we get home. I feel like myself again and like I can actually be there for my kids instead of just laying on the couch trying not to think about food."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I was completely disabled by my nausea. I had zero appetite, simple tasks seemed impossible and went 2 weeks without working. At approximately 7 weeks my doctor prescribed Diclegis. I must say I was extremely hesitant, but after another week of constant nausea, I decided I would give in. The change has been miraculous. I can sleep better, have an appetite (limited to salty or sour things only), and nausea is almost completely gone. After a few weeks of taking Diclegis, I decided to test not taking it one night and spent a full day in bed with nausea and not being able to eat. Later that night I took my 2 pills again and the next day felt absolutely wonderful. This medication is a lifesaver."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This drug has saved me from going insane because of how ill I was. I suffered from severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Throwing up for weeks on end, I would throw up every few hours. I went days without being able to keep anything down, including water. Those who suffer from NVP, I know your suffering... it is so awful! I was stuck on the couch and in bed for over a month, and then I finally decided it was time to go on medicine. My quality of life was 0 before this medication. This medicine is definitely on the spendier side but worth every penny if you are suffering. If this medication didn't exist, I would no doubt be in the hospital."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I'm 4 months along with my second child. This pregnancy is very different from the last. I never had such bad nausea, vomiting, and dry heaving. I'm taking this medicine on an as-needed basis. So far, I need one pill at night and another about mid-morning. The original prescription said one in the morning, one in the midday, and two at night. I did that once and slept until 2 PM the next day. That's not healthy either. The only complaint I have is the cost. It ran $178.53 for us. A cost that wasn't expected, but when Phenergan and Zofran aren't working.... you give in. Just as every OTC or prescription, there are side effects. For me, the benefit outweighs the risk. Try to stay away from medication until at least 13 weeks."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Bonjesta helped immediately. After dealing with nausea and vomiting starting at week 5, I realized it would have been impossible to get myself out of bed and into work. I wasn’t able to keep water down. Was dehydrated. Weak. My doctor prescribed this immediately, and it got rid of probably 90% of the nausea and vomiting."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "At first, I hated how drowsy this medication made me. The first dose, which I took at 9 p.m., knocked me out until around 3 p.m. the next day. But slowly, my downtime started to decrease more and more. Last night, I took it and went straight to bed around 10, and I woke up around 9:45. So that's improvement. I think it's worth it to keep taking it and seeing if your body gets used to the drowsiness because honestly, for me, it really helps with the nausea. Some days it's just barely there, others, it is almost non-existent. It totally makes morning sickness more bearable for me."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "This medication was a lifesaver. I went to the ER twice with dehydration from severe vomiting. I couldn’t keep any food or water down. I was diagnosed with HG and sent home with a prescription for Diclegis and Zofran. I did not take the Zofran, but took the Diclegis religiously. It didn’t stop me from feeling ill right away, but it took the edge off and I could continue to work. I was still nauseous but able to eat again. After a month on the medicine, I was gaining weight (after having lost 15 lbs of prepregnancy weight), and I was eating like a champ! Yes, this medicine does make you EXTREMELY tired, but I’d rather fight the day tired than throwing up. (25 weeks and still taking it because I’m still sick)"

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Yes, Bonjesta works extremely well. I had hyperemesis in both my prior pregnancies (was hospitalized twice) and at that time did not know of the existence of Bonjesta. This pregnancy, it was a lifesaver, I was able to eat and fully function. No longer felt nauseous or even aversion to smells. I have a very demanding job in finance and was able to work through the entire pregnancy."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I had morning sickness all day long. It kicked in on week 6. It was unbearable. I tried Bonjesta for three days, and it took the edge off. I was disappointed because I was still super nauseous. I took a second pill on the fourth day. It made me so drowsy. After taking two, I went back to one a day. After a week on it, I feel so much better! My nausea was almost completely gone after a week, and it doesn’t make me drowsy anymore. If after a few days it doesn’t work, take a second pill one day just to get in your system and wait a week. It takes a week to work. It is worth it! You will feel good again."

Diclegis (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "Hi. I have always been sick with each pregnancy and was put on Zofran. It worked sometimes. I have been taking Diclegis for about a month, and it works the same as Zofran for me. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I am up to four pills per day. Sometimes I still throw up and feel nauseous - like today. I guess the best thing for me is to get my tubes tied. I can't deal with this whole pregnancy thing ever again. I know one thing for sure: this is the very last pregnancy for me."

Bonjesta (doxylamine / pyridoxine) for Nausea/Vomiting of Pregnancy "I started having extreme nausea and vomiting at around 6 weeks pregnant. There was a point where just thinking about food would make me nauseous. Obviously, I had to force myself to eat because of the pregnancy, but I knew it wasn't going to last, I just threw it back up. I would vomit 2 times a day and feel nauseous the whole day. My OB told me about Bonjesta, I would take anything at this point. Turns out my insurance didn't cover it, it would be $700+ out of pocket. I literally started crying because I was so tired of feeling the way I was feeling. But luckily, I got a prior approval, and immediately after taking it, I was able to keep my dinner down for the first time. I am on day 3 and currently have not thrown up or experienced nausea like I had been. It does make you really tired, but I'd rather feel tired and fight through it than be nauseous all day and have the horrible feeling of hunger but not eat from fear of throwing up."
